«Open» does not mean much on Weekends. No Staff. No Sandwiches. No Soup. Nothing really except cold Pizza and the salad bar setup on Friday. Disingenuous People.

Oh. My. Goodness. Everything about this place! Looking for a relaxed ambiance for an affordable price? This is it! I stumbled in looking for a quick small bite. They have sectioned out different types of foods within… Up top you can order made to order sandwiches, rice bowls, pizza and other yummy treats… In the middle was full meals with a ton of meats called«the assembly line»… Then this little coffee shop at the end(where I chose). Jonathan made me this amazing matcha latte with honey(thanks for the suggestion) and I had this TODIEFOR savory pastry. It was fresh bread with herbs and feta on it(tastes so much better than it sounds)! The bread was buttery, and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. I sat next to the window on soft cushioned seats with a fireplace on my other side. Definitely stopping by again before I return to DC. Yum yum yummmmmm

Home Remedy is about a two minute walk away from my work, so it’s super convenient. Until today I’ve always had intentions to stop in but never have… Super glad I did! From what I saw HR has everything. You can even sit here and enjoy a beer, which is awesome! They have quick grab n’ go lunch snacks, frozen foods, a vast drink selection… Whatever you could want, they probably have. What really impresses me is their more extensive lunch options: salads, bowls, pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, Indian burritos… All of which sound amazing, by the way. I ended up going with the Pressed Cuban Sandwich and I do not regret it at all. The Pressed Cuban consists of salsa verde braised pork shoulder, black forest ham, pickle slices, swiss cheese, and mustard on a baguette. You also get a dill pickle spear to accompany it. The sandwich was sooo good. Mouth watering, even. The pork shoulder was so tender and so full of flavor. My only wish is that it’d be nice to have a spicy mustard rather than a yellow mustard. While I will preach HR to my coworkers and friends, I do have to point out one negative: kind of expensive, in my opinion. Paid $ 12 for my sandwich… While I got pretty full and it was preeetyy good, I can’t help but feel that’s kind of a high price tag. Whatever, I’ll be back.

IFYOUCOMEHEREONTHEWEEKEND, they are open, but they do not serve any food from the cook to order menu. The only food available on the weekend is pizza and salad/soup bar. The salad bar was delicious and fresh– definitely nicer than Whole Foods. I had a nice meal but would have liked to know they weren’t going to be making sandwiches on the weekend. So hopefully this post helps someone else out! :)

This store is so cute, loved being in here. Assortment of la croix, cheeses, beer/wine, homemade foods. The aroma of fresh pizza cooking is delightful. Store employees are friendly and give great advice. I was distracted by their soft serve. Yum!

Cool place with food stalls and grocery shopping. Nice hang out place. Lots of Tom Douglas food spices, sauces etc. And places to sit.

We ordered the chicken and lamb Frankies each. They were quite tasty and had a good amount of filling in them. I was a bit disappointed in their ingredients. First, they used an unappetizing tortilla to wrap even though their description said ‘homemade chapati bread’. It wasn’t even close. Second, they used egg substitute from a carton. Honestly — is it that hard to crack a fresh egg?

I have been here three times hoping that it would be great since I have heard so many good things. I was let down each time. The first time I had a wrap. It was alright, but nothing spectacular. The last two times I got pizza. The first pizza was burnt and inedible. The sauce seemed good and so I thought I would try again. It was alright, but my piece looked like it has been chewed on by a dog …

Review for pork shoulder with white rice base only. Pros: Well balanced acidity and sweetness in the pork and vegetables. Refreshing and sharp cucumber radish salad provided a nice contrast. Cons: One note flavor, no clear interplay between meat and vegetables. All had about the same texture. Rice was cooked to oblivion and very mushy. Not how rice should be at all. Crispy topping was an unnecessary garnish and only mimicked the texture provided by the cucumber salad.

Salad bar is so fresh and refreshing, definitely needed after a week of being a tourist. Chicken Masala burrito was Awesome but I fell in love with the Cuban Sandwhich, better than portos in LA. Definitely a must need lunch spot, relaxing and is a great fit for in between the work day.

Backlog of Unilocal posts since early June, but this second visit to Home Remedy needs to written tout de suite! Good fortune of wide open on I-5 to/from Shoreline, free street parking on Labor Day, and armed with a 50% off Chinook coupon, it is time to check out a whole pizza pie from this Tom Douglas establishment. Selected a basic whole cheese pizza, but added sausage and gorgonzola. The toppings vary daily, but one can get inspired by what’s featured at their salad bar too. I was also able to wander this gourmet shop while waiting for my pizza to bake… there was Sweet Lo’s ice cream, Hot Cakes chocolate covered hazelnuts, ciders, ginger beers, wine, ramen noodles, Stumptown ice coffee, sausages, frozen Serious Biscuits, gourmet frozen entrees, this sure is a high-end bodega. The Via6 folks that live above this T-Doug block clearly aren’t in my income bracket! Thankfully, I exercised restraint because my finances were a bit drained from recent travel and car maintenance. But I did spot some salami from Salt Blade($ 11.95 for 3.5 ounces) that I had to add at the checkout while paying for the pizza. Why Salt Blade? Piqued my interest after reading this particular Seattle Weekly article: Anyways, high score attributed to all-around friendly service, and of course, one heck of a ginormous and tasty pie(one slice did me in) from Home Remedy.

I used to go here all the time because it’s just so convenient and the made-to-order food is good(the cold bar is not), but the mark-ups and extra taxes are getting ridiculous. I’ll be walking the extra couple of blocks to Whole Foods from now on, which yes, of the two, is actually the cheaper option. Oh and Tom Douglas is justifying his mark-ups and«2% wage equity surcharge» because of the increase of minimum wage. If the solo independently-owned restaurant that I work at can handle the wage increase without making the customer pay significantly, so can the Tom Douglas empire.

I always come here for the rice bowls during lunch — I get the pork shoulder with the sweet potatoes(instead of rice). It is absolutely delicious and semi-healhy with the sweet potatoes. I love the combination of meat, sweet potato, mushroom, some salad and pickled radishes. No complaints and quite filling. There’s also a variety of other goodies here that I’ve heard are good. Haven’t tried them, but would go back to try them sometime if I’m not in the mood for a rice bowl. In terms of the location, Home Remedy is on the bottom floor of Via6, which is an apartment/housing building. There’s a few other food choices in the bottom floor as well!

Tried their rice bowl with teriyaki pork shoulder. Great place for lunch! Good balance of vegetables and meat. Reasonable price and extremely comfortable environment.

Just dropped by to reaffirm my 5 star rating. I’m chomping on the latest iteration of their banh mi(with jalapenos and some pickled veggies in addition to a new spicy mayo). THISSANDWICHISOFFTHEHOOK! I don’t say that lightly, I’m a very critical sandwich eater. Their rice bowls are #1, too. Seriously, they’re better than this banh mi, and I can’t tell you how that’s possible. Also — your pooch is welcome in the building with a dog hook by the counter so everyone else with equivalently high lunch standards can give him a pat on the head.

I go to this place for lunch for a regular basis since my work happen to be close by, and have tried almost everything in their menu. If you are a fan of T-Douglas’s food, here is the place you can find several of his famous food in to go containers or frozen packs. They also have great selections of cheese, wine, awesome sodas, and severely Asian ingredients. All the made-to-order food and salad bar are tasty and made with really great fresh ingredients. Pizza by slice is one of the greatest options they have, with only $ 4.50 for a really huge slice(a size of my face). The only reason I would take one star off is the the overall price(except the pizza). I understand that everything there is really in great quality and many things do worth what you pay for, but a lot of same Asian stuff that you can find there are usually 50% higher than the same thing you can get at Uwajimaya. I recalled one time seeing instant noodle marked $ 3-$ 4 a pack for the kind that I can get for $ 75 in ID. They also recently added hotdog bar into their selection, but $ 7 a hotdog scared me. I’m sure it would be really good hotdog, just like any other food there, but I’m not sure I’m willing to spend $ 7 for a hotdog yet.

Lynnae’s Pickles! Fancy salts! Cheese! Good chocolate! I didn’t end up buying anything because I didn’t want to carry things around for hours, but I love the options! I would probably stop by pretty frequently if I lived and/or had an office in Belltown. In the future I hope to check out their salad bar and maybe try one of the rice bowls.

Third time eating here tonight, and I must say I do love this little place. The cheese pizza(the ultimate test for one’s pizza skill) is spot on. Cookies: amazing. I suggest the chocolate with walnuts… Salad bar: like whole foods minus all the people and harsh lighting. Really great fresh options Bowls: SOGOOD. I’m from Hawaii and I loved the Asian twist they out on these with the daikon and half egg. Really nicely done. Friendly workers who remember your name also is wonderful! Great selection of artisan beer and wine. Also, lovely rose lemonade that I’m a big fan of right now.

The four stars is for the bowls. You can choose your base — white rice, brown rice or baked sweet potato(! this is what I got!) Then a topping: I got the teriyaki chicken. They add some veggies, some crunchy topping and sauce. Take it to the upstairs area where they have some comfy couches, and voila, a perfect lunch! They also have an Indian burrito — definitely not as good. Lots of tortilla, lots of potatoes… and just very heavy. I would give that one 2 stars! The whole Tanakasan, Assembly Hall, Home Remedy area is doing a promotion with their fried chicken dishes in yet another area of the floor. I think it’s buy one get one free, but I didn’t end up trying it.

I want to scoff at the concept of this spot which, to me, screams high-end dining hall in a high-end dorm for young Amazonians who can’t cook but I can’t deny the food is good. I’ve had the pizza and salad bar here and both are great. I really like the farro salad in the salad bar and I like how many options they have here. They also do rice bowls, noodles, salads, burritos and there’s juices and coffees in Assembly Hall next door. It’s a little more expensive, especially for the salad bar but yeah… I expected that. This place is pretty much a mini Whole Foods for when Amazonians head home and want more of that. No complaints!
