So since I work here I am sometimes forced to eat here. Mind you Breakfast till usually 11, hey its 10:30 wheres the cream of wheat? Hey its $ 2.00 and you can add raisens, craisens, and brown sugar. I had the meatloaf here, its typical cafeteria food, and damn I used my lunch-time up for other stuff. But the prices seem ok for downtown. YOU need ID to get into the building and YOU will go through a metal detector and if your carrying anything an x-ray machine. So only eat here if your forced into the building. Reminder its closed at 2pm, woops your out of luck, Have cash for the little store in the lobby for a candy fix.

For me, trips to the Federal Building are to pick up tax forms. Other trips are to the cafeteria on the 2nd floor. I really can’t wax poetic about this place because it is what it is, a cafeteria. The food resembles glorified dorm food, but you actually get enough to feel satisfied. My most recent trip here I ordered one of their featured meals: roast turkey breast with mashed potatoes, gravy, choice of steamed vegetable or fried okra and cranberry sauce. This meal cost $ 5.99. They have three different stations for food: deli/grill, pizza and cuisines. There is a non-manned soup/salad station in the middle of the cafeteria. The food selection rotates weekly and they have a fresh sheet at the entrance listing what food is available for the week. Breakfast is served from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. I think this place is cash only, but I didn’t take a close look. I have always paid cash when coming here. The seating area is quite nice here which is surprising. It’s bright and very modern. Government chic? It clearly isn’t the dark dungeon it once was. One thing to remember: going to the Federal Building is like going to the airport — -you put your bags through the scanner/x-ray, walk through a metal detector and have to provide state or federal identification in order to enter.
