These guys deal with so many fire departments it’s not surprising they have a hard time being punctual with orders, and getting items correct. But there’s always room for improvement. I’m still waiting for my order from several months ago. On the plus side they are accommodating if they have what they need and one of my guys need something last minute. Plus they have an incredible selection of uniform needs to give you a number of options.

Showed up 20 minutes before they closed, less than 24 hours from starting my new job. My boss had just let me know that he wanted me to provide my own white lab coat while seeing pts. I came home to find the only one I had was ancient, and had the name of my dental school embroidered on the sleeve(read: not a way to gain confidence with patients). I stumbled upon Kroesen’s on google search and showed up 10 minuted later. Like many places, they only stock men’s sizes in white lab coats, and didn’t have smaller than a 38. The gentleman helping me insisted on searching the back stock room to ensure they didn’t have anything smaller, even though I assured him the 38 was fine(I was simply elated to have a white lab coat in my possession). After scouring the store and realizing he didn’t have anything smaller in stock, he insisted his in house tailor take up the sleeves for me, free of charge, while I waited. I don’t have many uniform needs, but whenever I do(hello, Reno 911 halloween costumes!), I will definitely give Kroesen’s my repeat business.

Admittedly I didn’t have a lot of work for them to do. I enjoyed the free parking and came in with only a couple sew on name tapes for a CG uniform expecting to drop them off and return later. Except they asked if I wanted to wait and 5 minutes later they had them done for less than 4 dollars. Super friendly and the tapes were sewn on perfectly — no instructions needed. Definitely coming back here with the rest if my uniforms.

Being a former member of the Seattle PD Explorer Program, Krosens is like a big candy store. An excellent place to get any uniform related clothing item hemmed(the staff hemmed a pair of class A dress pants for me and had them ready for me by the time I was done shopping). But my favorite memory of this place, by far, involves the handcuffs: my mom was buying me a pair(legitimate need for Police Explorers!!!), and when she told the cashier it was my first pair, three cops who were shopping turned around and said, «AAAAAWW». Epic. Win.

When I was in high school I had wear the most ridiculous bow tie outfit when I worked at a movie theater. A few years later I wore a tie and when I hit the big time I got had to wear a suit! Well I hit the bottom and have to wear a monkey outfit all over again. The big difference is that when I was 16 my uniform was stained with butter, dirt and baby puke the thoughtful parents left on the floor for me to clean up after the movie«Babe». Now my uniform has to be perfect or somehow my universe falls apart. So when the government funded studies decided to «improve» my uniform for the FOURTH time in six years I had to find a place that could help me alter another set of clothes that somehow always make me look fat. I stopped by Kroesen’s and didn’t get a good first impression. The building looks old. I was about to turn the car around when I noticed they have PARKING! That’s a big deal in air polluting lifestyle so I pulled in. And I’m glad I did! The people inside were absolutely friendly! I brought in four sets up uniforms to get four patches each. I had an elaborate way of taping/clipping on where all the patches are supposed to go but they knew exactly where the needed to be. After they looked it over they gave me my receipt that stated $ 20 was due at pickup. I thought it was $ 20 per uniform which I have paid at other places but here it was $ 20 for the entire thing. They also sell all sorts of gear for the police and fire department. They have every type of flashlight, LE boots, gloves, etc… that you can even think of. When your life depends on your gear you know that you need the best available which is usually not what they issue you. My uniforms were perfectly done and for so much less than what I paid at other shops. Now I’m ready to start asking other Unilocalers if I look fat in this *picture removed due to numerous smart ass comments asking me if I’m pregnant
