Lake Forest Bar & Grill

I’ve literally passed this place more than 1,000 on my commute home over the last 5 years and finally had dinner here last night. Wondering why I haven’t been sooner. Probably the negative reviews had some sort of an impact. Although, not sure why so bad. We had a good experience. A few hiccups but no big deal.
First of all, they offer a great happy hour DAILY from 3 – 6 (yes, even on weekends!!!) I did not try any of the items, but they had a great selection. Macaroni and cheese, burgers, chicken skewers, etc. And all items are around the $ 6 range. Hell of a deal! All the draft beers are $ 1 off as well. They had about 7 craft beers on tap; not too many but definitely something for everyone!
As a bonus, on Sunday’s they offer a steak dinner for $ 5. $ 5!!! Insane! We got there around 5, so we were too early to act on that. But I was telling my husband we have to go back another Sunday and get in on that deal!
For dinner I got the Prime Rib Dip, and added the frizzled onions. The frizzled onions added a nice crunch! I asked for mashed potatoes because I didn’t want fries. The meal came with fries. That was the hiccup. So like I said, not a huge deal, I just dealt with it.
I’ll definitely be back for happy hour as well as Sunday night steaks!
