Ok food. Ridiculous amount of ciders. Fun that they have board games. The real reason that I am giving this 5 stars: ROSA. Rosa, the most amazing table busser that I have ever had in my life. She is like a ninja at clearing tables. We had a group of 7 that all arrived at different times, and we all ate at different times. This could have led to a messy table full of dishes and glasses piled up everywhere. It was a busy night, but there would be no mess on Rosa’s watch. We started timing her, because we were so impressed. No dish sat on the table longer than 20 seconds. At one point, we(after several ciders) spilled a water. I kid you not, Rosa had the towel on the table before the glass fully tipped over. We freaked her out with our praise, I am positive. If you are a manager of this establishment and can promote her or give her an extra tip percent — she deserves it. If you are just planning to be a patron, say what’s up to Rosa and watch a master at work.

The best place cider and Mead in Seattle. Come here early, as the seating gets taken very quickly

Great service and good food but could definitely use more vegetarian options. We had a guest from out of town who has a severe gluten allergy and she just LOVED this place. The fact that she could get anything on the menu was a huge deal for her and she really enjoyed her food. The gnocchi with sage butter was delicious and the desserts were just divine. Especially the buttermilk cheesecake. I’m still thinking about that… mmm. Parking can be hard to find, but that’s expected for this neighbourhood. Overall, a nice place that’s definitely worth a visit.

GLUTENFREEEVERYTHING? Yep. LITERALLY A BILLIONKINDSOFCIDER? Kinda. I mean, they definitely have the most impressive selection of anywhere I’ve ever been. I’m actually having a hard time wrapping my head around why this place only has 3.5 stars. My family was in town and we came on a Friday night and are still talking about how great the food was like a week later. Along with not being able to eat gluten, I also can’t eat dairy, and our server was super knowledgeable about what I could and couldn’t eat. Oh, and she was super nice and awesome. I don’t know. I want to eat here every day. I’m excited to come back and try brunch!

If you like ciders this is the place to go. I’ve been here a few times and always ask for recommendations on which cider to try. They are always nice about helping me find my drink and I haven’t been disappointed with their choices yet. They have a ton of games that you can play, but if you get there later in the night, good luck finding a place to sit. I got there at 11pm on a Saturday and it was packed. There’s a couple of booths, which are pretty hard to snag on a weekend, and a few long tables. Don’t be afraid to share those tables or else you’ll never find a seat.

I’ve never been a huge fan of cider but my friend have been raving about this place so I decided to give it a shot. I have to say, Seattle is a very interesting city… the bar is located downstairs of the restaurant. They had a good selection of cider, beer, and food. If you’re feeling social, there are game boards and two tables of shuffleboard. We all ended up ordering fruity ciders: — Portland Cider Passion Fruit(smelled like feet but tasted great) — Reverend Nat’s Hallelujah Hopricot(Apricot — favorite one of the night) — Alpenfire Blackberry Calypso(this was okay) The chicken wings and brussel sprouts were decent — nothing special. I suppose if you like cider, this will be a fantastic place to check out.

This review is completely service based. The morning after visiting the bar, I checked my bank account to see that I had been charged $ 1,500! I didn’t pay for the whole bar did I? Anyway, I freaked out, called Capitol Cider, and talked to Kate, the manager in the morning. I told her my situation and she was extremely helpful. I gave her my name and number so she could contact me later. Unfortunately, she had written my number down wrong but Kate went as far as messaging me on Facebook to contact me. I’ve never experienced someone at a bar who cared so much for the customer.

In the interest of full disclosure: I am gluten-free. So forgive me while I wax on poetically about this magical place where I can eat it all! So excite! Midway through the meal, I pondered if there was a way for me to move into an apartment upstairs. You could call me a fan. But my boyfriend(who will pretty much eat anything that isn’t actively running from him), and the other couple who accompanied us(not a gluten-free vegan in the mix), also loved this spot. We hoovered the remarkably tasty biscuits n’ gravy, we snookered down the crispy fish and chips, and we all loved the perfectly dressed caesar salad. As my friend put it, «It’s not just gluten-free good. It’s good-good.» Did I mention that they served the best cocktail my boyfriend has ever tasted? No? Because they did. We finished with a round of beignets that I dreamt of during the second act of Book of Mormon. So I guess you could say they were so delicious, I saw God. Or you know, Brigham Young. Close enough.

What a Cider selection? Bartender was able to help me make my tastes with the right Cider. Great pub feel. The place is somewhere you want to go with friends relax a fee hours away. The upstairs has nice booths the look onto the street but the downstairs has some fun bar games and a stage. The food isn’t publican fare but you won’t be disappointed with anything you order. They have a classic board games to play which is a little disappointing due to how a friend sold it to me.

Ughh. I really liked this place the first time I went. I came here again last week and experienced some of the WORST service. We walked in and joined some others who had already ordered and had been there for a while. The waiter came over as soon as we sat down and asked if we were ready. We told him we needed a minute and he disappeared for LITERALLY15 minutes. Finally, he took our orders and then disappeared for ANOTHER10 minutes. So it was about 25 minutes before we actually got drinks. More people joined our party and they had the same problem. The waiter was really rude about their«no outside food policy.» I understand the need for such a policy, but the way we were spoken to was just not okay. One of the people at our table had a chocolate bar sitting next to him and the waiter was like«put that away, I don’t want to see it.»(In a rude voice) We joked that in order to get the waiter back when he disappeared, we should just wave the chocolate bar around(lol)

I was looking for somewhere to go for Sunday brunch and Capitol Cider came up on a Seattle Unilocaler’s list. We didn’t have a car, so we walked following my phone’s gps. No where does it say hills… LOL! Coming up from 1st Ave on Seneca, there were some steep grades, but then it tapered off and it was pretty much down hill from there. Friendly greeting when we walked in. Great atmosphere… the hostess was going to put us in this one area but it looked really cozy, so she gave a nice large booth. In the morning, if you sit facing the door, the sun will indirectly hit you. No biggie, just bring your sunglasses. Ordered a cidermosa… first time and it’s pretty good! I ordered the eggs benedict which came with ham, spinach, poached eggs, and served on top of potato scalloped squares and one of the most delicious hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had… very very good! The partner-in-crime had the traditional eggs and bacon with home fries. We also shared the banana bread French toast that came with pear butter and maple syrup… deeeeeeeeelicious! Another round of drinks and we were good! The walk back, down Pike St., was very pleasant and we managed to pass by some of the other coffee houses plus a really big Starsucks that was geared toward tourists. The whole experience at Capitol was a great way to start the day… even though it was close to noon.

We sat in the bar downstairs since we had only come for the cider. There’s a lot of board games to play as well as a few shuffleboard tables. We sat down at a table and waited long enough that I was starting to wonder if we were supposed to order at the bar instead. The first server we had was very inattentive and was clearly more interested in the shuffleboard game that was happening. The second sever was a lot better and was much more attentive. We asked if it would be possible to split a glass and he has no problem accommodating our request. Their menu isn’t very appealing to me, but I’d try them again sometime for some more cider.

This place is pretty lively the downstairs looks like a fun place they have shuffle board and board game options! I don’t drink buy I ordered the HUB Raddler– half beer half lemonade soda it was pretty good. My friend ordered the«Baked Apple» it really does taste like apple pie as the server said!

I came here on a Friday night and went to the downstairs bar area, which was packed! I didn’t hang out upstairs but I think next time I’ll see what that is like. They have a(rightly so, given the name) huge cider menu, and I got the first one up on the board, a $ 6 ace pumpkin cider, which turned out great, and if I wasn’t so tipsy already, would have ordered another! I played my first game of shuffleboard here, and also WON my first game of shuffleboard! My competitive nature greatly appealed to this. Shuffleboard is fun and easy to learn, and in combination with cider, is a great bar game! No more beer pong for me! Also — lumbersexuals take note! This bar is your perfect night. Bring your flannels and facial hair, Capitol Cider welcomes you with open arms!

Gluttony at it’s finest right here walked in on a Sunday and the white Stripe’s where playing above the gluten Free food is what made me and my friends stop by «something about banana bread French toast» had my friend swooning over this place I just liked the staff and the atmosphere of this upscale dive next to neighbors on the hill and then I got my plate it was perfect everything was spectacular the cider selection was equally impressive and the cocktail menu is great the chef came over to my table to see how things where going *everything was awesome he even let us preview his soon to come biscuits and Gravy it’s worth the wait folks so good and the handmade sausage is absolutely delicious I’m still smiling just thinking about it Unfortunately the chef told us he is relocating to a place called queen bee he wants to bake he said

Baked potato croquettes. A-freaking-plus. If I were to ever go to Seattle again, I would come back and order every last baked potato croquette from Capitol Cider. I was told Capitol Hill was a cool spot to bar hop, so my boyfriend and I decided to just drink somewhere since we were in the area. Capitol Cider was really packed, but luckily there was one table outside that was open, so we were seated pretty quickly. My boyfriend is a beer drinker, not so much cider, but he was surprised at how good the Hopp’d cider tasted(a little bitter), and how strong the 8.5% cider(forgot which one) actually was. I got a very floral cocktail. It had soju in it, and I love soju, but I was a little hesitant because I was not sure if Seattle knew how San Diego soju is done. The cocktail was called Lilac Tree, and it was alright. Our waiter was sweet! She managed to check up on us a lot, even if she just peaked over without saying anything. The #1 thing about this place were the baked potato croquettes, though.

Overall, I give Capitol Cider 3.5 stars. You won’t find Mike’s Hard Lemonade here, which is probably a good thing. If you’re looking to get«krunked» on cider, that’s truly not possible when it comes to this refreshing apple drink. However, Capitol Cider is a cool place to hang out with friends. Any place with old timey Victorian-style paintings on the wall is fine by me. Here are my thoughts: –Food/Drinks: 3 stars –Customer Service: 4 stars –Atmosphere: 4 stars –Cost: 3 stars Overall Experience: 3.5 stars I recently went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I ordered a cider on tap for $ 6, which was inexpensive and tasty. Like spiked apple juice, it was crisp and tasty. I didn’t try their food, except for a side order of handcut fries with aioli mustard sauce($ 7). It was pretty darn delicious! However, as other Unilocalers have commented, the food plates are beautifully arranged on wooden blocks, but the portions looked tiny for the price. If you want to try different types of cider, come to Capitol Cider. The variety is great and they offer flight options(i.e. small samplers of 3 different kind of ciders).

Good atmosphere — a lot of neat things to look at. Friendly staff. A lot of beers on tap. I really thought this place was going to have good food — pictures all looked delicious! Lame food — meatballs were cold and no flavor. Baked potatoes were lacking flavor but good concept — had a sauce of some sort but just a plain sauce. Pork belly was very small — size of a piece of bacon and no flavor at all. Sarah the waitress was very nice and at tentative. Really wished food was better because everything else was great! Next.

The atmosphere is good, the service friendly but the food is HORRIBLE. I don’t know if they have a chef or if everything comes from a premade box. We ordered the potato balls, pork belly, and the meatballs to start prior to ordering dinner. The potato balls were generally bland, the pork belly tasted like week old ham, and the meatballs… This little bastards were freezing cold inside… Evidently premade a few days prior. It was all shit. Don’t come here unless they get someone to cook proper food.

Came to Capitol Cider for a drink with a friend and it was a good choice to start the evening with. Door entry is a little small for some weird reason, so you doods that work out too much, walk in sideways. Anyways, bar was full so we ended up getting a table. Nice looking bar/restaurant, nice dark woods, portraits of the Presidents, felt very comfy & relaxing here. I dont drink cider very much but their menu had plenty of choices to select from. So we got the black currant cider and the green goblin cider. No particular reason we selected these, I mainly chose it because of the cool green goblin name. Black Currant was tasty but tasted like grape juice at a church communion, but all in a very good way and would totally order it again. Green Goblin was delicious as well, nice apple flavor with a little tartness, maybe named because of green apples? Whatever, it was good. We thought to ourselves that this could be dangerous as we could have drank plenty more and more and more. We also got an order of calamari to share as well, very tasty, nice & salty, good spice mix on it, nice dipping sauce and good presentation on a cribbage looking wood board. Tasty pickled onions on top were great too! Portion is pretty small for the cost. Service was fine, servers were real nice and quick. We only stayed for 1 drink but a place I would definitely come back to.
