DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Seattle Airport

For the amount of money i paid to stay here for one night, i would at least expect parking to be free but they charge an additional $ 24 on top of my bill. The room was $ 400+ already and after coming in from a Residence Inn in Portland and paying easily $ 100 less, the Residence Inn was hands down a way better stay. They had free parking, complimentary breakfast, and the room was much nicer and more comfortable. If u can find another hotel, do it away from this Double Tree.

We booked this hotel to get some rest between a late night flight and early flight at 6:30 the next day. We stood in line about 40 minutes just to check in as they had only one check in person working. We then had to wait about two hours for a room because they didn’t have any available. It was a horrible experience — they gave us a dinner voucher and a voucher for a nights stay to use another time. It didn’t make up for how exhausted and miserable we were. We were continuously told our room would be ready in first 45 minutes, then only another 15 minutes and so on. It was very frustrating. I recommend no one book this place if you hope to get any sleep after a long day of travel. We were so unhappy, please book elsewhere and avoid ending up like us.

We were not impress with this $ 190 per night hotel. The ice machine on our floor was broken. The toilet had to be fixed 3 times. The room was outdated with popcorn ceiling and 80’s inspired furnishings. The only positive was the free Wi-​Fi.

Geez — had a room looking over Bow Lake, really pretty. Easily a 5 star experience… the service is across the board horrible. I am not interested in going into the details, but it was across the board.

Nice big room. Lobby and restaurants were a long walk. Horrible customer service if you had to call in fir anything. Our key card to out room stopped working 3 times while we were there and had to wait 30 minutes outside our room with 2 kids under 5. Was unacceptable and they didn’t even say they were sorry. We booked through Hotwire and it didn’t tell us that parking was $ 24 a night! Close to light rail but no direct shuttle. Restaurant was great and great service there. Would not recommend to anyone!
Last, hot tub wasn’t even hot when we used it.

Pros: nice size room, separate bathroom and sink which was nice.
Cons: charges for parking also have to go through several gates to get in. 4 wings to the hotel. They provide a map to guide you to your room. They charge for breakfast as well.

Nice hotel in a convenient location, I had a conference to attend that was held within the hotel.
My room was nice. Don’t expect to be able to take a hot shower though. In the three nights I was there I don’t think once the water got hot.

I wish there were a way to give half stars on this site.
My review is 2 fold:
The staff is wonderful at this hotel for the largest side. I thoroughly enjoy’d seeing Kelly, Rachel, etc. as well as those restaurant staff that have known me since my first Norwescon (2002 in my case)
They were friendly as always and Rachel was very understanding re the violin bit.
The criticisms I have for this year are:
My fostermother NanaCat and I are both sensitive to marijuana smoke, and while it is very true that it should be legal in all states, we were both quite concerned by cause in order to get to our room in the 5^th suite (on the ground floor) we had to walk thro’ a coupla hallways of a ‘party wing’ where some of the people who partake must have been smoking IN the bedroom rather than outside where it’s safer for more people. I had a great deal of trouble keeping myself from not going into full trance walking through the hallway and I have been prone to grand mal seizures FROM marijuana smoke including in recent history (though thankfully at this Norwescon I didn’t seize and neither did NanaCat).
It would be lovely to see some sort of shift to require that all smokers – of anything – do so only outside in the designated areas rather than inside the bedrooms where it can float in2 the hallways easily. Other than that, our stay was lovely.
Thanks, SeaTac DoubleTree. I hope to come see you for Norwes for another 2 or more decades yet to come. OR longer. :)

the place is sometimes 140 $ a room up to 500 $ itryed that 500 worth room the bath tub has great impact on me its big and ilike it just ask for upgrade if they can offer you they always do that
and its availability it always has specialy if you dont see lots of people coming inn
the parking 20 $ per night meanwhile across the street on day light jack in the box is free for customers
L and L hawaiian is my favorite place to park there back side has free parking
the stop light accross the street not fix its always red it took me 24 mins before i realize wait car in front of me all stop and im just so pretty there looking at me lol that when I thought its time to cat walk ahhaha

A solid ‘Meh’ for the Double Tree. I will not be staying here again.
When I stayed at the Double Tree, there was a convention happening. Since I was staying at the hotel, I wanted to use the valet parking, and I was happy to pay. I knew things were crowded, but I checked the parking lot to ensure there was space before I went to the valet parking. When I went to go to valet parking, I was told there were no more spaces available. Even from the valet area, there were several visible places to park, but they refused to park me. I parked myself, but my room was so far away from where I had to park. I wouldn’t have minded, but I still don’t understand why there is no room when I can see many open spots.
Check in for the room was also harrowing. 3 PM was the check in time. 3 PM came around– no room. We were told we would be called when the room was clean. We also said we’d be willing to take a different room, we didn’t care where, and the hotel staff said they would call us. After a while and no call, we took it upon ourselves to ask the front desk person if our room was ready (it wasn’t), and if there were any rooms open– guess what, there were! Thanks so much for calling like you said you would Double Tree… not…
The room wasn’t that nice, and I found the service lacking. Luckily, there are many other choices around the area, including a Hampton Inn across the street that has free breakfast and free internet and a much nicer room for much less.

Nice doubletree hotel next to sea-​tac airport and close enough to downtown Seattle. The hotel is huge and it can be hard to get around at first especially finding where you park. Oh yeah, they charge for parking unless you are Hilton diamond. Overall nice hotel and rooms.

Nice hotel, it’s clean and the staff was very nice!
The reason I give it three stars is that they charge you for every little thing. Want breakfast? It starts at $ 10 a plate. Want wifi? Same thing.
The thing that really frustrated me was the cleaning ladies started coming into my room at 8am while I was sleeping. They didn’t knock, just walked in and freaked me and my husband out, I told them I’d be out at noon, but they came back an hour later, and another hour after that, not knocking, just trying to open the door and barge in.
Oh well. It was only a one night stay at this place, but I wouldn’t want to stay longer, because that’d mean more interrupted sleep and no wifi.

The double tree goes above and beyond to accommodate me every time I stay. The tower rooms are the best! The restaurant is really good. The staff are amazing! They always remember me and welcome me back. This is my go to hotel in Seatac.
Balthazar at the front desk is my favorite employee!!!

The service is great and your welcomed with an awesome cookie.
The bar has a great selection and the food was really good too. I had the burger and it was legit. The bun was the perfect vehicle to escort the meat and cheese into you mouth. The meat had great flavor and the fries were awesome too! Kudos Chef!!!

I stay here a lot and ai have never had issues.

Clean-​comfy beds and they have a duvet!

Stayed here for one night as a layover, and used points — picked it because (a) it was close to the airport, and (b) it offered a stay with the lowest number of points (20,000 on this night).
The shuttle came fairly quick, and rotates on a 20 minute basis — leaves the hotel every 20 minutes on the hour, and picks up at the airport approximately 5 – 15 minutes later depending on traffic and your location. In this case, we only had to wait about 5 minutes to get picked up, at most.
The shuttle was packed full, but most of it was air crew (which have a separate check-​in desk), so check-​in was fairly quick around 10:00pm on this Tuesday evening. Our room, a king standard with balcony, was on the second floor in the third wing. This place is a bit of a maze, but isn’t too tricky, and they give you a map at check-​in.
The room itself was of good size. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean. It wasn’t modern by any means, and I can see some people calling it tired (both the common areas and the rooms are right on the border between okay and tired), but it was comfortable and quiet.
I am not sure if I would want to stay a week here, but one night was perfect. The morning shuttle back to the airport was easy and quick. No experience with food, bar, or anything other than the room itself.

I had a couple things that stood out on my visit that were disappointing. My room was very loud. The seal on my balcony door had a gap and I could here the airplanes taking off and landing at the airport. The mattress was hard and not very comfortable. The lighting in the room was inadequate, especially in the bathrooms. The fitness center only had one exercise floor mat. The TV remote was so difficult to operate I gave up on trying to watch TV.
I did enjoy the nice linens and pillows and the complimentary cookie and water.
The architecture and landscaping was very pretty in a Japanese garden kinda way.

If you’re on vacation or try to generally enjoy your life, avoid this hotel. The rooms are fine (3 – 4 stars, depending on the room), but the folks running this place have a mean streak I never want to encounter again.
After bidding on Priceline for an affordable place during our drive down to Portland, I was surprised with a reservation to DoubleTree — I’ve used the Name Your Price feature a billion times elsewhere, and have never landed a hotel that extorts their guests with a $ 21/​day parking «incidental» — effectively tacking on a 30% overhead that they could have just included in the room rate and been transparent about. With no where else in the area to park, they really have you stuck between a rock and a hard place.
An hour on the phone with Doubletree and Priceline gained nothing. It was almost like I should have thanked them for not maxing out my credit card while they had me on the line. Abby the chirpy online chat agent faired no better — I may as well have been trying to negotiate debts with a mafia Don.
In the end, we forfeited, and enjoyed our room for the night. The bed was comfy and the room had a balcony, which was nice. The coffee maker was broken and blew boiling water everywhere in the morning, which seemed a fitting end to our otherwise explosive experience with Doubletree.

I was not happy with my stay here.
Came here for a national conference and there were just so many problems with this hotel. I was on the conference staff team and we had to fight with the management to get the materials we needed. They would charge a ridiculous amount of money for just about anything. They would charge us to move chairs, even though we paid for the ballrooms. In fact we had to coordinate with times because other conferences were going on at the same time which restricted us to using certain rooms.
They would charge a ridiculous amount to use AV system, have rooms ready for workshops, keynote sessions, … just about anything.
The hotel itself is confusing! It’s shaped like an X so every time I walked down a hallway and went upstairs, I would always end up on the other side. No idea how this happens but let me tell you, it’s so easy to get lost.
For a Hilton hotel name, they seriously need to work on the Wi-​Fi situation. Obviously conferences will be held here. Get with the program and provide the internet when it’s needed. For a well known hotel with a high name, I would assume the internet would be decent.
The only pros about this hotel is the cookies. The Starbucks. The shuttles to and from the airport.

Formerly the Red Lion, the Doubletree here retains the sprawling footprint of the Red Lion all under the DT branding.
The Tower section has the more updated & contemporary rooms consistent with othet Doubletree properties. The other ‘Concourses’ that longtime visitors would recognize as the Red Lion might find the rooms as a little dated. It’s all clean, but dated and somewhat below the DoubleTree standards I have enjoyed at other DT properties. The plus side of the older section is that its easily accessible from the parking lot as the tallest floor is Level Three. Further, the layout/​footprint is spread wide. The downside of that is it can be a long walk from the lobby. Also, only 3 floors above the parking lot, you can expect some parking lot noise unless you’re on the interior (recommended) courtyard side
Interior to the wings is a lovely courtyard where the pool is located. Picturesque and somewhat resort-like…though the weather may hinder any extended leisure in the chaise lounges.
There are a number of dining options within easy walking distance. I have sampled the Café for breakfast on the most inclement mornings, but have found it mediocre yet quite pricey.
