Really nice selection of beers and a decent pub menu too. This place has a more sophisticated feel free to it than the typical campus hangouts.

Good drink selection with some really good PNW ciders. Reuben sandwich is really good and the service is quick. Plus several big TVs to watch games! Solid spot.

What happened to Big Time? The fries have seriously gone down hill… I was served a greasy mess of those reconstituted potato stick like things…

Beer and WiFi are a crucial combination for anyone looking to find the inner Hemingway or for those who work best around the Balmer peak. Big Time is probably my most frequented bar in the city because I like craft beer on tap when I study instead of coffee. Go and get a flight of beer, decide which one is your favorite and then enjoy your new addiction. Breakfast Cerial Killer is a 10⁄10 beer.

I started going to Big Time before brewerys were cool. Its been great seeing all of the changes and watching their beers gain the critical acclaim they deserve. The beers don’t dissapoint and with at least a dozen on tap, there is something for everyone. They even have ciders and wine if beer isn’t your thing. The food is great, the beer is great, the bartenders are fast and friendly, and the food is very reasonably priced. Whats not to love?

I was meeting a friend here. I was told to order at the bar. Got a beer and the mac and cheese. The beer was good and the mac and cheese was amazing. So why the one star? I ordered at 6:45pm and went back up 45 minutes later to check on the mac and cheese. I was told they forgot about me. I finally got it at 8:15pm. The service is an epic fail. When I ordered I paid and left a nice tip for one of the worst service I had in history. No comps or apology.

I barely got here in time to get some food because of a delayed Southwest flight and Payless Rental Car giving away my car. I ordered a pizza which was delicious and made my way to the bar. The only aspect of this brewery that is a little abnormal, is that you order and pay for your food separately and there is no table service. They did deliver the pizza to me at the bar. At the bar, I tasted Fat Katt Kolsch, Atlas Amber, Naked Time Saison, Coal Creek Porter, Prime Time Pale, Azacca ISA, Citra Dryhopped Pale(cask). Of those, my favorites were the Atlas Amber, Coal Creek Porter, Azacca ISA(India Session Ale), and Citra Dryhopped Pale(cask). I drank a pint of the Coal Creek Porter and it was great. They have about 20GABF awards from a variety of beers, so they have some serious credibility. The bartender, Katherine, was awesome and answered all of my beer questions and she and Rick were kind enough to recommend some other local breweries for me to try on my drinkend. Did I just make up a word? It was a great place to hang out on a late Friday night.

Come for the beer and stay for the nachos! I’ve only come in the summer when there less students but the brews are always good!

I’ve been here a few times, usually as part of a group. I’m always torn between giving Big Time 3 – 4 stars, but I think it’s a little bit closer to 3 than to 4. The food and drinks are ordered separately(at the bar vs. food counter), which is a little awkward. I haven’t tried their pizzas, but I’ve had the nachos and one of the sandwiches. The nachos use real shredded cheese, and are pretty okay. The space is kind of cavernous inside, and can get loud. I like that you can see the brewery part of the building to the left of the pub area, so you can actually see the tanks, unlike at places like the Ram where it’s in the very back. Their beers are pretty good, but I wasn’t blown away by the awesomeness of any of them. While it’s perfectly adequate for what it is, there’s nothing about the Big Time that’s particularly standout to me.

Meh. I didn’t eat here and after reading the reviews, maybe that’s for the best. The building itself is OK. It’s bigger than I thought it would be. The bartender was very nice and efficient. I tried the old sol and the sun break blonde. The old sol was good but they wanted $ 5.25 for a sifter and I didn’t think it would be worth that much. So I opted to get a pint of sun break and it was just OK. I don’t think I would come back if I were in Seattle again.

I blame myself for this. Showed up after work on a Thursday night in the U district. Oops. Was hungry… Wanted to try some new beers. Sat down at the bar… Fairly calm. Bartenders were super friendly. Went to order food and guy was cool. Got a sandwich(nudnik) and a pizza for my mate. All is well. About 15 minutes pizza came out… Not too badly done! Sandwich finally made its way after 15 more minutes anf myself asking since the gentleman took the number away after the first delivered meal.. Not sure why toasting bread took longer then oven cooked pizza… i blame the frat party atmosphere that happened after. Decent beers. Nice Bartenders but Def not for me unless I was just getting tanked after winning 18 round of beer pong.

Really good beer, this is a regular stop after a long day of class. Food is good but nothing special. Calzone specials can be really good, or the grinder sandwich are my normal go to’s. Lots of fun events in the back portion(trivia etc).

This is my favorite place to get happy hour drinks with my colleagues. Its right next to UW, meaning that a good 75% of the folks in the bar are graduate students or instructors. The weekday afternoon bartenders are the BEST– incredibly friendly and they always remember the regulars. They have plenty of big tables for larger groups. With regards to food, they have a pretty decent sandwich and pizza menu, though I’ve never tried any of their entrees. The happy hour snacks are well-priced and great for sharing. They’re not fancy, but tasty and cheap. The beer is great in my opinion, though I must admit I am no connoisseur. They don’t make their own cider, but recently changed their provider and its absolutely awesome now. Crisp and refreshing and right in time for summer! As far as I know they do not serve liquor. If you’re hardcore into beer, this might not be your top pick of breweries but this is definitely the best place to get a few drinks with people around UW.

I had the breakfast burrito and the salsa had an odd taste. Unfortunately I was so hungry. I know have a stomach ache and diarrhea. Slow service, the cook had a bad attitude kept coming out and glaring and shaking his head. Never go here again.

Great brews and excellent pizza! They have a wide range of their types of brews which is great for a non-IPA loving gal as myself. While I know IPA’s are super popular everywhere, it’s nice to have a choice of beer outside that box. If you see yourself coming more than a couple of times be sure to get a punch card — your 11th pint will be 50 cents! What’s interesting about this place is that there are some beers you can only drink in the bar because the alcohol percentage is too high in a couple to walk out with a growler. They also can do take out with their food so if you want to just stop in and take your beer and grub home, that’s totally doable here. They place is a bit dingy(as are most spots within the u-district). If the place is outright packed you probably wouldn’t notice, but its never been when I’ve gone by.

If you’re looking for a top-notch micro brew on tap, check out Big Time Brewery. Their IPA’s are crazy good, especially Scarlet Fire IPA. It’s also the only place around the U-District that offers cask-conditioned beers. The food here is quite unremarkable though, which is why Big Time isn’t getting a 5-star rating.

The Big Time is a nice local spot to chill and have a drink or two. We have been there multiple times but I’m finally starting to catch up on some reviewing. WEWILLABSOLUTELY continue to «hit the Big Time». We have a stupid little song we sing on the way there.(walking distance for us) But, I wont bore you with that. The size of the place works great. We have fit just us or larger groups of friends and family. The beer is good. I had some pumpkin beer there recently. YUM. The pizza is good and is normally what we order. We’ve tried the French dip, chili cheese fries, some kind of veggie sandwich and something else but I cant remember. All of which we would order again. If you are in the area… GO. Nice staff. Bartenders are attentive and friendly. Cute place.

When Steve and I were a part for about eight months and in the process of prepping my Colorado house to rent and Steve being stuck with a hellish landlord he naturally had to escape frequently so he would not succumb to the brimstone odor of that house he lived in for six months. Escaping to breweries was one of these activities and he went here during such a time. Since I have moved up here sometimes I drag him back to places he has already been and does not really want to go back to and sometimes he enjoys revisiting places. On this occasion he did not want to go back to Big Time because he felt like it was just average. I have heard this before and went to try for myself and have found sometimes improvements have been made since he was there. But in this case we are on the same page. I went in here the other day and got their Hopgoblin beer which was a kind of pumpkin ale. The beer was indeed pumpkiny and had a decent taste to it but not as well crafted as other pumpkin beers I have had this year. The beer was not a cask beer that I ordered yet somehow it did not seem to have much for carbonation. So all in all the beer quality was so so but the bartender was nice and helpful!

I went here with some friends the other day for happy hour. It’s awesome that this place is so close to the UW campus and also the 44 bus route. It’s incredibly convenient and a good place to hang out at the end of the day. For food and drinks, we had an assortment of pizza, nachos, fries, and different beers that were on tap. Here’s the breakdown: With regards to the food, it was good overall and I have no complaints. The BBQ chicken pizza was actually my favorite; it had a nice blend of chicken, cheese, BBQ flavor, and crust. We also ordered a ham and pineapple pizza; in my opinion, it was just okay in comparison to the BBQ chicken one, so if you have a choice I’d go with the latter. The Smash beer was actually pretty good and we ordered several pitchers of it. It was light, flavorful, and refreshing — all around good. The amber ale was also good as well. In comparison to a few other amber ale’s that I had recently, this was my favorite one so far.
