Came in to only see 3 guys peering through the kitchen pass-through at us without a smile or a greeting. Stood for a few minutes until the bartender came over and seated us. We were the only people there. The place lacks any ambiance. No music, cold temperature in winter. I ordered the mushroom burger and watched as the cook prepared my sandwich. Twice he ran his bare hands through his large amount of hair while assembling my burger. All the time, as second kitchen helper talked loudly to him while wiping his nose. No hand washing or gloves here. When I got my burger I picked it up to inspect it, and noticed a large amount of water streaming out of from between the buns. I squeezed the burger lightly and the mushrooms yielded about a 1⁄3 cup of water onto my plate. I tried to taste the mushroom but it was completely lacking in flavor and only delivered more water. When the bartender came over and asked how our food was, I showed him and said it was terrible. He replied«Oh, ok» and went back to the bar, completely dismissing my comment. Since then, I notice that there are hardly any customers in the place when I bicycle by. I can’t see ever going back there again.

This is one of those places where your experience depends, in my opinion, above all on which dish you order. The burgers seem to be pretty good. The tacos… left me despairing, empty, and crestfallen. Then again, if you drink enough beforehand it really doesn’t matter. If you’re a wise tactician, you’ll enjoy yourself here every time. Occasionally they offer this thing called the Daedalus Stout(I think in Late-Winter, Early-Spring), which is just magnificent and should be available year round, FORTHELOVEOFGOD!

Elysian beers are great the food here is good too! Much better calmer location compared to the Capitol Hill location

I have been to Elysian a couple of times now and find that it is missing the feeling of a neighborhood pub with notable character or distinction. As a brewery or gastropub, the service lacks enthusiasm for their products. Only Elysian beers are offered, but the selection is diverse enough with a range from light to dark including the odd seasonal, sour, or cider. On both visits, I have found the food and service to be lackluster. The $ 12BLT was served aggresively toasted and abrasive on the mouth. The chile verde was a greasy soup with a dry and rushed pulled pork. It has some good flavor to it, but served with tortilla chips both on the side, and in the chile. I can’t imagine why someone would want to alternate between eating crispy chips and soppy chips. Imagine a bowl of cereal a quarter filled with milk and left to sit for 10 minutes. I want to enjoy Elysian because of its location, but I have yet to find a reason to.

Went here with family, I like it OK. Spacious restaurant with dark ambiance but for me is plain, no interior designs. Food were OK as well. it’s OK. Nothing really special. Kind staff. Good cocktails.

Place has the worst customer service ever! We walk in and the bartenders see us. No one greets or welcomes. We have to flag down someone to seat us. And by the way, not a busy night. We wait 10 min at our table watching the waiters pass us by several times with no acknowledgment. There are two waiters straight in front just yapping their mouths. One looks at me several times and still nothing. We get up to leave and no one bats an eye, but they rush to seat the new customer that walked in as we were heading out! ***an observation… I was the only person of color in the entire restaurant… just an observation with lots of thought to ponder on!***

In a great location, staff was friendly, tap list was extensive, sampler flights available. Pretty good in my book. Lots of tap only offerings. Didn’t try the food as we were in a rush. But you can put your name in at the sushi place across the street, grab a beer here while you wait for a table. Best of both worlds. Peek in here for some beer then maybe stop by Burgundian.

3 stars because I like their beer otherwise it’d be less. Whether bought out or not. It’s true. Worst service ever unless you are one of the older man regulars. Nice servers but useless. I came here Sunday pre work and the guy with the tattoos was awesome. Super friendly and talkative. Came here Monday afternoon and the one girl on was just ungodly slow and not paying attention. We sat down at the bar. It’s dead. She was chatting with people at the other end of the bar and kept looking over at us but not coming over. Finally after 5 or so minutes she pours us waters. Then goes away. After another 5 she was like did you want something to drink. Well yeah this is a brewery. I ordered and asked for a menu. Menu didn’t come. Had to ask again. Then had to ask to order. We ate. That is all. Check to close took forever. All we had were chips and dip. New server came on and is a bit faster and more alert. Thank goodness. You work in a brewery. Be happy or get a Damn desk job. I work in a brewery myself and this is just disappointing.

Walked by this little gem on the way back from Green Lake. I seen Elysian and thats all i needed to see. It was happy hour so how could one not stop in? They have outdoor seating as well but it goes quickly. Pints are a Dollar off and they have a Great Happy hour Bites menu. And if you dont like Beer they have a nice cocktail list. I ordered a stout and followed that up with the mens room red. Both Beers sit at the top of my list. And you must order the Fish Cakes. I could Overdose on those. They have TV’s showing sports and it is kid friendly. That is all for now. Stay Super Seattle.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but they have $ 10 Penn Cove mussels. They’re delicious, buttery and fresh. I want to give this place 4 – 5 stars, I really do. But the service has always been so-so… I’ve been sitting waiting for someone to take my order for 10 minutes and counting. Judging by previous reviews, it’s no secret by now there’s some sort of issue with management and/or understaffing. Update: I’ll say one nice thing: my server just bought my beer due to the wait :) very nice of her Note to self: don’t come hungry. But don’t leave without mussels.

I’ve been here twice for beer before a weekly guitar lesson. The first time I sat at the bar for 10 minutes before the bartender asked what I’d have. The second time the bar was full and I sat a booth, as the sign reads Please Seat Yourself. It took 15 minutes of waiters, bussers and bartenders jostling by my booth before the bartender came over and asked what I’d like. This place brews good beer, not customer service.

I came here one evening with a large group of friends! I was excited because I love Elysian beer, but heard about the horrible service, and I would have to concur! I came a bit earlier to grab happy hour with my friend — I got the Elysian Mens Room and Truffle Fries. Mens Room was delicious as usual! The truffle fries were perfect, but a little weird on the presentation(it was served in a pint glass), they were crispy and perfectly salty! When our larger group arrived, we were seated promptly, but a server did not come to take our order for a good 15 – 20 mins! I also tried the Elysian Jasmine IPA for the first time, and really enjoyed it! Not too hoppy and not too flat. I ended up sharing a large mac&cheese with my friend, which was so cheesy & delicious! I loved it! It also should be noted that happy hour is only on the«upper level» and bar area, when the«upper level» is an arms length away. kind of ridiculous! Obviously the service could stand to be more improved. I don’t know if it’s because it is understaffed or if the staff just doesn’t care about their customers! Overall, go for the beer & food on happy hour, but don’t waste your dime on a full blown meal here!

Whenever a friend comes to Seattle, I take them to the Elysian to have a pint from one of the best breweries in town. I find the vast majority of their beer is either a classic done well, or a true experiment in flavor for both the brewer and the imbiber. I am always looking forward to try whatever concoction they come up with next. If this were only about the beer, I would easily give the Elysian five stars. Unfortunately, the other parts of the restaurant are less deserving of praise. The service is spotty at best(it is better on off nights), and the food leaves much to be desired. I know I am going to be left looking for a server to fill up a pint, place an order, or fetch the check at least once over the course of a meal. They have a few gems on the menu(such as the beet & apple salad), but the normal bar fare ranges from subpar to mediocre. Why are the burgers so disappointing? If you are a beer snob, you need to come here. If you could care less about what’s on tap, you should skip it.

Food and Beer was great! We went on a Tuesday so it wasn’t very crowed and got seated quickly. I have been there on a busy night and it gets packed and it seemed understaffed, but being Tuesday everything went fine. We got the barrel aged split shot which was amazing. Decent price, decent food, will be back.

I like all of the Elysian beers, and especially love their variety of seasonal, well-balanced pumpkin brews, but the food menu is a little hit or miss. The happy hour truffle fries and pork sliders are decently priced, and the pulled pork has the right texture and flavor but isn’t necessarily the best ever. I think I had the ham sandwich(?) and the only thing I can remember was that it was not very memorable for the price. Overall, though, it’s probably a good, casual place to have a beer and a meal if you have kids, since minors are allowed until the kitchen closes. I hope to see the menu changed up a little in the future.

It pains me to give this spot 2 stars because I am a loyal worshipper of their beer. Thing is, the service at this location is consistently bad. Everyone is nice and friendly, but they either don’t have enough people working or the people on staff just aren’t hustling enough. Last time I came in for dinner and drinks, we were there for almost 90 minutes and waited over 40 minutes for our food to come out. During that time all of the staff members were either MIA or too distracted to pay attention as we tried to flag them down. Every time I have ever been here we have had a ridiculous wait for ordering, receiving our drinks, receiving our food, receiving our check, AND getting our check cashed out. For the record I have been here at least a dozen times in the past 2 years(sometimes you just need a pint of Hombre). Elysian, I love your beer, I love your fries, I love you. Please fix whatever staffing issues plague this location.

Drinks were good, despite the hipster, disengaged bartender not being able to recommend anything. My fella had the fish and chips. I had the ham and gruyère sandwich. Both were great. Service is just really lacking. To be specific the thin dude behind the bar is not interested in customers.

The Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale from Elysian Brewing Company is delightful, bright and easy drink for spring or summer. This place is well worth the visit for the beer alone. Staff was helpful and the crowd mellow. Enjoyed visiting and will back again.

We came here to have some drinks while waiting for our table next door. We went in around 8pm on a Thursday, but there was a good crowd in the bar. We were greeted immediately with menus and our server gave us some time to make decisions. I was a little thrown off by the fact that none of the cocktails had any prices listed, but we figured we’d order anyway. I had the 35 Maple Street while my boyfriend ordered the Brooklyn Baron. Both were good, strong, and satisfying. I’d probably order my cocktail again. We didn’t order any food, but the tables around us did, and the selection looked decent. By the time we left, the bar was full and customers were starting to fill up the dining area. This seems like a cool place to hang out if you want something laid back and without too much fuss. I want to come back with some friends.
