I met a friend here for dinner last weekend and neither of us had ever been before. The décor is so charming! Look for the small owl decoration sitting along the stairs. Super cute! I was there first out of my friend and I. The host/waiter greeted me promptly and asked if I was going to be eating or taking an order togo. When I told him that I would be waiting for a friend, he offered me a water and a menu and sat me where I would be able to wait easily. Once both of us had arrived he gave us options of where to sit. We chose up in the loft area. It was a very nice place to sit and I wasn’t distracted by the potential for people watching below. Our waiter was excellent, didn’t hover too much, but was there if we needed anything and brought us more water quite frequently. The food was great! We both got crepes, one sweet and one savory. I had the mushroom crêpe. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce that the crêpe was garnished with, but it wasn’t overpowering, and I don’t think it made it any less enjoyable. I would definitely return and try the Korexican tacos that many of the other reviews rave about!

Cool little place to stop in for lunch. They also have some great local beers on tap.

We are visiting from New Orleans and walked to this spot from our hotel for breakfast. JACKPOT… I had the Korexican Tacos! Yum!!! My husband had the Farmers Breakfast. We were so pleased with our choices! Dustin was our server and he was incredibly nice and prompt. When I told him we were visiting he kindly offered suggestions of other places for us to try… We are from the south where it’s known for hospitality but we have never been anywhere with people as nice as in Seattle! Great spot… Great Food… Great Service… Great Experience! Very Nice!

Creamy, crunchy goodness. Super fast and politely friendly service marked the start to a great lunch. The Pesto Crêpe was an excellent combination of creamy pesto/avocado goodness with savory crêpe and crunchy pine nuts. Not heavy but still hearty. Fresh spinach and tangy sun-dried tomatoes complemented the overall dish. Side salad was a super value. A generous portion of fresh, mixed greens were topped by crisp croutons and ripe tomato slices. I recommend the blue cheese dressing.

Just to start, the décor of this place is awesome. Rustic Pacific Northwest with a mix of hipster reclaimed wood and fun light fixtures. But, while that’s nice, you don’t come to restaurants for the décor. The food is excellent. I had the farmers breakfast, she had the breakfast sandwich, and we shared a caramelized apple cheddar crêpe. Drinks are good too, try the Apple Carmel steamer. Service was fast and friendly. A must go for visitors and locals :).

I just dropped by because I wanted a latte and little pasty. The latte was amazing and the blueberry muffin Yums. The place is small but that’s what makes it cool. Would have liked to sat by the window but it was too crowded and didn’t feel waiting. But will definitely try again when back in town.

Awesome little place to come and eat with a company. I enjoyed the Korexican tacos and love the 80’s music playlist. Will surely come back next time I am in town.

This place was absolutely delicious, and the cuteness of the Christmas-y café decorations just made for a wonderful setting. I got the Nutella Mocha Latte, which was a spiritual experience in itself. It wasn’t sweetened, which was a bit surprising, but definitely in a good way. It still had a rich, creamy Hazelnut flavor to remind my taste buds of the oh-so-familiar flavor. I also got the breakfast sandwich with vegetarian sausage on the side. I’m glad I got the veggie sausage on the side because I was not a fan. Granted, I’ve never had real sausage before, so I might just not like the flavor in general. But luckily, the rest of the sandwich more than made up for it. The biscuit was warm and well seasoned. It was buttery and flaky, but solid enough to keep the sandwich together. The veggies were fresh, the eggs perfectly done, and the cheese harmonious, not overpowering. I also got a bowl of fruit on the side, which came with strawberries, oranges, grapes, and blueberries, all of which were sweet and plentiful. The staff was very cheery and helpful. Even though the café was pretty busy when I walked in, I received my meal pretty quickly, but I wasn’t rushed either. Also — note they have seating upstairs(in fact, try to sit upstairs rather than the lonely single seating downstairs; it’s decorated beautifully). Thank you, Citizen, for a wonderful breakfast! I’ll surely be back on my next trip to Seattle!

Just visited this café for the first time at the recommendation of my boyfriend, who had lived about a block away from the place for two years. According to him, it’s always been a reliable and tasty place to eat, and given today’s experience, I’m a fan. If you can get in early enough in the morning on Saturday, you won’t have to experience much of a wait as other folks in the area are still sleeping in from Friday evening exploits. The wait staff is kind and friendly without being overbearing, and while it’s a fairly compact location, you don’t get the sense of being crowded. I had a latte with almond milk and the boyfriend had a doppio — both of us were pretty pleased(which is a big statement coming from him, as he’s a bit of a coffee snob). The prices are very reasonable considering the location and quality of food you get. The quantity is just enough to be pleasantly full, but not uncomfortably so — a bonus in my book. I had a crêpe madame, which was delicious — the crêpe was thin, crispy at the edges, and soft without being soggy in the middle. Not too much sauce, not too much salt; the combination really let the taste of the arugula come through, making the dish feel pretty fresh. All in all, I’d definitely love to come again!

Great place! We came for breakfast on a Sunday and it was busy but not at capacity. The building is kind of like an old house or a small barn – very neat atmosphere. They sat us in the upstairs loft area. The chai latte was incredible. We shared the Cowboy Casserole and the Pear Crêpe. Both were fantastic.

On a beautiful day, the windows and patio are open to let in fresh air. Last Saturday was that type of day, so my boyfriend and I came mid-afternoon and were quickly seated at an indoor bar by an open window. We came here because they serve breakfast and brunch items all day, and that’s a blessing to people who don’t know how to get their clothes on before noon on weekends. Another perk of this place: It’s surprisingly affordable for a place that looks like it’s catering to Seattle hipsters with its woodsy interiors, wide selection of drinks and original menu. And it’s not cheap because they hardly serve you anything or the waiters ditch you. We had our drinks filled regularly and our food came to us within 20 minutes of ordering. My boyfriend and I were amazed at the pile of gravy and sausage heaped onto the breakfast biscuit he ordered. My first taste of their original Korexican tacos(with bulgogi beef) put me in heaven — especially because of the house-made mayo it came with. The only blip in service was that I ordered my tacos without cheese. The waiter realized on his own when he came out with the food that the tacos had cheese on them. He apologized and had another plate out to me in five minutes. I was happy enough with the food and atmosphere that we’ll be back soon for more Korexican tacos!

Yum. When I was waiting for my friend to park and the rest of our party to arrive, a girl and I started to chat. I told her I was visiting from out of town and she said«I’m so glad you are eating here, it is my favorite.» Great way to start! We ordered caramel macchiato and our server said«it is espresso and NOT like Starbucks.» This place is great, lol. I had the caramelized apple cheddar crêpe and added bacon and it was delicious and so much for 9 bucks. Who knew bacon and whipped cream was taste so good together? Everyone loved their meals — my friend and my cousin both got the Korexican Tacos and my cousin’s fiancé got the Nutella crêpe. We all left happy and full. The services was great, especially the hostess.

This place was adorable and quite the gem. There is indoor seatings(upstairs is pretty romantic and charming) and outdoor/patio seatings. It feels cozy and hipster. I was greeted by their friendly staff and sat us outside since it was a nice day in Seattle. Blue skies and epic clouds with little chance of rain. Citizen is known for their crepes and spiked coffee. What caught my attention was one of the drinks reminds me of the Kerouac back in Sacramento at the naked coffee lounge. It was the flat line. Spiked coffee! So i had me one of those. It was quite strong, yet tasty. I also ordered their crunchy pear crisp — sweet local cinnamon pears caramelized and browned, mixed with nutty, crunchy crisp, topped with whipped cream. It was super delicious. The atmosphere is pretty comfy. Lots of outdoor seatings with the city scape view. The only thing I hated was the parking. You would have to call in a certain number, punch in your license plate and credit card to pay for parking. I thought it would be a freebie since it was Labor Day weekend, but the metered parking guys were making their rounds. Tip: be sure to try their tasty sweet crepes! and if you want something out of the norm, order a spike coffee. It gives the day a nice kick.

Grabbed a quick bite before exploring the neighborhood. Fast service along with excellent food made for good experience. I ordered an orange juice while the fiancée grabbed a coffee. Then we split a Crêpe Madame which hit the spot. Will definitely think about this spot next time we’re in town!

Knew I had to try this place when there is over 500 reviews and the rating was still at 4 stars it was impressive. This place is awesome. Quiet and tucked away in Seattle it is a treasure. There was about a 20 minute wait which is standard it’s pretty hipster and it was a Sunday around brunch time– so I didn’t mind. There is outside seating, inside seating and upstairs seating. They have an assortment of crepes savory and sweet which is nice, but I’m not a crêpe person. I had the breakfast sandwhich with egg whites. The biscuit it comes on is homemade you can tell. It’s crispy golden and tastes like heaven! I think a lot of the food is homemade there because it has a great taste that’s not store bought. It was 7 bucks and delicious! It’s a very rustic cozy feel in here. Upstairs is decorated with pages of books on the wall which I really like! I had heard the matcha tea blended was TODIEFOR but upon ordering the blender was broken, what a shame. Next time I’m back in Seattle I will for sure be back and hopefully able to try it.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The atmosphere has a hole in the wall hipster café feel and the staff was friendly but the food was good and bad. Citizen is suppose to be known for their crepes but I actually found the crêpe to be very mediocre. We got the citizen crêpe which was recommended by the waiter and while the crêpe itself was crispy and warm, the inside was cold and not mixed well. Overall I was really disappointed by the crêpe. But we also got the citizen sandwich and that was delicious! A lot of the sandwiches looked great and I definitely regret not ordering two sandwiches. A good place for brunch/lunch if you are in the area but I wouldn’t go out of the way just to come here.

I like the rustic vibe/atmosphere of the building. They were super busy when we got there however we were able to be seated right away and didn’t have to wait long for food or drinks! Very yummy spiked coffee drinks. Food is good, my veggie sausage was overcooked but that’s ok. I know it’s real hard to heat up soy! Hahaha We will come back!

I wish I lived next door to the Citizen because their coffee is top notch. Potentially some of the best in the Seattle area. Every time I stop in, I can’t help but get the breakfast sandwich. The biscuit is delicious, bacon is flavorful, and the ingredients overall are fresh. You cannot go wrong with the pint-sized mimosas for $ 5 either — amazing. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be making it a point to go more often!

I think I need to come out to Queen Anne more often! My friend invited me to lunch one afternoon, and I was delighted to be taken to such a cute restaurant like Citizen. We managed to snag a spot on the outside patio, which probably looks great at night with the string lights. :) Along with a healthy serving of Vitamin D, our group went with the: –Crêpe Madame($ 9.95) — My friend basically summed up this crêpe in one sentence: «All of my favorite things wrapped into one!» I typically go for the sweeter options, but this savory crêpe was on point. The arugula, ham and gruyère cheese just complimented each other so well! –Huevos Rancheros($ 8.98) –Korexican Tacos($ 9.95) Our waiter was great as well — he came by often to check on us and even split our checks without us having to ask. :) As everyone mentioned, parking in front of the restaurant is pretty limited, but you can probably easily find some nearby street parking. Sadly, we were too full to try a sweet crêpe for dessert. :’(But I guess that means that I’ll have to stop by again! :P

Overall this is a great restaurant. The wait staff was great and attentive to our needs. Food tasted great and came out within a reasonable amount of time. Drinks are pretty unique and very tasty. The B.L.A.T. sandwich w/fried egg was outstanding! Bacon was thick and rich with flavor. Add some hot sauce and it’s down right mouth watering. Special for the month was Apple Cinnamon Crumble w/Rhubarb. So glad that this item came to the table. Filled with sweet and cinnamon flavor. Add a few morning drinks made this a fantastic meal. One problem with today’s experience was the greeting. Walking in there was no one to greet me and my guest. I had to ask around to see what the wait time was. Unfortunately we didn’t get seated on the side and stood by the door until the table was ready. I’m going to chalk this up to a single event and not how they conduct business. Hopefully the next visit this minor experience will be different.
