Rumor has it that the owner of Tony’s Greenwood Auto runs this restaurant. I love Tony, that dude has helped me out with my car many a times. His wife is actually the cook, and she cooks for you like she’s cooking for her own family. The menu includes all of the basic meals of Korea(Bulgogi, Kalbi Ribs, Bibimbap). One thing that stood out to me was the seafood pancake is crispy, flavorful and light — honestly one of the best I’ve had. The tofu soup is rich and the tofu is silky, melt-in-your mouth. All of the vegetable side dishes were crispy and seasoned to perfection. This restaurant is very clean and the service is fast and friendly, I definitely enjoy conversing with the staff here. Note 11÷25÷15: This place is temporarily closed until further notice. Apparently the family is dealing with a family emergency. My thoughts and prayers go out to their family.

We love this place. We stopped by today and it was closed. I wasn’t able to read the whole sign(rain, 2 kids in the car, etc) but it said the restaurant will be closed until further notice due to family health issue. Hope everyone is ok and they open again soon!

It seems that Kalbi Grill Express is no longer in business. They are no longer on BITESQUAD, their webpages are down, and their phone doesn’t pick up. «I’m no Sherlock Holmes, but I think this is a BADSIGN» — Mycroft Holmes

This is a very cozy place. The bibimbap is very tasty, but not delivered as hot as it should have been, at least from my experience in other Korean restaurants. The pork soup and three side dishes were good. The prices are reasonable and the service is quick. There is a limited menu, but that is not a problem for a small place like this. The only real downside was the bleach odor that permeated the place when a nearby table was cleared off and cleaned with disinfectant. I stopped eating at that time.

I love Kalbi. I walk there all of the time and take friends and family. They have always been quick whether sitting in or taking out. I had never had Korean BBQ before but have tried at several other locations lately but I still always come back to Kalbi. The only thing is they are not open on Monday which happens to be the day I always have cravings for Kalbi.

I ordered lunch for my office of 17 people via BiteSquad 24 hours in advance. 45 minutes before the food was supposed to arrive, I received a message that our order was canceled because they didn’t have enough food to the fill the order. The fact that they cancelled the order with only 45 minutes to delivery time means that I wasn’t able to provide lunch for my office and folks were Hangry towards me, towards BiteSquad, and most especially towards KGE. I can’t say enough what terrible customer service this is and KGE will not be getting my business, and certainly not my company’s business, ever again.

Quick and ok food was no different than from all the teriyaki places, but the interior was nice and quiet

Horrible, horrible customer service. When you cannot hear someone on the phone — DONOTYELLATTHEM as if they are deaf or stupid. The condescending manner in which I was spoken to by the jerk-a** punk that answered the phone is unacceptable. You have lost a repeat customer.

This is a gem in our neighborhood! Food is excellent, clean/pleasant ambience, owner is so friendly. Love the regular and rotating sides. I feel so lucky to have this quality of food so close to my house.

Mmmmmm. Tasty, spicy, hot soondubu(tofu soup) on a cold winter winter night. I haven’t had Korean food in a while and this place definitely hit the spot. *SOONDUBU* –Delicious and spicy enough at the level I requested(compared to a few other places I have been too… where I was underwhelmed by the spiciness). –I ordered the beef soondubu, although in retrospect I should have gotten the seafood one since the beef didn’t taste like much. I know the poor cow that donated itself to my meal has already passed on, but a dead shrimp or octopus tentacle probably would have been more fun to chew on… just a personal opinion haha. I think one reason I didn’t get the seafood one this time was that I doesn’t include clams, which I usually prefer in my soondubu. –If you don’t like your soondubu too salty, this is a good place to get it. There was just the right balance between salty and spicy and I didn’t feel like I needed to chug down glassfuls of water throughout or after my meal. –Egg is an extra $ 1(This is always free in LA! Sorry, but as an LA native I can’t help but make these comparisons.) *HAEMULPAJEON(seafood pancake)* –Crispy, reminded me a lot of Chinese pancakes, and with a great dipping sauce. Lastly, the service was good, side dishes(i.e. kimchi, brussel sprouts, radish, etc.) were also complimentary, as always, although I wished there was some fried fish and potatoes(it’s probably just an L.A. thing). Overall, this was a good dining experience and I would visit again when I’m in the area.

While searching far and wide for a restaurant that served vegetarian sundubu jjigae(I had seen a lot of Youtubers declare it delicious, and I loved Korean food so I wanted to try it! Badly!). I randomly stumbled upon the Kalbi Grill Express. That day, my partner(a meat-eater, so hang on non-vegetarians! I’ll tell you about her experience too!) and I decided to trudge up to Greenwood to give it a try. We’d stumbled upon gold. Literally one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, and we have been back several times since then. First off, I would recommend having the pajeon for starters. The vegetable one was literally one of the best things I have tasted, and to this day one of the best things on the menu. One of the best things about it is the dipping sauce. It is incredible! I always get the vegetarian sundubu, because I find it hearty and deliciously spicy. I love to pour my rice into the soup and stir it in with the mushrooms and tofu. I am in love with the amount of free sides you get to choose from, they are all succulent and delicious! What makes it even less stressful, if you are new to Korean food, is that their website has a blog that tells you the current days sides, which ones are vegan, which ones are vegetarians, photos of what they look like, and what they are exactly! Their website actually has accurate photos of everything you can order at the restaurant, which was what initially drew me in, they actually look that good in real life as well. My partner always orders the bibimbap(which I also order sometimes), she has had all of the variations of their bibimbap, but her favourite is the spicy pork! I love the vegetable bibimbap with the egg! It is so good, I literally«can’t even!» The food is ALWAYS cooked fresh, and more importantly it tastes fresh! It is a clean, cool, modern restaurant, with comfortable sitting areas, and great lighting. You also can’t forget the helpful waitress! She is always great at answering questions you may have! Literally, if you are pondering trying out Kalbi Grill, please do! You won’t regret it! It is the best Korean food that I have ever had!

I tried this place for the first time. I was excited Greenwood finally had some Korean food. Like many mention the place is like a hybrid café/teriyaki joint. I had the Kalbi and my dad got the spicy pork, both were spot on. The side dishes came quick and were not extra, as well they were nicely done. Our service was friendly and quick and the place is clean and relaxing… very unlike typical Korean restaurants. To people not very familiar to Korean food I seriously suggest going to Koreatown in LA and try at least 5 – 6 places, especially ones that say ‘bbq’ or ‘grille’ in the name and notorious for rude service, they are where the magic happens. This place is not a well-known, notoriously rude Koreatown joint. It is a well-needed food variety for Phinney ridge, which it desperately needed! I wish this place the best of luck and am happy they are there.

I would give it a 3 – 3.5 It’s really clean Pretty unexpected good ambience Good quick service Refilled waters regularly decent korean food, but nothing special Not enough selection You have to pay for sides $ 1.50/side but unlimited Koreans are cooking

I was stuck in traffic yesterday and was not able to make to my class on time. I decided to stop here for dinner. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who was stuck in the traffic. The server here was also stuck in that mess and didn’t show up at work! One lady in the kitchen and one lady ran back and forth between kitchen and the front. Kudos to those two ladies! Good job on making it happen for us hungry people during that time! I didn’t expect what it’s like inside! It’s quite modern. I didn’t see paper menu. The menu is on TV above the cashier. You order and find a table to sit. It’s very much like a teriyaki place but with nicer interior. I used the bathroom. This place is modern inside out, even the bathroom! I am impressed! With all the good things to say about this place, I was not impressed with their food! Sorry! My Seafood Bibimpa cost me $ 10 before taxes and tips. The bowl looked big but what’s inside the bowl was little. Seafood was not fresh. In addition, I didn’t get those little dishes before my bibimpa. Most Korean restaurant would have those before you have your entrée. I feel it’s not worthy it to pay $ 10 plus for this meal. Parking is very limited. It’s better if you live close by within walking distance.

Their menu is simple and straight to the point. It has everything I would order when I crave Korean food: bibimbap, soft tofu soup, kalbi, bulgogi, seafood pancake and the perfect side dishes consisting of kimchi and even Brussels sprouts. The service was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant interior is clean and modern. Ignore the express part in their name and give it a try. Everything is so good here. Next time I’ll have to try the Soju to complete my meal with a satisfying, «Aaahhh.»

Very clean and nice looking place. Good spot for a quick meal. The bibimbap was okay. Tasted a little bland and I got a very small serving in big pretty bowl It was only ten dollars, so they might be trying for small servings and low prices. I’ll try them again with a different choice from their menu. Hope they add more of the amazing Korean flavor to their meals. I wish them good luck since it still looks fairly new :)

Yum! This cute Korean restaurant is delicious and not super expensive like a lot of the sit down Korean restaurants are in the area. I was able to eat a satisfying meal all under $ 15! Their menu is not that big. There are staple items like kalbi, bibimbap, bulgogi, soondubu, and kimchi chigae, but no items like japchae, kimchi pancake, etc. that you can find at a lot of other bigger Korean restaurants. That’s okay though because this place seems a bit more casual — you don’t get full table service, but rather you order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. Prices are fairly reasonable, with most dishes being under $ 13 or so. A regular portion of bulgogi is usually upwards of $ 20 at bigger restaurants so here you can get a decent single serving for $ 11. You can choose up to 3 sides, which is the first time I have ever seen this option at a Korean restaurant. Today, they had broccoli salad, bean sprouts, kimchi, fishcake, and radish. I am guessing the side dishes would change throughout the days but I’m not 100% sure. The sides were decent(although I wish the broccoli were cooked so it wasn’t raw and super crunchy)! The bulgogi dish I had was rather tasty, although surprisingly it was really moist, and I might have preferred it to be slightly more charred(barbeque style). I would come back again! This restaurant is located right off the 5 bus line.

I’ll have to admit I didn’t expect much from this place because of its location and because it has the word«Express» in the name. Usually when my husband & I try out Korean places, they’re further up 99! But don’t let location and name deceive you. We had an absolutely fantastic dinner. We shared an order of the kalbi and and dolsot bibimbap and they were both perfection. The dolsot bibimbap was topped with a cooked egg, and we’re used to having it with a raw one, but we let that slide assuming they’ve Americanized the dish a little. The rest of the bibimbap was solid and a nice complement to my 3 strips of medium rare richly marinated kalbi. We also devoured all the kimchi and pickled radish, the latter being my favorite of the various banchan offered. I’m from LA, which has a huge Korean population, so authentic Korean food was always not too far away. My husband & I also lived in Korea for a year so since I moved to Seattle a year ago, we have been searching hi and low for a place with Korean food that truly takes us back to our time back there and I think we’ve found it, at least in their kalbi and bibimbap. Next time I want to check their Galbi Tang because I’ve only found one place in the past 2.5 years that’s as good as in Korea — and that place is now 1,200 miles away from me. Kalbi Express is perfect for quickly satisfying the craving for Korean, but don’t expect a varied menu. The menu is very minimal and you only get 3 banchan with your entrée. If this place had jjajangmyun, kimbap and/or ramyun, I’ll probably move next door.
