Food was ok, but their Chirashi bowl was very not worth the price. Waiter and I assume owner, was really nice, but food came out one by one and not together.

Easily the best teriyaki we have ever had. We have to drive 30 minutes to get here, but worth it. Mom and Pop run place, very friendly with excellent service. This place is small, seating approx. 30 people, you have to time it just right if you want to get a seat for lunch during the week.

LOVE Ichiro! Great food, great service. The sushi is very nice for the price. Could use a little better atmosphere and a better wine selection. Other than that it’s a great place for families or just to meet a friend.

I ordered a beef teriyaki and asked for it to be spicy… When I got home I was INSANELY disappointed to open it and see there were MUSHROOMS and onions mixed in with the teriyaki. They were small slices of mushrooms so I couldn’t pick them all out. I have never order teriyaki and had mushrooms be a part of it before. If I knew there were mushrooms I def wouldn’t have bought it cause now it’s wasted and not going to be touched… :( The sushi I ordered with it was delicious though and def recommend the sushi. And the people who work there are super sweet!

I love this place! The space is nothing fancy, but the food is consistently good, and the staff are so sweet. I love the sushi and my husband loves the teriyaki, so we are both happy! I always get a spicy tuna roll, its just my go to favorite… and then I experiment with another specialty roll, and I have never been disappointed. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Ichiro can be great, and can be meh. Tonight we had meh. The egg rolls seemed to have been fried a day ago, and the teriyaki chicken was pretty dry. Already in the bin. The beef was good.

Ichiro Sushi and Teriyaki will always hold a special place in my heart since it’s close to the park my fiancé and I said I love you to each other for the first time. :) I love the food here — both sushi and teriyaki! I usually order teriyaki when we come here and eat, but their sushi is very fresh and each piece of sashimi/roll has plenty of fish on it(compared to other sushi places that give you a disproportionate amount of fish vs. rice. My favorite teriyaki dish to get here is the Spicy Chicken — it’s actually spicy and I love how the dish comes with mushrooms and onions! Another thing I love that they do is put the salad in another box. It drives my crazy when teriyaki places put the salad in the same to-go box as the entrée so then they can give you even less rice and meat. Ichiro gives you PLENTY of rice and meat with each order. Each entrée is good enough for at least two meals for me! The people that work here are also VERY nice people. You can tell just by talking to them that they actually enjoy the restaurant biz and just want to see everyone have a happy meal at Ichiro. :)

I love this place! It has sushi for me and all kinds of dishes for my un loving sushi husband. It is quick, has takeout, has alcohol, is inexpensive, and has lots of choices. it is also near where we live, on Magnolia.

I’d recommend sticking with the teriyaki, as previous reviewers rant and rave about. I remember having the spicy chicken awhile back and it was good enough that I told myself I’d return again. Although this time I opted for the udon and 4-piece sushi which was nothing out of the ordinary, the cuts of nigiri were small and sad, and the salmon nigiri was the best tasting out of the staple assortment. I wouldn’t recommend a time out with friends here, but a decent stop for a casual lunch break– wait, I guess that’s how I’d describe any restaurant with the word Teriyaki in the title. Average.

I’m not sure my questions were heard, interpreted or answered correctly and I may have gluten poisoning tomorrow, but the food was fabulous! Quick Tips:(I may or may not have understood these correctly – lost in translation) 1. They don’t have green tea one month during the summer. It’s too hot in July. 2. They have gluten free soy(Tamari) but only in little packets, so if you can’t read the non-english writing on the soy packet, your options are to go without or trust them. 3. I ordered all gluten-free but my mouthwateringly awesome Canadian Roll came coated with ‘Crystal Shrimp’ not as in Castles or Meth, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t gluten-free. Although my rule is never to eat gluten when I ask and it’s mistakenly delivered anyway, I broke my rule and it was The. Best. Roll. Ever. Hope I’m well tomorrow.

I was excited to find a sushi shop in our neighborhood. However, it was like a step above grocery store sushi. It was good, totally decent sushi. It just didn’t taste… fresh. I didn’t feel like the ocean was in my mouth, and usually I feel that way when eating sushi. This was good sushi, and I’ll order it again when I just want some quick takeout. We ate inside, and they had a nice window a/c that kept the place surprisingly cool. They sat us as soon as we walked in the door and were very, very friendly. We ordered the shrimp and veggie tempura off the appetizer menu to start. I would not order it again. The tempura had no seasoning and slid off the veggies. I did like the choice of veggies though, a different assortment than I usually get-it had broccoli and onions included! The broth included to dip was good. I ordered the mexican roll which is a spicy california which I have ordered elsewhere many times. Usually it’s a spicy mayo on top. This was spicy on the inside, no spicy mayo. and it was HOT. Like red pepper flake hot which is TOO hot for me. I had to buy another roll(regular california) because it was just too hot. Also the crab is likely imitation, it did not taste fresh or real. It wasn’t bad though, just not great. I also ordered the shrimp tempura roll. This is my biggest issue with the place-they don’t explain everything that’s in the roll on the menu. This had teriyaki sauce all over the roll. I would have liked to have known that before ordering. It was very sticky, and very sweet. I liked the teriyaki sauce, but there was too much of it. The roll itself was very good though, and I’d order it again with less sauce. I will say the service was super fast and they were very friendly. Like I said, I’ll be back for takeout when there’s nothing in my house to eat, but I wouldn’t consider it «going out for sushi» quality at all.

The place is ok, we had the yacisiba and the teriyaki tofu and it was ok, the sauce was not overpower which is ok, but it would have been nice to have some on the side the veggie sushi roll was ok, not the best I’ve had but not the worse either. Once again magnolia food is mildly disappointing and probably won’t be back

Meh… Got the Veggie Yakisoba. BeWArE LOTS of Cabbage. The sauce was a bit watery as well. The Sushi was pretty sub par, but from what we’ve experienced in Magnolia, so are all the other restaurants

I loved this place, it was a wonderful surprise. Great rolls, sushi and a wonderful staff. Not a snooty place, just delicious food at reasonable prices.

Good and bad here. Ordered Chix teriyaki and it came quick and was pretty good, but obviously made in advance and not great. I’ll let you decide if that’s good or bad… Service was awful. Ordered at the counter and the woman was rude, you know those kind of people who hear your question, but don’t answer you and do what you ask. That, but surly. There seemed to be a lot of locals in the shop and they were obviously treated with more respect. Won’t be back.

This place was a random find but we are SOHAPPY we found it. Tucked away in Magnolia it’s on a quiet street with good parking. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. Best of all, they don’t charge too much. We tried the Hawaiian roll(pictured), Indian summer roll, the dynamite roll, and gyoza. Would recommend all of these things. Their teriyaki menu looked amazing too. Can’t wait to be back!

Is it the best teriyaki or sushi in Seattle? Probably not. Is it a decent option when you live in Magnolia and having a hankering for one or the other? Yep. I’ve eaten in and carried out; happy with all my experiences. The teriyaki portions are pretty good value for money… I haven’t tried any of their bentos or Chinese dishes. One caution about carrying out sushi — they will bag it with warm dishes and that’ll warm things up a bit. It’s not really hot per se, but it’s not how you’re used to eating sushi. You’re also not going to want to carry out things like hand rolls or salmon skin. You know, thing that can get funked with steam. I’m not sure it’s worthy of four stars, but I’ll do it ’cause there aren’t a lot of options ’round these parts.

The servings are generous, the staff is helpful and friendly, and there is something on the(huge) menu for everyone! We sit down for dinner everytime we go, but it seems like a lot of people take out. Sometimes there are noisy/crying kids in there, but it’s Magnolia so it’s to be expected. They are able to handle requests if you want to modify your meal(food allergies or pickiness) which is so nice.

Do you like goldfish? Do you like ice cream??? Then this is your place! The goldfish ice cream is the only thing authentic Japanese and is a must try! Everything else, however, was mediocre. The yakisoba was closer to what you’d expect from lo mein. They used the same frozen veggie stir fry mix in everything. The. Kung pao tofu was spineless and bland. But get the goldfish ice cream!
