Mr. West Cafe Bar

Wow, Great Coffee and tried about a dozen different places during our week stay. Clean and open space as well as interesting coffee choices. Would come back for the wine and other food but bar none this was our best coffee.

Seeing pictures on social media was what brought me in to Mr. West, and for good reason too – the décor is impeccable and the ambiance is greaaaat!
My friend and I came on a Thursday night around 6, and it was crowded. Our hostess let us know that Thursday nights tend to be busiest, so we’ll be keeping that in mind for the future. We were seated at the little bar along the window within about 10 minutes, and since we were drinking in the space (and drinking our $ 5 HH wine pours), the time passed quickly.
Having peeked at the menu ahead of time, our plan was to get some HH nibbles if the plates were small and get a full meal elsewhere. Good thing too, since our choices (the cheesemonger board and the meat + pickles board) weren’t big enough to make a dent in our hunger. I can’t remember the specifics of our selection of meats and cheeses as a chacuterie-​newbie, but they certainly were tasty.
We chatted with the hostess at the end of our visit, and she said they might be opening up on Saturdays once the weather gets better! Let’s hope so, since I would love to visit during the daytime not only to try the day menu, but also to see the space flooded in natural light. I will definitely be back!

If you love Bottlehouse (same owners) you’ll love this place! It has a similar approach, wine, cheese and amazing toasts but a more urban feel to the restaurant. As one would expert, wine, cheese and food were all amazing and so was the service! I highly recommend!

I work downtown and am always looking for nice places to eat/​have coffee with co-​workers. The service here was excellent for breakfast, and the food was yummy. Will definitely go back!

The customer service here really shines. I work remotely and spend some time hanging out in coffee shops, and this one has a really great staff.
The location is a little strange — in the lobby of a building — but aside from that, the space is really great and has plenty of good seating and outlets.
The food is interesting and inventive. The coffee is great. I would highly recommend this place.

What a great place for breakfast, lunch, or HH during the week. One of my favorite places in Seattle. I adore the owners, and their staff, and I always have a great time. Yum, yum, yum!

A good place to go with a couple of friends at night. The atmosphere is similar to bww where it’s loud but it’s not loud enough to where you can’t hear the person next to you. Lots of conversations going on. An overall great place to relax with friends or even go on a date.
My fiancé and I ordered the aged cheddar toast, cured salmon toast, and the bacon and avocado toast. The food was delicious and well balanced but it was overpriced for what it is.
Great place to eat and drink though.

I love the atmosphere here, it is such a nice place to sit and enjoy a fabulous glass of wine! They also have really great coffee and breakfast! The service and staff are awesome, Zoe is the best we will definitely be back!

Came here yesterday for lunch. In hindsight, I see it as more a place that I’d work from, rather than to eat. You order at the counter and the food is then brought to your table. The space itself has a ton of light and there were lots of folks with laptops open. Limited non-​meat options for sandwiches. The service seems to be the weak point here. I tried to order the brie baguette sandwich but was informed that they were out (how hard is it to make another one?!). Also ordered the «house shrub» — person ringing me up had no idea what it was that day. First she said huckleberry, then no, basil. What I actually received was huckleberry. It was so strong and tasted so much like vinegar that I couldn’t drink it. The guy who brought out our food asked me how I liked it — I told him that I love shrubs but that this one had way too much vinegar in it. He nodded and said «yeah we’ve been hearing that from other people too.» No offer to remake it or to get me another drink. I’d definitely come back here to get an espresso and work, but probably would not come back for food. I had the grilled cheese sandwich and it was fine but probably wouldn’t get it again.

I was trying to kill time so I checked out this place during happy hour since I was already in the building. It was semi pack but I think alot of the guests were celebrating their holiday parties/​get together. Was able to get seated right away. Thought I seat at the bar to get faster service since I only had a hour. But it didn’t turned out so fast. It took awhile before I was able to get a staff to take my order even though there were several that was already behind the bar. Happy hour menu was small, didn’t think it was happy hour type of prices though. Ordered the charcuterie plate so that I had something to snack on. The service was ok, was expecting better since it was new. Pricey place.

Amazing coffee, friendly staff, fabulous to-​go yogurt options (golden raisins/​avocado/​melon/​honey anyone?!), perfect patisserie and beautiful décor. What’s not to love?

Coffee that is straight out of Melbourne. Some great food to go along with it and a happy hour at 4 – 7. Only negative it isn’t open on the weekend.

I had the best experience here because of Matthew. He was so attentive and catered to our every need. He recommended the bacon, avocado toast and it was to die for. I am so glad that Matthew made our experience so much more fabulous here.

This place has the best avocado toast I’ve ever had. The toast and the best service makes this a great place to unwind after a long day. Mathew has helped us both times… he is so peronable and has made our meals very entertaining. Love this place.

Great find for tasty and reasonably priced for off-​hours happy hour and toast snackage. Warm setting matched by un-​fussy greeting and waitstaff. Good street level view out on to the passing scene.

Wow, this part of town sure needed a great new restaurant for craft-​style coffee, nibbles and wine/​beer cocktails and Mr. West hits the spot. Love the interior décor and vibe, although it gets a little loud at times. Wonderful place to relax out of the rain and watch the world go by. Service was very attentive and personable and food was original and delicious!

Cool location, cool interior design and great window seating to watch the view. Delicious espresso and top-​notch service. This part of downtown has needed a great café for a while and Mr. West fits the bill and then some.

Mr West has the best coffee, fast breakfast foods & customer service. The coffee is so good it didn’t even need any sweetener! With the famous coffee place in Seattle, I always had to use sweetener.
The pastries are amazingly good and the team there is very nice and responsive to one’s needs.
I was their 1^st customer and I’m happy to be able to say that I plan on being a long term customer as well.
I haven’t had a chance to stop after work yet for the wine bar but I surely will soon.
What a great combination, coffee bar in the mornings and beer and wine in the evenings! Now all they need to do is add some hard liquor and they will have an even better place to stop after work!
I highly recommend it.

New café, trendy, wide variety of items, great drink selection (alcoholic and non!) and juice bar connected (not sure if the company is the same). Two LONG walls of windows gives a lot of natural light!
Service is very attentive and friendly. Found out they opened yesterday! They still seemed to be figuring out how to explain things and it was fun knowing they are coming into their own and figuring out what’s best for the area and clientele. I think so far they’ve done a great job and will definitely be back! Will probably raise my rating to five stars once it’s been more proven to please but so far I’m excited to come back!

Brand new spot to get coffee or a drink right across from Hyatt At Olive8. The customer service is great. They have quality wine on tap also which is pretty unique and a different wine tasting experience. Best time to check it out would be during happy hour!
