Great little place. Very local but right on Pike a block before the public market. Staff is very nice. Food was good and pretty much cooked to order.

Waitress not very attentive. Went there to have dinner with my husband, they didn’t have everything on the menu, so we had limited options. Food was good, coffee, was not fresh.

Found this place on Unilocal and noticed that they served Filipino food. So we decided to check it out. They only had 3 Filipino dishes, but we decided to stay. We ordered Loco Moco and Porksilog– pork chops, eggs, lots of garlic fried rice. The servers were sweet and friendly. Our waitress even gave us some lumpia. The food was good and had lots of flavor. They even had a full bar.

Super delish! Had the Eggroll Sillog and it was so good. The garlic rice is amazing. Fast service and the owner was super sweet. Next time I travel to Seattle this is a most for local breakfast.

My favorite breakfast/brunch/dinner spot in Seattle. Owned by a man named«Tito Greg» or «Uncle Greg» — he’s the sweetest man I know. The food was absolutely delicious and my favorite dishes are porksilog and longsilog! If you’re ever in the area, please stop by! You won’t regret it.

Unfortunately my experience at Ludi’s falls into that of a tourist trap. You know the situation where you’re near a very touristy attraction(e.g. Pike Place Market) and you turn to Unilocal for a little help on getting a bite to eat nearby and you find a four-star rated restaurant and decide to go there only to learn that it is overrated, primarily by people visiting from out of state. As Ashton Kutcher would say, we got punk’d. Ludi’s falls into the greasy spoon category. The space is small and the tables are even smaller but once seated, it was OK. I was more comfortable with my back pressed against the wall and the table pressed against my stomach than I was on a recent Delta flight from MSP to SEA. Getting in and out of the table to use the public restroom(their restrooms are not reserved for customers only) was tricky. My table of four all ordered different dishes. All of us concluded that the food was average at best. My dish was nothing special — two over easy eggs, two slices of Franz wheat bread and hashbrowns. I like the hashbrowns but I always like hashbrowns fried in gallons of oil. The best thing about Ludi’s was the people watching out the window toward 2nd Ave. WOW.

Don’t let this hole in the wall with some scruffy regulars scare you away! It has great food and they are all super friendly! Garlic rice is the bomb! I’ll be back! The plate size pancakes are delish too!

I’m so glad my friends found this place and asked me to meet them here because I would’ve never known about this corner secret. This is a great place by Pike Place Market for breakfast, especially if you’re craving good ol’ traditional Filipino breakfast — which is basically protein, garlic rice and runny eggs! Just like how my mom makes it, I had the Pork Chop Silog, which was so good and reminiscent of mom’s cooking. The two pork chops were so flavorful and tender from the garlic and soy sauce. The garlic rice is strong with garlic flavor, which is how I like it, and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly, allowing for that runny yolk to slather the garlic rice. YUM! They also have a full bar here, so you can get your alcohol fix, which is always a good thing. The place is small, so if you come with a group, seating may be limited. But this place is well-worth a visit, as the food comes out fast and the staff is really nice. Awesome place!

First time eating fillipino breakfast but man… so happy to have popped that cherry! The lady at the counter(possibly owner) is as cute as can be! I love everything about this place from the food to the familiar comfortable feel… even the staff make you feel all warm inside. I got the sausage with garlic rice and I enjoyed the soy sauce pepper vinegar concoction that they serve with it. If I am ever in Seattle again, I’m coming straight to Ludi’s for breakfast!

Great Sunday afternoon lunch. If you are looking for a good place to grab breakfast in Seattle, this is it. This place is basically a diner. They offer breakfast all day. Service was fast and efficient. Great place to go if you’re looking for a more affordable option in downtown Seattle. It is in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood, and the restaurant itself seemed a little seedy. But I loved it, because the food was good, the service was fast, and it had a unique atmosphere. Obviously, this place is for the more adventurous travelers, but I really enjoyed it. Good variety on the menu. Lots of food options at this diner: breakfast, steak, burgers, and sandwiches. Huge portions. I ordered the PORKSILOG(pork chops, fried egg & garlic rice). The fried egg had the yolk that would flow out when you pierced it — perfect. I love spreading that over my rice. While my mother inlaw ordered the LONGSILOG(sweet sausage, fried egg & garlic rice). Coffee is average but frequently refilled. As for the girls on the«Kids Plate» menu(7 years old and under only): Chicken Strips & Fries. The place looks a little run down and watching people drink beer and liquor. The food and the service were both excellent. They even have a bar in there. It’s right on the corner of 2nd and pike. Hard to describe but it has a funky vibe. Service was great and the atmosphere suited us very nicely.

Breakfast of Supermen, served all day! The is the place to be… Don’t expect anything fancy. It’s an old, landmark, corner diner with a mini lounge at the mouth of Pike Market Place… A proud Filipino owned restaurant, 2 blocks from the University train station and 1 block from Pike’s Market Place. Yup, I was at the airport Hilton and took the train almost end –to-end! It’s a proud, «traditional mealstop» whenever we visit the Emerald City… so, expect great service and some TagLish accent. I always order the longsilog plate(2 eggs over-medium with 3 Filipino sausages on top of a generous serving of garlic rice), pico de gallo Pinoy style, endless hot & fresh coffee, and the complimentary trio of Filipino sauces(fish sauce, vinegar/garlic/onions/peppers sauce, a sweet & spicy banana sauce! — «UFC»? Yes, Filipinos make sauces out of them≠o), and some iced tubig(water) to help wash it all down & cleanse the palate… The sausages are never too greasy and tastes homemade… the«pico de gallo» too! I should have asked for sliced tomatoes to be truly«orig.» Tapsilog and other silog combos(fish? bang & tin) in the menu would be nice! Now, onward to get some Penn Cove mussels at Jack’s for a most Special Thanksgiving Dinner next week with the family!

I’ve lived in the downtown area the past 10 years and I can’t believe I’ve never been to Ludi’s. It’s a Filipino restaurant in the downtown area and I guess it’s been here forever. Perhaps I try to avoid this specific area(2nd-3rd-4th/Pike-Pine) since it’s a little sketch. Now, let’s talk about food– food quality is good. It’s what you’d expect from a Filipino restaurant and a diner. I’m Filipino so coming in today when I was extremely hungry– it was the perfect situation. I had the longsilog and my husband had the hotlinks. My longanisa(Filipino sausage) was good with the garlic rice and having egg on top of it. Growing up and cooking these foods on a normal basis, I will tell you that it was probably not the best longanisa or best garlic rice and basically what I’m saying is that I can make so much better. However, I’m giving them four stars because the food is good for what it is. The place was clean and we were warmly greeted by «manong» [older gentleman/we normally refer to them as uncle] and seated us. He asked if we wanted the table in the restaurant area or the booth in the bar area. I love comfortable seats so I said booth. I will warn you that in the bar area itself is where the«regulars» probably hangout and it was pretty loud there. If you’re not used to the Seattle«ghetto» folks, I don’t recommend you sitting in the bar area. Sit in the main dining room and yes, it is smaller but it feels cozy. I didn’t feel threatened at all sitting in the bar area though so it all depends on your comfort level and much exposure you’ve had with different backgrounds. The next time I’m craving some of my homeland foods again when I“m out and about, I’ll definitely be coming back here.

The restaurant itself is a little sketchy, but the staff is warm and friendly, the service is fast, and the food is delicious! I usually get the Russian Omelette or the Lumpia and rice breakfast! The Russian Omelette is super filling and addictive, I almost never finish it. The Lumpia is delicious with yummy garlic rice and and pillowy scrambled eggs. I also really dig that it is open so early, there’s not a lot of spots open at 6 am downtown. I love it!!!

Well, this is not the nicest, fanciest, or even cleanest place around, but the food was hot, fresh, and tasty, so I can’t complain too much. And aside from the $ 2.99CAN of Coke, everything was pretty inexpensive, so it was a decent value. Conveniently located near Pike’s Place, Ludi’s is an old-school diner in every sense of the word. Seat yourself at the bar or at one of the tables. It wasn’t too busy at 9a on a game day Sunday, so service was pretty quick. My French toast was nothing fancy– just plain white bread dipped in batter, but it was tasty enough. My eggs were good, and the portions hearty. Ludi’s is a good place to fuel up for the day without breaking the bank. If they cleaned up the place, prices would probably be higher, so set your expectations low, and enjoy the value.

breakfast food: porksilog. one thing: salty. ive been to other filipino spots before, this is hands down the saltiest. maybe the cooks didnt realize it. the rice itself was fine, not that garlicky. eggs were great. the chops though… it was bearable, but not preferred. ***2/5 service: it gets busy, but it wasnt hard to find our server. they all seemed nice and know some of the customers. the location isnt the best, but dont be afraid of the random people hanging by the front door. theyre harmless. ***3/5 value: the price is right, but the food is a miss. i still cant believe how salty everything was. ***3/5

Really cool little joint. A bit messy and disheveled inside, but that is half the charm. Local characters hanging out inside — look like they have been drinking there all night(and all morning). One guy was passing out at the corner, only to wake himself to go to the bar for a refill! Service is a bit crusty, but it fit the place perfectly, and I really enjoyed the feel. The food was great — really enjoyed the breakfast. Was my first experience with a Filipino breakfast. So the place is gritty, full of character and a bit edgy, but if I was a Seattle local, this would be on my regular rotation!

Whoever came up with the modern usage of the word«sketchy» probably did so over breakfast at Ludi’s. This place is sketch. But not so bad that you shouldn’t stop in here some time for classic American/Filipino breakfast, lunch or dinner. And maybe a stiff drink to go with it? The joint has that classic diner/coffee-shop look to it, and is a little worse for the wear. The staff is surprisingly friendly for how much BS they likely endure from opening to closing on a daily basis. I say this because many of the folks who to inhabit this joint seem to be homeless and/or rough around the edges. The rules(minimum purchase $ 3) get to the notion that a lot of down-on-their-luck folks use this as a hangout. My Friday morning breakfast adventure placed me toward the back of the restaurant, which is where the bar is, and where most of the folks just stopping in to get warm and drink coffee or whatever is the strongest, cheapest form of alcohol they can get, go. I was able to get what I wanted(some eggs and meat) and while lots of locals acknowledged me, nobody bugged me, which I was happy about. One guy did come through trying to sell purses out of an athletic bag. Not sure what the success factor of that business plan is(or who out there in Seattle is currently missing a purse) but that exemplifies the style of patron redolent in this joint. The menu is an interesting mix of Filipino and classic American greasy spoon. And, you know, sometimes that’s what you want. One thing I would probably never do here is use the restroom. Unless I only had to #1. Just sayin’. Ludi’s offers a journey out of the bougey new-wave of Seattle and in to a legitimate and otherworldly social strata. And it will fill your belly. My food was A-OK. My server was super friendly(older gentleman with gray hair and beard). I’d probably be a hardened, jaded jerk if I had to play rule-enforcer all day. Good on him for being a cool cat.

If you want a monstrous serving of real Filipino-style breakfast but Nanay ain’t cooking today, Ludi’s will feed you. A lot of people rave about their LongSiLog, but I think their PorkSiLog is king. The portion will make you think about doing cardio for an hour everyday for a week: two big chops, two eggs your style, and A TON of awesomely buttery, garlicky fried rice. Pour some of that spicy vinegar all over your plate for an extra dimension of amazing. I’m not kidding. I’ve always ordered to go over the phone, and they get it ready in 10 minutes. I take my food back to my office, which is only a couple of blocks away. You’re not really missing out if you never get to dine in the restaurant. It’s pretty divey. There’s not much to it. The men and women running it are nice and always get it right, except for that one time they overcooked my eggs, which were supposed to be over easy.

If you’re looking for a cheap and quick breakfast in downtown Seattle, then this is your place. As previous reviewers have stated, the area in front of the restaurant has a good amount of homeless people hanging on the corner, but it seems that most keep to themselves. Definitely interesting to see what happens on the street while you’re eating if you get a spot by the window. The inside looks like a run down coffee shop… cause that’s exactly what it is. When you walk in, you have the choice of the counter or one of the small tables scattered inside. They all have menus and some mismatched silverware. It’s all part of its charm. Our server was an older man who I assume was the owner. He quickly took our drink order and as soon as he left, his wife took over to take food requests. Within 10-minutes, we were already eating breakfast. It was like a well oiled machine. For eats I went with the ham and cheese omelette since it seemed like one of the easier menu items. It came with hash browns and covered in American cheese. Was it the best one I’ve ever had? No, but it hit the spot on a Friday morning when I didn’t feel like waiting for some of the Pike eateries to open for the day. For two meals, coffee and tip, it came to about $ 20. Can’t beat that. They’re apparently known for their Filipino food and burgers as that was what a lot of the locals were ordering at surrounding tables. If I ever end up back here, maybe I’ll try it.
