Rude rude rude. Rude over the phone when you try to place an order to go. Rude when you come in for lunch or dinner to ask for a table. The food is not even that good to be worth the wait, and comes out 30 minutes after you’ve ordered — and the restaurant is not even that busy. I’m happy to take my business elsewhere.

Mings is one of the places that at first they thought it would be a success at first because who doesn’t like Chinese food right. Well I guess down the road and in time. The staff and also the food just decided to not give a dam anymore about what honestly happens. I mean honestly if you wanna go to a Chinese restaurant that not only has a lot of issues and lousy food and over priced everything. Waste your time and see for yourself. And on top of it all honestly the staff are lazy and so is the food. There are millions of other restaurants that are far better and better priced and more then mings China bistro could ever do in a life time.

Stopped in on a whim after a walk around the lake and are glad we did. This place definitely seems to engender hot and cold reviews but thankfully we fall in the former category. We came in shortly after they opened and the place filled quickly but service was consistent throughout our stay. The food was simply stellar — a mix of Americanized and more traditional Chinese dishes. Yum! We will be back.

Mao’s pork belly was a tragedy. There were two pieces of pork belly even with the nippl3 on them… Salt duck egg with pumpkin is also something you should avoid. We came here for authentic Sichuan food, but it was not a good experience at all. The appetizers were good, the tea pot was good, the utensils were good but not the main dishes.

If there’s 0 star I would like to give it 0. The dishes taste terrible. We ordered a dish with lotus root, they even don’t peel them. I found this and asked them about it. They just said they only peel the lotus root for the starter. Horrible, will never come again. And they asked a steamed begs for 20 dollars. DONOTCOMEHEREIFYOUHAVEOTHERCHOICE

Please don’t waste your money! Food is oily and doesn’t taste fresh! Super pricey and extremely greasy!

The service is okay, the food is pretty bad for the price. Environment is alright. We got a party of 10 and we spend about $ 300. Got 10 dishes. The chicken soup is kinda of bitter and bland. The cumin lamb taste okay, but not much lamb in there and all the meat is cut into tiny pieces. This dish should be stir-fried rather than a stew-ish form. The tofu beef taste pretty bad, wh the fuck it is sweet? The crawfish with sticky rice cake, rice cake is hard like rubber, and the crawfish is tiny. Flavor-wise you can only taste the spicies. The red stew pork, why the fuck it’s sweet? Some seafood tofu dish, it is soked in very starchy thick sauce, dafuq is this? A huge plate of baked/hotpot fish, fish is not fresh, taste is bland, even if you dip in to the sauce, it just taste like the species. Last two dish is just some garlic stir fried vegetables. Taste good but for the price of 20 bucks per dish, pls? They gave us some sweet sticky rice cake for desert, taste just like the cheap rice cake you get from korean market, with food dye and a slice of strawberry on it. In conclusion, i would give 3 stars if they drop the price by half.

We had high hopes for this place, but we’ll never go back. Just watching the differences between how tables were treated was pretty nauseating and downright rude. There were two servers and they spent all their time with tables with patrons who spoke Chinese. We didn’t, so we were ignored. We asked the server what he recommended and he mumbled something, we asked to clarify and he said«the chicken is ok.» We ordered a few dishes and a few starters and everything was mediocre at best. The servers didn’t come back once to check in our entire meal. When we tried to get the check we stared at the server for ten straight minutes. I had to stand up and walk over to their server station and wave my hands in front of their faces to get their attention. This place is terrible. The service was horrible. The food is average. The prices are high for what it is. I have no idea why anyone would go there.

When I look at restaurant reviews on Unilocal, sometimes it’s difficult to know which reviews reflect the true nature of the food. Mediocre restaurants get enough 4 and 5 star reviews to make them look comparable to a great restaurant that got a blast of 1-star reviews for some reason. The reviews for Ming China Bistro are good and bad, but we decided to try it for ourselves and make our own assessment. The first visit was great. But I waited to review this restaurant until we had a second visit — just in case we got lucky the first visit. Ming China Bistro is the Chinese restaurant we’ve looked for in Seattle for 20 years. The dishes look similar to any other Chinese restaurant, but Ming makes superior food. What is better? Better meat — the chicken in the General was chicken breast, not chicken McNugget like many other places. And the beef in the Szechuan Beef was tender and flavorful. The spices — distinctive, fresh, real. Not the generic tasting Chinese that makes me suspect most of these places use the same canned sauces. Preparation — all dishes were very fresh and seemed to have more veggies in it than other places. Crispy stuff was crispy, even 10 minutes after take out. Both meals we had were take out. Both times, while paying for my food, I observed a dining room full of happy diners with amazing looking dishes on their tables. We look forward to dining in. If you have searched for better Chinese food, trust me, try this place. The 1-star reviewers have been smoking crack, or have some other agenda and are unrepresentative of how damn good Ming China Bistro really is.

I have been to this restaurant a few times, this is a very nice place. And the food is AWESOME! My favorite is their lobster, it’s very fresh and yummy. All of their dishes are very authentic and impressive, you can’t find any other restaurant in Seattle like this. I will definitely go again.

I went to Ming’s with a group of friends for dinner. We were impressed by the decors when we walked into the restaurant. Our group ordered quite a few dishes and they were all great and we especially love the soup. If there is anything they could improve on, I’d say that their spicy fish was a bit too spicy for my taste. Their desserts are especially cute and tasty. I don’t think you will find those desserts at other Chinese restaurants in Seattle. Overall I’d recommend it as a great place for dinner.

Made reservation. Checked in. ½ hr later still standing at entry. Then we were seated, and that was it. No one came by in ½ hour, no acknowledgement that we were there. Left. Mysteriously, Open Table reservation was removed from my history.

I love this place so much. Appetizer is free and will be served right away when you’re seated. Food are all EXCELLENT! If you’re looking for some REAL Chinese food, this is the place, especially blue crab rice cake and their soup. Saw a couple of bad reviews and I don’t understand why, some just look like the same person did it. Anyway, they will also provide free desert at the end, so TASTY!

It’s the best Chinese restaurant that I’ve found in Seattle. Great service and friendly stuff. There are few reasons I dinning there very often. First, they have the kind of shrimp that I love it … Lol and then, the owner of the restaurant always provide free dessert. Other, they have free parking lot just on the back of the building.

Overpriced, not fresh food, no hater, bad service… Run away from here! They don’t have any sense of service, they charge for the green onions and the cilantro! We couldn’t eat an entire lot of meat because it wasn’t fresh and they still change it all, they deserve the no tip!

WORST dining experience EVER! I don’t write reviews on Unilocal unless it’s way over the limitation of my acceptance, and my experience at this restaurant was definitely beyond the tolerance. Waiter’s attitude was terrible. Food was not fresh. Orders were ignored. etc. In short, if you care about your health and want to be respected as a customer while dining, avoid going to this restaurant.

I was anxious to try this place because we haven’t found our«go to» Chinese place yet. We were not disappointed! The restaurant was busy, and we were the only non-Asians there so I was hopeful and yet apprehensive. Apprehensive because we like«American Chinese» food and maybe this would be too authentic :) The menu was pretty extensive, with pages of descriptions in English and Chinese, with many items we had never heard of. The last 2 pages were the familiar items we were hoping for. We ordered the pork fried rice, General Tsao chicken, and Lemon Chicken. The portions were huge, and delicious! The lemon chicken consisted of tender chicken breast, with a yummy and yet delicate lemon sauce. The General Tsao chicken had a light mild heat in a tangy sauce. All tasted very fresh. Coupled with the complimentary hot tea and some(not complimentary) hot sake, we found our meal to be quite satisfactory and we have lunch for tomorrow as well. We will definitely be back, and maybe we’ll be more courageous and order from the front part of the menu next time :)

Very disappointed. Poor service and management. Waited a loooooong time(about 2 hrs) for the hot pot(which doesn’t need much preparation). They definitely need much more training in the future if they don’t wanna lose customers.

It is my first visit to this restaurant, being suggested by advertising by a post of CSSA. I ordered Ma La Tang, the fish balls were cold inside. I complain about it, since I cannot eat frozen food in cold winter. The server took the dish back, and reheated it. All vegetables were over-cooked. Obviously, we cannot eat them anymore.

Fancy interior. you have to ask for the appetizers apparently if you don’t speak mandarin. why do we have to ask for something that other tables were getting automatically? I don’t know. Korean restaurants sometimes do this to non Korean speaking customers as well. The hung to get here is the sizzling lamb dish I guess because everyone was ordering this. We tried the mapo tofu. it was bland. the honey walnut was fine. the Dan Dan noodles were tasty but I think the pool of chili oil didn’t agree with my GI system. lots of young Chinese people eating here. potential of being good but will be a while until I go back especially at those prices.

Anxious to try as I had a strong recommendation to go «great Chinese food». The service was deplorable. We were seated immediately and the wait began! At one point I realized those that were seated after the two of us were experiencing the service one would expect. When the server finally approached the table we started to order after a couple questions we asked for a few minutes…20 minutes later we asked the hostess over, asked for our bill to pay for the 2 glasses of wine. We paid, we left, no plans of returning.

So I finally made it back, I was actually excited to go back as my neighbors love going here and rave about it. I figured my last experience was just ok. I wanted to give the Hot and Sour Soup another try, and try something else. I called for lunch special, but they don’t service lunch specials anymore(kinda a bummer being on a budget but ok whatever) I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, white rice and Hot and Sour Soup. She said to pick up in 15 – 20 minutes and the chicken and soup is made to order. I arrived about 20 minutes later, 12:45pm on a Wednesday. It was ready! $ 22 for everything but large servings. It will be lunch and dinner for me! I got home and unpacked everything. Again nice size servings. I tried the Hot and Sour Soup first. It DOES taste different, but actually its quite delicious. Maybe when I came before there was too much oil, or come ingredient in it that I wasn’t prepared for but it is different then any Hot and Sour Soup I have had, but fresh and really delightful. And light. Its a mixture of hot spices, rice vinegar, sweetness and vegetables and tofu and egg. Its really good I am a FAN. The sweet and sour chicken was yummy– Tender and delicious. The Sauce was really good. Not too sweet, not too sour. Really perfect. So I am glad I gave Ming China another try. I want this restaurant to work out… We need a good chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Hopefully it will make it as I will be back! !
