What the heck?! I went here with my husband and a friend for lunch and the food was so bland! My veggie burrito had refried beans and rice, with a side of more rice and beans with topped with sour cream. My husband had a few pieces of beef in his beef burrito. Such a disappointment.

I used to get simple burritos here when I worked down in the market for the fastest, cheapest lunch option available(just over $ 6!). It’s not mind-blowing, but it’s super solid and everyone I’ve encountered there is very sweet and seems to care about what they’re doing. My sister and I grabbed something here yesterday, and feeling more adventurous, I picked up a wet burrito with an extra side of quac and it ran me just over $ 9. The portions were HUUUUGE! It came with rice and black beans on the side in the container, which was a super nice surprise. The ground beef was quality and the red sauce was tasty. Seriously though, the amount of food lasted three servings all day long — it was almost all I had all day! There was a bit of a line this time but the food came out quick.

Really fantastic little window on 1st, right next to the market. The tourists walk buy shoveling donuts in their mouths, but you know what’s up. A dude, a few microwaves and his smiling, red lipstick wearing wife churn out some amazingly filling portions of quality ingredients for under $ 8. They are sweet and chatty and the food can’t be beat for the price. I have gotten the enchilada combo twice now, once with asada, this time with pollo and red sauce. The beans, rice and salad«on the side» all get dumped together in a package of deliciousness. Don’t come here if you’re wearing a white shirt, it’s messy, in the best way. The meat is tender and flavorful. My only complaint? It’s hard to go back to work after stuffing yourself, you’d much rather take a nap.

For a fast food Mexican to go window this is pretty awesome. Cheap with large portions that will keep you full for the whole day. There is enough to share. Decent selection of menu items. Great customer service.

Great value, good service, decent food, slooowww delivery. I decided to stop here for a quick meal to bring back to work, but ended up waiting 20+ minutes. There was a group of four people in line before me and only two people working(one at the register and one cooking). I ordered the wet burrito special and got a generous portion of food — my to-go box was heavy and piping hot. The burrito was filled with carne asada and rice and nothing else. It came with sides of rice, beans and sour cream. This meal would be upward of $ 12 at most restaurants, and was just under $ 8 here. The carne asada was a little chewy but for the price, I wasn’t expecting gourmet. Pros: cheap, large portions Cons: slow service $ 5 minimum for credit cards.

Excellent food, friendly staff, very reasonable prices. I chose it because it had a long line with local-looking people in it. Super happy with my lunch(two soft tacos, one pork, one chicken).

Heard great things about this hole in the wall from multiple co-workers. It’s at a great location at Pike &1st Ave. Tourists everywhere during the summer, fun to people watch during the lunch hours. At times, it might look like there is a line, but it’s just clueless tourists standing around, looking for Pike Place Market. The window aka the hole of the wall is nothing fancy. There is a nice menu board next to the ordering window with lots of options and the prices are amazing. The food here is awesome! Packed with flavor, meat, rice, beans, and all the fixings. And the portions are crazy huge for the price you paid. Very tasty Mexican food! The gentleman and his wife are both super friendly. He was telling me how he loves Messi and Barcelona FC. So passionate, you can taste it. There is a nice seating area inside the building. This is a great to-go lunch spot, if you work near by. Cheers!

I ran into this place by accident and what an accident it was. My simple order was totally wrong and i didn’t get the drink as part of my combo. The food(especially chicken with red sauce) was totally bland and just nothing special. Next time, I’ll just keep walking past/

Oh my… just friggin’ get this!!! Carne Asada Torta!!! So delicious! The carne asada is so flavorful, torta is freshly put together with a nice toasty fresh bread, plenty of crema & guac, pico and lettuce… super huge and plenty filling! Even had a gentleman come up to me and asked me where I got that from. The staff is super cool, they like to chat with you about soccer, test your spanish speaking skills if any, takes a few extra minutes as they make everything to order. Its all good, I dont mind people watching while I wait. Great lunch spot at a great price all at Pike Place Market!!!

Amazing wet burritos that are cheap to boot. This isn’t like Chipotle where you can customize like crazy, and the non burrito options are sparse at best, but if you just want a solid burrito it’s hard to go wrong. The biggest downside is they can move pretty slow, so don’t expect lightning fast speeds, especially when there is a line.

This tiny take out window restaurant offers two veggie burrito options which boil down to your choice of beans with rice, cheese(which they will hold if you want to make it vegan), lettuce, tomato, cilantro and your choice of gauc or mole sauce. Pretty basic but their beans are lard free, the rice is made with veggie stock, and a full size burrito will only set you back $ 6! This place has just become my new go-to for a quick but healthy and hearty take out lunch.

La Vaca is one of the best burrito places around! I consider myself a guy who really enjoys a good burrito. Right now i am writing this review after just enjoying a delicious burrito from La Vaca. They have great service and great food. If you are around Pike Place and you are looking for a Burrito. This is the spot I tell ya!

So my barber/homeboy stopped here, grabbed a chicken burrito for himself and a chicken taco salad for me. Both were tasteless, but warm.

Very solid burrito joint right by the office. Cheap, tasty, pretty much what you’re looking for when it comes to quick Mexican food. Their menu is pretty large with your standard burritos, combination plates, and tacos. I ordered the two crispy taco and enchilada combo to go(there is no seating here) and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my taco shells weren’t very crisp by the time I got back to the office. Everything tasted good though. Recommend for your cheap Mexican food crave!

GREAT lunchtime spot, line or not. One of the only places I frequent for midday meals more than once a week, for the pricing(it’s fantastic, value-wise), for the food and for the ease. I’m a picky person on certain things, and they’re no-fuss about ordering a burrito sin crema ni queso, which makes me a happy guy. A great opportunity to talk a little bit of soccer while waiting for your food, people watch the tourists in Pike Place Market, and carry home an absolute gem of a meal. These burritos put Chipotle so far in the corner, they wouldn’t come out even if their name was«Baby» — for real.

For a hole-in-the-wall(literally) taco stand, this is about as good as it gets. I’ve sampled quite a few taco trucks, stands, restaurants … anything taco related, really, in my day. La Vaca is as authentic as it gets, and I feel like I’m back in Southern California again. The portions are more than satisfactory, especially for the price(yowza!). I mainly get the burritos here, but have enjoyed a few other items on the menu as well. If you’re a fan of horchata, make sure to give it a try. Not to mention, I’ve had such overwhelmingly friendly service and zero gripes when I customize my meals(I customize more obnoxiously than Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally sometimes), it’s completely deserving of 5 stars.

The closest thing to my kind of taco-truck Mexican that I’ve found so far. Seriously a hole in the wall, right next to the entrance to pike place market. I have to say, I often disregard reviews that say«huge servings» and«Cheap prices» but WOW — this place has BOTH! For $ 5 I got a GIANT wet burrito with rice, beans, sour cream, gaucamole… And all beans are vegetarian — no lard! Why not an extra star? I would’ve liked a place to sit, the rice was a little undercooked and I asked for no tomatos but got them anyways… However, I will be back again and again for this cheap, delicious food with huge portions — I now have lunch and dinner. With everything under $ 6.50, plentiful vegetarian options and quick service I am a happy camper. Also, they do accept credit cards for over $ 5.

This is a positive 3 stars, not a negative. Got it? What can I say? I love me some burritos! In fact, it’s one of my three favorite things that start with the letter«B», and La Vaca Burrito Express makes a good one. They’re large, full of good stuffing, and they’re all into organic and not using oil and basically making food that isn’t going to kill you. They were structurally sound so by the end I wasn’t eating a sloppy tortilla full of Mexican mush. I approve. They’re fast, they take cards, and the fellow behind the window was friendly. Did this burrito change my life? No, but really, not all food has to. I’d stop by and get one again, no doubt about it.
