Great program both for fitness and confidence.

My daughter started in the FKU children’s program, and has continued to train into adulthood. She has found the dojo members to be supportive and helping. I’ve seen how her work has helped her develop more confidence and become more able to defend herself if she needs to.

I’ve been training here for over 17 years. I began just out of curiosity and stayed for the challenge. The school spirit can’t be beat, the workout is solid, and the skills are top-​notch traditional karate.

My son started taking Karate lessons offered by FKU at his elementary school in 2008. As his parents, our goal was to help him find an activity that he enjoyed, and actually wanted to continue. From the very first lesson, we were completely impressed with the professionalism of the instructors, and high caliber of these lessons. Our son quickly learned that Karate is not just something cool he sees in the movies, rather an intricate and powerful art form. The seriousness and level of respect the instructors at FKU have for not only the art of Karate, but also the students, was contagious. Our son not only became more focused and enthused; he became seriously motivated to advance in the program. I contribute this completely to the special teaching skills and consistent mantra of the FKU instructors: students in their classes, even the very young, can and will rise to the level of respect, focus, dedication and practice that is Karate.
