DONOTUSELUXE They will rip you off, hurt your car, make you late for work, and accept NO responsibility. They will lie about rates and raise them. They are a nightmare of EPIC proportions Beware Stay away

The Seattle Waterfront is promoting free valet parking using the LUXE app. We tried it last Saturday — total and complete cluster, we waited for over 40 minutes and still no valet. We called the company and they said we were in line and could expect a driver in the next 10 minutes. At that point we cancelled the reservation and looked for parking ourselves. Glad we tried it, but let me spare you the frustration — skip LUXE.

I’ve been using Luxe for a while now. I’ve been pretty happy with the service, although it’s still new and there are some kinks to work out. I was even one of the first 100 people to park with them in Boston(THAT is another story. And one that maybe doesn’t have a low enough Unilocal rating for me to select…) I was actually planning on using Luxe to park today, and noticed that their max had changed from $ 15/day to $ 16. While not a significant price increase, I was put off by the fact that this price change wasn’t communicated to me. Is it always $ 16 now? What happened? If I can’t depend on consistent pricing, I’m going to be much less likely to use the service. So instead, I took the bus and saved some money. The valets have always been really friendly and cool. I’ve definitely had a few who circle the block in a confused fashion. You can see them drive by, look around, not understand where you are, and circle the block to try again. Maybe if the app had my photo(and not just a picture of what kind of car I drive) that experience would be easier? I’ve always had a MUCH easier time with drop-offs than pick-ups. Typically if I see that someone is returning my car in the next 5 minutes or so, I’ll head outside to flag them down. I’ve had the app say«5 minutes» for longer than a minute, though. I don’t know what technology is being used behind the scenes, but I know I’ve heard at least one valet tell me that they were using Waze and it wasn’t correctly reflecting some closed streets. I usually tell the app where I’m going as soon as I leave my place, a good 15 – 20 minutes before I arrive. That gives them plenty of time to find a valet to meet me, and 95% of the time someone is waiting right where I’ve specified. A few times I’ve had to wait — once for quite a while. But overall I’ve had a positive experience parking with Luxe in Seattle.

Terrific service that is about the same price as street parking — and less than many garages — where they meet you and park your car for you. Then they return your car when you text them or at some time/place arranged ahead of time. The flexibility is great. Have used them twice very successfully.
