My dog’s haircut turned out great! friendly staff and they were able to get me in last minute. Will definitely be going back.

Staff are very rude when answering the phone! The lady who answered the phone was very rude, not welcoming at all! Thought about for 5 mins and called back and cancelled appointment with them. Made a horrible first impression. first impressions are everything. Will be going somewhere else.

First off we brought our young cocker spaniel to a different local groomer and I know puppies are rough but the outcome was sub par and lazy. I just took her to muttley crew cuts and I couldn’t be more impressed… Not only did they cut her EXACTLY as I asked, but they were able to handle a 5 month old and execute an amazing cut that is NOT easy with a pup. The service was phenomenal and when I called to check in on her they were more than happy to fill me in on how she was doing and when I could pick her up. I will not be taking my pup anywhere else.

But the customer service I just experienced was so amazing.
Kelly was so helpful in helping me figure out my complicated scheduling situation. She even gave the the name of another company that had later hours, that might fit better for my needs.
I live in CA, but if I lived here, I would definitely want to bring my dog here.

Their care and attention to our dog was excellent. If we still lived in the area, we would take Addy there exclusively. She over it and she is a very skittish dog.

I take both of my dogs who are high energy and need to socialize here on a weekly basis. The owner and her entire team are absolutely animal lovers, listen to and abide by special needs and offer them hours of stimulation throughout the day. The minor downside is it is indoors but the pups get outdoor time with me so it’s not as big of a deal. The hours are great (7AM — 7PM) so a person who is working a long day can feel confident their pups will be well taken care of.
I would highly recommend the daycare to anyone in need of assistance with their 4 legged friends.

We take our two Springers to Muttley Crew. I met Kelly through ESRA, a rescue organization we both volunteer for. Not only do our pups look and feel fabulous, it’s great for them to socialize and play. Always excellent grooming and great care from very experienced dog people.
The best part is, they honestly give their hearts and souls to our dogs. Kelly and her crew have fostered and nursed countless rescue dogs. I know firsthand through working with ESRA that she is ALWAYS there for a dog in need. She has not only groomed hundreds of the Springers that have come into rescue but she’s fostered many of them too. I remember one dog in particular who had been abandoned in a cage in a backyard in Seattle. The owner had moved away 4 months prior. Not only was he terrified but his coat was horribly matted. While she removed the mats and groomed him, (which is usually terrifying and painful for a pup in that situation,) he was licking her face. He got a great home in Eastern Washington where he’s with his people ²⁴⁄₇ and he always rides in the middle.
Thanks so much for all that you’ve done to help so many great dogs and people find each other.

Muttley Crew has been a second home to our 2 (older) dogs. We love it because of the personalized care that they get (e.g., special medicines and diet, etc.) and the fact that it is not so crowded and treated like a «number» at other places like Urban Dog Lounge, etc.
Highly recommend anyone to take their dogs here. They also do various services (nails, grooming, wash, etc) for reasonable rates. All staff members are pet lovers and it shows — they know each dog personally.

Its great to know that my dogs are good hands, great place to get the dog bathed and run around while my busy day doesn’t allow for the exercise they deserve. I’m very loyal to Muttley from West Seattle, and now there great local in Ballard. There schedule is perfect 7am to 7pm drop off and pick up.
Its there passion for dogs, there knowledge of behavior, and great customer service will keep me coming back for years to come.

I wanted to get my lab bathed without going to a chain store. Mutely crew is great! Local business and friendly service. I was greeted and assisted quickly. When I picked up my dog Colby smelled so nice.

but was worried about leaving a new dog in my home while I worked 9 hours. They are so flexible but I called the night before just to make sure.
They allow drop ins which is so nice for last minute events. I bought a 10 pack package of daycare.
My dog and his new canine friend went together and my Friday evening was relaxing thanks to having 2 tired dogs.

We have used Muttley Crew Cuts for past few years after trying several other dog lounges across the city. In short they are the best, and we have very high standards for our 2 dogs. Other places made us feel like we were one of thousands of customers and our dogs would often get stressed out surrounded by hundreds of dogs at a time. Not so at Muttley — they really provide personalized attention including giving special medicine and dietary needs for our older dogs. THe price is very reasonable and worth it for the personalized service that we get and the hours for drop off and pickup are very good

I randomly drove past this place, and didn’t realize it existed in my neighborhood so naturally I was excited that I might have a kennel option close to me. However, I’ve emailed and called the Ballard location and have yet to hear back. I guess they don’t want more business?

I’ve been taking my pups (a Rotti and a Retriever) to Muttley Crew in Ballard since they opened last year and I’ve been very happy with them! When I first started buying larger daycare packages, the packages weren’t priced to accommodate two dogs (the second dog is discounted) and Kelly (the owner) made sure to figure out the pricing and personally call me to show me her math and ask if everything sounded okay. Getting a personal call from a shop’s owner doesn’t happen often and really shows they care about their customers.
Being that I have big dogs and am currently 7 months pregnant, they always make sure to help me out to the car and get the dogs in safely. I don’t even have to ask!
Another thing I really enjoy about this daycare are the extracurricular activities for the dogs — they do holiday/​special event pictures, and recently dog paw print paintings to hang on their walls. They love to show off your dogs as much as you do!
The last thing I want to point out — which was a big deal for me given my dogs’ anxious temperaments — is that their daycare space is tucked away and separate from where the people come in and pay/​check out. At my last daycare, the door opened right into the daycare area which got all the dogs excited (especially mine). Being away from the human entrance doesn’t allow the dogs to get distracted/​anxious/​excited by the comings and goings which has made a big difference in how my dogs behave in daycare.

Well that was weird… I’m not sure how to feel about this place. I just stopped in ten minutes ago and it was super quiet except the radio. It was at 11:30am and I waited for someone to come greet me. Five minutes later I was saying «Hello!?» a few times and walked to the door that said «Employees Only» and kept saying «Hello». Anyways, a dog barked and then I heard someone angrily yell «HEY!» at the dog. Then there was silence and more words I could not make out but it was in a harsh tone. I really thought it would be fun to drop my dogs off here for playtime but I don’t want my dogs treated like that. Wtf???

My dog Yolo loves the daycare here! Yay! He always comes home tired and happy. And happy dog makes for a happy owner. :)

I can’t say enough good things about this place — it’s really been a savior for our puppy with severe separation anxiety. Once we realized Albert couldn’t be left alone at home (even crated) due to the stress it caused him, we were on the hunt for a great doggie day care where we knew he would be safe and happy during the day — and we’re so glad we found Muttley Crew Cuts in Frelard/​Ballard.
Let it be noted that this place isn’t hoity-​toity like some doggie daycare places downtown (no webcams here to watch your puppy play) — but it’s also more reasonably priced, and in our mind, a much better value. Honestly, we like the more relaxed vibe too. Obviously our doxie can’t tell us if he had a great day or not, but he comes home clean, safe, and EXHAUSTED. That tells me that he’s active, playing, and making friends. He’s a little guy (just 12 pounds) — but he seems to like playing with the big boys, and even apparently make friends with a Rottweiler last week! This place seems to have a lot more big dogs than little dogs, but they did just open a small dog play area right off the reception area. It doesn’t matter to us what room Albert’s in, as long as he’s enjoying himself and not alone. I’ve met a few of the big dogs when dropping off or picking up Albert, and they all seem to be friendly and polite (though full of energy, which is why they’re probably at daycare). Anyway, the owner also told me that there’s someone always in the play area with the dogs to monitor «pack behavior» and ensure everyone is playing nice together and safe.

Ultimately, we like that the staff know Albert well and understand his quirks (which are many… typical dachshund!), and they seem to really care about his wellbeing here.
We’ve not used this place for grooming or boarding, so I can’t speak to their service there, but we’re really happy with the daycare experience and will continue to bring Albert for his weekly playtime. Great for him, piece of mind for us!

Unfortunately I can’t send my pups to doggie daycare. They get a little intimidated by the larger dogs when in an enclosed space.
My dogs go to Mutley Crew for grooming. It can be a bit difficult to get in if I don’t plan way ahead but, when my girls are groomed they always look great.

Our fur-​family LOVES Muttley Crew! We were so excited to have a daycare open so close to our village and every experience has been wonderful. Our furby Morton goes almost every Friday and he comes home super tired but happy. For a full spa day, we regularly have him bathed and groomed while he’s there for daycare. I’m fussy about his haircuts and Muttley has always done a perfect job. As a bonus, grooming includes the daycare fees for the day. We’ve also used their boarding services and again, the experience was perfect. They were very helpful with the drop-​off and pick-​up times we needed and I think Morton had as good of vacation as we had.
In my next life, I want to be a pup at Muttley!

I’ve been taking my golden to this doggie daycare once a week. I often have to work late, but each night I pick him up, I notice he is usually with one of the staff, because he is always the last dog to go home. They make sure he is not alone. He loves it there, as it Is spacious with room to run and chase balls. I love it because it’s clean and bright, well organized, and the staff really care. At the last daycare he came home hand shy and nervous. Here, I can tell he is happy and comfortable. Everyone should give Muttley Crew Cutts Daycare a try!

I have been bringing Sampson, my large two-​year-​old mixed-​breed pup, to Ballard Muttley Crew Cuts for over a year now. He had been going to a couple other doggie day care spots before we found Muttley, but he never liked any of them nearly as much. He would sometimes shy away at the door of other places and would come home anxious and smelling like pee. But at Muttley, he always dashes out of the car wagging, and races me to the front door. The folks at Muttley treat Sampson really well, and he is happy to play with his friends all day, chasing the ball or wrestling. They’ve even trained him to drop the ball! He comes home tired, happy, and smelling good, which is just what we’re after.
