This place was delicious. I got their seasonal Italian sandwich. They offer half and whole sizes which I really appreciate. Everything here is freshly grown and sustainable. The salami and And tomatoes and peppers on my sandwich were to die for fresh. The multi grain read was moist, flavorful and soft. Not dry, hard and flavorless as you would think with most multi grain breads. They also offer gluten free bread but I can’t attest to that. There was plenty of seating and it had a very modern, cozy vibe. I’ll get lunch there again!

The inside is cold. The people are nice. They no longer carry potato salad in this location which is a bummer.

I absolutely love Homegrown for a great Lunch 1 or 2. Tons of tasty sandwiches and salads with plenty of GF options and top notch ingredients. Pricy for sure, but worth it.

Friendly staff clean environment. Very expensive sandwich it’s not quite worth the price they charge for, very salty chicken(when their Mayo & pesto sauce, and roasted pepper is salty too) $ 11.50+tax= about $ 13 for 6-inch regular sandwich; and $ 7+tax for cheese&ham kid sandwich.

This place looks very nice from outside. I’ve passed by many times and always thought about giving it a try. Finally I went today. The service is nice, but the food selection is less than I anticipated. Anyway, I went ahead and ordered a BLT salad. The greens looks fresh and clean, but overall not impressed. Mel’s Market has way better salad in my opinion. I don’t think I’ll be a regular here.

I visited for lunch. The appearance made me attracted. They have sandwitches, salads, and soups. You can choose from both half and regular size. Food I ordered was really nice. Especially, french bread was great.

I’d give five stars if they had opened on time and if the service were quicker. I very much recommend the egg, bacon, beechers sandwich. The food here is really good

Been here twice. Taken them both to go. A bit on the pricey side for a lunch. This Homegrown is in the Wells Fargo building. I’ve ordered: — turkey cranberry sandwich add avo $ 18 — beet salad with a cup of soup $ 16 You’re paying for the organic food. It’s not bad food. It’s not the most amazing thing I’ve ever had either. Good concept though. You can also order online.

Would be 5 stars but it is very expensive. But a solid sami and good soup.

First impressions: This location felt super open and bright, especially with their large windows. It is located on the corner of Marion and 2nd, in the Wells Fargo plaza. If you are coming from the Wells Fargo building just take the escalator all the way to the bottom, and it will be on your left! The Food: Their menu is pretty straight forward and I decided on the Turkey, Bacon + Avocado(yum!) whole sandwich on French bread. Based on prior reviews, the impression I got was that the half sandwich wasn’t big enough to fill you up. They weren’t wrong. I think the whole sandwich was just big enough to satisfy you, if you are feeling hungry. I also opted to get a pickle on the side($ 1.50), based on another prior review. I did not expect it to be as big as it was. So if you like pickles, you should definitely get it! Overall, I really enjoyed my sandwich. I thought the bread was perfectly toasted, and not overly crunchy. I would definitely come here for lunch again!

I had a half sandwich of the turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich, on gluten-free bread. The half sandwich was definitely enough food! It’s dense so unless you are absolutely famished, get the half. I few nit-picky notes: I wish the bacon was crisper. It was thicker so it was tough/chewy, which made eating the sandwich and taking bites challenging. Gluten-free bread is generally crumbly and dry, and sadly, this was no exception. It definitely fell apart as I ate it. But on pricing, Homegrown was great, as is their sustainable and clean eating ethos. I’m all for supporting that! The taste of the sandwich was good, but some fine tuning on the GF bread would make a big difference, as all the other ingredients were top notch. During the lunch hour, there are a lot of people sitting down and eating, as well as a line(it moves fast). So either go early or do take out. They do have online ordering, so I might do that next time and save time.

Good sandwich, but you’re buying the eco friendly/sustainable image first. Food second. $ 12 is too much for a sandwich, but it is a good sandwich. Value is lacking.

While in town for work I was looking for a quick, good lunch and Homegrown came up in my search. It was hard to find the actual location but once we did we enjoyed our experience. I had the Ham + Beecher’s sandwich with a tomato bisque soup. Both were great. I’d definitely recommend for a good lunch spot in Seattle.

Had the chicken salad sandwich on a toasted baguette, and it was delicious. Big, meaty chunks of chicken in a flavorful dressing with sweet dried cherries. I also recommend a pickle on the side. Not sure if they’re house-made, but they are super salty and flavorful. The sandwiches are good size– a half chicken salad sandwich + pickle is about $ 8 and pretty filling.

I’m not too familiar with this area of Downtown Seattle and have been trying to find new lunch spots. Thanks to the recommendation of my team, I came across Homegrown! :) I was a little confused trying to find the shop at first. If you’re coming from Fourth Ave., you can go through(or around the patio) of the Wells Fargo building and take the escalators down. I only found out because I had a friend show me. :P Such a cute shop! Very clean and bright, I love their bar seating and giant windows. There seems to be a good mix of people eating at Homegrown and taking their orders to-go. If you do decide to take it to-go, they give you a cute, little paper bag for your order. :) My coworker recommended the Turkey, Bacon & Avocado sandwich, which turned out to be SO freakin’ good! As everyone mentions, expect a slightly pricier lunch(think $ 12+). Buuuuuut, I think it’s nice to treat yourself on occasion. ;)

To be really honest: yes, the sandwiches here are really delicious, feature great locally-sourced ingredients, and the portions are what you’d expect. That all being said, the frustrating part is that the prices are rather steep(even for Seattle), and the afternoon service(anything after 3:30) is really lacking. No soup, limited sandwich optiions, and the entire dining room was nearly empty but full of messy tables badly in need of a wipe down and cleaning. Maybe if I’m in this part of town for lunch I’ll try it again, but otherwise, it’s better to assume they closed at 3:00p, not 6:00p.

Came back for the breakfast sandwich, and the half breakfast sandwich was slightly more filling than the chicken pesto half sandwich. I had the avocado + egg + cheese sandwich. It comes with hot sauce, but since I can’t handle spice that much, I asked if I could get it without. The cashier let me know I could substitute garlic aioli instead, which was nice! I thought the breakfast sandwiches would come with English muffins, but they actually use the same bread as the regular sandwiches. I also learned today that they have tea lattes, so I decided to try their organic earl grey latte. I was super surprised when the price came out to be LESSTHAN $ 2! I thought maybe the cashier misheard tea latte for just tea, but it was actually a latte. The person making my latte asked me if I wanted half water/half milk, or all milk. I went with half and half, but I’ll probably try all milk next time, since this latte tastes a little watered down. I asked him if they normally sweeten the drinks, and he said they didn’t, but that he could sweeten it for me. It looked like he just melted a packet of sugar in hot water to make the sweetener. I don’t mind too much, but I do prefer the syrup sweetener most cafes use. This isn’t the best latte I’ve had, but it’s definitely the cheapest latte I’ve ever gotten; most places are about $ 3 – 4. I’m wondering if it was just a pricing goof-up, because it looked like their tea prices were $ 2, and their coffee lattes were $ 3.50+. I really hope not though, because I’m loving their tea latte price!

Holy Bacon, Egg + Beecher’s! I have to admit I was never curious about this place, but it made the 2nd and Marion intersection smell so good this morning that I had to check it out. The warm, jolly lady at the counter greeted me right away, and I asked for breakfast recommendations. She suggested a couple of their most popular sandwiches, and I went for a half Bacon, Egg + Beecher’s sandwich. Per their menu, it’s «nitrate-free» egg, bacon, Beecher’s cheese, and roasted garlic aioli. It’s hard to say no to anything with garlic aioli, and even harder to say no to anything with bacon, even if it was a little on the pricey side($ 4.50/half, $ 9/whole). They served Stumptown Coffee, so I also ordered an Americano for myself and a cappuccino for my beau. A few minutes later, my name was called by a guy in the kitchen, and I walked up to receive the tiny paper bag that contained my breakfast sandwich. The first thing that came out of my mouth was, «Awww, how cute!» He probably thought I was being weird, but I really got a kick out of my cute little brown paper bag. I sniffed on it excitedly, and oh, boy. Sandwich was freaking B.O.M.B. I mean, do you ever feel sad after finishing food you really, really liked because you enjoyed it so much and now it’s not there anymore? I get like that with certain food items, and I definitely got like that with this breakfast sandwich. What’s up with that espresso, though? My Americano was weak and had a sour aftertaste, and boyfriend’s cappuccino was just totally off. Worst we’ve had by far! We’ll skip these next time.

Unilocal tells me that my review is shorter than most so I’ve added all of this filler text in hopes that my haiku is no longer treated as a tip but as a short sweet review. Sandwich was tasty I paid way too much for you Organic food beast

I swung by Homegrown today to grab a quick bite to eat. I liked the way the space was arranged and their décor. I got there a little after 11:30am. There were two lines open, each with one customer. Two people? Doesn’t sound bad at all. It took quite awhile and I was trying to figure out what was the holdup but got distracted thinking about sandwiches. I ordered a half pastrami sandwich. I liked that they had samples of the bread cut up at the counter so you could see how big it was. It looked okay but I should have considered how much(or how little they would put inside the bread). I paid my $ 7.10 before tip and went to wait. The delay at the cashier was the slowest part of the process. That being said, the cashier was friendly, which is always a plus. My sandwich was made quickly. As I picked up my sandwich in a lovely brown paper bag, I noticed where the server’s hand held the bag, there now remained some red sauce that I knew was not in my sandwich. The server was using gloves but I’m unnerved having other messy food on my packaging. It’s sloppy and shows a lack of attention to detail. I was in a rush with a friend that was patiently waiting so I decided to move on and get over it. At least the bag had handles so I could avoid the sauce. The bread was a beautiful color and the texture was sturdy and soft at the same time. The pastrami was warm and the cuts were nice. There were some caramelized onions, 3 pickles, and sauce. Yet, $ 8 later, I was still hungry. I’ll know next time that a full sandwich is required at a higher price point. The sandwich is good but it didn’t blow me away. There are plenty of other places nearby that serve better sandwiches for the correct price point. I understand the concept of Homegrown and the dedication to the ingredients. However, I have too many other options within a mile radius to get so little value for my dollar.
