Dog’s Day Out

We took our reactive rescue dog through Danette’s Difficult Dog class twice (he’s a tough case!) and it was a great experience both times. She is a wonderful trainer and her positive methods have really worked well for our boy. Walks are no longer scary and stressful for us. Highly recommend her for any dog training needs.

We enrolled our smart but stubborn/​sassy puppy in Danette’s Basics class and loved it. She was very knowledgeable and we will definitely be back for a specialty class like Tricks or Nosework.

Danette is the best. Danette’s insight on understanding dog behavior is excellent.

I love Danette. After a really disappointing experience with a puppy class at a different school, we thought our dog was hopeless. Then I found Danette’s difficult dog class. It felt so good to find a «diagnosis» for our pup. Danette is such a good teacher and so amazing with both people and pups!
Now that we can see a light and the end of «reactive dog tunnel», I can’t wait to try out more classes!

My rescue, Nicki, and I just completed basic obedience training with Danette. She is great. She understands dogs and she understands owners. Both get needed training. She is fun, upbeat and caring. I learned a lot and plan to be back for more training for both Nicky and myself. If you are looking for an instructor, you can’t find any better than Danette.

My dog and I have done the Basics class and weekly daycare at Dogs Day Out. I could not be more impressed.
First, the Basics class. I’m a new dog owner and needed A LOT of training– the dog needed some too. Danette was not only a great instructor, but was patient with my new-​kid panicky e-​mails. At the end of 6 weeks, my dog was much calmer and happier because he knew what I wanted from him. The class is easy to understand and effective. We’re going to be enrolling in more classes in the future!
Second, the Day Care. I liked bringing him to doggy daycare, but didn’t have a good frame of reference. There were a couple slightly more convenient daycares that were open weekends and did boarding so I thought I’d try those to see what we thought. Never. Again. The following are things I didn’t know to appreciate about Dogs Day Out before trying the alternative:
–It does not smell like dog pee, therefore my dog does not come home smelling like dog pee.
–There is an outdoor play area
–They limit the number of dogs they allow so everyone gets enough space and attention. You have to have reservations to do daycare.
–They expect good behavior from my dog, so he comes back better behaved than when I drop him off
–They know my dog as well as I know my dog, if not better and they love him.
We’re loyal Dogs Day Out-​ers forevermore– seriously cannot say enough good things about their services and everyone who works there.

Danette rocks! Took the basics class with her and will be back for more. Such a fun atmosphere and caring instructor. You won’t regret signing up for classes with her.

If I could give Danette 10 stars, I would! She is so amazing. We have a very difficult shiba inu mix that has been challenging for us. Danette was very attentive to all the dogs in the class and perfectly balancing time among all dogs. When we had an incident with our dog, she called us right away even though she didn’t have to! She proceeded to give us advice and guidance over the phone, taking 30 minutes out of her day when she didn’t have to. She genuinely cares about the well being and results you will see with your dog! She has a pleasant personality that is very approachable and welcoming. Her advice and steps to training have made a world of difference for us in a short amount of time. Granted, it’s not magic, you have to work with your dog outside the class, but she gives you the tools, resources and knowledge to do so. Danette is a wonderful find in a world full of trainers that usually just want your money and don’t care if you see results. Beyond satisfied with our experience and I disrespect anyone that says differently! This is the woman you want training your dog! Call her, you won’t regret it!

I don’t know what we would do without Dog’s Day Out — our puppy goes twice a week and not only does he get play time, learn social skills, but they reenforce his basic obedience training! I love that there are only 15 dogs, and I adore the staff — it’s a wonderful place. Kona has also taken the basic obendience classe and it was positive and structured– and taught my husband and I the tools we needed. Danette is great, and we will be doing further training and fun stuff — like Tricks! and K9 Nosework. I highly recomend DDO for doggie daycare and for great training.

My family has taken three of our dogs for basic obedience training at Dog’s Day Out. All of the classes have been extremely helpful in learning positive training skills. Danette, the owner, is a fantastic trainer – great with dogs of all temperaments as well as people. Her classes are well structured and the handouts helped reinforce what we learned in class.
Two of our dogs – a tenacious Bull Terrier and a Chihuahua/​Terrier– «graduated» to difficult training class because of their reactive nature toward other dogs and people. In addition to the group classes, Danette worked with me one-​on-​one when I needed extra support with a rescue dog who had fear-​based people issues and bit a child. She was very responsive and greatly reduced my anxiety and increased my confidence by offering proactive suggestions to prevent more incidents.
I highly recommend Dog’s Day Out’s training classes for people who are new dog owners as well as seasoned ones with all ages of dogs.

Dog’s Day Out is my savior! My 1 year old pug goes to doggy day care here 2 days a week and its fantastic. He comes home really tired (!) after playing all day and I actually get to relax with him without all of his extra puppy energy!
My favorite things about DDO is that they limit the number of dogs allowed each day to 15. A lot of other places crate the dogs most of the day with a few short free play sessions which is why I stay away from them. But at DDO with this limit, there’s a better human to dog ratio and they don’t have to spend any time in a crate, they are free to roam and play outside in the bark-​chip yard or inside (couch or play room) all day.
The staff is also really nice, always enthusiastic to see my pup, and I trust them to take care of him. I would definitely recommend DDO to anyone!

Love Dog’s Day Out. Great Training. My dog has gone here for doggie day care once a week since he was a puppy. They don’t over book day care, so you dog is going to get a human that isn’t overwhelmed by dogs and has some background in dog training.
Vs. places that smell like dog crap and are only in it for a profit, so they will take on too many dogs and hire anyone that will clean up pee.
Classes are great and affordable. The puppy class is a must

My Pug Otis attended ‘camp’ at DDO once a week for three years and it was great for him. He stopped going because I now have him at work each day so he isn’t home alone.
One of the original doggie daycares in Seattle, DDO distinguishes itself with its down to earth (not trendy) approach. When I first brought my dog, I wasn’t sure how a little guy would do with all of the big boys. Owner Danette eased my mind by explaining that they are qualified dog trainers, have strict rules of behavior, and never have more than 12 – 14 dogs on site.
Otis always came home exhausted and happy. A dog’s life for sure.
