Go to Mishou! They have amazing grilled panini-pressed sandwiches, italian deli salads(white bean, caponata, etc.), soups and sides. Polenta, grape leaves they have it all. Reasonable prices and everything was delicious. Just go you wont be disappointed.

This place is fantastic and their pricing is fair! There is not too much sitting room so be prepared to eat on the go if you don’t get a spot. I had the Sierra chicken with Gouda, roasted chicken, mixed greens, chipotle mayo, red onions, and tomatoes. I’m craving for another because it was that good. The staff was very friendly!

I wanted to like Michou, as it’s been in my bookmarks for a while and has quite a few positive reviews on Unilocal. The location couldn’t be any better; right on the prime stretch of Pike Place next to Le Panier. Stopped by around 2 pm on a sunny Saturday to grab a late lunch. Quite a few variety of sandwiches to choose from, which are then heated in a panini press. I had the Italian(ham, pepperoni, provolone, pepperoncini, tomatoes). My sandwich was very flavorful and tasty, but unfortunately the texture was what made me rate Michou with 3 stars. The bread was pretty forgettable, and the whole sandwich could have been more crunchy and crisp. My friend surmised that the tomatoes had been sitting in the sandwich for too long, which made the whole thing pretty soggy, which I think is probably what happened. I was expecting deli sandwiches that are fresh and made-to-order, but that isn’t the case here. The sandwiches are pre-made, they sit in the cooled case, and are then re-heated. Maybe this would work better early in the day, but by late afternoon there are many fresher places to get a tasty meal particularly in this part of town.

I want to say it’s terrible so everyone will stay away and reduce the line, but dammit this place is too tasty and the employees are too kind for me to say such a thing. You can’t go wrong with any sandwich, and the Farro salad is really good. I only wish they baked more peanut butter chocolate chip cookies(they run out of those so quick).

There is ALWAYS a line, but it is worth the wait! I need to get there earlier. They are ALWAYS out of the sandwiches I want when I get there, and they don’t make any during the rush.

It was just OK. I didn’t think the sandwich was amazing and even though it was cooked on the Panini grill it was still very cold in the middle. It’s a huge sandwich, easy to split between two people which makes it relatively cost-effective. I also had a cookie which was lackluster.

Okay. So let me preface by saying that«I’m not a sandwich person.» Phewwww! OK… Cool… We got that out of the way. But I do like this(mostly) sandwich joint. And that counts for something, right? As some people have already mentioned, this is a wonderful hidden gem in Pike Place Market. Which, let’s be completely honest, it most certainly is. Living in Chicago, I am lucky if I can find a decent, but not understuffed, and lettuce-wilting sandwich for under $ 8 – 10. That does NOT exist in my city. And if it does… Show me where! Pretty please. For a fact, Michou is a great value for its location and price points, which everyone and their mother has espoused. Where else do you find moderately sized sandwiches in a popular tourist location for not too much paper? But why you should check it out? Because I said so… No. Not really. Because for a little under $ 4 plus tax, you can get a nice sized, half panini sandwich that will fill your Seattle tourist tush for at least a couple of hours. A sandwich that has a good amount of ingredients and a good quality bread. Or for around $ 7-ish, you can get a full sammy and get fed well. I had the Italian half sandwich myself, and it did not disappoint. A simple, yet well-balanced sandwich that had ham, pepperoni, provolone, pepperoncini, tomatoes, greens, and Italian dressing. Basically like a better, less sloppy version of *COUGHS* *SQUEEZE* *AHEM!* Jimmy John’s Italian. Also, their dolmas(stuffed grape leaves) are a mere 50¢ a piece. Not too shabby for a small, rice-stuffed, olive oil and lemon-infused treat. I am a sucker for those things. So it felt like a sweet, savory, tender perfect kiss to an end of a meal.

Mmmm, even if you don’t eat your sandwich right away, it’s still freakin’ good the next day! Nestled right in the midst of Pike Place Market area, this cute little sandwich shop is fairly easy to find. With very limited table/seating, this place is more ideal of a grab ‘n go. For the sandwiches, there’s a variety of different kinds! You do get the option to buy either half or whole sandwich and the sizes are pretty generous. At around $ 3 for a half sandwich, I highly recommend trying two different types of sandwich for the price of one whole sandwich: D(Best way to maximize your opportunity in trying new flavors without keeling over from food coma.) At the recommendation of a staff member, I tried the Sierra chicken and the tuna and both were fabulous. Even cold, each bite was flavorful and I definitely felt full just eating 1 of the half sandwich. Even if you’re not in the mood for sandwiches, Michou sells a variety of other items like tasty looking salads and pastas and other items. So in all, this is a great place to stop by for a hearty lunch /early dinner and if you come during non-peak hours, service is quick and efficient :)

came by and tried their squash, mango and orzo salad(in a small size) and it was actually very filling! it had a nice tangy flavour to it and was complimented with many different ingredients. it took forever to choose which salad to try and I’m glad i picked the one i did but would love to try others if only there wasn’t so much food at pike place market already!

The beet salad was delicious. So glad I picked that up, even if I didn’t eat it til later. I let half of it mellow back in my hotel fridge and it was even yummier with more time. The sandwiches become distinctly more compact after toasting and the bread becomes brown and crunchy with grill marks. I wanted more greens on the Sierra but I might be weird. I did not find it to be either amazing sandwiches or awesome pricing but compared to the surrounding area maybe it shines. Somewhat lame drink selection but there’s coffee on both sides and a dude selling sodas and lemonade under an umbrella across the street.

Michou has a wide selection of house made sides, soups, and sandwiches. Since I work in the market, I regularly come here for lunch. I’ve tried lots of the food joints in the market and Michou has been a family favorite for years. You walk in and see a case full of foods(sold per pound). The soup is self serve and changing everyday! I always feel comfortable trying new soups because they always taste delicious!(And I am very picky so that’s saying a lot!) Since it is self serve, I find myself mixing two kinds of soups if I can’t decide– and still delicious! But my regular favorites and biggest recommendations would be the Sierra chicken or the Tuscan chicken for sandwiches(very similar.) The thai is okay but the chicken sandwiches are so good, I’ve never tried anything else. The gnocchi is super delicious but very garlicky! I love the Asian broccoli as well but it’s a bit pricey for just broccoli. Other than those two, I would highly recommend that you pick up a soup on the side! The only down side would be very very limited seating but that is not uncommon for the market. If you can’t find a seat, many people walk around and eat, sit at the curb, or there is outdoor seating behind the hallway a few doors down from Starbucks!(Ask for emmet watsons or the Icecream store, then go to the doors leading outside) Like I said, I’ve been coming her for years and I’m still coming back every week. The staff has changed a few times so I can’t say much on customer service. For a tourist area, the food is so good and so reasonably priced! You can leave with a filling lunch for less than $ 10!

This is my go-to lunch spot. What they offer: — At least 10 different types of sandwiches(big portions too) that have LOTS of flavor and seasoning. I’m drooling thinking about them now. — Pastas, salads, roasted veggies, rice dishes, quiches, baked stuffed potatoes, all of these you can order by weight. Just by looking at their dishes you can tell how fresh their ingredients are. — Desserts! Pastries, baklava, cakes, cookies, oh my god, so many good things. You can easily get lunch here for under $ 10, without waiting in a long line, and feel stuffed and happy.

Great prices and delicious! We tried a few things and most of the items are really good. Portabello w/Roasted Garlic Aioli –excellent Chicken and Goat cheese — excellent Sierra Chicken –excellent Roast Beef Gorganzola — ok but too sweet for our taste Gnocchi — house made spicy marinara. –good but not great Quinoa — cucumber, feta cheese, lemon vinaigrette — ok but would not get again Turkish — Fresh Romaine, peppers, tomatoes, red onion, cucumbers, olives, feta, mint, parsley, lemon vinaigrette — SKIPIT. Looks good but you can definitely find better salad else where.

Michou is the best deal around for lunch downtown. Yes, there will be a line and yes you will be given the daunting task of choosing one(or two) of the endless salad, sandwich, soup and dessert options, but I promise you’ll get through it. And I promise it’ll be worth it. The crispy chicken sandwich is delicious and my default when I get too overwhelmed by my options, and I usually pick the first salad I see for the ½ salad ½ sandwich combo, which only turns out to be $ 7 and some change. Seriously, how can you beat that?

Michou has allowed me to be lazy. If I’m hungry and within 5 blocks, I’ll go to Michou. It’s just so easy when they have so many varieties of pressed sandwiches, yummy and filling salads, as well as deli-style items that are by weight. I love that the salads and sandwiches have the option of halves, so my partner and I get to try more items. The staff is always pleasant as well, which I imagine can be hard on some days. I cannot pinpoint what my favorite item is, because I haven’t tried them all yet. I know the fried chicken sandwich is on my list though…

As a downtown resident, I live by the motto«When in doubt, Michou.» Located in between two popular eating places at Pike Place(Le Panier & Piroshky Piroshky), Michou is an underrated gem. They have a variety of salads and sandwiches, even a few deserts. My regulars are the Sierra and the Teriyaki Tofu, but I’ve tried others too and I’m yet to have a single experience that’s unsatisfactory. As a few reviews call out, their bread really is amazing and sandwiches are full of flavor. You have the choice of a half or a full sandwich(usually around $ 3.5 and $ 7 respectively). The people at the counter are sweet and will grill your sandwich instantly for you if you ask(I recommend this). My only gripe with the place is that it shuts early, around 5pm. I’ve often found myself wishing that it would stay open till later in the evenings so that folks like myself could grab a sandwich on our way back from work.

Let me tell you a little secret, it’s the poppy seeds. Yea, the ones that are put on a poppy seed bagel. Michou bakes poppy seeds into their bread… Their unique bread… Their perfect panini press bread… Their heaven yes I live close enough to Michou where I can get the breakfast sandwich and the sandwich of the month every day bread… Their will make you lose your mind how good it is bread… It’s the bread.

Great sandwiches, each with their own unique flavor. You know how at some sandwich shops they all end up tasting pretty mush the same no matter what combination of proteins they use? Well, not here. Grab a ½ of one kind and ½ of another and they are completely unique flavor combinations. The fresh mozzarella with basil pesto and tomato is stellar — the pesto is a bit sweeter than expected which pairs well with the acid from the tomato and the creamy melty mozzarella on panini that ahs been toasted just right. There is additional seating around the corner from the register at a counter facing the kitchen just in case the window bar seating is full.

If you’re looking for a good, cheap, hot sandwich that will satisfy your cravings in less than 8 bucks, this is your place! I ordered a half of the portobello and half of the Sierra. The portobello was awesome. It wasn’t amazing, but it was flavorful and filling. Lack of meat definitely doesn’t make this any less of a filling sandwich, in fact I wish I would have skipped the Sierra altogether and opted for full portobello(half is definitely plenty for someone who doesn’t want to feel uncomfortably full). The Sierra I wouldn’t recommend. My sandwich had a slight taste of dirt in it, perhaps from the lettuce inside? Both sandwiches were slightly soggy which you wouldn’t expect from a panini, so for that I docked a star. You can’t beat the prices for the quality, so I would definitely recommend you try it out yourself!

This spot is the best sandwich nearby Pike Place. They have the best selection and the best prices. $ 6.20 for a sandwich or $ 6.40 to get a couple halves of sandwiches(I like to change things up). They have a bunch of other great salads here too. Their deli is rolling with good food options and their sandwiches are incredible. I’m a big fan of the turkey bacon.

I had come running down to Pike Place Market on a rainy morning for Piroshky Piroshky, but decided to Unilocal Le Panier since it was busy, and said heck why not, Unilocal Michou too since it is right here. I’m so glad I did! It’s a hidden gem between the 2 busier shops. Michou was completely empty when I walked in and there was no one at the cashier counter. I had to walk to the back to ask for assistance. Once I was helped and my sandwiches were being warmed up, a couple walked in, looked, and walked out. I think Michou would get more customers if they had someone at the front counter to greet customers and help them out. I chose half a sierra chicken and half a tuna bacon. I had a bite of both, and both were delicious. I wish I discovered it earlier. The prices are great, the portions are big, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend this place as many places in Seattle have subpar food and outragious prices.

Went here with a friend the other day for lunch. It was a sunny day and Pike Market was hoppin! It was my first time here so my friend helped me decide on a half sandwich, half salad. For $ 7 it was plenty of food! And it was so good! For my sandwich, I got the Sierra, it had roasted chicken, tomato, melty delicious smoked gouda, red onions, mixed greens, and a chipotle aioli! It was a decent size, but it was so good I could have probably had a whole one. For the side I got a Sicilian pasta salad. I loved that even more! Pasta, parmesan, pepperoncini, red and green bell peppers, and a light(italian?) dressing. I could eat a giant bowl of this. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their tasty looking sandwiches!

My friend and I stopped here to eat on our last day in Seattle. We wanted somewhere we could at least sit but I was also looking for something relatively fast because we had a plane to catch. We waited about 10 minutes in line, and thought I would order a smoked salmon sandwich. As we waited, we were able to see the sandwiches in the cases. I asked the guy behind the counter if they had the smoked salmon and I misunderstood him. apparently they were completely out but for some reason I just thought they didn’t have those on display. At any rate, he seemed kind of impatient from the beginning. When asked what I wanted, I was thrown off when I discovered there was no smoked salmon sandwich and, pressured by the long line behind me, I hastily chose the Sierra, which had roasted chicken smoked gouda. But at the end of the counter, I saw the Tuscan, which had chicken, artichokes, and mozzarella cheese, so I asked the cashier if I could change the order. He asked the guy who took my order, who asked me, «you’re adding the Tuscan?» and when I said«no,» he made a face at me and shook his head. They did the substitution, but my sandwich came out after three other people who ordered after me got theirs, and mine was burnt and quite squashed. There didn’t appear to be a whole lot of chicken in my sandwich or flavor, probably because it was burned. The half sandwich/half soup combo for under $ 8 bucks would have been a good deal otherwise because the soup – roasted red pepper tomato – was pretty tasty. Also, my friend ordered baked potato and mac and cheese but neither of us realized you have to heat those items up in the microwave, which is pretty unappetizing. Anyway, this place might have good ingredients but I couldn’t tell based on what I was served. I think the guy purposely burnt my sandwich and made me wait longer, so I’m giving them 2 stars for s***** customer service and the burnt sandwich. Check out my photo for the evidence! I would never return here. Pike’s Place is full of delis with tasty-looking sandwiches so it’s not like there aren’t great alternatives.

My favorite spot in downtown for panini! Even though Michou is located in touristy Pike Place, the lines have usually gone pretty quickly whenever I go for weekday lunch(usually before noon). They offer a wide selection of sandwiches, pastas, salads, and baked goods. My first visit was overwhelming with all the options! Pretty much everything is premade and is sitting in the display cases, waiting for you to buy them! They’ll grill your sandwiches when ordered, but the pastas don’t come heated. You can also order half sandwiches, or their sandwich combos(e.g., half sandwich + soup, etc). For most of the pastas, you purchase them by the pound. I’m addicted to their Tuscan chicken panini! Recently, I tried their pesto tortellini and pesto chicken pasta bake. The pesto tortellini was delish! I’d definitely get that again. The pasta bake was okay, but probably not a favorite. Overall, the food tastes great, and the prices are awesome too –thanks Michou, for not overpricing! :D NOTE: $ 5 minimum for cards, and very limited seating!

While heading to the Pike Place Market, I was short on time but wanted something quick to eat for lunch. Piroshky Piroshky of course had a crazy line so I skipped that all together; Michou had one as well, but at least it was moving at a faster pace — so that was the deciding factor for me. Walking in, you see a variety of their sweet treats followed by a long display case filled with a variety of sandwiches, pastas, salads and even crazy baked potatoes. It was really hard to choose since everything looked amazing and it ultimately came between the roasted chicken sandwich, gnocchi and the roast beef. The poultry won. This panini was delicious and had a great balance of chicken, tomatoes, provolone cheese, sun dried tomatoes, lemon aioli and pesto. SO freaking good, especially since the bread was perfectly toasted, so it had an amazing crunch with every bite. After tax, this beauty was less than $ 7 which I thought was a major steal. The serving is great to enjoy while walking and perusing the market, or they have some limited seating at a counter if you want to sit and enjoy there. I can’t see this being an option on the weekend as it was still pretty packed on a Tuesday afternoon. There is a park like area nearby where there are additional seats and a short wall that you can perch yourself on. I can’t wait to go back and try the things I overlooked the first time around!

Perfect timing… for some reason there was no line the other day, so it was just us. This is what happens when the guy is too busy playing with his phone and not paying attention to the panini press. When I got back to my office, this is what my sandwich looked like. I was able to eat the inside of the sandwich though and the orzo salad was delicious as usual.

Rain, rain please stay, come again another day. This is probably the only time I would ask the rain to stay because it makes the line at Michou bearable. Thankfully on this rainy day there were barely any people inside Michou. I was able to browse all the items they had inside the display case before ordering. I felt no rush and was glad that there wasn’t an angry, hungry customer behind me groaning about how the lines aren’t going fast enough. If you are like my partner and I, you might be confused as to «wear is the panini menu?» There are many pictures of panini like sandwiches on Unilocal but there is no actual menu that has the«panini.» To clarify this confusion, all the sandwiches that are in the display case go through the panini press and become paninis! Therefore, just pick your sandwich and it will transform into yummy goodness. The sandwiches come in either a half size or a full size. The sides come either in a small or a price per pound size. We decided to go with a half sierra chicken, a full Italian, a small macaroni salad and one arincini. The best part is, the prices here are so reasonable(Pike Place is usually pretty pricey). For this whole meal it was only a bit over $ 16. The guy who rung us up told us that the arincini was cold and that we could use the microwave that is located on the shelf. I was slightly turned off by the fact that I would have to reheat an item. I wish that the arincini was placed in an area that keeps hot items warm but I was still willing to try it out. Our sandwiches were put on the panini press and we grabbed our items to find a seat. The place is small with very little seating. There are probably only about 9 seats that you can sit in. I’m thankful that a couple left about 3 minutes after we got our food. Sierra Chicken — I got the half size but it was definitely plenty for me. I was a little sad that the paninis weren’t heated to be very hot because it was close to cold when we finally bit into it. The sandwiches definitely have a «flat» appearance to them but they are pretty flavorful. I had a decent amount of chicken in mine but I know that there probably could be more. The chipotle mayo was divine and I found the sandwich to be overall pretty delicious. It was definitely better than your average kind of sandwich and at a good price! Italian — The Italian tasted like your standard sandwich but with a bit more oomph to it. The banana peppers have a very nice vinegar taste that really awakens the taste buds. I didn’t feel that this one was super special but it did taste really fresh none the less. Macaroni Salad — Good. I liked that it tasted fresh and the sauce was still creamy. The mayo wasn’t overwhelming and each bite had a good flavor impact. I enjoyed that the small amount of veggies that they put in there could meld their flavors into the sauce after being refrigerated. Arincini — I didn’t enjoy that it had to be microwaved but it was delicious none the less. I’ve never had an arincini before but boy do they surprise you after you take your first bite. Typically it is a stuffed rice ball that is breaded and then fried. Ours was filled with cheese and it reminded me of a mozzarella stick with marinara on steroids. The filling inside oozed out and every bite with the sauce was so warm and inviting. Overall, I wish that the arincinis didn’t have to be reheated and that the paninis were a bit hotter. However, the price for all the items is definitely very reasonable and I will definitely come back to try more!

I came here after work and ordered an Italian sandwich plus a small carryout of gnocchi. The Italian sandwich was pretty flat(literally, not figuratively), and not particularly exciting, but the pricing was good(half a sandwich for $ 3.50). The gnocchi on the other hand was pretty exciting with the spiciness, but I thought it was a bit expensive, and I wish it was served hot. I think It was around $ 7 but I’m not completely sure. Overall, I think it’s a good deli, and their pricing is very reasonable for being located in the tourist filled debacle that is Pike’s Place market.
