Not helpful at all. I have a tight schedule. I called to ask if they would be willing to stay open just a few more minutes. It was 12 minutes to close and I was not faraway I got there and it was two minutes till 8:00. I called again instead of barging in the door when I got there(just to be polite) and asked the customer service person if they’re willing to just stay open a few more minutes because I was already there and I already knew what I wanted and would only take maybe five more minutes if they had what I needed and I would’ve been out of there. I was told no again and they were actually opened. So if I would’ve walked in the door that means they would have to serve me right? being that they weren’t quite closed yet. Do you want to make any money or not? A customer centered business is going to do way better because they accommodate customers. This is when you end up getting a lot of referrals. It leaves a lasting memory in your mind and you don’t forget the business actually went out of their way for you. This does not describe this business. The two stars is because parking is really good.

This store is so unorganized! I couldn’t find anything on my own and when I was looking for help there was no one to be found. I was surprised because I had heard that they follow you around in here but I couldn’t find a single person to help me

Of course they follow you around like you’re going to steal something. Do you know what neighborhood this is in? Have you seen their display of «caught on camera» thieves in their front entry way? They people get stolen from a lot, so don’t be surprised when they watch you instead of asking you if you need help. Besides that, it’s a pretty good store. Whenever I need something hair related that Target or Walmart won’t have, I come here. As someone said previously; it’s your typical Asian-owned Black beauty store. One stop shop for most of your black hair needs!

You’re typical Asian owned Black beauty supply store. Wide assortment of braiding hair, weaving hair, wigs, and beauty products. They even have some cute earrings(sometimes) for like 3 bucks and some hard-to-find make up for us Cocoa beans. These past couple of months they had a «SUMMERBLOWOUTSALE» or some shit where a lot of stuff in store was supposedly up to 50% off. Unfortunately, the crap I usually go there to pick up wasn’t on sale(shea butter, wig caps, nail polish, random stuff) but there mediocre weaving hair was. So here’s why I give it 3 stars: GOOD: Always have something for me to buy there that is useful to me. Whether it’s weaving thread, cocoa butter, braiding hair or whatever, they always have something that I need. GOOD(ish): I go there a lot but only on a select few occasions have I gotten any assistance when asked. Homegirl looked dumbfounded when I asked for protein filler. But another time the guy was somewhat helpful(not really, but somewhat) when I was asking about restocking and all that. BAD: I don’t like to be followed in a store that is supposedly meant for«us» by racist ass Asian women thinking I’m stealing. Yes hunny, I had that old woman following me from corner to corner of that bitch and I made sure I took my sweet ass time. I went in there for literally 3 things and purposefully took 35 minutes just to piss her off. She later told me to put my bag behind the corner, which I then replied«IF I DOTHATWILLYOUSTOPFOLLOWINGMETHEN?» and she got rattled. Don’t play wit me hoe. THEUGLY(kinda): I’ve been a southend kid my whole life. MLK, Rainier Beach, Skyway all of those areas don’t bother me as it seems to for other people. I don’t feel scared or whatever about going to Rainier and Henderson but if you’re the scary type, maybe this area won’t be the best for you. So all in all you’ll probably catch me here within the next week or too. As long as that old woman isn’t trying me, everything will be A-OK ;)

After reading other reviews, I was expecting to be treated poorly, but my experience was the opposite. No one asked to help me while I looked around, and I did look around for about 45 minutes. Also, there was not a very good selection of red wigs. All the wigs I found that were red were not in stock. So that’s why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Christina was extremely patient & helpful. After I went to the counter to buy a cap & asked to try on some wigs, Christina very patiently worked with me in combing the wigs, helping me try them on, and checking the stock. She even explained the differences between the types of wigs as this was my first time buying. I ended up buying 2 off the mannequins because there weren’t any new ones in stock. I was disappointed with that, but they weren’t in bad shape & they gave me 10% off. Unfortunately once I got the wigs home, in other lighting they weren’t nearly as reddish as in the store. They’re more of a brown, sort-of auburn. $ 75 for something I’m not happy with, but that wasn’t their fault. Just keep it in mind while shopping in florescent lights.

This place is AWESOME. As soon as I went to the front counter, the ladies were very friendly and willing to help me. I was shown a couple options and they were both on sale. My wig received several compliments over the course of the night. They are not a 2-star business and that almost kept me from coming in. Don’t let it stop you.

I love this hair shop. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 though because yes they do follow you around. They really act like you are going to steal something. They must have had a huge problem with this before because at one point they had a security guard up front? and you had to check in your bag! But this is what I do when they follow me around in the store. This is a tip ladies. When they follow you? Make them work. Ask them for wigs in different colors for the one you like. Just keep wearing them out, making them go back and forth searching for things you want. Eventually they get tired and avoid you! lol. Skillz! Yes, I am a regular. :-D

I love customer service and Reba did an absolutely wonderful job with her customer service skills. She outdid herself! Everything I asked for she got promptly and not only her the workers there work hard. It is not one of those places that sits and waits for you to come. They are always looking busy and showing appreciation for their store. I don’t know who used to own the store that gave them bad reviews in the past. However I own a beauty salon I AM Natural Beauty around the corner and they are one of my local suppliers, thank God. They tell people about me and I always send my clients there as well. Thanks so much to the staff of Hair Art Beauty Supply.

I recently visited the Tacoma Location. The lady there was very helpful but the problem was there was not much stock of the wigs. The store was clean and well organized but I could not find what I was looking for on the higher end of things. It is a good store if you are looking for ‘good enough’ wigs. Their human hair wig selection is a bit limited but still awesome. I would go there for regular beauty supply shopping but to buy for a big production, not the place to go. WIll visit the Seattle Location tomorrow. The lady said they were not the same company. hmm…

Follow u around like u are a criminal, yet they cannot seem to stop the REAL theives because the have a collage of images of crooks on the walls all over the store, who have ACTUALLY stolen from them. So uncomfortable, because u just wanting to shop in peace. I feel I have to shop quickly in fear of being shot because of crime in the neighborhood, or accused of being Shaniqua on the wall who stole lashes. No bueno. One trip there, they did not give me all of my product, I didn’t realize it until I was home. I frantically returned with my receipt only for them to lie repeatedly and waste an half hour of my time showing me a grainy tape, only to realize that they indeed had my product. They returned it to me(was sitting behind the counter mind you, clearly had fallen out of my bag, the fools were too stupid to put the product back on the floor, thus making their argument more believable) AND without apology. Took me threatening to call the cops, but I got my crappy pack of weave that I paid for. Believe me Hair Art, if I were to steal, I would’ve grabbed some Premium Indian Remi Hair. Smh. Ghetto store. That is all.

Don’t ever give this place a single penny of your money, unless you like being followed around and treated like you’re going to steal something. Yes they have a massive selection of wigs and subpar hair, but is it really worth it? It shouldn’t be. Their«high end» hair room is full of hair weaves that are just laughable, there are better vendors on the internet you can purchase better quality hair from at the same price. The sales associates know nothing of ethnic hair care(which is a massive part of their customer base) and treat their patrons who can’t pass the paper bag test like they aren’t worth anything. I went in today for a few pairs of false eyelashes since that’s all use this place for, nothing in this store touches my hair. And as i left, this old man in a rent a cop uniform looked at me, and as i passed he rotated his body and continued to stare at me then started to follow me out. Sorry but that crossed the line, I don’t tolerate being blatantly disrespected in such a manner. The products will be returned tomorrow when I have a spare moment to give their manager a piece of my mind. You can continue to shop here if you’d like but just know who you’re giving your money too. My search of a beauty supply store owned by people who know and have my hair type and will treat me with respect continues.

This review is for the Tacoma location. The store lives up to its reputation as having almost everything you could possibly want in the world of hair and that is the only reason I’m giving it 2 stars. The store is also clean and well organized. The first thing I saw when I walked in were several pictures of Black shoplift suspects prominently displayed in the entry way. There were two employees working, one at the register and one stocking shelves. The Remy human hair is behind a counter that you need assistance with and I stood there looking around for about 5 minutes without anyone offering to help. I asked the woman at the cash register if they carried Outré and she pointed to an aisle where I was unable to locate the Outré Velvet Remy I was looking for. I went back to the Remy counter and waited for someone to help me to no avail. I then exited the store and wil not return due to the«can’t be bothered» attitude of the employees. I will continue to give my hard earned cash to the lovely ladies at Midway Beauty Supply on Bridgeport.

You can find almost anything here– from wigs, extensions, hair accessories, makeup, jewelry, leggings, hair wraps, shampoo/hair products and the list keeps going. This is usually my go-to for wig/accessory shopping. The prices are reasonable and the selection is pretty great. My tastes run a bit wild in the wig department so I often need to order mine online but this is the place for most folks, if you want something a bit more natural looking. Staff is helpful, prices are low for the most part and they offer a full range of services and hair, oh, the place is full of it!
