A limited menu but can’t beat it for a quick breakfast in the morning. I mean it doesn’t get much closer being in your hotel lobby. Great service AND if you check in on Unilocal you get $ 5 off. Thats always an unexpected treat

We were walking to another breakfast place and ended up in front of this place and decided we didn’t want to walk any further– so we went into Max’s– SOGLADWEDID! If I could hire the cook to make breakfast for me every day, I would! This was one of the best I’ve had in a very very long time. I ordered Max’s breakfast and my husband ordered the omelet special-and we ordered a side of blueberry pancakes… breakdown is as follows… Orange Juice — fresh squeezed and absolutely amazing Blueberry pancakes — Order these! The best I’ve ever had — honestly the best! From the batter to the blueberries to how they were cooked on the griddle– amazeballs! Eggs over medium– it’s hard to get Eggs over anything just right… but these were perfectly over medium– perfect! Bacon — perfectly prepared– not to fatty not to crisp — just right!!! Hash browns– again– very good!!! Perfectly crisp and fresh. Sourdough toast– yummo! The cooks here are definitely pros if you ask me– the ingredients were fresh, but they definitely know how to prepare an amazing breakfast! I’m not kidding! My husband said his omelet was awesome — but I was to busy basking in my own breakfast goodness to care! All I can say is — go here for breakfast– if you get the cooks we had — you will love it too!

We stayed at the Hotel FIVE and Max’s Café is next to the lobby. I ordered up some Eggs Benedict and a Bacon Mary. They were brought up to the room in a flash and the food and drink were delicious! Please be forewarned that they do add on a $ 2 charge and an additional 18% gratuity to the bill if you’re going to have them deliver it to the room. We were lazy as hell and had it delivered. It was great. The Bacon Mary was legendary and a meal unto itself, because it’s loaded up with bacon, a cheese cube, olive, celery, and rimmed with black pepper sea salt. It’s potent and it definitely woke me up since we had a busy day ahead of us. Max’s Café was tops!

This review concerns the eggs benedict — which were absolutely divine! Both my friend and I ordered them, and our eggs were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. The hollandaise sauce was wonderful, though I do wish they used more of it. Hashbrowns tasted amazing, flavorful, crispy on the outside… I’m sure I will dream of them. The place was quiet and out of the way, prices were reasonable, and I was excited to use the $ 5(FIVE!!!) off your meal from checking in on Unilocal

Decent breakfast menu choices, even for kids. Saturday morning was completely packed but our server worked his butt off and never complained or blamed others despite being very warranted to do so. Pancakes were perfect and eggs Benedict were spot on without having burned English muffins which I often find. I’ll be back for more and our server needs a raise.

So after management apologized for my earlier experience, I gave them another try, this time eating in and th experience was quite different. The staff was still super friendly, but the food, Max’s breakfast, which consisted of hash browns, egg and a meat of your choice(ham), was quite different. The eggs, I ordered scrambled, were fluffy and tasted quite nice(though I like them more salty, but that was easily fixed). The ham was fried so it was nice and hot, but still juicy and the hash browns were nice and crispy on the bottom, but not totally crisp, which I like. It, too lacked some salt for my taste though. And it also came with two slices of bread(several choices) and my sourdough was toasted just enough so it could withstand the butter I put on it. Oh, and the overall portion size was quite big. I was pretty stuffed after. Overall a much different experience than before. I still prefer some of the food more salty, but when you eat in that’s easily fixed and I get that there might not like it this way. So, maybe I caught them on an off day before or they just aren’t used to on the go orders, but this was definitely more in line with the other Unilocal reviews I read.

This in hotel restaurant serves up a lovely breakfast with fresh ingredients. They whipped me up a delicous spinach omlet exactly to my specifications with an ample side of fruit salad. Friendly helpful servers were quick to offer info and fill up of coffee mugs. You can find the café inside The 5 hotel.

The waffles are amazing! I’d recommend the fresh berries and the fried Elvis waffles. So good! Also Maranda was a great waitress. We were very pleased with the service.

Great little spot! We went here both mornings we stayed at hotel 5. Our waitress Ruth did a fantastic job and the food was delicious! Perfect quick breakfast before going out to explore Seattle. The manager of the restaurant was very nice also and went out of his way to make sure that all the customers were pleased with their meals.

I tried the blueberry flaxseed pancakes with the chicken link and fresh fruit. Everything was pretty light and delish, the presentation of the dish was very nice. Although it seemed to be understaffed, the was only one server who was running around, the food came out fast and hot.

Understaffed so the waitress was overwhelmed and service was slow. Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Bacon was a bit pricey at $ 4 for two slices.

Went there because it was inside our hotel and saw positive reviews on Unilocal. We both got the bagel with wild smoked salmon. It was not good. The salmon had no flavor and the house made cream cheese(dill and chive) had an overly sweet lemon-flavoring taste — you know, not like actual lemon tasting but reminded me more like the trix cereal. The pickled onions were different, not bad but not to my liking. With so many other better choices on this block I would not recommend this to a friend. Coffee was good though.

This is a review of lunch at Max’s Café inside the Five Hotel. The staff was super friendly and effective. The ambiance is that of a simple basic café. It was clean and well kept. Caprese Sandwich + Chicken Caprese Sandwich + Chicken — This was a nice sandwich. It was freshly prepared. The mozzarella was warm and creamy. The bun was soft and very flavourful. The only negative was the chicken was very bland. My brother had the Eggs Benedict and enjoyed it. Receipt(Lunch for 2): $ 26.77 — We received a 10% discount for a first time check-in via Unilocal. Overall — This was a nice little lunch. It isn’t the kind of place you go out of the way to visit. But, if you are in the neighbourhood and need a decent lunch or breakfast, Max’s Café can do the trick. (One note — The server mentioned they were closing soon for a complete renovation. I do not know when this is occurring.)

Came here because we didn’t that’ve time before leaving to venture far. Had the waffle sliders with berries and berry crème cheese. The crème cheese was bland and tasted neither like berries or crème cheese. The waffles were the best part of the meal. If you need fast food then come here. Nothing remarkable about the food or service. Menu was very appealing and I feel that some of the other food choices would have been better, such as the frittata of the day or smoked salmon bagel with pickles onions. You can have a good, quick meal here for a decent price.

I think I went into this place with higher expectations — and ended up disappointed. When I stayed at H5 last year, I thought this place looked decent(from the outside, anyway), and kinda regretted not trying it then. I thought I’d change that with a recent visit, and I discovered I didn’t really miss much. The atmosphere is definitely puzzling, because the hotel itself is very hip(but not hipster) — yet this place feels like it was decorated as a Denny’s from 1987. The server was average — I got the distinct impression that she would have rather been anywhere else but there. The breakfast itself was pretty average — not exceptional, but certainly not awful. It gets an average rating for being a pretty darn average place — which is a shame, because there are folks around town(within walking distance, even) that do it so much better.

Generous coffee cups and delicious food. Fast service on the order. Well worth eating here. Prices were a bit high, but that can be expected for a hotel restaurant. Free newspapers too.

A hotel restaurant, but great for breakfast. Bf and I each had a special and they were both delicious. Probably a little more expensive because it’s at a cool hotel, but I thought it was worth the price. Waitress was nice and it wasn’t crowded on a Friday morning, two definite positives.

The breakfast here is what you should order. My boyfriend ordered the French toast and egg Benedict special and they were really good. I really enjoyed it. I had the burger and it was just ok, nothing special.

Ate here for breakfast while staying in the hotel this past weekend and I really enjoyed the food. Ended getting the«Two Eggs Your Way»(sunny-side up eggs, sausage + hash browns + rye bread) which was very good. Also tasted their Chicken & Waffle sandwich and that was so amazing. The waitress was pretty helpful, though she didn’t come back for refills on drinks. Had to take a star off for this review, due to the un-refills on drinks in addition to the restaurant being out of salmon and truffle hollandaise.

What a pleasant find near downtown Seattle. I work in the area, and to find a place that serves breakfast until 1:30pm is wonderful, and it is a good breakfast, too! Of course they serve lunch as well, and everything I have tried is delicious, especially the sweet potato fries. They are really crisp on the outside, and the inside actually tastes like sweet potato, yum! Very good service, accommodating wait staff, comfortable seating… I have eaten there with friends and clients 4 times in the past 2 weeks. Drop in, you will be glad you did! Kate.

Not bad. Not great. Good value. Given the price, better than a lot of other options in the area. Okay service. Comfy booths to sit in. No annoying music. Relaxed atmosphere. The fries were woefully undercooked.

I eat here a lot. This restaurant has some amazing food. The french toast is pretty darn amazing as is the Salmon chowder, especially paired with the hash browns. I can leave happily full and no long hungry after a long nights work. I have met the owner a few times and he is a very cool guy, as are all the waitresses/cooks. Now if only they would get Monte Cristo’s I would probably live in this restaurant and just live off of them. A+++ Service and food. This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem inside of the hotel. At first, we were skeptical and hesitant to try it because it was completely empty inside. We are glad that we gave it a try because the food was good. We ordered the Huevos and I ordered the omelette. The portions were very generous, great service, and the food was tasty.

This is my new favorite breakfast spot in Seattle. Great service & excellent food. Literally one of the best breakfasts ever… it was the perfect thing for the rainy cold weather that is typical of Seattle. My waiter turned out to be the Director of Food & Beverage and shared with me their future plans of turning the restaurant into more of a dinner destination with specialty cocktails and entrees that match the quality of their already delicious menu. Can’t wait to travel to Seattle again and eat here.
