So much Aloha in one place! They have Hawaiian goodies! They have Leis! They have macadamia nut chocolates and ukuleles! The folks who work here are super helpful and nice. Stop by if you’re in Wallingford and need seem island style inspiration.

Love this place! I use to live in Seattle, but now I live in Guam. I was here in town for a friends graduation and was hoping I could find some fresh Leis. Truth be hold I found a store! The environment was super friendly and was greeted with a aloha once I walked in. Would definitely come back for some leis.

A cute little shop with all the Hawaii flavor! As a Hawaii girl, there are some traditions from Hawaii that I just can’t shake. I love giving leis for special occasions and I do miss the smell of plumerias. Hawaii General Store orders leis from Honolulu, so you know that these fresh flower leis are the real deal. The leis are a little pricy because of this, so prepare to spend nearly double the amount you’d spend in Hawaii! June is a busy time due to graduation, so put in your order ASAP!

A little slice of Hawaii in Wallingford, whowudathunk? Well this has been my go-​spot for leis when graduation season hits, or for the guest of honor at a celebration gathering. They do sell discounted leis but I would only get those if you are giving it the same day. Other than that, go with the fresher ones if you are buying these ahead of time. Also, if you are planning to fly out same day when buying leis, make sure you bring a plastic bag with ziplocks to fill with ice after you get through airport security. This will help keep your lei fresh during your flight. My last visit here, the lady was kind to give me ziplocks after I purchased the lei. I really appreciate that she went above and beyond to ensure the longevity of the lei.
In addition to leis, you will also find products from Hawaii, as well as party décor. I planned a Hawaii-​themed bridal shower for a friend awhile ago so this place was a lifesaver for last min needs.

Such a cute store. The old lady (ladies) that own the store are super helpful and nice. There’s a huge selection of all the Hawaiian items you could hope for. I’ll definitely be coming back here when I need a dose of Hawaii. Great selection of apparel, leis, ukuleles, and more. They even had the strideline socks that have the Hawaiian islands printed on them. Basically hit all my expectations and now I don’t need to rely on Amazon to get my dose of nostalgia.

Wha a nice little surprise while walking through Wallingford! I’ve never been to Hawaii but felt like I was transported there when sifting through the goodies in this store. If you’re looking for island goodies, macadamia nut yummies or decorations for a tiki themed party, this is the place. I really didn’t NEED anything but really dug the vibe of this place and love supporting a local business so I picked up a lunch tote and chocolate macadamia nut candies. The lady working there was extremely friendly and gave off the aloha spirit. Now to start looking at flights to the Big Island…

Cute shop in Wallingford with the aloha spirit! The owner of the shop was super nice and we traded stories. They sell everything from Hawaiian Sun products, to stickers and Hawaiian music. I love the look and feel of the shop. Made us feel like we took a pit stop to the islands! Mahalo!

A bit of Hawaii in Seattle. I come here to get my fix. need locals? they have them. need Kauai cookies? fresh leis? kukui oil? Mac nut pancake batter? they have them. ukulele? That too. i got my terraniva perfume essence and it is the closest thing you can get to real plumeria scent in Hawaii. they close early though so make it in before 6.

I have passed the Hawaii General Store a million times over the years, but yesterday I actually had a reason to go in, and I’m so glad I did! I didn’t have quite enough space in my carry-​on to bring my coworkers gifts from my recent trip to O’ahu, and this store totally saved me!
The selection of items is awesome, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Even on a grey drizzly Seattle day, I felt like I had a tiny extension of my «Island Time».
I will definitely be back, maybe to get that taro pancake mix, and a few more pineapple candles…

Great store for your Hawaii fix. I love that they fly in fresh leis for retail. You can even special order them ahead of time. The staff is friendly and nice. They definitely have the aloha spirit!

Years ago I had a Hawaiian shirt that I combed through for for what seemed to be like an eternity. It was years to what I thought to be the right one calling out to me. Once I found it I only had the opportunity to wear it once. I washed it and the shirt came out in tatters. If there were Hawaiian demons to curse at that is what I was doing when the unfortunate incident ocurred.
When I found the Hawaii General Store I wanted to go in here in hopes of finding another «perfect» Hawaiian shirt again. Unfortunately I did not find one that «hit me the right way» but that is ok. I found a place in Tacoma that pretty much ended that long search.
Besides going Hawaiian shirt hunting I wanted to see what else this place had to offer. I was impressed! They have lots of Hawaiian snacks and drinks that I thought I would not see unless I went to the islands again. They have home décor, jewelry and many kinds of Hawiian acessories to pour through. Despite not finding precisely what I was looking for they have lots of clothes for both men and women as well.
Probably my favorite items in there that I found was lamps where the shades looked like mixed drinks and of course anything tiki.
The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming and I would love to go back again sometime!

I love these folks! I ordered leis online for a graduation ceremony, and I forgot to pick them up on the Saturday I was supposed to. One of the women came in on Sunday morning at 8am BEFORE OPENING just for me. She opened the door smiling and told me not to be sorry, and she was glad I was able to give the leis to my friends. What a beautiful, dedicated staff! Thank you so much, I will continue refer people to this cute shop.

I would highly recommend anyone traveling to Hawaii contact these folks. I googled «Hawaiian Travel Specialist» and was given a friendly, speedy package for air/​car rental and hotel (for Christmas travel) that was a better value than even my Starwood membership. I will absolutely call Kiapu and her staff again when I travel to Hawaii in the future.

I have been shopping and buying my lei’s from Hawaii General Store since it opened I believe 1999. Great local atmosphere and make you feel like you are back home. Very good selections of various small kine stuffs (various small nik-​naks). Nice selections of mu’u mu’u’s, crack seed, music, books, stuff for parties «Luau’s» and lots more. Gail, Kiapu, Terry and Sonya all very knowledgeable about Hawaiian culture and history. They just opened a travel agency a year or two back. Terry is the main person in charge of the HGS Travel. Great rates and he will always find the best deal unless you tell him specifics that you would like even though it is more. Hawaii General Store no ka oi!!! (Hawaii General Store is the Best!)

Talked with Terry about some Lei’s that I wanted to order… And he knew exactly what I wanted and so ordering was a Breeze. I lived in Hono. for 12yrs .but after being in Seattle for about 25 yrs now forgot some of the different lei’s that I used to buy in the Islands. but Terry knew exactly what I was trying to think of. in regards to the smell and colors of the flowers. Terry made it so easy to order. My niece should look like a Island girl when she Grads… Thanks to all at the store. and Terry.

As a local Hawaiian, the General Store is a place of great comfort to me. From the minute I walk in the door, I hear beautiful music that transports me back home. There are «touristy» things there but there are also things that I love. Won ton chips? Oh, yea. Bags of poi? Right on. Mele macs? Hell yeah!
If you want some legit Hawaii products go to the General Store. If they don’t have it, ask. You never know, they may know where to get it.

From the outside looking in it looks great.
We drove up from Olympia and got there before noon on a Sunday — all ads, phone message, and store signs say they’re open at noon on Sundays. We waited around (pacing up and down the street) for over half an hour for the store to open… nada. Super disappointed, we got back in the car and drove back home, empty handed. We’ll go back and hopefully I can update this review, but we’re definitely calling ahead.

As soon as you walk in you immediately feel the Aloha Spirit, as you are welcomed by the owners. Auntie is so sweet!
You can smell the plumaria flowers and all the «hawaiian» scents from their lotions. I’ve been here only once and that was to order a Lei, which was beautifully made and not that expensive.
They have aloha wear, snacks, hurricane popcorn, leis, lotions, houseware, a lot of different things! It definitely made me miss home!

I do love just wandering around in here. Having left Hawaii over 14 (yikes!) years ago, it’s nice to just get a little taste now and again.
It had the local fair along with the tourist good. I can also count on encountering someone to speak Hawaiian pidgin with for a few before continuing on my way.
