Cupcake Royal makes some awesome cupcakes. It’s easy to see why they are so popular! They create great tasting and interesting flavor combinations that change frequently so there is always a reason to come back. Their cupcakes make a great alternative to flowers for your significant other.

My sister surprised me with two full-sized cupcakes on my birthday, one Salted Caramel and one Vanilla. I have heard so many amazing things about this place so I was really excited to finally try them. Now, Salted Caramel is one of my least favorite flavors on the planet but I was like THISIS A CUPCAKE — YOU’REGOINGTOLIKEIT! The problem was not with the flavor… The cake was so dry half of it crumbled in my hand as I picked it up. That should have been a red flag, but nope. I took a bite. My mouth felt like it hadn’t had a drink of water in a week. I literally spit it out in the trash. The frosting was sickeningly sweet. Onto the Vanilla, which by the way, happens to be my favorite flavor. Again, the cake crumbled. I decided to give half of this one to my mother to try and she too hated it and spit it out. I will give kudos to the vanilla frosting — that was the only good part. I

I love that they have unique flavors! Makes it fun to try something new. I LOVE the coconut/lime, my 2 fav flavors combined! They coffee is good too. Definitely on the strong side, but good!

First time to Cupcake Royale. We are visiting Seattle from California for Mother’s Day. Cannot say enough about the quality of the cupcake, but the sincerity and kindness of Cody(employee) made our day! Kudos to him!

Love Cupcake Royale for having a vegan chocolate cupcake! I wasn’t a big chocolate cake fan before I became vegan, but these are delicious. Something about the creaminess of the icing won me over. You do have to be quick because these are almost always sold out around dinner time in the QA location. They have sorbet as a back up option, but sorbet is not my idea of dessert. If I had only one Cupcake Royale wish, it would be that they added a vegan vanilla cupcake to their line up. These are surprisingly hard to find in Seattle(I’m also looking at you Fremont PCC). On a side note, my non-vegan friends have tried the vegan cupcake and weren’t able to tell the difference from a regular cupcake so you know they’re good!

I was in Seattle this past weekend visiting a friend. We were enjoying a cup of coffee, and I was wishing I had a sweet treat to go with it. I have an egg allergy, so finding a sweet treat is often difficult because most baked goods contain eggs in one form or another. I googled«vegan cupcakes» and was pleasantly surprised to find that Cupcake Royale was right down the street from where we were! We walked there and asked for a vegan cupcake. There were two women working behind the counter, and they sadly reported to us that the vegan cupcakes had sold out. I turned to my friend to make an alternative egg-less dessert game plane. The women overheard us, realized that I was not a full-on vegan, and happily reported that their chocolate cupcakes are not made with eggs! There was some question about the icing, and they even called their co-worker to find out which icing flavors were safe for me to eat. Having an egg allergy is really annoying, and I dread having to deal with it when I’m eating out. The women working at Cupcake Royale that day were so friendly and so accommodating about my allergy, and the cupcake was so damn good that I wanted to buy a zillion more cupcakes to show my appreciation. I ended up sticking with just the one, but I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Seattle!

For my sugar addiction, this is my go to place. The cupcake flavor varieties just call to me. Salty caramel, coconut lemon, and oh the famous red velvet. Cupcakes and coffee, ice cream, and you can just buy some frosting to add to your homemade creations. What’s not to like. Simple dessert that’s near by the Queen Ann restaurants. Don’t know how else to express my enjoyment of this place. If you like quality cupcakes with quality ingredients, this place is your jam.

Delicious! Tasted the blood orange sorbet – to die for! Bought two cupcakes: vanilla with bourbon maple bacon frosting, and chocolate with salted caramel frosting. The cupcakes were dense in a homemade way and the flavors were spot on. So good!

I had such a great experience here. Great customer service. I came to get a cupcake after a really long hard day and you guys were closing and the girl working was just the sweetest thing! I would come back again just for her! For whoever was working Friday night Feb 19th, you are great! Thanks for your hospitality :)

Who doesn’t love cupcakes?! We ordered vegan chocolate and blackberry lavender. Both were delicious, but the blackberry lavender blew us away! Perfectly soft, moist, and flavorful. The shop was cute and pink and a great place to stop for dessert. We really appreciated the vegan options too!

Best cupcakes ever!!! The frosting always impresses me. I can come here and eat their cupcakes every day if it was convenient. Good thing it isn’t. I love their moist cupcakes but especially the frosting! Huge fan!

I love cupcakes, but I truly this cupcake royale has the best cupcakes. I love all their seasonal flavors like the blackberry or lavender. But my old classic favorite is red velvet(who can resists cream cheese frosting?) But I think any cupcake you choose will be a winner. Also, the staff here are so friendly and nice. Not sure that you could ask for anything more from a cupcake shop! It’s pretty much most little girls’ dream come true here!

Nice location in Queen Anne, love the neighbourhood! Tasty blueberry lavender cupcake with a toffee piece of candy on top. I chose the cupcake and ice cream option and ordered a scoop of the mimosa lavender ice cream, which tasted more like a sherbet to me; light and crisp, refreshing.

I came here to try out there ice cream. I had gotten a buy one get one free voucher that they had given out during a farmer’s market. You can sample the flavors before choosing what you want. not as many as Molly Moons but there’s about 10 to choose from, I think. Some are seasonal with local flavors. For the kids, there’s also a sprinkle station. The staff was helpful and friendly. Street parking.

this place is bomb. I get coffee here sometimes on my way to work and there is this cute girl who works there. I really liked the the one with the pretzels on it, but unfortunately it’s not there anymore. Everything I’ve tried since has been great though. I’m looking to try the eggnog cupcake next chance I get. hot girls + cupcakes + stumptown coffee = babycake central

Cupcakes are still in here in 2014 and to add to that the ice cream is pretty dang good too. What is better than a traditional pink buttercream frosted chocolate cupcake of course this has to be split as one should have the salted caramel ganache ice cream as well. I think this maybe the best cupcakes out there. I do like me some Saint Cupcake in PDX though.

We didn’t need fancy gender reveal cupcakes, just something simple for a video to out of state relatives. Was able to call in a small order and pick it up two hours later… thankfully they had some unfrosted cupcakes in shop ready to go! Bada bing, bada boom: delicious, quality Cupcake Royale cupcakes(with hidden blue filling). Very happy with the QA staff.

I was super excited to hear that Cupcake Royale would be in the neighborhood! Now that it’s open, it’s always a hard choice of where to go for ice cream. I don’t think many people know, but they have really good ice cream here(besides their delicious cupcakes)! I love love their flavors and it’s much more complex(IMO) compared to Molly Moon’s. So if you want something a little more sophisticated and different, you should try this place for ice cream. What I love most is that they have actual cupcake chunks in their ice cream. Some of my favorites include red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting, salted caramel ganache, and stumptown coffee. They also have $ 2 Tuesdays! Get any kind of scoop for only $ 2 :)

Smells like heaven! Wait, ITISHEAVEN! I was waiting for the hubby to get off of work and was walking around. I am not much of a sweets person, but decided to check it out. I walked in and could not leave without getting something. I didn’t eat a cupcake(cue gasp), but I did get some Rhu-berry Sorbet and it was delicious and refreshing. A small cup was more than enough for me. I tasted the Mint with fudge and that was tasty. Very minty fresh. I’ve had their cupcakes before at another location and they are great, I just skipped them today :) It is really pretty in here. All white and pink and cuteness. Lots of IG photo potential in here ;) Friendly, helpful staff. Great atmposhere — I wanted to roll around in the sweet smell of … blueberries?
