The gyro was good! I also appreciated that they spelled it phonetically«yeero» because we were right in the middle of an argument about Jai-ro vs. yeero. Lots of crisp veggies, soft pita, and most importantly, delicious tzaziki sauce. The meat was seasoned well, though it could be chopped into smaller shavings since it was a bit difficult to eat.

Ever since I visited Greece and what ate what seems like the best gyro ever, I’ve been on the search for something comparable in the US. I haven’t found it yet, but the search will continue until I do. With that said I stumbled upon Mr. D’s Greek Delicacies. I decided to try their beef gyro. At $ 8 it came with freshly grilled beef, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and tzaziki sauce wrapped with pita bread. The flavor of the beef along with the pita bread and veggies was really good, however, the meat was not as tender as I thought it would be. They had a tangy hot sauce to go with the gyro which added a lot of flavor is well, but towards the middle of eating the gyro it started to get messier to eat from the hot sauce and tzasiki. Overall, the gyro was pretty standard. Great if you’re looking for something quick to eat or need something to munch on while you’re walking around.

Fantastic gyro! $ 9 got me a huge meat filled gyro that he cut fresh off the skewer into fresh tasting warm nan bread

The staff was very helpful and friendly! This revues however is more directed to the lamb gyro(however spelled yeero on the menu). The gyro was in a conveniently«coned» pita with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce. The tzatziki sauce was pretty good and the veggies tasted fresh, but he lamb itself was just ok-bit dry and not very seasoned. I did purchase about 30min before closing so it may have dried out throughout the night. The lamb gyro was not very memorable or incredibly tasty unfortunately.

My friend and I were wandering through Pike Place Market and just happened to run by Mr. D’s Greek Delicacies. It’s a counter deli, so food is meant be ordered on the go. Whenever I see Greek food, I will hardly pass it up. They have a few varieties of the gyro sandwich: lamb, chicken, beef or vegetarian. I went truly authentic and got a lamb gyro. This sandwich was huge! A typical gyro, it was pita bread stuffed with lamb, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and a wonderful tzatziki sauce. The lamb gyro was $ 7.00 and SO worth it! It had great flavor and taste to it. Mr. D’s Greek Delicacies is a great place to get a taste of the Mediterranean if you happen to be in the Northwest! I’m glad we ran into this place! I’m ever back in Seattle, you can bet I’ll stop by again!

I eat a lot. The small staff recognizes me when I arrive and always add extra lamb to my gyro sandwich. Sometimes they even sell me a bit more meat on the side and charge by weight. This walk up Greek delicatessen is a market treasure that doesn’t look like much, but delivers great if you know what to get! My only complaint is a lack of seating in summer. But great food and location makes up for it. Big fan.

If you’re walking around Pike Street market and want to get a bite they have really great gyro salads. I usually get the large with half chicken half beef and get a lot of the white sauce and hot sauce. It’s filling and pretty good definitely worth stopping by.

Awesome lamb heeros(gyros), delicious! Tzaziki was great. Sharing is caring but you might want to get your own. Veggies are fresher than subway’s. A+ on the romaine Napkin dispenser could have been more helpful Fork is a must!

I’m sitting in my hotel room, crying. Super upset. Questioning myself. Why? Why would I only get one gyro? Why did that deliciousness have to end? It was ecstasy. My mouth has never encountered so much goodness. It was AMAZING. Hands down the best lamb gyro ever. GOAT!

Definitely had zero intention of sampling the Greek cuisine of Seattle during my trip, but its divine smell wafting through pike street was nearly irresistible. The gyros here are amazing. I ordered the classic lamb gyro, which involves a large pita(probably the size of a plate) rolled up in a cone shape, filled with meat, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and plenty of tzatziki sauce. This quasi-street vendor(as it is a restaurant lodged into a corner of a wall, without any seating, that serves its fare over the counter) deals out hefty helpings of meats that were savory and juicy. The sauce was also noteworthy as normally I find tzatziki sauce to be sour, but this was more creamy, which more fits my preference. At an economical price of $ 8 a pop, I say purchasing a meal from mr. d’s is a worthwhile endeavor.

3⁄5 If you’re hungry and looking to grab a quick bite at Pike Place, drop by here! Quasi-healthy and food you can eat while you walk around. Remember during the months of May-Sept, it is cruise season, so be prepared to join the crowd at Pike Place! Ordered: Lamb gyro – not bad, but a great snack to share with another person before dinner:)

I have recently decided that lamb gyros are my all-time favorite food. I didn’t realize this until recently because I don’t have gyros all that often. Whenever I do, I realize how much I love them and how utterly amazing they can be. Mr. D’s doesn’t have the BEST gyros in the world, but they are definitely very good. We try to get them often when we are down at Pike Place. They are packed with a good amount of meat, plenty of sauce, and fresh veggies. They are made to order and come out nice and warm. Normally the sauce is distributed quite well throughout the gyro, although the last time or two I have been there it was mostly at the top. I hope this isn’t a change in their way of making them. Prices are pretty much average for the Seattle area. They take plastic, which is awesome as I almost never carry cash. The line can get long, but it moves quickly. Overall, I highly recommend Mr. D’s and will continue to return.

Where the negative reviews come from, I don’t even know. Tried this place out the other day solely for the baklavas they had on display, ended up ordering the chicken and lamb gyro. Maybe we had better luck than some but both gyro cones were brimming with toppings, contained a generous amount of meat, and plenty of sauce. The lamb and chicken were both incredibly flavorful. For the price, I say it’s worth it.

Good food, delicious authentic but a little overpriced for something so simple to make. Friendly and flavorful food at pikes place.

$ 8 including tip for a cone of fluffy pita filled with delicious, not gammy lamb. Very flavorful, and easy to chew. Drizzled perfectly with tzaki sauce and topped with good amounts of veggies. I would like to think this is a perfectly balanced and nutritional lunch. *cough* just one pita for my starch, lots of protein, and got my greens too. haha Great place to go to for a to-go lunch :) Especially on a nice sunny day at Pike Place! Very filling as well. A lot better than the other gyros/fallafel locations close by. The combinations just work here, and the pita is soft.

This 100th review is a long-time coming! A staple in Pike Place Market, Mr. D’s Greek Delicacies is hands-down one of my favorite lunch spots in the area. :) The stand is conveniently located at the split between Post Alley and the main Market road, a few booths down from Ellenos Greek Yogurt and a handful of fruit & veggie stands. If you hit Beecher’s, you’ve gone too far! My coworkers and I try to stop by on the earlier side(a little after 11) to beat the lunch rush and tourists. Each time we visit, we’re welcomed by the friendly owners and staff — this time around, the lady advised us to «take extra napkins» and«be careful to not unwrap it from the bottom», haha! :P I usually choose the lamb gyro, which at $ 8 is reasonably priced, filling and TASTY. If you’re not feeling lamb, they also have other options like falafel, chicken and vegetarian. The gyro itself is a burst of flavor with a variety of ingredients — lettuce, onions, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce, which is made from a blend of yogurt, cucumbers, garlic and more. Also, don’t skimp on the hot sauce! My only question is how do people manage to eat this gyro without making a mess? Sometimes, it’s almost TOO much food to handle. :P Overall, I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at this stand. When my coworkers and I have trouble deciding where to eat, Mr. D’s is an easy, go-to choice!

As you walk through Pike Place, you start to see people holding these cone line structures that remind you of «cone crepes» and you begin to wonder where it’s coming from. Alas, it’s the Greek place at Pike Place. I love the fact that this Mr. D’s specializes in gyros but the kind that is portable and easy to walk around with! Because it’s Pike Place, there are tons of tourists and people constantly walking, and minimal sitting. Eating something that is portable, but filling is definitely a must. Plus, who doesn’t love a little Greek food love? We went with the number 1, lamb gyro. It’s the most popular kind of gyro, so why not? Payment was extremely swift and fast, and our gyro was made to order. We could see them put the lettuce, tomato, slices of lamb and that beautiful tzatziki sauce all over. They roll it up in a nice paper lining, stick a fork in it, and hand it to you as if it were an ice-cream cone. There are some great things going on in this delicacy. If you love gyros, then you will like this. Mr. D’s focuses on minimal ingredients so that each one can shine. I felt that these had less seasoning than the gyro places in University District, but I actually preferred it this way. It didn’t feel heavy or greasy at all. The tzatziki sauce is smothered at the top of the cone, and you think there is only sauce on top, but as you make your way through the gyro, you’ll notice that sauce is actually distributed everywhere. The tomatoes and lettuce are fresh and add that nice crispness to each bite. The slices of lamb are lightly seasoned and don’t feel heavy. Each bite is wonderful! I prefer the sauce here than the ones in University District, and I like the warm and thick pita that holds the entire thing. Whatever lining they use, it doesn’t get greasy and drenched. It’s the perfect little portable gyro. The price is more than what you would pay at University District, the quality I think is better. Light, well seasoned and easy to eat/carry! Not much of a mess at all! Definitely a nice little thing to eat while checking out the other places. We also got a bottled water and the price was less than $ 10. Definitely will come back to try the falafel next!

Amazing gyros and friendly employees! I’m always greeted with a warm smile no matter who is working. I love coming here while doing my super touristy Pike Place walk. I always have to stop and get a gyro! The lamb is amazing but the steak is my absolute favorite. A delicious warm pita filled with tzatziki, onions, lettuce, tomato, and a large helping of meat. The gyros are large enough to share with someone, especially if you are grabbing little tastes throughout Pike Place like I do. It seems authentic and its a nice savoy treat. Yum!

The service did lack a little ! But the gyros were good ! I would say the added a lot more veggies than meat ! But my boyfriend never had them so that’s why I decided to take him here since it was close ! But I would still come back to eat here !

I always pass by this place but finally decided to try it. I usually do not carry cash around with me and for some reason I thought this place would not take plastic but they do. I was able to pay with my Visa and left them some good tips to cover the charges. Price wasn’t too bad but it was by no means«cheap». My gyro was $ 8(including tax). I thought it was appropriate but there are cheaper options at the market if you want to save a few bucks. Service was quick and friendly. Nothing more to that. Food also came out very quickly after I ordered and it was flavorful and fresh. I ordered the Lamb«Yeero» and the meat was so soft and perfectly seasoned and the tzatziki sauce(very generous amount) was spot on. It comes in a cone shape and they give the Gyro to you wrapped in a couple of oil papers with a fork. They stuff a lot of stuff into the gyro so it could have been very messy to eat but the way they serve it makes it much easier to eat. I managed to eat standing up next to the food stand while people watching(and people were also looking at me eating my gyro).

Guter griechischer Wrap. Prall gefüllt, aber mit 8 $ für die kleine Portion ziemlich teuer. Aber klar, Location direkt am Pike Place Market und die Leute stehen trotzdem an. Es gibt die Auswahl zwischen Chicken, Lamb und Steak. Fazit: Kann man schon mal probieren zwischendurch.
