I have a really good friend who just moved back into the Lake City area. Funny when Her & I get together, some how food pops into our minds. Last night She was informing me of this really good, great priced gyro place that was NOT too far from her building. After collectively deciding that GYROS was on the menu, she advised me that we could pull up Unilocal,if I had the app on my phone & order straight from there. I was amazed & once again technology has proved to be awesome! Using the Eat 24 We ordered, patiently waited for about 15⁄20 mins, then off we were to WALK& go get our food. They Guy back there making our food was nice, friendly, & informative. While standing there I had seen several things on the menu I wasn’t aware of & he answered every question without seeming as if he was being bothered. Excellent food(We each ordered the Lamb Gyro & I had a side of fries), a lot of bang for your buck, VERY favorable, & overall just an excellent experience. … ooh goodie I actually have leftovers that I am going to wax on in a little bit. Also hands down. WEWILL be back soon!

Ooomph… my tummy is almost bursting from my attempt to devour my entire combo dish(but failed to do so). Located along the Lake City strip and relatively close to the Fred Meyer area, is another location of the Gyro Hut. For those who are familiar with the Gyro Hut near Northgate, this is another branch of the same place. Swung by here for a late lunch and it proved to be quite a delicious visit. Since I was curious about the quality of the meat here, ordered the combo plate that consist of: beef/lamb/chicken/falafel + salad + rice + pita. Overall, quantity = generous amounts of meat + the yummy taziki sauce. Quality of the various meats: Yummy. Perfectly seasoned and cooked with a slight crisp, this place is just as good as the Northgate location. If you like spicy food, make sure to tell it to the cook! As for the other side items, taziki sauce was on point. I do appreciate how the sauce was to the side and not drizzled over the meat, which allowed one to fully savor the tastes. As for the pita and rice, it was average and the salad was refreshing. In terms of wait time, did wait around 10−15min for my order. Interior of the place is clean and there is plenty of tables + seats to eat at. Yayy for a nearby gyro place within walking distance. :)

I tried the lamb shawarma plate. Most of the lamb was overlooked but had good flavor luckily. This was served Over rice that was pretty bland. Served with a tasty side salad Mediterranean style and tasteless stale pita bread. This place has great potential because the flavors are there. The environment is not very inviting, more of a to go place. I dined inside and was lucky enough to hear a lovely conversation of my cook/server/order taker/owner? He sounded like he was talking to a friend on the phone and I overheard him say ‚” do you want to see a picture of mine? Mine is WAY bigger than yours” let’s just say I hope he was talking about his refrigerator or something.

The food here is delicious and fresh. You might wait a few minutes for it, but it’s well worth the wait. Service is always friendly. Prices are good considering portion sizes.

I called in an order for a gyro and fries, I said I’d pick it up in half an hour. I arrive and I expected it all to be ready and I was standing around for about 5 minutes debating on weather I should leave or not, I waited and finally got their attention, they rang up my order and the staff member started making my food just then. I also noticed food being made without hands being washed or gloves being put on. Gyro was good, fries way too salty. Anyway, not going back.

The food is amazing and the people are so nice. I live walking distance and when I don’t feel like cooking they are my go to take out. Should definitely try them!

Went to grab some sandwiches for a boat trip. The one guy working was very busy hustling around the kitchen. Sadly waited for 5 min without help and decided to leave. Maybe will try again, but seems like staffing problems at a minimum.

One of the best Gyros I have ever had and I have had at least 15 to 23 Gyros in my life(give or take). I was surprised at how much meat was in that bad boy! It wasn’t the cleanest or well decorated or welcoming or air conditioned but my lord was that gyro good!

The gyros are tasty, fresh, and heaped with meat– I always seem to have some meat left over. Fries are always cooked fresh and service is friendly and efficient. I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than ten minutes for my food. A very solid option if you’re in Lake City.

So I tried this place today, I ordered chicken shawarma and it was nothing like shawarma ! I am not a picky person but I know when the food is bad, and you can add to it that it was very dirty ! Anyways I will give them another shot and will change my review if it get better

Pervez and the crew here at Gyro Hut make amazing food with an amazing attitude. I used to thrive in NYC on $ 3 falafel sandwiches and street halal. In Seattle I missed it big time. Until I found Gyro Hut. Their combo platters are delicious, sandwiches are perfect, the falafel well seasoned, and my only complaint is that their garlic fries are too good,

One of the better Gyro options in Lake City(and there are a lot of them), this location offers the same food as their other location. They have a nice variety of traditional options and more modern choices, gyro sub anyone? My personal fav is the jumbo gyro with Babba but there are lots of good choices. Btw while Gyro Hut doesn’t sell alcohol(I’d assume due to cultural reasons) the Beer Junction next door will happily let you bring their food in.

Very authenticate Mediterranean food and shwarma plates. Servings are also great for the price. Their chicken is(Halal) non-processed, organic. Just one bite and it shows. Very juicy and tender. This place is very underrated for the food quality. If you can overlook the plain décor and plastic utensils you will be rewarded with some great food.

If you live in the north end(Wedgwood, Lake City, Sand Point) and haven’t eaten here… go now! We have been going to the other location(at Northgate) for years and are thrilled to have them even closer! My husband loves the traditional gyro, while I go w/falafel or other veg/vegan options. Great people! Great food!

Food is surprisingly great! Lamb schawarma is perfect! And the owner/server’s a very gentle quiet guy. I was surprised there were no customers but us on a Friday night. Lake Citiers, we should all go support this new local business in town.

We had a lamb shawarma and a Dajaj Mishwi(chicken marinated in special spices). Both were awesome. I especially liked the huge portion of the Dajaj Mishwi — greek salad and tatziki filled to the top of the to-go box, and of course the generous amount of delicious chicken and rice enough to fill me for two meals. Did I mention there’s a pita bread too? The guy there was a bit slow considering we were the only customer at that time, but that doesn’t bother us at all. I’m sure this place will get more and more popular. Hoping the portion and quality will stay the same!

I phoned in a to-go order for a vegetarian gyro with feta. I was told ten minutes, but walked in five minutes later to pick up. Both employees were in the kitchen preparing an order ahead of mine, and my own, and when one looked up and acknowledged me I said I phoned in a vegetarian gyro with feta to-go. He smiled and said it would be right up. Great! Within two minutes my order was ready, but I should have asked again if it was the vegetarian gyro with feta because I thought it was strange that I was being charged $ 7.90, not $ 4.90. Not to mention he had to process my card twice since he only charged it for $ 0.79 the first time. No big deal. I collected my gyro and walked home. My disappointment finally settled in when I unwrapped my vegetarian gyro with feta to find a lamb gyro with feta instead. I did not walk back and have the order fixed and get a credit for the difference because I stopped for dinner in-between jobs and didn’t have time. They have great, fast, and friendly service, but I would be cautious when placing a vegetarian order to-go. I would also recommend paying with cash instead of card.
