Holy Mountain Brewing

Holy mountain, what can I say? You are the only brewery I go to now that I have found you. You are the best brewery in Seattle, and even old favorites are less appealing. You could say I am holy mountain monogamous; I mean I keep having some cheap filings on the side, and some out of town affairs, but I keep coming home to you.

Great brewery! Inviting location with big tables that allow us to cozy up with a flight on a rainy day and play a board game. The beer is top notch. Some of the best stuff we’ve had in Seattle!

A very hipster Seattle brewery! I found this brewery randomly when exploring with my roommate in the area, and have been wanting to try some new beer joints in Seattle. Upon entering we were greeted, and seated in this really large booth (there were only 2 of us). Plenty of seating in this brewery! Also, I think it’s great they offer half-​pours so you are able to try multiple beers. Overall, I found the beers to be nothing special in terms of their variety, but nice staff and reasonable prices.

The best brewery in the entire Seattle area in my opinion. This place is and their beers are easy to love. The minimalist interior and windows through to the brewing area are really cool and the atmosphere is very casual. The employees always seem to really be enjoying themselves. And most importantly, just really good beer.

Easily one of the best breweries I’ve been to, and I used to be a patron of Russian River Brewing. Every employee I’ve met here has been very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. The Celestial Lineage is a must!

Nice place, a bit out of the way. Had a couple of their Bonne something or others and liked them. Not blown away, but good.

More like holy delicious. I drank a lot of beer on my trip to Seattle and this was by far my favorite brewery. I’m a big fan of sour beer and they had multiple variations on my visit. The apricot sour was my favorite, but the grisette and the gose were both great as well. I didn’t try anything other than sours, but I’d assume that their other beer is just as good. The tap room is nice and large with booths and communal tables, so it’s not hard to find a spot. I’ll definitely be on the look out for this brewery in the future.

This was the first brewery we stopped by while in Seattle, only because we knew we had to come here first.
The tasting room is huge, with vast white walls and angled wooden benches and countertops. There are plenty of seats at the bar, on the tables, and in the booths. The beertenders were all friendly and checked up on us often.
Our favorite: Cascade Table Sour. I wish they still had bottles of this!
Other solid brews: The Wrest, Misere au Borinage, Celestial Lineage, Kiln & Cone, Wheel of the Year, Bonne Nuit
The building itself is easy to miss when you’re driving by and the parking lot in the front is kind of small, but they have additional parking in the back. All in all, a definite must-​drink while in Seattle.

I heart this place so much and don’t make it in nearly as much as I’d like. While every beer I’ve had there might not have been to my taste (though MANY have been — they do delicious work), I’ve never had one that I didn’t think was an exceptionally well-​crafted beer. It’s right on the Rapidride D line so it’s easy to get to from downtown or Ballard adjacent (they have parking too, but driving can limit the amount of beer sampling one can do so I try to avoid it).
I haven’t had much luck catching them when a food truck was there, but they are very happy for you to bring your own food, and I think they have some take-​out/​delivery menus around. They’re also very cool if you bring in snacks and a board game and spend a few hours playing Catan and drinking oodles of beer — pro tip.
And the atmosphere is good — the décor isn’t fussy, and the service is always friendly. And I don’t think I can emphasize that last point enough. My best friend and I are craft beer enthusiasts, but look like (and kinda are) girly-​girls. I have been treated dismissively in beer nerd bars, as far as I can tell for not being a beardy guy in a plaid shirt (no I do not want a Corona, thankyouverymuch). I have never felt the slightest bit out of place at Holy Mountain, even on days when the rest of the crowd has quite closely fit the traditional beer enthusiast look. Good crowd, great staff, deeeelicious beer.

Holy mountain was our first stop during a PNW beer trip. We stopped by on a Thursday night, and the two gentlemen working were awesome. They talked to us all about the brewery, and details about the beer. They were both so kind and took the time to recommend restaurants and bars in the area.
Now to the beer, I had the Black beer and the Gose. Both were delicious! The boyfriend had the kiln and cone, and the Kings head (on nitro I think). The black beer was so yummy, we took home a growler!
If your in Seattle this place is a must stop!

Passing by on the main street, you wouldn’t notice that there is a fairly large brewing operation going on inside. They have a tiny parking lot that they share with the wholesale gourmet food place next door. If you drive around back, there’s a much larger parking space that makes sense when you walk inside to a medium sized taproom.
They have a very nordic industrialist vibe going on that works in this setting. I think the roar of the train passing by the back door actually adds to the allure of the industrial beer sipping experience.
They only do full and half pours here so no samplers to be had. The full pour seems to be of much better value.
Their house pale ale, Kiln & Cone had a very malty finish. A unique, not overly hopped pale.
Their Holy Mountain Black Beer was available on nitro so of course that’s what I got. Looks like a Guinness but tastes much better. I’m not sure how much I would enjoy this if it wasn’t on nitro since after the head began dying, so did the flavor.
They seem to have different versions of King’s Head. On this occasion it was bourbon barrel aged. They aren’t joking around when they say it tastes like coconut and marshmallow. It really does! Maybe a little too much.
The espresso infused version of King’s Head on nitro was even better! It sips like a potent iced cold brew coffee. At $ 7 for a full pour, the price is right too. This beer is exactly what I was expecting when I bookmarked this unknown brewery, located off the beaten path. Certainly worth the trip way out to this land the locals refer to as Interbay.
While the majority of their beer style don’t really appeal to me, you would be wise to check out this up ‘n coming brewery. Especially if if you enjoy funky beer styles. You may just find a new favorite beer.

Cool, minimalist brewery in Interbay. Holy Mountain Brewing is one of the newest kids to hit the Brewery scene in Seattle. And as far as I know it’s the only one in Interbay. So that being said, location isn’t ideal for brewery hopping if you’re on foot, unless this is your first stop.
Aside from it’s location, parking up front is minuscule. There are only about 2 – 3 spots, I recall. But if you wander out back by the train tracks, then you’ll be able to find parking pretty easily. Since we parked out front, we entered through what seemed like the back way. We passed a bike rack, which is always a good thing. And a couple of restrooms before we hit the actual tap room. Now the setting is very industrial, clean and white. There are picnic tables towards the back, booths aligning the walls, some tables and chairs peppered throughout and the bar, cuz you know I always sit by the bar if I can. They had the dock doors open which offered a cool view of the cruise ships, and an almost deafening train experience, which I would imagine you would get used too after a couple beers.
A few things to note: it is 21+ and pets are not allowed. When we came there were about 11 taps featured. They also do not offer tastes. It is either full or half pours and are priced accordingly. My husband and I each a had full and then a half pour of different brews. I had a full pour of the saison and a half of the lager. Both were light and refreshing on a hot Seattle summer day. My hubby had a full pour of the pale ale and a half of the nitro milk stout. The staff were super cool too. They offered some suggestions and advice on the brews.
Would I make this my regular stop when brewery hopping? Maybe if I was going from Ballard to SODO or vice versa. But it’s definitely worth checking out!

New Brewery tucked away by train tracks. huge industrial warehouse space and great beers so far. Tried the ceremony pale-​LOVE Love CITRA. MY fav so far. The white lodge tastes like banana wheat — refreshing. there are sours here. Not a fan but they have them. music? not my flavor. hard rock or metal maybe? I dunno. warm day calls for happy warm tunes maybe? Caters to the crowd I guess. here with geeky girls who loves beer. It’s a good Monday.

Being situated by the railroad tracks with a loading dock entrance might fool some into thinking this isn’t the most kick-​ass brewery to open in Seattle recently. Don’t be one of them. Holy Mountain has a lot to offer and I imagine the following for this place will increase tenfold this summer.
The space itself is welcoming and has an industrial feel to it, made warm with the sunlight pouring in from an open dock door. The service is phenomenal; the people who work here want to be here. Moreover, they are knowledgeable in a completely unpretentious way – something to be cherished for sure.
They don’t have food which worried me as I landed here after hiking Mount Pilchuck. Fear not, you with the growling stomach, Holy Mountain has you covered. Pagliacci Pizza delivers and the man pouring your beer is happy to give you a menu (bless his sweet heart).
The beer, yes, let’s touch on the beer. It’s good stuff. Seems like lately when a new brewery pops up I am disappointed with the home brew like beers offerred, almost like someone didn’t want to invest the time necessary to hone their craft and make a truly phenomenal beer. Not here. Not at all.
With the exception of the Saison (overly acidic, unfortunate puke-​like flavor), every single beer that crossed my lips was met with a smile. Kiln and Cone should not be missed – crisp and citrusy and hoppy and wholly drinkable. Note your mileage may vary as the mix of hops used isn’t consistent making for a unique taste each time.

You guys, this is my 800^th review and I wanted it to be a good one! I had to pick Holy Mountain Brewing to award this honor and 5-​star review.
The minute I walked into Holy Mountain it was just like whoa, this place has an AMAZING aesthetic. White walls, minimal bare wood, and some hints of metal. The space is open, clean, and feels comforting in that minimalist-​this-​place-​looks-​like-​it-​just-​came-​out-​of-​a-​magazine way. It’s not all looks, the beers here are fantastic. As someone who used to regularly enjoy Russian River and currently imbibes on Cascade I have to say their sours and belgian-​style ales are pretty good. The Third Nail, specifically, was well-​balanced but still tasted of a wine barrel-​aged beer. Their traditional styles were also impressive, with my favorite being both the Kiln & Cone with its delicious dry-​hopped flavor and the Watchman’s House, a malty steam beer. They do not do ‘samplers’ but do half pours, which are actually perfect for enjoying their delicious beers. After this visit I now have my eye out here in PDX for these beers. Holy Mountain is a must if you wish to appease your eyes and your tongue. They are definitely my new favorite Seattle brewery.

As soon as I saw this brewery open with this name I assumed it was based on the movie. My hunch was confirmed. I asked a barkeep on my visit here and they did say the name was inspired by a band (sorry guys, I don’t remember the name of the band) and Alejandro Jodorowsky’s film of the same name, The Holy Mountain. If you like trippy, acidy, hippie, new age spirituality kind of films then I definitely recommend them. El Topo and Santa Sangre are other favorites he has done.
Anyway. .onto what this review actually pertains to… the beer and the business! The beer was excellent! I had the Silent Sun which had an amazing flavor to this wit beer and Steve had The White Lodge which was also fantastic!
The service is good, atmosphere is fun… definitely tipping it’s head towards the movie with it’s peaked booths. On a hot day they have the garage doors up and if there are train tracks there. If they are switching cars then there is lots of squeaking but you get passed it. Nice logos for their t shirts which are very popular because «Large» sizes are often out of stock… leaving only «small» sizes behind.
Definitely recommended if you are a craft beer snob and a movie snob.

Damn idk where to start. I love Holy Mountain.
Astral Projection Double IPA changed the game and that’s all you really need to know. It gets straight to the point — crisp, hoppy, citrus/​tropical flavors, just enough sweetness, and not overly bitter. Medium bodied and fairly smooth finish. A perfect buzz. Also tried the Bonne Nuit which is a Belgian style ale, and the King’s Head double brown ale. Both were enjoyable and easy to drink. There’s a beer for everyone here, any preference, even if you don’t fux with beer that much. Quality, taste, and craftsmanship is simply outstanding.
Holy Mountain is a little out of the way, keep driving past Interbay Driving Range on Elliott Ave. Outside is inconspicuous, warehouse vibes. When you first enter it feels like Killuminati, prayer hands. On some secret society shit. Walk to the end of the hall and enter the taproom on your left. Everything is really minimalist in design, concrete floor, white walls, high ceilings. The space is open but it was packed on a weekend, really loud, hard to find a seat, you might have to share a table. Order at the register. Reasonable prices, exceptional beer. No complaints.
Need to come back and do some half pours. Fr fr, don’t sleep on Holy Mountain.

If you are a reader of my reviews you will know that I always love visiting breweries wherever I go. I have been doing this for a long long time now. I have been a Unilocaler now for just over 6 years and as more and more people are writing reviews my brewery visiting has become focused more on newer breweries. Those that don’t have 100’s or 1000’s of reviews. It was with that in mind that I found Holy Mountain.
Actually that is a lie. We were driving along Elliott Ave one day heading somewhere else and I happened to see Holy Mountain out of the corner of my eye. When I did a search for it I saw that it was fairly new and I also knew it was walkable from my friends apartment. Done and done.
I came here on a sunny Monday afternoon. Was quite surprised to see that the place was busy. I brought my book and was just looking to enjoy some good beer with said book while passing the time and waiting for my friends to finish with their workday.
Walked in and was immediately welcomed. I took a seat toward the back of the establishment and was handed a beer menu. I now understand the power of the half pour, but more on that in a bit. On this day the full pours of beer (I think they are 13 oz) ranged from $ 4-​$ 6. Half pours (6 oz if memory serves me right) were $ 2-​$ 3.
I started out with the Kiln & Cone (normally $ 4 for a full, but on this day it was on special for $ 3 which I didn’t realize until after I ordered it) which is an American Pale Ale. At 5.2% ABV this could be a good sessionable ale, but it is right there on the cusp of not being sessionable. It was a lovely beer for a warm and sunny day.
Back to the half pours. I knew I wanted to try more of their beers, but I was starting to get a bit of a buzz (no need to worry as I was walking home). That is where the half pour becomes your best friend. For $ 2 I had a half pour of The Arrow which is their Tart Farmhouse Ale. I am a fan of tart beers. Not for everyone, but certainly for me. At 3.5% ABV this was a very easy one to drink. That is, if you like tarts. I was happy I got to try another one of their beers without having to get another full pour.
The place is very clean. Lots of white, lots of wood and good light from the open garage door. I can understand why people like this brewery.

Fantastic beer. Everything we tasted ranged from great to exceptional. The double ipa, Astral Projection, competes with Pliny the Elder. It is a very well balanced and truly delicious beer.
The actual location is bright and welcoming. We will be coming here again.
Only gripe would be dogs are not allowed.
