Tried to eat here 2 times. First time had no service and left. 2nd time took my wife she was so grossed out by how greasy everything was we didn’t bother ordering.

Yea… don’t eat here, ordered the teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef. The texture and flavors of the food are some of the worst we’ve ever had. How does this place have 4 stars the meat was fucken sour and not the good kind.

We got a couple rolls plus the chicken karaage. The rolls were just okay– nothing was too spectacular. The tuna they used had a mushy consistency(I’m not sure if there is an actual word for this kind of tuna), which I’m not really a fan of, I prefer sushi with the actual slices– it tastes much fresher. Chicken karaage could use a bit more flavor and was on the dry side. I love that there is so much variety in the Cutting Board’s menu. From chicken karaage to agadashi tofu to poke… I usually don’t get these types of options so close to home. I also liked that they had a cheatsheet to the side of the menu that listed all of their spicy rolls and raw rolls. In general, everything was just okay. I would come back to get a quick fix if I didn’t want to drive all the way to Belltown.

I don’t know about the sushi, I just get the tofu yakisoba every time. Before that, I would get the spicy salmon teriyaki, which I thought was pretty tasty. But the yakisoba, oh, the yakisoba.

This review is only for the teriyaki: avoid. The teriyaki chicken looks like it was boiled without touching a frying pan. Pretty dry and the«spicy sauce» is basically a mix of canned tomatoes with soy sauce and sugar. The plate was covered in a watery sauce.

I’ve been here a handful of times but hace come realize I just should have gone somewhere else. Prices are reasonable but quality is about the same as QFC. I’ll remind myself next time I have a sushi craving to probably go somewhere else.

I got the Georgetown Bento Box and it was the worse thing I’ve eaten all week. The chicks karage was like a fried chicken breast with very little to no Breading. The beef was very chewy and the pork katsu had a lot of tendon that made the texture very difficult to eat. Will not come back and sadly Unilocal let me down on this one.

Had a few interesting veggie options from here. Not bad but nothing amazing. I do like their noodles and atleast they have a decent sized menu. Easy to order from and friendly. I wouldn’t avoid the place but it isn’t a «go to».

I love this place it’s super casual and really cheap! I’m super picky regarding sushi and it’s always fresh and the cuts of fish are huge. No skimping on quality just good food at a great price. It’s kind of a self serve counter spot with a simple atmosphere but always clean and fresh. Lots of rolls to choose from. It’s definitely better than mall or chain sushi places but it’s not a high end place by any means. But if you want fresh simple and quick it’s great. It’s easy to take kids here but it’s small and usually busy.

Very Affordable food, great quality for the price you pay. Definitely not gourmet sushi, but $ 11 chirashi is hard to beat. Also it’s near to Costco and has parking. Might make this part of my monthly trip. If there’s anything I’ve learned… It’s not to go to Costco hungry.

Great little Japanese restaurant in the Georgetown district. Stopped here prior to heading to the great pumpkin beer festival. Wasn’t expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. They’ve got great bento boxes ranging from $ 9 – 15. I got the Samurai bento box which came with shoyu ginger pork, shrimp fry, salmon, beef croquette, tuna roll, salad and miso soup. Great deal! My sushi roll was decent, and I tried some of my friend’s specialty rolls which were decent as well. I’d definitely stop by again for the great bento combos, not necessarily the sushi rolls though.

Eh. A quickie sushi place. The locale is small, but you can certainly find seating. What you do is order at the counter, and the food will be brought out. The sushi was hurriedly made(as evident by it falling apart), and the quantity was on the lower end. Was my experience a runoff one since this place seems to be pretty popular with the locals?! I do think this place sits right at a solid 3 star experience: food, service, atmosphere. The gentleman behind the counter had no personality, but I suppose it’s bc he was busily doing his job since the staffing level is low according to my friend in the area. The atmosphere is simply chill, like that of a sushi place at the mall. There is a designated parking area for Cutting Board, but spaces are limited.

3.5 stars Cutting Board is a decent sushi spot down south. We had a big group, which was kind of hard for the casual restaurant format. You have to go up to the counter to order and get your own water. The chirsashi seemed like a good deal at $ 12 but there’s only about 6 pieces of sashimi in there so I thought it was just ok. I also got a side of flying fish roe and tomago and all the sushi was fresh. There’s a big variety of food here including cooked dishes. The service here is really slow. All in all, this is a decent casual sushi spot. It’s nothing fancy but it seems decent for it’s style and prices.

Perfect for: weekday sushi, sushi with kids or vegetarian friends, lunch. It’s a great every-day sushi spot with a ton of no-seafood roll options. Reasonable price and pretty fresh salmon and yellowtail. Pay-ahead style is perfect with young kids as you can exit quickly when they are done. Water is self-serve.

Delicious and fresh fish. I had the chirashi and spider roll. I loved them both. Seating was a bit limited, it seemed like getting more than one group together could be a challenge. But great for a lunch/dinner date! I don’t eat sushi often but I am glad that this is so close to work. Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu!

The place is located off of airport way. Seemingly hipster and cool… Exploring the neighborhood decided to try this place out, especially since I was craving sushi. You order at the counter and pay. They bring you the food. The water station was a little bit dirty… I don’t know. I was personally a little grossed out. My husband ordered a yaki-udon dish. It wasn’t very good either. Service was nice and everyone was friendly.

I’m sorry but I think I’ve found my first 1 star review. I’ve never felt so underwhelmed in life when reading Unilocal and eating at a «restaurant». Don’t go with a restaurant mentality And 4 star average? I’m curious if Unilocal has lost it’s god damn mind? Did we eat the same food? I felt like I was in Kitchen Nightmares saying everything I ate was crap! Some people said this place was cheap. I got 3 rolls, curry and udon noodles for $ 42+ tip(I don’t tip McDonald’s when I place an order at a counter and get my own drinks+ seat myself+ get my own sauces but whatever). I can deal with the plastic cups, the do it yourself seating and taking care of our own napkins and such. I can deal with the Spanish workers making my Sushi and Udon. What I can’t stand is shit quality food. The seared«salmon» had 0 freshness to it, the sear looked like crap, seriously what the hell? It didn’t taste good at all, how do you f up Salmon that bad? The California rolls(eh, it was happy hour) weren’t impressive as well, as my gf would sum it up, «They brought the food over and the sushi just fell apart». The Spicy Tuna rolls were probably the best thing we ate. Now, the udon broth was good, but the scallops and chicken taste off, like they were frozen and just dropped in. Hell the noodles were rubbery, coming from being a Japanese food culture advocate this place sucks if you’re expecting that taste. Ate as much as I could. I got the Japanese curry as well, I didn’t know what to expect but it’s pretty much like Indian curry or some Thai curries. Not impressed. I think this place caters to the diversity of the community of Georgetown being predominately white people who have no palette for Asian foods. Someone said the food was fresh, I can microwave a pork bun and put it on your plate and you’d think that’s fresh. This place is a crap non authentic teriyaki joint that tries to do too much plain and simple. God damnit Unilocal,you failed me pretty bad this time. FYI Happy hour is just .50 off certain items, don’t bother.
