Wow, somebody told me this place was good BBQ. This could have been the greasiest and soggiest meat I’ve had in BBQ. Overpriced to boot. I’m from Kansas city and know good BBQ. This place just made me sad to think about what people are missing out on if they think this is good BBQ. Greasey meat in a pan sitting over a sterno can? No quite right… Everything was far from quality. Beans from a can. Cornbread from a box. Would rather have a McRib from McD’s then go back to this place. Any recommendations for some ‘REAL’ local BBQ?

I got ribs/chicken special. both ribs and chicken were very dry… like they have been sitting there for a long time. I went during lunch time. my friends got pulled pork sandwich and said they liked it.

Longhorn Barbecue is a pretty decent place to get some BBQ fixing. I would normally probably give it a 3 stars for the food alone, but it gets an extra star out of me for providing delivery(especially in a super awesome«Urban Delivery Vehicle» to boot!). These are one of the rare food places I can get to deliver to me for lunch at work, so yay for them! As for the food… The pulled pork sandwich is pretty tasty, but then again I’ve had better. They have a pretty good lunch special from 10:30AM til 4PM. You can get a sandwich, 1 side and soda for $ 6.25OR an entrée, 1 side, cornbread and soda for $ 8.25; really you can’t beat those prices.

This is a great place to take your barbecue-loving friends — if you’re pissed at them. Greasy meat, sitting in a tub over a can of Sterno, is NOT barbecue. It’s crap. And that’s what you’re in for at Longhorn. I feel sorry for the reviewers who drown this garbage in sauce and then call it good. They’d likely die of happiness if the real McCoy passed their lips. Which, hey, wouldn’t be such a bad way to go. Oh, yeah, the creds: Grew up in a family of real barbecue zealots and to this day my brother is a licensed and certified barbecue contest judge. I know it when I see it; and I sure as hell know it when I don’t. I don’t see it at Longhorn.

I’m no expert on barbecue or ribs, I admit… but, I like it here. The style of «The Outlaw»(about $ 10) is to cook the meat so well-done that you can basically eat parts of the marrow of the bone. That means that the end piece is always overcooked like a piece of jerky… The spicy sauce is not spicy, but, if you add some corn bread and a side of potatoe salad to the mix, it’s a fair amount of food for the money. Too bad they’ve started to close earlier on Friday nights…

It was good. Too much brown sugar on their rib rub. They need a really spicy hot sauce. Pulled pork was great. Beans were good. They need work but for Seattle BBQ, its good. Just as good as «The Man».

BBQ ribs, beef brisket and sauce is good. Not as good as BBQ in Texas, but it will do in Seattle. Lines can be long when there is a baseball or football game…

This place is pretty good. We were recording a CD in Pioneer Square for a handful of days, and were subject to meals within walking distance. Quiznos initially was catching us because it was about 10 steps from studio. But, eventually we wandered a few blocks to eat here. I got a pork sandwich with sides of cornbread and potato salad. Sandwich was just about right with soft tender meat that drowned in the BBQ sauce well. I can not do hot sauce, so I always get mild, but it had a very nice tang to it that made the whole sandwich one tasty unit. The cornbread was a bit above average and good with butter and honey. The potato salad was quite good. If you can get two sides of this, that should be your go to option on combo plate. Good BBQ relative to other Seattle are places I have tried.

The meat is normally really tasty, and I’ve gotten it for free when I’ve had to wait for it to come out of the oven. The sauce is delicious, and if they don’t give you enough on your food, they have big containers of it at every table. And every table has rolls of paper towels and plastic tablecloths, so they’re definitely channeling the down-south ambiance… except it’s brighter and less cluttered than barbeque joints elsewhere in the country. It’s not the best barbeque I’ve ever had, but the cornbread more than makes up for it. I’m not kidding. GOFORTHECORNBREAD. They have this great buttermilk butter that spreads and melts easily and is absolutely perfect. Whenever I go I skip all the other sides and get double cornbread. And sometimes buy a side of cornbread to take with me. It’s that good.

There are many kinds of BBQ sauce. This is the sweet, dilute sort. Their ribs seemed a little old and dry, but their beef and pulled pork sandwiches were juicy and tasty.

It smells better than it tastes. The ribs were dry, dry, dry. The flavorless, watery sauce comes in a little cup(about ¼ cup) on the side. The potato salad is decent but this is a bbq joint, not a potato salad joint.

The meat was dry. I’m talking decomposed to the point of dust dry. I also got my food to go and they didn’t put any sauce in the bag to help with this ridiculous dry meat. The BBQ beans had congealed to the point where I assume they must have been sitting there for like 2 days. The potato salad was edible, but nothing special. I won’t be back.

I’m one of those«spicy/hot”-food phobics and normally stay away from barbecue joints with a 10-foot pole. With that said, however… I loved Longhorn Barbecue Outpost! I went with a group of coworkers and ordered the lunch sandwich special: a large turkey sandwich, side, and soda. While I was ready to bolt at the first sign of collar-loosening heat, the sauce on the sandwich was pitch-perfect, flavorful and delicious. I even agree with other posters that I wish there was more of it to go around! My side of barbecue beans was also good, especially with some ground-up crackers sprinkled on top. What impressed me the most, though, was the service. There’s not many places in downtown Seattle where the staff will give you table service on a $ 6 meal. At Longhorn, the staff was both polite and humorous, and my entire group left with smiles on our faces.

I was in this part of town around lunch time and thought I would stop in. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a potato salad side. Once I got past the hard outer crust of the pork, the inside was flavorful and tender. It’s a journey from there to the office, so maybe that affected the food a bit. I’ll have to give it another try sometime(maybe try the links). I was very disappointed with the sauce. They gave me plenty but the spicy is so not.

Their meat is awesome, some of the better BBQ in Seattle. I wish I could say the same for their sides. You just cant go wrong with the pulled pork, ribs, sausages etc… but when it comes time to pick a side you might as well pass because they are flavorless portions that must forcefully be choked down. I don’t even bother with the sides anymore, just give me a big olé pile of pulled pork and some bbq sauce and I am in heaven. Plus they have their own smoker there so after lunch everybody at work knows you had BBQ cuz you come back smelling like a smoke pit. YUM!

My cousin and her husband love this place, so we came for lunch during our long weekend vacation. On a Saturday at 12:30pm, there should be more than one employee behind the counter of any decent food establishment. We waited about 10 minutes before the guy got off the phone to help us.(He did apologize so that was a good sign.) I was also a bit skeptical that there were only about 3 – 4 other people in there. When I saw the food was sitting under heat lamps, I was worried again. They both ordered the pulled pork sandwiches and I ordered the«choose one meat and one side» plate. I got the pulled pork also(was trying to avoid all the carbs). It came with a very tasty piece of corn bread… not dry. Three orders and drinks came out to about $ 20. To my surprise, the pulled pork was really good. Even better when you pour the spicy sauce on it. Cole slaw wasn’t bad either. By the time we went upstairs to sit down, about 4 other groups of people came in and it looked like there was another person behind the counter too. Longhorns is not a fancy BBQ restaurant, but they don’t have those fancy prices either. For what it is, it’s worth 4 stars to me. Unfortunately, I have to take it down a star for the service.

Every time I pass this place, the aroma calls to me, even if I’m flat stuffed. I would become buliemic for this place, it smells That Good. So today, after my first workout in Ages, I went. Yum! I had heard from the chocolate shop next door that the small sandwich is more than enough, but alas, I shouldn’t have listened. I would have kept eating my pulled pork sandwich long past the point of Full, if only I had ordered the Large! The best part about this place is that although the BBQ has Just The Right Amount of sauce already, they give you extra on the side! I’ll be doing something fun for lunch with that tomorrow!

They might have better years ago, who knows? All I know is that nowadays the ribs are DRY and way too salty. Cutting them into little pieces is a HUGE no-no and that’s exactly what you did. Will never get them again. The pulled pork is pretty decent. I recommend trying it on a platter without bread. The sauce is light and tangy. Memphis style I believe. Staff is very friendly. Too bad the food doesn’t live up to the service. One big plus is the excellent honey-butter that goes on the cornbread. You got an extra star for that alone.

«And if you have any vegetarian friends, we have a clinic on wednesdays for that»… Yeah, I liked Longhorn very much. The staff is funny and VERY friendly and attentive and all about bbq. They’re very happy to be there and real enthusiastic about meat. Could I be related to these people? I hope so. You don’t have to work very hard to sell me on a 6.95 pulled pork sandwhich that comes with a side and soda. Good deal! What I liked about the bbq here was that it was tasty but… dare I say… NOT a gut-bomb?! Nawh! It’s true. Maybe it’s my iron stomach — but I thought it was flavorful but not greasy. I’m no natvie texan, but I know what I like.

A pulled pork barbecue sandwich delivered to my desk at work? 4 stars! So much meat I had to eat some with a fork before I could put the sandwich back together and be able to take a human sized bite? 4 stars! Pork as good as I had it in the South — it’s called a Boston Butt people, I don’t know why grocery stores shy away from that name here in Yankee country(and if it’s not the South it’s Yankee country, even if it’s Alaska, trust me, I tried to argue that one to no avail). 4 stars! Barbecue sauce on the side? 4 stars! Beans? eh, ok. Potato Salad? eh, ok. SUPER nice delivery guy who assured us he put our orders together personally? 5 stars. I’ve never seen the restaurant. Have no idea where it is or what it’s like. That’s why every decent workplace has a file in a drawer of take-out/delivery menus. Will order again in a heartbeat. Though I’m not sure how long my heart will keep beating if I order too often.
