The hot dogs were super delicious I just thought they could have done better on quantity… Although the quality was perfect! Definitely am looking forward to trying the variety of choices that they have to offer granted I only have been once so who knows, maybe the next one might be bigger and more filling.

Just simply amazing! It’s been a while and I thought they went out of business but apparently they didn’t… these hot dogs are amazing and the staff is too. Highly recommended.

We need a name for this hot dog stand, but I guess«Hot Dog Stand in Front of Neighbors» is cool too because you can’t blame yourself for not being able to find it. I think it should be more specific, it should be «Hot Dog Stand in Shells Gas Station» because it literally is in that gas station on Broadway where the nightlife rolls. I can always count on this hot dog stand to be there and open after a long night of bar hopping and clubbing. The line will be long, especially if you come after the nightlife entertainments closes around 2am and not a single good restaurant around is still open for food. Even with the longer line, it goes by pretty fast, but honestly for the drunk and hungry, it doesn’t matter either way. There’s quite the selection of hot dogs on the menu. Everything is $ 5 regardless what kind of hot dog you get, but I’m telling you, it’s a million times better than your typical ketchup and mustard hot dog that you can get anywhere else. The reason why I specially go to this hot dog stand over any other in Capitol Hill is to get a bite or 7 at their California Dog. Who ever thought of putting cream cheese spread and pico de gallo(diced tomatoes, cilantros, chopped onions) on a delicious, unhealthy piece of meat between a hoagie is freaking genius. For 5 dollars too, hell yeah. If you have a chance, the Hawaiian Dog is an excellent choice too. Cream cheese, shredded cheese, and pineapples. If you want to play it safe, there’s always the classic Seattle Dog for you. Cream cheese and grilled onions. I think you can see how magical adding cream cheese to anything is. Mmmhmm. There’s a condiment table right by the stand that contains anything from your standard ketchup/mustard to jalapenos to Sriracha hot sauce. Tell me about your experience if you’ve been here or is going to after reading this review:)

This place is ridiculous! These hot dogs will blow your mind. I’ve tried both the Louisiana style and California style, and both were outrageously good. The Louisiana style comes with cream cheese, tons of chorizo, and grilled onions. Yes, it is as amazing as it sounds. The California style has cream cheese, pico de gallo, grilled onions, and cilantro. I wasn’t expecting to like this one since I don’t normally like pico de gallo, but it turned out to be ridiculously good too. Now I have to try out the rest of their menu, as I have a sneaking suspicion that all of their hot dogs are outstanding. The hot dogs are made extremely quickly(seriously, you’ll tell the guy your order and after paying you’ll immediately have a hot dog in your hand), are loaded with toppings, and are absolutely worth the $ 5 you’ll pay. I love this place so much I wish they were open every day at normal hours so I could get hot dogs whenever I have a craving. Instead I just have to dream about them throughout the week until they open again(which is late on the weekend if you haven’t been here before).

Best hot dogs I’ve ever had. I found this place by accident wandering Capitol Hill on a Friday night. Sometimes I forget to eat then all of a sudden hunger will hit me like a Richard Sherman tackle. All the bars and restaurants seemed packed so I kept walking and encountered this little hot dog stand from a nice looking dude so I thought I’ll just get a couple hot dogs. So I was like«Hey can I get a couple hot dogs?» and he gave me a couple hot dogs. At first I saw the $ 12 price tag for a couple hot dogs and thought I had been cheated until I took my first bite. The plan was to take a bite to last me until I walked home a few blocks away, but after the first bite I had to sit my butt down on a bench and finish the hot dogs. And I wanted to get home so I ended up walking and eating to finish the 2nd one and didn’t have any by the time I got home! The only thing that rivals these hot dogs are the kind of hot dogs your friend’s dad would grill at get togethers when you were 14 playing video games and drinking Mountain Dew. Or maybe a true NYC brat. But keep in mind the power of nostalgia and the elated feeling of NYC and these were just some simple hot dogs in Seattle from a hot dog stand and I still have to say these are the best hot dogs I’ve ever had. When friends visit me I’m going to definitely recommend this place.

I live about an hour form Capitol Hill and I am willing to make that drive in the middle of the night just for these hot dogs. SOGOOD.

I like the name for this place. Super official. My boyfriend and I were in search of something to eat on Cap Hill, but didn’t want to go to Freddy Jr’s(they’re all dickholes there — never again). We weren’t even looking at Hot Dog Stand as an option, but it smelled SOGOOD. So we went for it. I ended up getting a Seattle Dog, as I’ve never tried one and thought it was about time. My boyfriend got the Louisiana Dog. The Seattle Dog just had cream cheese & onions on it, while the Louisiana had chorizo style bacon, mozzarella, and cream cheese. I was a little jealous because for some reason, my boyfriend’s hot dog was a lot bigger than mine…(haha, but seriously). We were both super happy with our dogs — and total we only paid $ 9! Deallzzzz. Only reason I give it a 4 is because they only accept cash. We had to go to the gas station right behind the stand to get cash(they had the dogs ready for us when we got back) but we had to stand in a line to get INTO the gas station and get through security to get into the gas station… So take note of that. Not exactly sure we’ll be regulars, as we NEVER come to Cap Hill, but it’s worth the try if ya drunk ass is looking for something to snack on.

Wow. I have to say that this place is a hidden gem in probably what I consider to be a really sketchy part of Seattle at night. Came here around midnight on a Sunday night and everything about it seemed scary. However, the hot dog I was able to try here was the bomb. Keep in mind that this place is cash only so make sure to have money on your backs at this place. I ordered the Louisiana Style dog. While I exactly don’t remember what it contained, the flavors of the meat, cheeses, and bacon pieces really made the whole sandwich come together. There was also something special about the bread. If I had the chance, I would definitely come back to try all their dogs. Keep in mind, it seems to be a lot of gay bars and clubs around this area. You WILL definitely meet some interesting people at night in this place.

the California is the best hot dog you’ll have in your life! service is lightning fast and the price is right at $ 5 for a meal that fill you up plenty. it’s the only hot dog stand in Seattle that i patronize for the simple fact that you can never go back from something that good. this truck is now located at the shell on the NE corner of Broadway & Pike.

Chorizo Dog is bomb! So bomb i have to double fist. Only down point is the opening hours! What if I want a chorizo dog at midday? What if im drunk at 10am in the morning? What am I going to eat then? Selfish hotdog stand owner!

This is my spot. I always tell people that if I ever move away and come back to Seattle, the Louisiana hot dog is on my top 5 meals to have. It’s a spicy chorizo hot dog with caramelized onions and cream cheese to balance the flavors. I’ve tried to recreate this at home, but it’s just not the same! It’s the perfect post-Cap Hill shenanigans, late night bite. Don’t forget it’s cash only. I love that I have no idea what to call this place other than the«Mexican hot dog stand next to the Shell gas station». This is by far my favorite hot dog stand in all of Seattle.

WHYAREN’T YOUGUYSHEREANYMORE?! After a night of drinking, we always end up in front of the Shell gas station for hot dogs. The Louisiana and the Baja are the yummiest!!! Hawaiian was alright, but the former more than makes up for it. However, the past few weeks, they have been MIA when I’ve gone out, and me and my buds have been terribly disappointed. Please come back? P.S Cash only

A must after a night of drinking/dancing/anything…drunk or sober, these hot dogs are da bizness. The Louisiana Dog. good lord. Chorizo, cheese, cream cheese, and onions. Yes. Chorizo. On. Your. Hotdog. And they’re generous w/everything! You can also add extra toppings in a toppings and sauce bar next to the cart. This is my go-to hotdog stand whenever I’m out and about in Capitol Hill. The lines are long but go by quick. Best hot dog stand in Seattle.

Fun fact, dear readers: In LA, we have a plethora of those mobile carts grilling wonderful smelling bacon wrapped hot dogs on planchas outside of nightclubs and bars. Incidentally, a large percentage of these carts are owned by members of the infamous Salvadoran street gang Mara Salvatrucha aka MS-13. As gangsters of repute, they use extraordinary levels of violence and intimidation to further their criminal goals… yet when it comes to the hot dog business, they employ a slyer but no less insidious tactic to maximize their profits. To wit: As absentee owners, they generally hire broke ass people to work these carts. However, to prevent these employees from literally eating into their profits(consuming the inventory), said gangsters will routinely place all of the pre-grilled hot dogs into a bucket and piss all over them in front of the ostensibly horrified staff. As broke as the workers are, I highly doubt any save the most desperate would knowingly choose to eat urine marinated sausages. And to those thinking that I’m full of shit — so to speak — I’ve corroborated this story with several independent sources ranging from LAPD officers, old friends that have gang affiliations and also the barely concealed looks of acknowledgement from the cart workers eyes when I would ask them in my broke ass Spanish, «Oye, señora… estan esos hot dogs marinados en la… ‘come se dice’… pee pee?» Needless to say, I tend to avoid all of the«pee dogs» in LA for obvious reasons… but feeling especially saucy after a night of carousing up in Seattle — and predicting a limited scope of the gang’s influence in the Pacific Northwest — we ended up at this hot dog stand. Your humble author ordered a Seattle dog with a grilled polish sausage, cream cheese(como??) and a semi-obscene amount of grilled onions. $ 5 is a pricey setback but I was supremely impressed by the side of the cart that featured a bacchanalian amount of condiments ranging from Sriracha to Worcestershire to the five pounds of pickled jalapeño slices in the corner. First bite of the hot dog was a fantastic interplay of the crunchy savory link, the warm toasted bread, the tang of the jalapenos, the unctuous grilled onions and of course, the smooth rich mouth feel of the cream cheese background. The last item in particular felt like the culinary equivalent of a return to the womb. At my advanced age, I’ve noticed I’ve started to have more and more lapses of short term memory loss when drinking, but I will never forget the way that this hot dog changed my impressions of street food. Only later on did I realize that MS-13 doesn’t mess around and reps sets in Ontario Canada, Seattle(sigh) and even Catalina Island! *Imagining drive-by shootings employing golf carts* Still, my paradigm has shifted and there’s no turning back: «Oye, compa. Quisiera un Seattle dog… con ‘pipi’ extra!»

It was a fat line, so we had to check it out. We just asked for three of the most stacked dogs they had. The one I had was a dog covered with chorizo cheese. I can literally just stop my review here, because seriously. A dog covered with chorizo cheese. I am going to say that one more time for emphasis — DOGCOVEREDINCHORIZOCHEESE. Why have I never thought about making that myself. RIGHT. Because it takes a damn good stand to make a damn good dog for us after partiers. The line was long, but they are quick and push food out fast. They understand the cold struggle of nighttime Seattle streets. Conveniently located across the block from Q. I forgot what the other dog was called, but I took a picture of it on Unilocal,so you can just check that… It’s right outside of the gas station, so you can just loiter there around the truck to eat your noms and get full. The man who took care of us at the counter was super nice and awesome to chat with. All in all a good way to end your night.

«Whuuuuuuut!?» was my first thought when I heard about this hot dog stand. I’m sure everyone has been to a food stand outside of a bar — tacos, hot dogs, churros, etc. — especially when they’re drunk. But this food stand serves hot dog with cream cheese. CREAMCHEESE! A little weary at first, I decided to just share one($ 5) with my best friend. WHOA! Salty dog with creamy cream cheese on a warm bun. This is definitely something different for me! Since people love eating hot cheetos with cream cheese… and these hot dogs were delicious with cream cheese… cream cheese must be good on everything!

Doggone Good! SITREP This very esteemed Hot Dog Stand is near the corner of Broadway & Pine, and is one of my «go-to» dog stands in the Capitol Hill hood because of all the music venues & dance clubs that I go to here. THESETUP After an evening of listening to bands at THECOMET, or enjoying some great DJ-Dance energy at THEMERCURY, I will vector on over to this stand before I power walk(usually) the 15 minutes down Pine St. to the Convention Center Transit Center on the other side of I-5 to catch the bus back to my Seattle home-base in Northgate. The dog makes for a good munchie on the way down to the Center at a leisurely pace. OR, if truly in a rush, I just palm the dog as I power walk to the bus stop and then eat it while I wait for my bus. LEMENU This stand offers a LOT of wonderful different version. But when it comes to dogs in this hood, I’m a creature of habit and I default to the Seattle-style dog which means a healthy slathering of cream cheese on the bun, with a bunch of grilled onions. As it stands, THIS dog stand holds the record for the amount of grilled onions that go on the dog from my personal experience. Take a look at the pictures to see. THELOWDOWN Truly one of the best Hot Dog Stands in Seattle.

I finally get the fascination. After many times of walking other people here and not eating, I finally ate here and its worth the hype. I had the California style veggie dog. First of all, this isn’t your typical Field Grain Roast veggie sausage. Not that there’s anything wrong with those but I eat them so much elsewhere, it was nice to have a change. The green onions, cilantro, cream cheese and pico de gallo were perfection. As in, my stomach wasn’t feeling so good and then I ate it and immediately felt better. It even felt soothing which, unless it’s tea, clear soup or veggies, is rare for my super sensitive stomach. Oh so satisfying after a night out– but also equally satisfying in the middle of the night like I did. I can’t wait to try more of the different styles.

+ San Francisco’s bacon wrapped dogs(Check) + Waikiki’s Puka Dog,(Check) + Seattle’s Seattle Dog(CHECK!!!) Most major cities have their own version of a street dog and Seattle’s is a must try! We discovered this hot dog stand after a night out in Capitol HIll. We walked through an unfamiliar and sketchy looking alley which led us near Neighbors nightclub. I can already smell the hot dogs & onions and see drunk people with hot dogs, so we were definitely at the right spot! Line was short when we arrived, but it got long really fast since it’s near a couple of after hours night clubs, that are pretty well known in the city! The guy at the stand was quick with orders and preparing the dogs! The menu is pretty simple, and the hot dogs we got were delicious, especially with extra onions, and sour cream! Very good and filling! We wanted more the next day! *DRRROOOLLLLSSS*
