Joevir-The Art of Hair Design

Got haircut with Joevir. He is very nice and understands how hair works on each person very well. He also gave me some advice on how to treat my hair.

Stay away! I scheduled a time by Joevir last week for my graduation day and and he just called me and said he cannot find my in appointment list so the day he already set up is not available anymore. Super unprofessional and annoying.

I’ve also realized after going to Joevir, there is no actual discount if you purchase the Groupon. He told me to come back for a haircut for $ 42.what I paid for with my Groupon.
I wish I had looked at the reviews before buying the groupon… by far the WORST hair experience in my life!!! DO NOT GO HERE!
I arrived on the day we scheduled through texts only to find out my appt was actually the next day… and couldn’t fit me in! Excuse me? Such lies. I rescheduled since I could not wait and wish I hadn’t.
He was running late when I arrived early to our scheduled appointment. waited 15 minutes to have him rush me to the sink and add the conditioning treatment. He was doing 2 other people’s hair at the same time as mine so he left me at the sink to have the treatment set in, he left me there for 20 minutes! Then rushed me to the chair and rudely cut my hair. He cut my hair in 2 minutes and it was the worst haircut ever. I just asked for a trim! I could have done a better job. Then he rushed me to put me in the dryer for another 20 minutes while he colored another persons hair! A dryer for a haircut? When he went to «style» my hair all he did was coat my hair in spray then said I was done. This whole process took over an hour!!! When he spent 2 minutes on my hair. so awful. I would never recommend this salon to anyone!

Great service! Joevir was very friendly and helpful. He did a great job layering and coloring my thick long hair!

I bought a groupon and went for a hair cut, color and style. I told Javier what I want and how I want my hair. He was very unprofessional, ignored my requests and started coloring my hair with a color he already had mixed and just applied color wherever he wanted without even partitioning the hair. After that he just started using razor clipping to chop off my hair in no particular direction. My hair looked like bit off by a mouse. In the end I was pretty pissed off at the way my hair looked and I asked him please style it using a round brush. Typical Joevir just ignored that and simply dried my hair with a dryer and said bye-​bye to me. I left the salon with half wet hair. I would not recommend them to anybody and advice to use a little more money and go elsewhere.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Joevir. I purchased a GroupOn, called, and they got me in for an appointment within the week in the evening when I finished with work. I went in with only a few demands (not changing the length too much) and mostly asked for advice for what would look best on me. I didn’t even know whether I wanted highlights or full color. Joevir considered my bone structure/​height/​etc and said I should get highlights and a layered cut and I’m in love! Couldn’t be happier with my hair. Also Joevir offered so many pieces of (doable) advice to get the most out of my hair – and I’m a *really* low maintenance hair girl. 100% recommend.

I’ve been on a mission to find a new colorist since my last one retired and I have been purchasing Groupons to different salons in my search, which is how I found Joevir.
My time spent there was very relaxing; Joevir did the coloring and cut that I asked for, and did a wonderful job of it! I haven’t changed my cut or color in many years and am quick to pick up on mistakes; there was no spotting when he applied highlights and the contrast is beautiful. He gave me tips for taking care of my hair (I have to shampoo daily, my hair is color treated, and I straighten it daily as well) and taught me the differences between different treatments.
My whole experience was educational, full of friendly and genuine interactions, and I left feeling great about my hair!

Many pros to list:
First, this is a father-​daughter team. I love that this is a family run business and that they are so passionate about hair and do this passion together. They are both extremely kind and very hospitable.
I saw Serena, and she did an excellent job on my hair giving me full highlights and a cut that was both professional and young/​modern. The cut consisted of getting rid of dry ends on my mid-​back length thin/​straight hair and cutting it to give it more shape and volume. I have naturally medium-​brown hair, and she did highlights that blend well and will grow out naturally in a honey/​sandy blonde color. The cut and color turned out exactly what I was looking for.
Second, they are very flexible in time and pricing. Being a small business, they do not overcharge like other salons and can vary their prices instead of having set salon prices. After finishing, she wrote down what I would be charged for a return service, and it was much lower than other salons in the area.
Third, Serena really listened to exactly what I wanted done and understood what I asked. There was none of that worry that you can often have when getting your hair done, where you wonder if they knew what you want and if it’ll turn out right. In addition to being very precise and meticulous, she even offered suggestions for my personal hair care. Understanding that I have long thin hair that I want to keep healthy, she provided advice on keeping it from splitting and drying out.
They regularly offer Groupons for first time customers, and I recommend them!
