Ugh. Fail. I came because I wanted to try a bunch of food trucks at once. I wanted to get a sample of everything right??? Well the lines are SO long that by the time you get there, you just want to order as much as possible because you are so mad you waited so long and because you don’t want to wait in another line. It took us about 3 hours to get through 3 food truck lines. You do the math. I’d rather go to each food truck once in a while and cover them all. Heck, getting in my car and driving to each food truck across Seattle, would have taken less than 3 hours!

I can’t quite bring myself to give the Mobile Chowdown on 2⁄9 more than 2 stars(one for the excellent food and the other for a good location). My friends and I heard this Mobile Chowdown was going to be better organized so we decided to give it a shot having been to some other street food vendors for random lunches during the year(and loving them). We arrived a little before noon and quickly found a spot at the bottom of the parking lot off one of the side streets. I was hoping THIS would be my chance to finally try Marination, but alas the line was longer than I was willing to wait in Instead we did a loop around the food trailers and then decided on El Camion. We eaten here before so knew the food would be good. While waiting in line(about 80 people), a few of us snuck over to Kaosamai Thai for some egg rolls and curry beef. Both dishes were amazing and I’ll definitely seek out their truck in the future. As for what I didn’t like… the music was over the top loud and after reaching the front of the line at El Camion, I wasn’t very hungry after consuming all that Thai food. As my husband said, we’ll stick to visiting the trucks during lunch time instead of the mobile chowdowns(where people who can’t get away for lunch during the week come).

Had a good time here today, wish I had tried more food but it was too nice of a day to spend waiting in long ass lines, the food I did try was good, I had a Donut from Top Pot, and a Jones Soda Root beer then I went over and got some Thai food, it was Pork and Rice with veggies and the veggies were just right also the live Mexican Band was interesting to say the least, I was waiting on the guy to start doing Jimmi Hendrix songs, you could just tell he wanted to break out from the same old same old and he was good enough to pull it off I am sure all in all it was a fun time would of been better if friends had made it also, but looks like they got a Puppy instead :)

I am SO glad we got here at 11am when it opened or else I would thrown a fit if I had to wait to long to consume all this deliciousness. And it was delish. Marination TOTALLY lives up to the hype. Good Lord. Anita’s nutella and banana crêpe — a classic — yet perfect every time. Tamales, Dante’s dogs, Great Jones, Great Scott! This rocked and I will be back next year!

Just got back from the 2nd Mobile Chowdown in Magnolia. What a cool, creative way to use this scrubby parking lot. Lines– Long! Music– LouD! Food– ‘Licious! Feasted on Dantes Inferno dogs while waiting in the 100 deep line for El Camion(the«truck»). Good setup for the dining seating under the tent.
