Lynsay Galbraith does a wonderful job. I have long, thicker hair and prefer layering. I must say there is something very special about the way she layers and gets this wonderful piecing effect. She transforms the flow and texture of my hair in a way that just makes me look and feel great. The haircut really suits my lifestyle and hair care(as any great stylist should). I do appreciate that she really takes the time to do a spectacular job, that even my ‘grow out’ looks amazing and gets compliments. If you have not been to Yuki’s yet, its not just a great location — Lynsay is a great stylist. Thank youuu!

I get my hair cut and colored by Yuki. I’ve never seen the guy Alex mentioned– Joevir. Yuki is awesome. He cuts my hair wet and then cuts it dry. It looks great for six or more weeks. People tell me what a great cut it is a month after it’s cut(he cuts so it looks good as it grows out). I have shoulder length straight hair. My 3 year old boys get their hair cut by Yuki also. He is so good with them. He is patient and gives them the best haircuts(we tried a few places before I took them to him). Yuki has a great sense of hair and what can look good. He listens to what I want and has never given any of us a bad(or neutral) haircut. If you can get an appointment(he’s a busy man). I highly recommend him.

The youngish older Asian man who you might meet at Yuki’s Diffusion is not Yuki, Apolo Ohno’s father, but Joevir, some other Asian guy who likes to get to know everything about you in the first few minutes: where you live, where you’re from, what you do, for whom etc. etc. Yuki’s Diffusion, if you’ve ever been in Belltown, has been in it’s same location since 1980, basically forever, with the same 70s décor of Plexiglas and track-lighting(only now the track-lighting fixtures are filled with environmentally friendly fluorescent lights), low modular red furniture, white cabinets with black trim etc. etc. The space is actually quite large, with a mezzanine above(waxing booths?) and a hair-washing/rinsing area in the back. I think Joevir gave me a pretty good haircut; he even recommended I part my hair the other way because apparently my face/head is somewhat asymmetrical and looks better with the part going left to right. And even though Yuki sells a wide variety of your usual salon products(Sebastian etc.) Joevir dipped a little wooden spoon in a tub of Dippity-Do to style my hair into a gelled sort of updo. Belltown dude style. Men’s cut: $ 40.
