My child was at seattle childrens and I tried a lot od restaurants around the area while my stay at the hospital. The food is lousy, tasteless and not worth the price. the food did not seem fresh.

Stopped here for lunch on the way home from an appointment nearby. The service was super slow. It wasn’t very busy when we came in and when we ordered it took forever to get our sandwich. It shouldn’t take that long to make a sub. Plus we were charged more for adding more than 3 topping to the sub, which is ridiculous. Maybe it’s just the location, I remember getting this place catered from the issaquah location a while back and the subs were delicious and fresh. If I’m in the area again I won’t go here, I would much rather go to specialty café and bakery, their sandwiches are delicious and something to remember.

Knockoff subway but crappier. Staff was nice and kind, but took to long. Food was bland and of lesser quality than a subway.

Terrible! I should have realized it was a bad idea to go there when they had no customers in a busy location at lunch time… The food prep area looks like it is very rarely cleaned and the sandwich ingredients are sub-par. But the reason I’m taking time to write a review is because the owner is terrible! I ordered a veggie sub that had 4 ingredients besides bread. The price was $ 4.99 on the menus that were all over the store. So when she rang me up at almost $ 8, I asked politely if it was supposed to be $ 4.99. She said no so I pointed to the menu. She says, «That’s from 10 years ago and I don’t know how to make new ones.» What?! I was shocked. Both about her stupidity and terribleness as a business owner(who does that to customers?). I’m sure she’ll be out of business soon — low quality food and prices that are higher than every other sandwich place.

I went to Georgio’s Subs today to show support. They are the sponsors of my son’s baseball team. The sandwich was awful. I actually didn’t finish it. I am not sure what was wrong with it. It was a basic turkey sandwich. I think that first I was expecting it to be higher end. Instead, it looked exactly like subway. I very much appreciate their sponsorship of Northeast Seattle Little League. I am sorry that the food isn’t better.

Oh man… Gimme a second here to gather my thoughts. I hate to write bad reviews and I actually very rarely do. But I think one of the benefits of Unilocal is that people can surf to the site to find out about a business and whether it’s worth visiting before spending(or wasting) money like I did. This was actually my second trip to Georgio’s but apparently it’d been so long that I had forgotten how displeased I was last time. Here’s the scoop… I was out running a few errands this AM and was planning to get back home by around 12:30PM. Feeling hungry as I was driving past U Village I immediately thought, «Oooh Veggie Grill!» But as I found a second to text my boyfriend and offer to bring him lunch, I realized he’d be happier with non-vegan options. We’re both meat lovers so I could hit up VG another time. So I passed Georgio’s and thought to myself, «Ok — I’ll stop in there and get us some sandwiches instead.» Then on my way back I pull into their little lot and notice I’m the only car there. Which at 12:15PM was a little strange. Shouldn’t a sandwich shop be hoppin’ at lunchtime everyday of the week? Just as I walked into the shop I had a flash back of a pretty bland experience and just figured I might as well give em another shot. Heck, I already parked and came inside. Aside from an empty store, placing my order proved to be a disaster. Wanting to make things easier and wanting to ensure the tastiest sandwiches, I thought my best bet was to go with the«specialty» options listed on the board. I picked two of the five listed and when the gal started making the sandwiches she seemed flustered as all hell. She asked, «Ok, what type of cheese?» «Well… According to the menu that sandwich has Tillamook Cheddar» I responded. Realizing she hadn’t remembered my order at all, I watched as she kept eyeing the menu above(and behind her) to help figure out what to put on the sandwiches. This was fine with me but I found it a bit odd that someone wouldn’t know how to make items listed as specialty sandwiches. Suddenly this place just felt like an even crappier version of a Subway sandwich shop. Sigh… I hung out for about 15 minutes while my sandwiches were made. I spotted some signs on the walls, some cut-outs about the Huskies and lots of sports paraphernalia. Then I spied a whiny sign that read, «This is how much we spent in march 2011 because of credit card charges. Please pay cash if you can.» REALLY? Making customers feel bad for paying with a card? I thought businesses factored those prices into their offerings. Suddenly I was being made to feel guilty by using a debit card even though the total for 2 combo meals was $ 19 and the 6 inch subs not only looked like they were only about 4″, they also looked downright lousy. Thinking I’d rather cancel the order than even spend money here, it was too late. So I get my drinks, chips and sandwiches and leave. SIDENOTE: The lids to the cups don’t fit just right so be careful you don’t spill soda all over the car. I had to pop them back into place a half dozen times. Basically each time I picked up the cup, the lid flew off. Cool. As I pull out of the parking lot feeling like my poor hungry boyfriend is about to get the biggest disappointment of his life, I veer into U-Village and decide that I’m going to Veggie Grill after all. I order some awesome food and take everything home. Jim dove into the Georgio’s sub and put it down after just one bite. Again, this is a man that practically lives and breathes meat. He picked up the vegan sandwich and wolfed it down. Money well spent… I should have gone there in the first place. Sadly, I won’t be giving this spot a third chance.

I cant say that I didn’t give this place a chance. I tried it three times before writing this review. Each time was worse than the last. Plus, a sub, soda, and chips costs nearly a Hamilton. I have tried their«toasted» subs, which seem to be only slightly warmed, like they are in a hurry to get me my food and get me out of there. In fact, I always feel rushed when stepping inside… the sandwich makers have a way of staring at you until you bark your order that would make even the coolest cucumber feel a little uneasy. I mean, I get that they are just waiting to start my sub, but maybe just don’t stare at me so much when I am looking over the menu.(I feel like a little bit of a nit-picky biotch after re-reading this paragraph.) They use sub-par meat, and the bread has only once out of 3 times tasted/felt fresh. I will say that my wife, a vegetarian, didn’t have the qualms that I had with this sub shop. I think the bland/poor taste of subs I have gotten has a lot to do with the meat. You can usually snag one of the 2 or 3 spots right in front, because this place is never busy.

I wasn’t crazy about Georgio’s. The restaurant is very small and feels cramped. There’s UW sports paraphernalia around which is cute, I guess. There are tables outside when the weather is good, but for the other 70% of the year, there’s almost nowhere to sit and it’s not very conducive to enjoying a meal. Feels very rushed. My sandwich was not very impressive. There was way too much dressing and it was soggy. I would honestly recommend any of the chains(Subway, Jimmy John’s or Quiznos) over this place, and it’s sad to me that that’s the case.

Georgio’s is a good alternative to Subway, but is in no way an equal. With a more creative menu, Georgio’s is exciting at first, but as you see them create the sandwich in front of you, you realize it is nothing more than a Subway knockoff. I had the Downtown Dip on Focaccia. The sandwich was great, in that it included everything that I asked for, but it was nothing incredible. The au jus sauce was blatantly made from some sort of pre-mix added to hot water and then nuked for half a minute. It concerned me, but I tried it. It tasted like hot salt water, which was good because my sandwich needed some more salt, but still, it worried me. Dip aside, the ingredients all seemed to be as fresh as those of Subway, so the sandwich, in the end, tasted good and was plenty filling. The best part about this place, though, was the Focaccia bread. It’s pretty basic, but Georgio’s does it surprisingly well. Next time, I’ll probably go for a less adventurous sub(or at least one without a disturbing gimmick like dipping sauce) and keep it simple on a loaf of their Focaccia. GET: Focaccia Bread

Looks like a Subway clone at first glance, but the menu is slightly more interesting. Here’s a component-by-component breakdown of their fare, as compared to Subway(seems reasonable, given their similarity): Bread: the loaves in the basket on the counter looked a bit sorry for themselves, like Subway bread that’s seen better days. Looked more appetizing once sandwichified and toasted, though. Tasted reasonably good; somewhat chewy, though not necessarily in a bad way. Meat: my sandwich had turkey and bacon. Standard stuff. Vegetables: slightly smaller selection than Subway. Seemed reasonably fresh. Sauce/dressing: I had the pesto mayo. Interesting for a while; outlasted its welcome by the time I finished my foot-long sub. Assembly: the sandwich held together well enough that I could pick it up and eat it without having to wrap it in a napkin. Not always possible at Subway. Value: a little pricier than Subway, but it seemed more filling as well. The shop itself has a pretty different feel from Subway. Feels less like a chain; less sterile and fluorescent-lit. TV inside; a few tables outside.

So I’ve been here a couple times and all I have to say is this place is the worst! I thought it was impossible for me to hate any place that makes sandwiches but I found one. They have horrible costumer service, they blatantly stare at my girlfriends chest, and they only let you pick three vegetables for your sandwich. Theres a subway down the street if your looking for something better.

I’m not a huge sub person, I keep it simple; chicken, turkey, or ham with provolone, lettuce, and mayo, or the meatball sub. I like their white and wheat breads more than other sub places like Subway and Jimmy John’s, and the meatball sub has a nice hearty sauce. It’s the same or better than Subway, and it’s nice to support a local Puget Sound business. You cant walk 4 blocks in most cities without seeing a Subway, I like supporting variety and local shops. If you haven’t given Georgio’s a try definitely do. I’ve had the same people serve me each time I’ve been there and they’re always very polite and kind. It’s not something that makes or breaks a sub shop for me, but it’s certainly nice to feel like they care about your food instead of just trying to get you through the line like Subway.
