Was not happy with other cobblers. Glad I found this place. The did more than I asked in a really good way.

Just a few days ago my wife received a pair of handmade leather shoes new in the mail. A stitch was loose and would likely destroy her new shoes. Since these guy’s were in the neighborhood I suggested that my wife go in and see what could be done. She was amazed at how friendly and fast they were. This is the way a business should be run if I can give these guys more than 5 stars I would, thanks again!

Great experience with Dave Page, who repaired a pair of boots damaged by an interaction with fire after an extremely wet WV backpacking trip. Fast turnaround and nice looking work, saved the boots from the trash. If I ever need any of my Asolo’s resoled, I’ll know who to call. Thanks.

Good work. Had a patch put on one of my boots that I had worn a hole into. The shop looks like they do a ton of business, with shoes just piled up everywhere. I was surprised how easily they found my boots when I went to pick them up! When I dropped my boots off the man who I think was the owner was a bit… Straight forward to the point of rude. I got the feeling that he had no time for someone who didn’t know much about cobbling, which I didn’t. He answered my questions with a bit of a huff. That’s why only four stars. I will say, when I went back I was ready to go on the defensive if he was there and rude to me, but instead a younger lady helped me to pay my bill and get my boots and she was very pleasant.

I’ve never been to a cobbler before, usually I just buy cross trainers and buy new shoes after a few months. Finally bought some boots and needed to have the heels replaced. Boots came out awesome, they feel brand new and the work on the heel is seriously impressive. They also cleaned and it seems like they treated the leather with something too. Nice and reasonable, $ 30 for boots that are ready for winter and feel brand new. Only beef was that my boots were a week late. Not a huge deal.

I have a pair of Asolo hiking books I bought in 2002 and finally this year, the sole gave out. Nevermind that the soles themselves were starting to wear thin too, but literally the bedding underneath the sole gave out.
Since my feet really love these boots, I wasn’t interested in buying another pair. Instead of looking through Unilocal,I called the manufacturer to see if they did sole repairs. They gave me two names and numbers. The one on the West coast was Dave Page.
So the process was pretty straight forward: send Dave your info via email form of what you want done and send him your boots. I sent him some pics and I’m sure that helped. He emailed me when he got my boots (which was really cool), and then gave me an estimated complete date.
I received the boots and can’t be happier! My beloved Asolo’s are back in business. Can’t wait to use them again. He replaced them with Vibram soles. The boot laces don’t match the old ones, so I ended up using the old ones again as they still are in good shape. Always nice to have a back up pair of laces.

Ok so I haven’t had any shoes repaired here but I needed some notches/​holes put into my leather belt and he was able to do it right then and there– and for free! Next time I need some shoes repaired Im coming here. They also have some parking spots on the side of the building.

Wow! The soles were delaminating on my favorite/​most comfortable/​blister free) Asolos. Dave inspected my uppers, removed the insoles (telling me I should always remove after hiking to dry out), then said «they’ll be ready next week». NEW BOOTS!!! Beautiful, and still comfy. Really a great job, they look better than when new, & the grip is wonderful. Thank you Dave!

Daves incredible! Had two pairs of hiking books that had some seams tearing out and need them turned around fast. Sent them up to him UPS and got them back in less than two weeks. Superb craftsmanship, reasonable price. Don’t know of anyone on the West Coast who can do this type of work as well as he does. Worth the trouble or shipping it to him.

Just recently moved to Seattle, and after trying a few different shops, and told my boots couldn’t be fixed the way I wanted them, I found Dave page cobbler. They fixed my boots are, and they turned out excellent! They are now my most comfortable work boots. My boots were done on time, and everybody there was very friendly, and polite.

I popped in to see if they could fix my dog’s leather leash that needed some new stitching on the handle — Emma did a fantastic job with the stitching, and, did it for free! This is the kind of small local business that I love and want to make sure stays around our town. Next time my shoes fall apart, this is where I will go, no question!

I have taken a few pairs of Cydwoqs to be repaired or resoled at many reputable shoe repair/​cobblers around Seattle throughout the years. I just got 2 pairs back and the work is better quality than I’ve ever seen on these same boots.

I purchased my beloved pair of Aku boots in 2005. Break-​in period was about the time it took to lace them up. My trusty boots have served me well for 10 years, and I put them through as much abuse as you can imagine. I currently wear them for work on a beach. Between the sand, salt water, and heat, the soles fell apart. I glued them back together with Freesole a number of times, but it just didn’t hold up.
A new pair would cost anywhere from $ 220 – 300, plus tax, insoles, etc. etc., so I sent them to Dave. For $ 95, including all shipping costs, my boots are usable again! Are they pretty? No. Will they work in the sand and salt water and protect my feet? I hope so! The new soles did change the feel of the boots slightly, though I think that’s more to do with them now having soles, rather than not. Here’s to another 10 years (fingers crossed), old friends!
The glue is visible and there are a couple spots on the uppers where glue was wiped off and left a film. If you care about that kind of thing, keep shopping. Personally, my boots get so covered in sand and mud I really don’t care. The new soles are heavy duty Vibrams and aren’t falling off any time soon.
Total time, including shipping, was about 2 weeks. I emailed him before I sent them and he said in shop it time is about a week.
Like many other reviews have said, Dave Page is a man of few words and does good work. I asked direct questions and got direct answers. No nonsense. No fluff. Just hiking boots. Done.

I’m a little late with the review, but wanted to give Dave some credit for the work he did. I had a pair of Asolo boots resoled by him back in May. I shipped them from NYC on May 5^th and had them back in hand by May 21^st. More than reasonable, considering shipping times.
My first test of the boots was with crampons on an ice climbing trip, which puts a whole lot of stress on the sole. They held up perfectly — not much else I could ask for. If I have any issues boots in the future they’ll be taking a trip to Dave.

Dave did a great job bringing my beloved Vasque hiking boots back to life. Used them extensively over this Thanksgiving holiday exploring parts of Rocky Mountain National Park and they performed better than new.

Two pairs of my favorite boots have a new lease on life! The leather & rubber combo heels/​bottoms were falling apart and what were once very nice boots began to look rather sad. I took them in to Dave who explained how the wet weather in Seattle causes the leather to expand and fall apart and how he could fix them. They were shipped back to me and they look just like new! $ 80 to do both pairs with shipping and tax. A fair deal from a shop I can trust to do good work for two pairs of nice boots costing several hundred dollars each to be wearable again. Totally worth the money.
Do not go into this shop expecting to be coddled! It just isn’t that kind of place (not a 4 star restaurant). Set your expectations ahead: honest, expert, solid work for a fair price with straightforward, intelligent service (no group hugs). Judge for yourself by the piles of technical sporting shoes in the shop who trusts Dave with their most important shoe needs!

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve never had such a bad customer experience in my life. The man may do good work according to the other reviews on here but I didn’t even get to that point. I called inquiring about my hiking boots and asked if the repair could be in 2 days. At first I got a «yes» and then when I asked if I could get them in the morning on the second day as I am leaving for a hiking trip, I got a «no» with no explanation. Apparently Dave doesn’t like when you ask why (no matter how polite) because he hung up on me. I got a «look, I obviously cant help you. Thanks for calling.» CLICK. I read other reviews on here saying that he’s short and to the point, but this was down right rude.
Honestly, the guy is obviously relying on REI references and thinks he can treat customers like crap because of it. REI shouldn’t send their customers over to him simply due to the fact that he is a direct reflection of their company every time they write a referral. I appreciate them taking the time to write a referral in the first place, but not if they’re sending me to someone who obviously has no concept of customer service. A shoe repair is a shoe repair; it’s not like the guy performs magic. There are a ton of cobblers in the Seattle area that will not only fix your shoe problem, but give you outstanding customer service as well. Don’t go to Dave. This goes without mentioning that I got my boot repaired in ONE DAY by another cobbler (admiral shoe repair) who was more than happy to help.

From Unilocal,it seems Dave is go-​to guy for sports footwear.
THE REPAIRS:
— A pair of La Sportiva Nagos that had a split in the toe area. He recommended a half resole, and special repair for the split.
— A reheel of leather boots, where the previous repaired heels (from Emerald City Shoe Repair… don’t go there) had just fallen off within a month
PRICE:
— $ 37+tax for ONE pair of climbing shoes.
I brought up the other reviewer who said he got two pairs resoled for that price, but it must have been a typo. Dave didn’t think anyone would do the job for that low. Compare to $ 100+ for new shoes.
— $ 20+tax for the boots
PARKING: There’s paid 2 hour parking and a free 30 minute loading zone in front of the shop.
QUALITY: Happy customer overall!

But since I am me, I will ramble a little:
Amazingly fast and professional work.
I sent my La Sportiva Mythos in after busting through the sole. After 3 days I got an email saying that my shoes had arrived and they would start work the next day. I got them back less than a week later. I got a nice new layer of Vibram XS Grip. These puppies are like-​new again. They make me feel, they make me feel so shiny and new… like a virgin, OH!
I’m fairly certain that Dave Page wouldn’t approve of the Madonna reference. A few people say he is too straight forward. I don’t think there should be a such thing as too straight forward. He was fast, efficient, and didn’t try to sell me on anything I didn’t need.
Total price for two shoe resoles and shipping, $ 37. Best money I have spent in a while.
