Never going back to this place!
I’ve been here 3 times thinking it would be different each time, but NOPE. I should’ve stopped the 1^st time. They made me bleed and I had cuts on my fingers from the lady not being careful! Costumer service was not so great.

You get what you pay for. I accidentally went here mistaking it for another salon in the mall. At first I was surprised a «classic» pedi was only $ 20.00. Now I know why… they rushed through the whole process and nothing about it was relaxing. When I pointed out a little «glob» she blamed me saying it was the way I was sitting, really?

If you want a 15-​MINUTE pedicure, by all means, visit this place. I guess that’s what you get for $ 20, but some lotion and polish is something I can do myself for free.
Sloppy and rude service on both of my visits here. I will not be returning.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go here after reading all the bad reviews, but it truly wasn’t as bad as all that! I got help right when I walked in, and as soon as I sat down, someone was there to work on my nails. The man who did them was very gentle and polite. It certainly wasn’t the best fill I’ve ever gotten, but it also isn’t the worst.
The price is about the same as the salon to which I usually go. He did ask me to pay before he was finished, but I’ve found that to be standard when polish is involved. He also clearly preferred that I pay with cash, but when I got out my debit card, he said, «Card, okay!» and didn’t say anything about a tip. When I tipped him in cash he was genuinely thankful.
I would absolutely go back to Magic Nails.

Came in for a manicure for my little sister and shellac for myself. By the time my little sister’s manicure was done, they were still working on getting my old shellac off. They had me switch manicurists half-​way through b/​c someone else (who I guess was more important than I was) needed to be with the the woman I was with. At this point, I switched my shellac manicure to a regular one b/​c I didn’t want my little sister waiting for me for a half-​hour. My new manicurist blazed through the manicure. No massage, just a little bit of lotion. The worst part is that they never got all of my previous shellac off! My nails are not smooth at all and they’re, quite frankly, hard to look at. :(It’s almost like they’ve never dealt with getting shellac off before… kind of glad I didn’t get shellac put back on — who knows how that would have gone!
Very disappointed. Oh, and they were CLEARLY irritated that I wasn’t paying with cash. Maybe that’s why it was such a bad experience…

Came here with my friend. Got a basic Mani/​Pedi. The pedicure was nice and relaxing — and the lady did a nice job. As for the manicure, I wouldn’t get it done here again. The lady (a different one from my toes) did a rush job. I’m horrible at doing my own nails but I think I could have done better. The end result was messy and chipped after one day. It’s been over a week and I’ve already taken off the paint on my nails but my toes still look good!

I have gone here for 3 years and it was quite a surprise to go in yesterday and see a remodel. The new massage chairs are really nice, and I needed the shiatsu setting after helping my daughter move. For a little pampering, you have two women working at once to get your mani/​pedi done in no time. Love the prices ($ 42 for deluxe mani/​pedi with paraffin from individual plastic bags), which feels more sanitary than a dip basin. I always leave here with a smile on my face and more relaxed than I entered.

Solidly decent. I was really nervous after reading almost universal poor reviews, but I’m confident enough to venture back in. I had a mani only, but my gf had a gel manicure. Staff was pleasant, although I didn’t really like them making me pay first. I made sure to tip in cash although I paid with a card, which didn’t even cause an eyebrow to raise.
I’m satisfied with my classic manicure, which is priced at $ 14 (I didn’t have polish on and it was just a solid color). My friend’s gel manicure looked awesome ($ 30) and I was sorry I didn’t opt for one as well. I’ll come back for a pedicure eventually.

I used to come here in highschool and started coming back recently because it is near my work… what a mistake! it is convenient but they really are not gentle and a lady spilled water all over my electronics… ugh…

Staff is rushed and very rude. The price is cheap however they change prices due to the amount orcas you have less or more. The owner isokay but I like to be taken care of not scolded and rushed throught. I will go to polish nail spa again and always.

I have been here a couple of times, and they are really wonderful. Great service, Good price, and most importantly the staff here is amazing. Yes, they DO speak a different language… GET OVER IT. you are there to get your nails done not to understand personal conversations, whats most important is they offer quality service, and affordable pricing… wouldn’t go anywhere else :)

Unprofessional and they may cause you physical pain.
They have hurt me while doing acrylics. They have cut me. They have rude a habit of talking «around you» in a language other than English. They will actually make you feel uncomfortable if you want to pay in any other way than cash.
There is one man, Kenny who is friendly and did a great job with no pain, blood, etc. The rest I would not recommend. Unfortunately, Kenny is almost never there.
Drive a couple of miles and go to Diva Nails on Lake City Way instead.

this place really is just convenient… nothing else about it should be a reason for you to go here
went on sunday with a friend for pedis and they were nice and made small talk with me in chinese, but that kinda left my friend who didn’t speak just chillin there.
awkward #1: the lady doing my pedi had a dress on that was too short… it was a constant battle between her sitting comfortably down on the short stool or flashing me (augh)
awkward #2: i saw the sign that they prefer cash (i can understand place like that) but when i paid with a card they asked for cash which i said i had none on me (meh) but when i got the receipt, added, tip, signed, and gave it back to her, she asked again if i could at least pay the tip in cash (uh. i’m not flash, i didn’t just run to an atm and get cash out while you were ringing me up)
after that they let us sit for a little bit with the fans to let the polish finish drying, but when the fans (on timers) turned off we didn’t exist anymore and we left without any thank you or goodbye
polish hasn’t chipped yet or anything, but there there was polish on the skin around my toes. and you can actually see that the polish doesn’t cover all of my nails. D: i probably coulda done a better job myself

I would give no stars if I could.
I have been here numerous amounts of times due to the location… I have no idea why. I have NEVER been satisfied, I guess I keep hoping they will get it together. Alas, they havn’t and I will never return again!
First of all they rush through the whole thing… I felt as if I were an inconvinience to those working. As others have mentioned they yell out their tips which is SO unprofessional its not even funny. UGH
Next, the lady began laughing and started speaking Vietnamese to another manicurist who then stood up and looked over at my nails. I was so confused and embaressed! My manicurist informed me that I have a ridiculous amount of cuticles… ummm excuse me? I had jus had my nails done just over a week ago, they cannot be that wildly out of control! So rude.
The last time I went there one of the ladies went from doing a pedicure on someone else to me WITHOUT cleaning their tools… GROSS.
Then before they paint my nails they always ask for payment, which is fine, if they are polite about it! But OH NO, «You pay cash now??»
It says you take credit cards?
«Ugh fine!» *Eye roll*
*comes back hands me the card slip* «Tip in cash!»
UMM EXCUSE ME?! I don’t need to tip you, if I feel disatisfied (as I most definently felt) with my service why should I tip you? A tip is something you get if you have done a good job. If I don’t have cash on me I’ll tip on my card. Needless to say I tipped them… I was afraid they may beat me if I didn’t. She grabbed the slip out of my hand and acted very put off– good to know my tip was appreciated.
Needless to say I left pissed off and highly dissatisfied and wondering if I were going to catch some disgusing foot fungus.

I rarely ever go to a place before checking on Unilocal.And now I know why… because I always regret it afterwards.
I was at the mall yesterday running some errands and I decided just to give this place a try. I needed a French manicure for a wedding this weekend so I popped in and asked how much first, they said $ 8. So first I was like OH SHIT SO CHEAP… and so then I sat down and then she started filing one finger and then she asked if I wanted a manicure and I was like, well yeah… (I was thinking, that’s what I said…) I asked how much, she said $ 18. Well GREAT… I was already there so I couldn’t say no at that point. I think it’s only like $ 10 – 15 at Diva Nails on Lake City Way which was my usual place but I was already at the mall.
What really sucked about the manicure was the awkward silence between the lady and me and me barely understanding her accent. And at one point she was cutting my cuticles and cut me… and I started bleeding and oh man, it hurt like a beeyotch!!! Ugh, I hate that and then it hurt even more cause she put that alcohol thingy on it. I mean I know that’s quite common to bleed during a mani/​pedi but still… I’ve had some that didn’t cause me to bleed before.
What pissed me off the most was that she left a bunch of nail polish on my hand and around my fingers afterwards. And then I realized some of the clear polish started to come off about an hour after the manicure. BLAH. What a bummer, they must use really cheap clear polish or something because it sure doesn’t stay on very well.
Needless to say, I didn’t tip because I already thought the $ 18 paid for more than what I received in service and quality. Never again. back to Diva Nails, I go.

Worst manicure experience ever!
The person doing my nails was very rude and completely ignored any of my requests or comments. I would have given Magic Nails 2 or 3 stars if they would have done a proper job but the person doing my nails wasn’t able to do anything better than poor.
I have read many of the reviews here after going and I can say I can confirm what June, Jaki, Rachael, and many others say. I wish I would have read Unilocal before.
— I had a green layer of nail polish on before going. They barely removed any, put on a new coat and it looked horrible. I even told her before she put anything on and she said it would be fine.
— After being told to go dry my nails I talked to other customers and they also confirmed that it looked bad and said I should complain. I told the woman doing my nails and she said that I should tell her and not the customers. Really? Well, I did tell her before she ruined it and she said it would be fine so obviously telling them does absolutely nothing helpful.
— She removed the new polish, removed A LITTLE bit more of the green polish and put the pink on top again. Instead of wasting my time getting it done AGAIN I just gave up. There is probably just something wrong with the employees that disables them from doing a decent job.
— When getting ready to pay they also asked me to pay in cash. I told them that I don’t have much cash and I would like to use credit, but they insisted on using cash. So, i gave them cash which was just enough to pay for their «service» but no tip. Oh well, I don’t think I was planning on it anyways after how rude they were being. Besides, since I used the rest of my cash for the service I couldn’t give them a tip even if I wanted to.
— Afterwards I went to Ulta to buy nail polish removed to get rid of all the polish on my skin.
— I showed my boyfriend after I got home and he said it looked pretty bad. This is after I had them fix it, re-​do it, and I made fixes as well as I could.
Final advice: Like others said, find your younger cousin or just anyone on the street that looks like they can see and ask them to do it. It will probably be cheaper and they will probably do a better job. Horrible company, I hope they go out of business.

I went in for a pedicure with a buddy of mine because we were at the mall and had nothing to do. Loved the chairs… really comfy. Everything else was HORRIBLE! None of the tools were sanitized, she spent literally 3 mins per leg before going to polish. My polish coat was uneven, you could actually see the brush lines and she didn’t use a top coat. My little 8 year old sister does a better job when she plays makeover hahahaaa!
I’ll never return. Save your money.

I know I shouldn’t have expected much from a place called ‘Magic Nails’ but I had some time to kill and my nails were far from polished.
My first gripe was how they asked me if I was planning on paying with cash before I even chose the color I wanted and huffed a bit when I told them I only had my debit card. I understand rates can be high but I think there are more tactful ways of asking a client that before they’ve so much as put their purse down.
I shook it off and was greeted by Amy, my manicurist. She did a fine job prepping my nails for polish but I was surprised when after she did a quick hand massage she told me to go wash my hands. Yup, I got up out of my manicure daze and walked over to a random sink to wash all the lotion off my hands. Uhh… what? That has never happened to me before.
Amy was about to start applying my base coat when her cell phone rang. She apologized so it was no big deal, stuff happens. But she pulled it out and answered it! I mean really? Wow, talk about unprofessional not to mention how it made me feel as a client (maybe its because she knew I wasn’t paying cash, who knows).
After her (what I can assume was an oh so important) conversation she finished painting my nails but smudged them last minute. After fixing it, she brought me to what was a really old school nail dryer. Like a fan that I used to have at my house old school. I had to sit for probably 5 minutes longer than at other nail salons because the dryer wasn’t effective.
It’s too bad because my nail polish actually held up rather well (5 days) but I can’t forget all of the other things that bothered me about this place.

Not so Magic after all. More like Unhappy Nails. I prefer my manicurist to not be crying while she’s filing.
And the weird obsession with cash, particularly for the tip, makes me think the owners are skimming tips put on cards.

Scraping for cash vs. attention to service. Keep in mind, I have been here before. My experience w. Carrie was good. Unfortunately, Carrie was off on Sunday. Fast forward this experience in your head: I entered asking man at front id a good massage is offered with the pedicure advertised on the display. Quick answer yes, we also offer trim of cuticles and polish… go to wall and pick a color. All other techs in store are were Vietnamese. My initial impression was that they were pretty busy… I wouldn’t have mind the wait if service was going to be good.
From the time I dipped my feet into the barely warm water to the minute I left with with a tech’s phone carelessly given to me b/​c she was too much in a hurry to get to the next victim, my experience was terrible. I understood all of the conversations among the techs. Bickered over money. My foot tech. accused the the man at the front of pocketing $ 5 of a $ 10 tip just received. I asked for a massage like the ones all others had received. I asked her 3 xs. My feet were swollen and I was so looking forward to the massage. After requesting 3 x, I still barely got a massage. In addition, the cuticle trim took 2 blinks and the loofah of on the bottom of the feet was-​i have rinsed off dishes with more pressure.
I got a mani as well. I requested a french mani and she made me feel that a french mani would be too long and it would be $ 6 more. Instead, she polished my nails with the french polish and called it good.
As soon as I sat down at the manicure table, the tech was curious and asked if I understood Vietnamese? I said yes. She was so embarrassed and told her constantly complaining boss. One by one they were all embarrassed. The boss now complained about how my foot tech was selling up the pedi & mani combos w/​o setting appts. resulting in unavailability-​she was bad mouthing in Vietnamese while doing a procedure. I was not expecting superior service when I walked through the door. I was expecting service period. Immediately signing off on my cc receipt for this experience the tech. asked if I could pay my tip in cash – I just signed off on my bill with the undeserving 5.00 !
