Forget Napa, Sonoma, and Mendoza, Jason makes top tier wine that stands out against even old vine. His passion for wine and selection along with really reasonable pricing make this spot a win-win for any occasion in which one can enjoy wine… Which is to say that there is never a bad time for wine. Go here. Now. Though Ballard has a rep for microbrews this spot is local Washington wine where you can buy a bottle from te husband and wife who grow the wine themselves. Also, their knowledge of wine would impress even the most staunch oenophile you know, except they are 100% without pretense. Salud!

This place has fantastic red wines. The bartender was really nice and awesome here. We came very close to closing time and they let us stay for as long as we wanted an kept the wine coming. The reds are delicious and I would highly recommend this place to any wine lover. The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired but that doesn’t matter as the wine is just wonderful.

Couldn’t get to Woodinville because of road closures so took some out of town friends here as part of a local winery, distillery, brewery day. I’m so glad we did! It was a perfect way to enjoy some delicious wine & good company. This very unpretentious tasting spot allows you to bring food/snacks and Jason was great at explaining the wines offered and telling us some interesting stories. Will definitely be back for their delicious & reasonably priced wines.

This winery is a hidden Ballard gem! Jason and Jill make amazing wines and create a cozy, communal atmosphere in which to enjoy them. I never leave the tasting room without chatting with a new«friend» or two. As stated earlier, the wines are top notch. Last summer, they produced a rose that even my staunch anti-rose friends loved. In fact, it became the drink of choice for several tubing trips down the Yakima River. You are welcome to bring in food or you can order from Ballard Pizza Company(they deliver) and they often even have a food truck visiting!

Just discovered Domanico’s today while touring several wineries in Seattle. Loved the wine, the atmosphere, and the prices. The wines run from about $ 15 to $ 25 and struck me as great values. We bought a red and white. They are open on Wednesday and Friday evenings and welcome guests to bring in food– it’s like Fremont Brewery for wine drinkers. We will definitely go back!

Domanico Cellars is a great small family owned and operated winery that focuses on red and whites. Jill and Jason welcome visitors to the cozy warehouse for samples of their latest creations. They keep it local here in Ballard; Domanico Cellars is open during the Ballard Art Walk events where they invite local artist show off there art in the winery. I would recommend the Riesling when available. They have recently bought a Vineyard and it will be interesting to see what they create next.

Domanico has excellent wines and is as local as it gets! Jason(the winemaker) and Jill made my wife and our friends feel very welcome when we rolled over for the most recent release(in ’10) weekend. We enjoyed the tasting as well as the chocolate /cheese that they shared. But mostly we enjoyed the ability to purchase a couple of bottles and relax with our friends and some great wine in the sunshine. The Domanicos were willing to answer all of our questions about their wines(and wine in general) and were such friendly, accomodating people that we will definitely be back for the next release weekend, and hopefully for some more cases of Le Monstre! I’m told that they also host private events.

I wish I could give Domanico’s more than 5 stars! They are that awesome. Jill and Jason are super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. They pour free tastings for about 4 wines, and all of them are super tasty. Glasses are $ 5 and the crowd is usually full of locals who are very friendly and in the mood for a laid back, Friday night. Great place to just hang out with some great wine in a relaxed atmosphere on a Friday night. I can not say enough about how I absolutely love this place!!!

This place is awesome — and right in the heart of Ballard! I was very pleased with our recent discovery. Check out their website:
The owners are Jill and Jason Domanico, so it’s a family owned local business. The husband and wife owners are super cute — and very socially conscious. Grapes are carefully curated and then made into wine. They allow their employees to create their own special unique blends to keep as a perk — and these are not for sale. Check out their wine tastings — Saturdays on 12 – 6 on Saturdays. I hear they have free ones the first Friday of the month, too. Our favorites that I really loved was the Le fFirt + the Le Monstre. Mmm… vino.

On a trip to Seattle from LA last year, we stopped in at Domanico Cellars and had some of the most amazing wine! Jill & Jason really know what they’re doing; their tasting room is warm and inviting. We loved the wine so much that we ordered a few cases for our holiday party. Guess which wines were the most popular: Domanico Cellars! We ordered more for another annual party in March, and we’re looking forward to featuring Domanico Cellars again this year at our holiday soirée. The CA wine snobs are shocked to discover that the yummy wine they’re drinking is from WA state. Delightful!

What a great way to jump-start the weekend… Washington wine, and close to home! We stepped into Domanico Cellars and were greeted with enthusiasm. The surroundings and personalities were inviting, and we were very happy with the wines. We tried the Chenin Blanc, Le Flirt(their Merlot), Mesa Rojo(red blend), ’07 Cab Sauv, and ’06 Cab Sauv. The Mesa Rojo was my favorite, and I knew I would buy a few bottles of that one. But the Cab Sauv(both ’06 and ’07) were so flavorful as well. The wine is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere and social interaction were the combination we were looking for at the end of a long work week.

What an amazing Ballard discovery! This is a small, family owned and operated winery. What’s cuter than a husband/wife team? With hand picked, hand sorted, gently crushed grapes, this team of two blends some of their wines.(They informed me that this is pretty unusual in the industry.) They have a few wines to sample including their 2007 vintages that just released. Free wine tastings are on the 1st Friday of the month from 5 – 9 and Saturdays from 12 – 6.
