Beef & Lamb Gyro on whole wheat with spicy sauce. Fast, friendly service.

Fast and friendly! I love that they are always so willing to customize the orders– I see a lot of «regulars» here– walk in, a nod from one of the guys working, and away they go! I like the variety of the salads, and the veggie supreme pita is always a winner.

Love this place. The guy that works here or I think he might be the owner, but he’s hella coo tho. He already know waasup when I walk in. He so generous when filling my plate. Shit he probably thinks my skinny ass needs to eat. LOL. The food is good tho, always fresh only sucks that they close at 3.

I get a lamb and beef gyro every time I go here. Great sandwich, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and bonus… great blues music while you wait. Try this place for lunch!

I only order the beef and lamb gyro. They are quite tasty and they really pack a lot of stuff in there. Great for lunch and close to where I work!

RIght across from the Federal Building tucked into the outside north west second floor corner of the Wells Fargo building’s patio in beautiful downtown Seattle. So far, I have had the seasoned beef and lamb and supreme falafel sandwiches on whole wheat pita with fresh tomato, red onion, cucumber and feta cheese Tzatzike, Tahini sauce and a splash of hot sauce. Both sandwiches are very good. Might say it is a Mediterranean Subway Sandwich Shop. The sandwich makers who work there are friendly and helpful and also very fast for those on tight lunch schedules. While you are there, pick up a sandwich stamp card. Buy eight sandwiches and get your ninth for free. My card is filling up fast and I plan to make this one of my regular lunch stops.

This place rocks. Been here probably 5 or 6 times in the last month since I work nearby. Staff is friendly, food is fresh and delicious. This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch! The gyro salad with lamb is my fave. :)

Date of service: Nov 17, 2014 Meal: Lunch, Dine in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 7 Food to Spend Value: 6 Quality of Service: 6 Overall Rating: 6 Pita Xpress is just a block away from my office downtown, and my coworker I was going to lunch with suggested it. Since I had never been before, and a gyro sounded good, I decided to give it a chance, though I will admit I always have trepidation about fast food gyro places. The place is tiny with minimal seating(lots of outdoor seating weather permitting). You go in, tell the guy behind the counter what you want, and he assembles it on the spot, not unlike a fast food sub place. I ordered the regular lamb gyro and also ordered a side of dolmades. The gyro was hearty, tasty, and fresh. It wasn’t top tier, but for fast food it was great. The dolmades were ok but nothing exceptional, and I probably won’t get them again. The nice thing was that I was full by the end of my meal while satiating my whim for a gyro. The prices are quite reasonable, and the food quality is quite good for fast food. The portion sizes are also nice, and they don’t skimp on filling up the gyro, which was nice to see. This is a great spot for a reasonably priced and filling lunch, and given how close it is to my office I am sure I will be back.

Meh. It’s what you’d expect if you’ve every been to any of the various pita-based sandwich chainst. They’re fast, they do phone orders for takeout and prices are reasonable, so it’s not a bad option to have for a quick lunch. You can make it as heavy or light as you want, since you choose the ingredients much like Subway and Pita Pit.

I reviewed this establishment before, when I was working in the building. I have moved to 2nd and Union and this is one of the only places that I make a trip back for. It is always fresh, fast, consistent and extremely tasty. If you are looking for a high quality gyro for about $ 8 out the door, look no further.

I’ve gone into PE a couple of times for lunch. I prefer chicken dishes, and ordered the chicken shwarma. I’m used to real chicken pieces from other places, but instead the chicken had come from one of those gyro rolls. Sorry guys, maybe that works OK for the beef or lamb, but the chicken is not good. The hummus is fine, and the veggies that were part of the plate were okay. I didn’t care much for the rice. Bummer, as the service was good and I wanted to like the place, but the food was a bust.

This place makes food FAST! I’ve had gyros from here and also their combination plate which is the better deal for +$ 3.00 more. The plate comes with meat, rice, hummus, pita bread and a green salad. It’s kind of located in an odd location, sort of in the alley behind the Wells Fargo building! You’ll have to walk halfway down the street past the parking garage entrances. The food itself is pretty good. I’m on the border of whether or not this place is three or four stars, I’m leaning towards 3.5 because it isn’t the best gyro I’ve had but it isn’t horrible either! The meat is legit– it is on a rotisserie and I see meat being carved off from time to time. Their gyro is hard to eat, I usually spill it on myself and the lettuce falls out but that’s not really their fault. Gyros are hard to eat! I’ve had my eye on baklava but will definitely try one next time I stop by!

Good spot to grab a quick lunch if you’re in the mood for some Mediterranean cuisine. I typically come to order their Gyro which is very tasty. They do not skimp on the lamb/beef inside and their assorted veggies have always been fresh and crunchy whenever I’ve gone. Don’t forget to take a punch-card! You can get a punch for any sandwich, plate or salad. 9 of them and you get a freebie!

I’ve been here for the gyros/falafel a few times, and I’ve gotta say I’m not impressed. The staff is nice, but the portions here are small and bland for how much you are paying. They even use the microwave to heat up some of the ingredients. If you have the privilege of eating lunch in downtown Seattle, you owe it to yourself to get some GOOD Mediterranean food. Hint, look on Pike.

I used to really like Pita Xpress in downtown Seattle. I gave them my business, was always very nice and engaging with the employees, never complained… and then got screwed. Pita Xpress offers, what I though was, a great punch card system. You order an entrée, you get a stamp on your card. When you have ten stamps you get a free entrée. Or so I thought… The only thing I get at Pita Xpress is the Lamb & Beef Gyro Salad. It’s great! And the price is reasonable. So, for ten iterations in a row I visited Pita Xpress and bought the Gyro Salad. Each time the same one or two guys helped me. Each time they stamped my card. But when I took my card in for a free Gyro Salad, they told me they couldn’t do it. I asked why and they said that the card is only for sandwiches. WHAT?!? So they stamped my card for 10 salads, never said anything, and then wouldn’t give me the free salad I’d been working toward. This is completely unacceptable. What’s more; when I tried to argue that I was due a salad at no cost, the only consolation they would offer me was $ 3 off my salad. Wait a minute here… let’s do some math. If the card is good for a free sandwich and the value of that sandwich is approximately $ 6, why did I only get $ 3 off my salad? I should have been given the full value of the sandwich toward the cost of my salad. This is not how you treat customers; especially those who provide consistent business. Pita Xpress has lost my business because of this and I probably won’t give it back anytime soon. Poor service, a mistaken order, disproportionate ingredients in a meal… these things are all forgivable and warrant a second chance. Taking money out of my pocket does not.

Not the best gyro I’ve had, but a great place to come for lunch. Whenever I get a gyro from here people ask where I got it and that it looked really good. They then cry into their crappy lunch as I eat with a smile. Like someone said, it is the Subway of Middle Eastern food. They seem to have a system down to make it quick and get you out of there to eat. I wish they had other sides rather than chips. Maybe a side salad or Middle Eastern side. Zipzap Zubidy Bop!

Its a clean, efficient, and friendly establishment. I’ll give them that. If you just want some protein and carbs to stuff into your face as quickly as possible then they’re certainly a perfectly acceptable option. The food… its bland. Its not bad just lacking in taste. This is fast food so that’s hardly surprising.

It’s the Subway of Middle Eastern food. Not great, but does the trick. Punch cards a plus. Friendly service a plus. Food quality and value are the drawbacks. Which, I know, are kind of important.

I saw this place by chance right as I was picking up the fiancé for lunch. It’s literally right across the street from where he works so it was really convenient. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro plate and he ordered the chicken shawarma plate. Each comes with rice, salad, baba ghannouj and pita bread. I really enjoyed mine, it had a good amount of meat, which is always a plus. The fiancé’s chicken meat wasn’t the best, it was kind of spongy. Everything else was decent. If I ever go back, I’ll try their dolmas.

1) Just a block from work. 2) I love this food! Delicious, filling, and generally healthy. 3) Because of its small space, perfect to Grab & Go. 4) Busy lunch hour. They’ve only been open recently and I was met with a line reaching the circular stairs outside the Wells Fargo Tower. 5) Despite the line, the cashier/owner(?) made a quick dash along the line with a neat tray of baklava samples. Nice. No more trekking to the Denny location for me. Yay! :D (Plus, purchase any sandwich, plate, or salad and get a free sandwich the 9th visit; stamp card)
