Chain Entertainment store looking to take over the music shop market (I’m a little bitter over them killing off Sam Goody). Selection is alright, they tend to get most of the new releases in, and try to be competitive on the first week with CDs. Blu-​Rays and DVDs are usually higher, but after a while you can get them on a good sale, or used. Recently they changed their CD and DVD browsers and I am not a fan. They are not really «shopable» and makes it feel more cluttered. For example the rows reach the floor, and shopping near the floor isn’t fun. The old browsers were much easier to flip thru. They did it to save space and add more «trend» items, if they are not careful they will be cluttered like Hot Topic. Also the mall locations tend to not have a focus on Used items, and don’t really have the selection, I wish FYE had a street store closer (or easier) than Silverdale. The staff is friendly and while they have to offer you things at the register, i never find them pushy. Also there is a yearly discount program for Backstage pass thats only $ 25 year and only offers you the discount both in store and online, and a good value over the monthly option if you after the discount.

My friend and I were killing time before our movie started, and we wandered in here. Neither of us knew FYE was still in business.
We were surprised to see a bunch of Star Wars stuff at the entrance. Didn’t this place sell CD’S and movies? There were some odd bits like a Yoda Halloween bowl and a Han frozen door piggy bank.
The left side of the store was all movie memorabilia — tees, mugs, posters, etc. The back of the store was more tees, and the right hand side some headphones and small electronics. In the middle were some really small selections of CD’S with a tiny vinyl area along with a few racks of DVD’s.
I was asked by the cashier how we were doing. I think she was the only one working.
Prices were all over the place. One of the records was being sold for $ 60. They had a couple racks of 50% off DVD’S with a note of buy 2, get the 3^rd for $ 1. A new pop CD was priced at $ 16, which goes for $ 10 on amazon. Some tees were on sale for cheap while others were marked up.
I don’t know how much longer they will stay in business but thanks for seeing a Dark Vader toaster.

Not a place that I usually shop at — tend to buy all my CD’s online. Store is very cluttered. Came here to pick up Cody Simpson signing wristbands — lucked out, line wasn’t horrible and it moved fast. My girls had a great time at the signing. So why do they get 2 stars. Hubby decided to buy 2 shirts and a used CD — it was almost $ 50! He read the signage wrong on the shirt prices and didn’t realize how much he was paying. So he decided he wanted me to return them — I asked him if he still wanted the CD, he said Yes and then when he opened it, it was an unknown CD (and definitely not the Van Halen one he wanted).
So I drug my sorry self to the mall, parked a mile away and drug my rugrats thru the mall to do the return. When my turn comes, I hand the cashier the items and the receipt — «Sorry, I can’t return it without the original credit card» REALLY, are you kidding me — it’s the same account (but our bank no longer allows both card holders to have the same card number…). She was the ultimate B****, rude, nasty– could care less. The manager came over (I’d dealt with her before) and I knew she felt bad but had to stand behind her employee because it was «company policy that we can only return to the credit card used to purchase». She couldn’t show me where this was written — what if the card had been lost or stolen — tough luck on returning anything.
So 3 days later I drug myself back again with hubby’s debit card in hand and did the return and the exchange (they had another copy of the CD hubby wanted). What a waste of 5 hours…
Will never go out of my way to shop here.

The people working there have gotten a lot friendlier, but their music selection is kind of suffering, but i can’t blame them, independant stuff doesn’t sell well enough to justify selling it, but they could at least restock it once in awhile. Good place if you’re looking for movies or pop music, bad place for anything local or non mainstream

This place is okay, it is overpriced, but every now and then you can find some great used CDs and when they have the buy 1 get 1 half off with used CD’s its even better!
I have bought used CDs in the past and they are working fine to this day, and that was 3 years ago! Just like new.
They have a good selection of movies, but still its pricey. I did find my son a Bubble Guppies dvd for $ 7.99 it was on sale. So I think its a pretty good price!
Other than that, the employees are pretty helpful in finding if something is in stock. Their computer keeps all of that in their system, so if there is something you’re looking for in particular, they can check in their computer for you!

Same old, same old. Basically what you can expect from a CD store at the mall — overpriced CDs and DVDs.
If there’s a CD or DVD that you really want then the extra money you’re paying for the music or movies might be worth saving your sanity over — if you’re already at the mall and you don’t want to get into your car to look for parking at a Best Buy or Target.
But otherwise, don’t bother.
