This place is great all the time. Strong drinks, fun crowd. If you take care of the staff they know it and will definitely take care of you. Monday nights are slow and a good country Kareoke night while Wednesday’s are also Kareoke but much busier and a young crowd. Every other night seems to have live bands full of a crowd eager to dance and very friendly.

I went here for the first time on the night of Friday, April 1st. The bouncer right inside the main entrance was a huge, aggressive asshole. Rude behavior I can deal with. Rude and aggressive? Absolutely not. There was a short line to use the ATM to pay the cover, but it wasn’t clear which way the line was. My boyfriend walked a few steps toward what we thought to be the end of the 1 – 2 person line. There was a man standing there(tall, gruff looking, maybe middle-aged?) but we didn’t know he was the bouncer at that moment because he just standing there and wasn’t wearing anything indicating he was staff. He basically roared and swore in my boyfriend’s face, «What the fuck do you think you’re doing???» What the hell? He was so unnecessarily aggressive. It was shocking. I will not be going here again.

Lots of fun if you like old fashioned Country music, two stepping, swing dancing, schottische, and being up close and personal with lots of people of all ages.

If you’re a country bar/country music fan, this is the place in Seattle. I was shocked that we even had a country bar in Seattle(much less on Greenlake) and I lived here most my life. I can’t say anything bad about the place, but I’m not a country music fan. So, if you don’t like country music, then don’t go. If your looking for live country music, a lot of dancing, an evenly mix of men to women ratio, this place hits the spot. Strong drinks, very storng drinks.

This place is pretty lame but I still go from time to time. The drinks are terrible, and there’s always some rude older people hanging at the bar. If you go before 10pm you’ll be 1 of 5 – 8 people. But Wednesday’s are karaōke/country night, the place gets packed late at night and can be pretty fun.

For our graduate tax program’s end-of-quarter party, we had it here. A country bar. Something that seemed right out of that scene from Sicario. Out of character for most of us, but we vibed to $ 1 PBRs during karaōke time. They have a small dance floor that is equally suitable for slow-dancing or twerking. There was a streak of women who did sad country love songs and crooned the shit of them like they were going to be single forever. I martyred myself for my entire class and performed a cover of Carly«Bae» Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe. The whole bar got woke. I survived. I’m glad I did. I outted all these closeted CRJ fans in cowboy boots. Strong 3 to a Light 4

Live country music, cheap beer/shots, and a rowdy crowd… recipe for success! Lots of young people but lots of older regulars looking for dance partners!

To me its a boaring old country bar. Good for dancing and a live band. Drinks are average priced and most nights have a cover charge.

Have been here several times and had a lot of fun. However, last night the owner(or someone pretending to be the owner who had authority) decided to pick a fight with my friends and I. Could not be more put off by the lack of professionalism by the staff. If you are a recent college grad looking for a sloppy good time this is your spot. However, I have never had an experience at a bar that was such a turn off as a I did last night. Avoid the owner and the management staff at all cost if you want this bar to maintain a positive taste in your mouth.

Can’t speak for the food, but the drinks were spot on, the people were friendly, and the music and dancing was the highlight of the night. No complaints over here, we’ll be back for some more!

Visited Tuesday night for country dancing lesson 8 – 9 and it was a blast. The instructor was very good. She gave clear instructions, demo-ed, pointed out our bad habits, gave pointers as we danced, and had a great sense of humor. I would totally come back for lessons again. Did I mention it’s free? And the people watching was fantastic, too. Experienced dancers looking graceful on the dance floor, country get up like none other. I felt I was in Texas again. But oh, we received no service when we got there early and had to leave to get food then come back. Maybe there’s a secret hand shake we don’t know about.

Decent dive bar. Good feel when ur into that hole-in-the-wall style or country music. Sunday’s suck tho. The dance instructor is a straight«C U Next Tuesday» type of girl. Any other day from Sunday, get rdy to have a good time. CHEERS!!!

Went here on a Wednesday from a friend’s recommendation and had a blast! I love this little country bar. Wednesday happy hour is 1 $ beers and they also have karaōke. Great mix of people too! As an avid line dancer I was slightly disappointed there wasn’t much of any line dancing happening :/

I stopped in on a Monday night to check out the free line dancing lessons and escape the heat … First of all it was so cold it felt so good compared to outside. It was happy hour and I ordered some hot wings and a draft IPA. The wings were delicious perfectly sauced and only $ 5 for I believe 8 with some ranch and celery and carrots… Line dancing was fun I stayed after and even sang a song for Monday night karaōke. Totally friendly crowd a mixture of all ages. Both bartenders were dolls especially Mimi… I can’t wait to go back I love this place !

If you’re a dancer or a whiskey drinker or both, The Little Red Hen is basically heaven. I recommend any night with a live band(which is five nights a week, friends).

I love this place. I used to come here every week for their free line dancing lessons and always had a blast! Sometimes I would stay for Karaōke and I remember this one guy getting up there to sing on a weekly basis. He sounded like Dead Martin! I also love that the staff is very kind and gets to know you. I used to order there Cobb Salad a lot, because it was so good! Give this place a shot!

I love dive bars, so I feel at home here. The people and staff are super friendly. I’ve come here a couple times over the years on Saturdays and on a Tuesday for the FREE dance lessons. I’ve yet to experience the karaōke here however. The live music is great, acoustics aren’t terrible, dance floor is nice, booths are perfectly sized and the crowd makes you feel relaxed. I was asked to dance and there are some amazing & polite gentlemen that can surely dance! This place is perfect for a crowd and yes, it is good yet tasteful country music that they play. I haven’t been to many places like it and I enjoy myself here.

Haha. Not my scene but pretty fun. I’m from LA and TLRH was my first experience at a country bar… all that said I actually had a lot of fun. The only reason my rating is so low is that I had a pretty crappy experience with the staff. The guy at the door was not nice at all. I arrived at 7:55 and although they start charging a cover at 8 I had to pay anyway followed by being told about a milllion times by every person on the staff not to bring my drink out to the dance floor…(which at this time I didn’t even have a drink) The bartender was alright but not too welcoming either. I think it could have been a lot more fun, but I wish I would have had a better experience with the people there.

Gone n’ dunnit! I found Mecca. I’m really not sure how I managed to live in Seattle my entire life and never go to The Little Red Hen until last night. I am forever changed. First of all — it turns out line dancing is my calling. It’s what’s been missing in my life. Second of all, the nicest bartender ladies in the world. Third of all, friendliest wackadoo bar crowd in Seattle. And finally, an entire night of drinkin’ and dancin’ and I only spent $ 20. Now, if that ain’t somethin’, I don’t know what.
