My first cut here was a walk-in appointment with Shain. I thought I’d try it out since I saw it every single day from my bus stop, and what is wrong with going to a salon a block from my apartment? Nothing! Shain did an awesome job, and I loved being able to walk in and get a great cut. Then he got more busy :) and I had to make appointments — no big deal. The best thing is that Shain listened to what I wanted and made it happen: sassy & fun, but as wash & go as possible. Then, there was the almost-mom haircut. It wasn’t his fault though! My days wearing a bob were over — I had to take the plunge. It was time to try the short hairstyles I’d always been afraid of. I went back the next week and Shain brought me and my hair to a whole new level with an awesome, fun short ‘do and I didn’t look back!

I’m definitely glad for Lucky 7. I’ve lived very close for about 4 years now, but have never gone in(Now, I’m not really sure why). I went in and saw Alexis, and I was in and out in about 25 minutes. I didn’t realize that they didn’t do the shampoo thing but I’m okay with that. She did exactly what I asked and it looked really good. It’s hard to find a stylist/barber who actually listens and then applies it to get what you want. I’m also very happy about the price. Why pay 60+ bucks for something you hate(see other reviews by me) when you can pay 25 bucks for something you love? I don’t see the downside here. I’ll be stopping by again, for sure.

Great hair cut and laid back environment. Was looking for a quick haircut right before the holidays, and got an appointment an hour after I called. It was nice to have someone that knew how to cut curly hair; we all know it is difficult to find a good haircut! It is fun and funky!

Best haircut place ever — Shain gave me the best haircut of my life, and I have been a regular since. I’ve had a couple other stylists do my hair, and every time I am happy. Excellentt.

This place is in my neighborhood, so always a good thing since I seem to always want a haircut at the last minute and never plan ahead for anything. Consider it a life-long failing, but don’t tell my boss. This place is easy going and not overly busy. I’ve only ever had my hair cut from this dude named Casey, but he cuts my hair good and the price isn’t outrageous. It’s more than hairmaster’s, but if you want a step up from a flowbee, this coudl be your place.

With my hairstyle, I need to get a haircut every 4 weeks. And that can get really expensive if you don’t know where to go. When I was at my husband’s work just hanging out. There was a customer that came in with the most awesome cut and color. I asked her where she got her hair done and she said Lucky 7. That same day, my husband drove me over there and got a hair«did» from Alexis. Who’s super sweet! What I loved about her is that she tells you what cut matches your face and also no appointments! It’s $ 25 for a cut! Wahooo! Just in my budget and the cut is oh so Aveda. hehehe! They did get their semi-aveda training so you’d know it’s pretty good. She cut my hair way better than the salon that I used to frequent. I am now a regular. :D

I was in desperate need of a haircut, short on cash, and there was narry a car in sight. Cue: Lucky 7 Barber shop on lower Queen Anne, my stomping ground. After going to overpriced salons for god knows how long, the low price was SO refreshing. 25 buckaroonies for one of the best haircuts I’ve gotten. Ever. I had been going to a salon by my work for about a year, had about 4 haircuts there, and the last time felt my requests were not met. And for a large price at that. I came into Lucky 7, which was so rockin’ly decorated and simple, and a darker version of myself greeted my from behind the counter. «Do I need an appointment?» I asked. «No, no, we can start right now!» SWEET. Plop down in the chair, realize how friggin HOT it was in there, and tell her what I’d like, «Long in the front, short in the back, angling down.» Perfect. She said that’s how she wanted her hair, but it wasn’t long enough in the front to do it. No washing/shampooing, just back-to-the-basics squirting water on the hair. I loved that, because really, I just washed my hair this morning, another shampoo probably isn’t going to do much for me, and I hate it when the ladies wash your hair and pitch the product so you’ll buy it and they’ll get commission. Which, when you’re sitting in their chair and they have the scissors, is a pretty vulnerable position to just say«no.» Probably not going to get a great haircut, knowwhatimean? None of that here. Totally low key, laid back, barbershop style haircuts.(Plus, don’t tell anyone, but I HATE how I look when my hair is soaking wet, combed back and pinned up. It’s so unsettling. I look better than that when I wake up in the morning!) Moving on, she nailed my haircut on the head(no pun intended), and even asked me if I’d like to change little parts of it that I actually did want changed, with no hassle, but instead agreed with me. I have gotten so tired of paying $ 60-$ 70 for a haircut that turns out to be uneven, or isn’t exactly what I asked for, or turns out the hairstylist forgot to cut a huge chunk of hair that now sticks out like alfalfa. When only paying $ 25, all of that can happen, and I’m not so upset, but NONE of it happened! I am so pleased. Not for the person who can’t relax, have a good time, and takes their hair too seriously. Seems to me, these girls/guys specialize in the choppy, slightly bedheady look that I quite like. A few tips: –Wear minimal clothes in the summer, it is friggin HOT in there. But Alexis(my hairstylist chicky) said they might get an AC soon. –No appointment necessary. –They do men, women, and color. They will wash your hair, but it’s like $ 5 extra. –You should take a shower after, because you’ll have hair on you. It’s a sad fact, but one I’m willing to accept. –Watch out for annoying drunk people from the Mecca when you leave. But, that’s kind of true anywhere you go by that place. –They take cash, Visa and Mastercard. –Soccer moms and the like: skip this place. I loved it!

Okay, so it was completely stupid on my part for making an appointment here without doing any research, but it wasn’t until I stood in front of store that I realized that it wasn’t the typical salon that I’m used to. Completely irrelevant, I know. So let’s talk about the pros. Cheapest haircut I’ve gotten in the past decade. The girl, whose name I’ve forgotten, was very nice, even though my hair turned out to be nothing like what I asked for. But that’s irrelevant also because she was quiting anyways, and that was 2 years ago, and chances are you won’t find her there now. There isn’t a whole lot of cons if you did your research and find out that this isn’t a salon, and they don’t shampoo your hair and such blah blah blah. Seriously, I must’ve bump my head at some point in my past. Anyhow, there is just one thing… there was a little cat, and then there was a little dog. The dog was chasing the cat the whole entire time around the place, which can be cute, if you were not sitting in a chair that spins while trying to get your hair cut. So the procedure went somewhat well except the bumping I got from the dog-cat chase, and the lack of concern on the hairdresser’s part. So my chair just kept spinning, and spinning, an inch at a time, till I was no longer facing the mirror, all the while that pair of scissors and my hair never lost contact. That was once a problem, but the haircut was about two years ago, and my hair has grown since then and I know longer carry any grudge towards the place. I’m giving it a 3 instead of a one, because it just wouldn’t be fair for me to compare a yuppie salon to this place. This place isn’t for me, but I know it is for others. And to be honest, I’m only reviewing it because no one has, and I love having that«first to review» batch next to my reviews! Don’t hate!
