This place is perfect. Take a little walk through the park and right on the water sits this gem. Fish and chips are done exactly right. The view while you eat is almost impossible to beat. Finally the service is awesome. The hook it up. Best 6.95 you will spend on lunch.

This is one of those spots that make a new city feel like home! I have walked past this shop for about a year, but have never stopped at it since we live close by and don’t often need washrooms or snacks. On our weekly walk down Centennial trail on a chilly afternoon, kids asked if we could get a warm drink. The shop has a lot of food and drink choices, especially considering the size. In addition to the child and candy, they have hot options. We just had apple ciders, but they were served with so much care that I felt like a friend was serving me at their house. He even made each of my kids their own drink and only charged me for one(I was going to make my toddlers share). He didn’t have a tip jar, and took our money a bit sheepishly. What a guy! I am going to make a point of stopping here more often and try the wings, burgers and tacos on the menu.

What a pleasant surprise! Stopped by for a drink and a break during a run today and decided we needed a little snack. We ordered the 12th man burger(Go Hawks!) and we were blown away by the delicious burger we received. Fresh lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers and delicious melted cheese over spiced beef patties really brought this burger to a whole new level. The prices here are better than anything nearby and the quality was very high. We will definitely be eating here again and look forward to fishing at the pier. Ronn, the owner, is a warm welcoming generous person and knows his fishing(and cooking)!

I am not a meatloaf person – at all – but I LOVE the meatloaf here(ordered it for my husband, and have been back for my own). The food always tastes fresh and yummy, and the owner couldn’t be a nicer guy. He acts like it’s an honor(or an embarrassment) to receive a tip – he just seems to want to make people happy. The flags and music outside the shop are a nice addition to the fishing pier. I like to walk from the sculpture park(~1 mile), grab a drink to refresh when it’s hot, or a meatloaf sand when it’s cold, eat by the water, and then walk back. It’s less hectic and crowded at this end of the park. Drink selection is great – from water and other healthy beverages, to a wide array of pops and warm selections(cocoa, etc.). Everything is a good value – and not just for Seattle! Thanks, Fish On!

Good to see an old Vietnam Vet buddy. Sitting in his café I recall when we first met about 30 years ago, marching in our jungle cammies for Vietnam Veterans rights in a Memorial Day parade down Elliot Way just a block away. Things have changed a lot since then… in 1984 there were cat calls from anti-military protesters, blank stares from people who had never seen a camo uniform except on TV and disapproval from traditional veterans organizations(we crashed the parade and were definitely not invited)! Ronn is a wonderful guy and this is the perfect business for him, he has the«gift of gab» and his friendliness and care are engaging. As it turns out, our activist work paid off with improved health benefits not only for Vietnam vets but also returning Iraq and Afghanistan combat vets who really need all our help and support now. Come support this excellent business and thank Ronn for his service both as a «grunt» medic in Vietnam and a veterans rights activist.

Fish On, formerly known as Happy Hooker. It is an absolute gem of a venue. So I woke up one morning and thought to myself, I’ve been living near Elliott Trail for nearly 3 years, why am I not doing anything involving the water? I thought, maybe I should learn to scuba dive, or waterboard but in the end, I decided I want to learn how to fish. So on my day off, I decided to head to the bait, tackle, café, «Fish On», formerly known as «The Happy Hooker». I asked the owner, Ron, if he could teach me how to get started with fishing. He gave me a fishing booklet and told me to get a fishing license then he’ll get me started. I ran over to Big 5 Sporting Goods on Leary, got my license and headed back to the pier. Ron is probably the most generous, down to earth guy you could talk to — an absolute Gem to the city. He sold me quality gear for a great price(rod and reel 34 bucks, tackle box, sinkers, hooks etc) After he sold me everything I needed, he even stepped out of his store, and we went to the pier and he spent a generous amount of time teaching me how to set up my rod, how to cast, the whole nine yards. I’ve never felt uncomfortable asking him all kinds of newbie fishing questions, which is probably why I don’t ever feel like I want to fish anywhere else. He is very knowledgeable of the local fish, the reef, and the local area in general. He’s an old war vet and fought in Vietnam and has all kinds of amazing stories. I also find him to be the people’s champ so I like to call him. He will not tolerate any misbehavior on Elliott Trail and is not shy to confront hooligans. Numerous times, he has returned belongings to victims that he has gotten back from muggers. I have always felt safe on Elliott Trail but Ron’s presence certainly is a true upgrade. Bottom line, if you want to fish, eat delicious food, all in a safe environment, I would suggest Fish On. He rents out fishing rods too in case you have family coming in from out of town.
