I am gluten and dairy free so this bakery is perfect! Also like sweets so it was a good choice. Tried 4 or 5 things including a cinnamon roll and scone and muffin. It has been a couple years since I ate normal versions of those things so maybe they aren’t the same. But I enjoyed it and will definitely go back the next time I am in Seattle.

Stopped in when I was in the neighborhood since my hubby had recently got me their Elvis cake for my birthday(it was so good!). I got a slice of lemon vanilla cake and OMG it was some of the best cake I’ve ever had! it was moist and had the perfect amount of lemon. It was hard to believe it was gluten free and vegan! I keep looking for an excuse to order a whole lemon vanilla cake because I can’t stop thinking about it. LOL! My hubby got a slice of chocolate chai cake and his was really good but not as amazing as the lemon vanilla. We tried a donut and it was too sweet for my taste, but it was nice and soft and fresh. I’m so glad my hubby found a place for me that makes amazing gluten free vegan baked goods!

Lately Flying Apron is using almond milk in their baked goods. That has not been the case until recently. We have asked why almond milk is being used and have not been able to get an answer. I called to order a gf birthday cake and requested that it be made without almond milk. A $ 10.00 charge would be added to a $ 35.00 cake. I cancelled the order. Nuts and nut milk are problematic for many. This new addition to Flying Apron recipes has lowered a 5 star review to a 1.

Thank you Flying Apron for bringing delicious cookies to hungry GFDF Seattleites. You are the best! The quality of the food here is awesome! Savory or sweet, if you’re looking for GF baked goods or yummy salads, you’ve found your café. The coffee is delicious — coconut milk lattes complete me. I’ve even brought Flying Apron cookies to my GF gramma in Portland — it made her day! She did that eyes closed moment of silence thing that means she totally loved it. :) Sure, maybe it’s not for gluten and dairy eaters… there are plenty of awesome cafes in Seattle if you can have it all — but for me, this place is tops! Keep doing what you’re doing Flying Apron — you’re much appreciated!

I love love love this place! The fact that I can enjoy gluten free, dairy free and coconut free pastries and desserts is a dream come true! I visited this location a few years ago and loved it! A cute sit down area where you can enjoy a magazine, cup of coffee and pastry. A true treat for vegans and celiacs! :) You can also find their pastries I’m Lynwood’s whole foods in the bakery section. AWESOME for late night cravings for the suburbanites. I like the apricot thumbprint and Cinnabon!!! Can’t wait to try them all!

The sweet foodie freedom I experience when I walk in here can’t be beat. I can eat ANYTHING here. I schedule early Friday appointments with my chiropractor whenever I can so I can get some of those French Toast donuts. I always have a great chat with whoever’s working the front. They’ve got me hooked!

Such a wonderful space with a large selection. We both ordered pie & tea & were very happy with our selections. I would love to go back sometime for a breakfast pastry or a slice of cake or pizza. Bathroom was very clean.

Back in 2012 I stumbled in here and thought it was the absolute cutest! I remember them not having any cow products for my friend to pour in her coffee(«we are Moo free» they said), so thought I would return with my lactose free hubby… unfortunately he is also curry-free and the smell of curry hit us HARD when we entered. I love all spices, but when expecting a sweet bakery smell, this kind of threw off the whole experience. We got a soy macchiato and a drip coffee and both were quite bitter, not my favorite coffee. A big let down compared to what I remembered.

A great matcha latte but the baked goods are the real stand out! I took a bunch home and some of the drier gluten free items really were better after sitting in the fridge and being microwaved(definitely added moisture!)! I specifically thought the bars and muffins were great while the cookies and scones were way too dry. The chocolate and ginger spice flavors were worth the trip!!!

This is a cute little gluten free and vegan café with a small amount of employees and a steady stream of customers. They have all their ingredients labeled and written out which is fantastic but I found the taste of their pastries to be a little bland and a little heavy on the taste of sugar and not enough chocolate chips(I got a vanilla maple cupcake and cardamom chocolate chip muffin). Their Chai is not really Chai tasting so when I ordered a dirty Chai(hot water, chai, two shots espresso) it tasted like watered down espresso :(but aside from those three things, I found their sesame ginger kale salad and tofu scramble delicious — I could easily go bankrupt from eating here often

I never understood why people who are not allergic to gluten would want to eat anything that is gluten free. Sometimes I wonder if it’s a fad. I’m sure those who are actually allergic to gluten are probably cursing at those who do it because it’s a trend. Anyways, back to the bakery. As you can see it’s an all Vegan and Gluten Free café. I usually avoid GF but I figured I would give it a try. Kind of went crazy and ordered the Strawberry Cake, Blueberry Scone and Peanut Butter cookie. On our way out they had samples of their cinnamon roll. After one bite, I would say it was the ! I highly recommend it. Being hopeful(since the roll was excellent) I tried the cake and it was not that great. The cake itself tasted like cornbread, dense and icing was gritty. Not a fan! Peanut butter cookie was moist and flavorful, even after the next day. That’s 2 thumbs up. Scone…lets just say. You need some milk or coffee to wash these bad boys down. Holy heck! If you have nothing to drink, then eat at your own risk. Overall it was an ok experience. Great for gluten free peeps but as for vegans and non vegans, I recommend you hit up a different location.

Gotta chime in with the 4-star folk. Love the ethos of this place and what they do, particularly the GF. The food is delicious and fresh. Staff is mildly friendly but certainly not into relationship building(like Chaco Canyon folks do). Service is fine, though forgetful(didn’t get my 75-cent piece of bread last time in). Ambiance fine. Ultimately, I love the food, like the business and eat there on occasion. What keeps it from going more often or giving it 5 stars is value. For $ 35 for a simple lunch for two I want a bit more value: more engaging staff, bigger portions, a little more life in the shop. I like Flying Apron a lot, but it’s not perfect.

I became a big fan of this place quickly. Love the cozy interior, very relaxed and comfortable. Loved the art on the walls, so different and unique. They sell a fair trade coffee here called«Se7en» took half a pound back with me as it’s pretty delicious tasting coffee. That’s one of the things that blows me away about this town, such a HUGE variety of delicious tasting coffee, previously I thought Montréal couldn’t be topped but. I think Seattle might actually win. Their organic oatmeal with coconut milk and toppings at the bar are great, I tried two of their pastries and those too were pretty dang delicious. The young woman working here was super friendly, I’d definitely be a regular if I lived in the area.

My husband bought several items from this store. For gluten-free and vegan, the sweets were really good. I am not always a big fan of gluten-free baked items. They often have a strange texture due to the alternative flours they use that is often off-putting(vegan items are another matter). These baked items do a good job considering the use of alternative flours. They are certainly much denser/grainier than wheat flour based, but the flavors were very good and the texture worked. Good quality items that I would certainly buy again. For those not used to gluten-free items, the names may throw you off. For instance, the cinnamon roll isn’t like a normal cinnamon roll, but it still tasted delicious!

We were walking around Fremont and wanted something sweet. We saw baked goods in the window and decided to stop. Upon entering, it smelled delicious! I went with the French toast doughnut and my husband went with a chocolate chip cookie. Both were gluten free and vegan, which neither of us are, but it was one of the best doughnuts I have ever had in my life. I would come back to this bakery everyday if I lived here! Delicious!

Flying Apron: It’s PCC without any of the good stuff! Flying Apron’s success hinges on the fact that there’s simply very few restaurants like it so they can get away with having their food fall just below mediocrity into the epicenter of crap and get away with it. I had modest expectations. I can say I’ve had good vegan shit over at Plum Bistro and Chaco Canyon. But let’s face it, these are vegan desserts. No one instinctively cares for vegan desserts at all. They are very low on the food chain of desserts. No one is ever like OHHELLYEAHVEGANSUBSTITUTES. Eggless tofu quiche? I’M WETTERTHAN A FIREHYDRANT. Dry as fuck slice of flax chocolate cake? LITERALLYONTHEBRINKOFORGASM. All of their pastries, while look deceptively appetizing, taste like they were baked with plastic while simultaneously being spongy and a touch too sweet. I know they’re not trying to punish anybody for having food intolerances or allergies or being a moron but it certainly tastes like it.

We went in for coffee and baked goods. The folks working were very nice and helpful. The pastry case was full and everything looked wonderful. It was tough deciding what to get. We settled on a dark chocolate muffin, blueberry scone and a salted chocolate chip cookie. Plus a cup of drip coffee. The coffee was really good until the last ¼ of a cup wherein I got a mouthful of coffee grounds… but that’s cool. It was a delicious cup of coffee anyway. The cookie was amazing. So amazing that I can’t even describe how great and I’m not even a big cookie eater. Days later, I’m still thinking about the two bites I was able to sneak off of my partner(since the cookie was technically hers). Here’s the bad news. The chocolate muffin and blueberry scone were absolutely, without a doubt, the WORST versions of those food items I’ve ever come into contact with. The muffin might as well have been a rubber baseball and the scone was like a wedge of Play-Doh without all the saltiness. The chocolate flavor of the muffin was good but the texture murdered any hope that thing had of ever being a viable treat option. Even after coming home drunk from a wedding I couldn’t swallow a bite of it. The scone was the same. In conclusion… cookies = YES! coffee = Yes. muffins = bad idea. scones = bad idea.

Ahh Flying Apron, how I love thee! Flying Apron may not look like much from the outside — It’s got many of the qualities that make me want to die… such as being in Redmond, being in a suburb of Redmond or being in a strip mall in a suburb of Redmond(ok, death may be a little extreme, but all of the traits I just described are harbingers of doom food or culture) — however, once inside, Flying Apron defies all expectations and delivers in both quality of food and service. An oasis of health and possibilities, alternative to the usual burger joint or chain, one of my vegan friends actually frequents this refreshing place. How he found it, is a mystery to all. He introduced me and a few friends and we absolutely loved/love it! The baked goods are divine(and mysterious… there is actually a pitch black muffin… one day I am gona get it), but mostly we come for the juices… The Green Kermit and variants of what I’ll refer to as the Purple Ones(they’re beet based, if that’s any help… and I love me some beets). You can customize the ingredients and add spice as you see fit. The juices are made to order right in front of your very eyes. And the people who work there are so sweet and helpful. The juices are never watery, artificial, or too sweet or tart.(Starbuck’s new juice joint comes to mind as a juice place gone tragically rogue… Oh Starbucks, how one effs up vegetables supposedly straight to/from a juicer, I’ll never understand! Just, wow.) In the end, I can admit when I was wrong… and I’m also happy to do it. It’s nice to be surprised! Especially, in Redmond!

This place is gonna turn me into a vegan. It is that amazing. I’ve tried a chocolate and coconut cupcake and OMG words can not describe how delicious and moist these are.(I’m sorry for the use of the word moist, but it it) Regular cupcakes no longer hold a place in my life. I also tried a pizza pocket. Never did I think veggies could have so much flavor and be THAT good. The cupcakes were $ 2.25 a piece The pizza pocket was $ 5.75 I highly recommend both.
