The Lamplighter is a wonderful bar, located just far enough off of Greenwood that it feels like a comfortable, delightful respite from the usual 85th street night life. This place is huge, it’s friendly, the food is simple but done well, and as so many have said, it feels like a locals bar without any judging eyes upon entry. The prices are right, the menu is big enough to mix it up, the booze is bountiful… I will make it a point to start rotating the Lamplighter in more often, especially once our city warms up and the deck becomes more inviting once again.

This bar is very clean and the food is awesome. There is a large outdoor area to enjoy your food and beverage on a warm day or night. A pool table, Golden Tee, and a pinball machine will keep you entertained while sipping on a Moscow Mule or a beer. New owner with a Chef background has already started to make excellent changes and additions to the food menu. The burger with onion is one of the best things I have put in my face. Lots of TVs, good music, nice people, reasonable prices, and parking make this place a must see.

I live and work in the neighborhood and finally tried Lamplighter after receiving terrible service at The Woodlands Pizza on Aurora. We sat at the bar and got fantastic service from the bartender. Good bar food(wings, fried pickles, and chicken tacos) and they had trivia night going on when we walked in(Wed nights 9pm). Another plus is that the bathroom was clean and they had Medieval Madness for pinball.

I live in the neighborhood and needed a place to watch a Seahawks game, didn’t see a whole lot of cars in the lot, so I decided to give this place a shot. I was with my girlfriend and we were pleased to see a Rainer pitcher special for Hawks games. We decided to order some food, and we were blown away by how good the Buffalo Chicken Salad was! I mean, pub food is pub food and even when it’s bad it’s still usually acceptable, but this was actually GOOD! Fast forward a few months, we are now regulars for their Wednesday night Geeks Who Drink Trivia and will keep coming back. We’ve had many other things off their menu and never felt let down by any of them. It’s a nice, clean, well kept establishment that manages to avoid being a bro-ish sports-bar vibe while also not being uppity and full of tech yuppies. Glad to have this in the neighborhood!

This place rocks. The food here is really good, and the chef, Lee, is fantastic. This is our neighborhood pub and the staff is always extremely friendly and kind to our pup. Taco Tuesday is a MUST, the pulled pork is insane and great on top of a salad as well. Great place to watch a game and just hang out!

Went into the Lamplighter tonight and was looking for some decent eats at good prices. Well I certainly wasn’t disappointed by the prices as I went in at happy hour! This is a very interesting place. Not very many people there, but lots of screens to watch the football game. Standard pub fare, but their pub burger was pretty solid and for Happy Hour, it was only $ 5(+$ 1 for fries/tots) — great deal! Service was good. My tater tots were cooked through, almost crispy(that’s a good thing). By the time I left, the place was starting to fill up a bit. The fact this place is called a «pub» threw me off a little when I noticed everyone was drinking PBR out of the can, but hey, everything else was on par!

I must say, every time I come here I am so glad I did. Great little neighborhood pub, seemingly populated by lots of regulars that are more than happy to welcome drop-ins like me. It’s happy, laid back, dog friendly, and people friendly too. They have standard pub fare, TVs tuned to sports(tonight was NFL and première league football), and some of the nicest bartenders around. Their menu seems to have gone through some updates, but the vittles are reliably tasty. And the PBR tall boys I got tonight arrived cold enough that they had little ice crystals in them – I dig that with cheap beer because it tastes better and it’s also going to still be cold as you’re getting to the end of the tall boy. The bar is quite large and open, and has all kinds of seating – booths, big and small tables, and the bar area – that can accommodate parties of any size, from big groups to solo cool-fests like me who bring their laptops to a bar to get work done. Plus they have pool, pinball, and I think one of those big video games where you play golf or shoot deer or some such thing… I didn’t look too carefully. I don’t know if this still happens, but I’ve been here on nights when about 10 or more musicians were gathered with fiddles and guitars and such, and they just did instrumental jams… not as paid performers, mind you, but as friends who make it a regular gathering and the rest of us were lucky enough to get to listen in. That kind of thing is, in my opinion, community lifeblood, and should be encouraged and savored wherever it exists. I hope they still do this here. Anyway, a big happy 5 stars for the Lamplighter!

This is an all around amazing spot to kick it! Great staff! Charles and Katie are two of the most amazing people in this world! The owner is so rad, and the food that Lee cooks will keep you coming back day after day! Love this place!

Woo hoo lamplighter! Great service from those bartenders, dog-friendly with a great big patio on which my dog can shed, full bar-food menu, draught beer selection on point, good spot to watch those poor struggling Mariners(and other sports), and right by my house in the hood, GREENhood. I’d go here again. And again.

So much better since they fired the two younger guys. They have some great bartenders now who are nice, attentive and on top of it! The music has gotten better as well, a lot of classic 70s and 80s punk rock and new wave.

Friend asked if we should go to that place next to Chuck’s for the Seahawks game. I said«the place where you never see anyone.» Now we know why. Had a few drinks which weren’t too bad. the wings were pretty solid however the tots were soggy(park pub tots are awesome). The real problems didn’t happen until the bill came. We were there at happy hour for the advertised pictures($ 5 Rainier and $ 10 for microbrews.) We were charged $ 9 Rainier and $ 22 for the other pictures of IPA. We asked the waitress about it. She sent the manager over who proceeded apologize for the miscommunication(they did not change the prices on the menu). He tried to give us a rainier pitcher for $ 5 for the trouble but we argued with him for the prices that were printed on the menu. Average food, horrible service

I recently moved a few blocks away from Lamplighter, and it is a great place to walk to for watching Seahawks games or just to grab a beer or three with friends. There are at least three TVs, a great patio with speakers, a pool table, a nice laid-back vibe, and good service. I had to withhold a star because the last time we were there we decided to try some food. We ordered the nachos with smoked pork, and it was some of grossest food we’d ever encountered. I had previously thought it was next to impossible to screw up nachos, but these were downright hurl-worthy. The chips were soggy and the pork was mushy, and WAY overly smokey. Perhaps the other meat options are better, but we won’t be spending our money to find out. I can seriously feel chunder creeping up my esophagus just thinking about those«nachos.» Bleh.

This bar has seen quite a few owners and name changes in recent years, but I knew it and enjoyed it first as Sweet Lou’s. For the most part, I still enjoy the space, now the Lamplighter. The difference between Sweet Lou’s and The Lamplighter is … not much. They still have roughly the same menu, the interior remains unchanged as far as I can tell, and the service is still somewhat spotty. One night you’ll have excellent service, the other night you won’t see your server hardly at all. I think most of this is simply based on volume of people. However, if they know trivia nights draw a larger crowd, they might want to bump up the number of staff to accommodate it. The improvements of the Lamplighter over Sweet Lou’s include the fact that they now serve french fries(!), they have weekly specials, and they’ve added trivia nights(Geeks who Drink). It’s a decent neighborhood, no-frills bar that will give you drinks at a reasonable price and decent bar fare(but I’d stay away from the nachos… not very good). Hopefully the Lamplighter can stay the Lamplighter for years to come!

$ 5.50 for a pint of local beer in a dive like this place? «Happy Hour» saves you a buck but still… this place is a hole. Where was the«HH» menu? Nothing was on the menu itself, the bar-back/server didn’t seem to care, and there was absolutely nothing about the place that would make me want to come back. Six people at the bar on a Saturday night… says something.

We have had such an incredible experience at Lamplighter. We just moved up to this area, and were SO welcomed by the staff/owners. The first time we came, they introduced themselves and made us feel so welcome. Then when we came back, they recognized us and that was even better! Evan and Meghan made us feel so at home. The food is GREAT! We have had the Pub Burger and Chicken Tenders(on happy hour– $ 5.00– What a great deal!!!) and the food was exceptional. We are so looking forward to making this our new«Home Bar». Plus, they allowed our mellow Golden Retriever, which is such a huge plus!

Great local bar. The owner is super friendly. Has an amazing patio. Good beer selection. Pool table. Reading other reviews the food sounds great. But all I did was drink when here so cant review the food or table service. But the bartender was nice and quick.

We love this place. It is our go-to Sunday afternoon lunch place. Dog friendly patio let’s you sit in the sunshine with your pooch while imbibing icy cold local brews. The service is always super friendly and you can’t go wrong with the house smoked bbq or cuban sandwiches.

I’ve lived a couple of blocks away for years and used to walk by and think, «Oh that must be a real dive.» Then I went on a Tuesday night with a buddy, just to watch the Mariners game. Wow! I was really impressed. There were a bunch of guys playing bluegrass, just an informal jam session. They were great. The salmon tacos blew me away and the bartender was very friendly and easy-going. Naked City is wonderful, but way too crowded for me these days, so the Lamplighter’s my new favorite neighborhood place to be.

Great place with some killer deals. Love trivia here on Wednesdays and they have quite a few TVs. Good local spot close to greenwood that I can have a nice meal. Also chucks is right across the street. Also cannot leave here without ordering Thai chili wings. Absolutely great.

Food is great, my husband and I love coming here. Always a good cider on tap for us kids who can’t drink beer. Womp womp. They have tots, so really, is there anything to complain about?
