Office Depot

Horrible customer service. Bought a few items that I didn’t realize we’re broken. So naturally I went back to see if they had ones that weren’t broken. 15 minutes later they were no closer to actually knowing if they even had an inventory of this item. Not once did they offer me a refund or discount on the broken items. All the manager said was «I’m sorry. It must of been the delivery man.»
I don’t care who messed it up I just want the problem to get fixed!
First and last time customer at this store.

Not much to say other than, A OK.
They had everything you’d imagine an office depot having… nothing more, nothing less.
There weren’t any employees walking around being attentive, i didn’t really need help, but if i had… alas i found my 12 month organizing binder and all was well.
They had what i needed (and cases of water and candy for some reason…)
anywho, basic, classic, OK.

excellent ofice depot. i’ve bought five computers and no end of other stuff tere in twenty year s and alo had some repairs done, although those can be a bit slow when t hey are understaffeedd.

I don’t usually rave about office supply stores, but I have a big rave for this one.
First, it is easy to find things, and when I can’t find it, the staff is always helpful.
The biggest bonus — Pam in the computer section. I recently bought a computer for my daughter. Pam listened and helped me select the best one based on my criteria. Then she suggested I wait as she knew it would go on sale soon and she would call me when it did. The service was so excellent (she did call me — saved me over $ 250) that I also bought a laptop for myself.
A month later my daughter’s computer started having problems. Pam worked with us on each one, and then said to me «You have a bad computer. It was a good choice, but this one was bad out of the box. We’re going to get you a new one.» Which she did — not even the same brand, just a computer that worked better! Who does that?
I’m a huge fan now and will go back for all my tech needs.

I’m surprised to read bad reviews about the customer service and quality of service here. I come here for printing/​scanning and I’ve purchased a router, printer, and misc. office items and electronics. I’ve always been really happy with the excellent service. The employees are quick to give help, knowledgeable about the products, efficient, and easy to get along with.
I don’t think they have the biggest selection of items, but based on product reviews that I’ve researched before buying, they seem to carry stuff that works well and is a good value.
It seems weird giving an Office Depot 5 stars because of the nature of the service, but I have no complaints with this place and will keep coming back here. I suspect the bad reviews are somewhat outdated. It is much nicer than any Kinko’s I’ve ever visited, and far more pleasant than a larger tech electronics store.

Recently bought a printer here. David helped me by going through all the models id be interested in, helping determine what would work best for my needs. happy new owner of a brother printer and appreciative of all his help over the two days it took me to decide.

After an epic two day Walgreens print job fail, I decided to try here. Cara worked with me for almost two hours getting my poster print PERFECT. I brought in a very large file and she was able to use PhotoShop to color out some lines that my .ai to .tif conversion had magically made. We tried two print attempts before she centered it, found the perfect size and changed an ink cartridge because I was picky and found some ink lines. As one of the hardest customers on the planet to please, I am so grateful that Office Depot (Cara) pulled through!

Once I actually found the entrance to this place, which has a separate entrance from UVillage by the way, I was pleasantly surprised by the service that I received here.
It is so nice not to have to chase employees down every time you need help here which is usually what happens when I come into Office Depot. This location is pretty big and they had a pretty big selection. As soon as I walked in, someone asked if I needed help and showed me to the sections and explained some of the selections. While I was browsing my options, another employee came over and asked if I had been helped yet. Great customer service!
The reason for the 3 stars? All Office Depots feel a little grungy to me — and this place is no exception. Office Depots everywhere really need a facelift if they’re going to compete with the likes of Amazon.

If you know what you want and you can get it on your own, then this place is great. If you need help with a poster or computer help STAY AWAY.
I got a laptop here 3 years ago, it got a virus because I was an idiot and didn’t renew my anti virus software. Took it there to get removed, said they got it out. Paid $ 200 for this because I was desperate and had to do homework on it asap.
The virus was not gone, so I took it back for doing the same problem as before, the guy who fixed it said he would look at it again. No sorry, just took it back. 5 days later he calls and said he got it this time and I owe $ 100 for labor, which I refused because he didn’t get it the first time.
Later I got back to get something very simple fixed, a light had gone off and needed to be replaced and it took them 6 days, I repeat 6 days to just get the computer apart because they didn’t know how to take it apart.
I also ordered two posters from here and the edges were frayed and ugly, so I called and they re did the order for free… this time it was worse.
It may be cheap, but you get what you pay for and I wouldn’t recommended this place at all for anything except school supplies.

While I don’t usually need help at office stores as I generally find what I need relatively easily — I was approached by a guy who offered to help with shredders, in case I didn’t know what features I was looking for. Uh, ok, but no thanks.
I selected and paid for a shredder, was offered the ‘chance’ to buy a service plan, and said no thanks, then the guy says bring it back if it breaks. OK, if you have that service, why ding me for a service plan?
So I get home and unpack the shredder, and it’s already got shredded paper in it. Someone returned it used, they put it back on the shelf as new.
Guess what, I’m returning it today. I give up, Office Depot…

Lately things have been getting better. Slowly.

It is a big store.
Sometimes it is difficult to locate the specific item I am looking for and then it is even harder to find employees nearby to ask questions.
Service depends. Sometimes they are friendly and other times they are just not nice.
Parking lot has a 90-​minute limit.

One of the store managers, Michael, was working at the print area when I came by to pick up my postcards. When I realized that they were printed in color and were supposed to be black and white he quickily and warmly adjusted my receipt. I can’t give 5 stars because the parking lot leaves something to be desired; kind of hard to get into and not level as all. I’ll be back for more prints as needed.

Warning: This review contains ranting… it had to happen sometime, right?
I went to Office Depot to pick up a laminating order my boss had dropped off.
They had assured her of the price, the time it would be done, and that they would cut down the plastic so she wouldn’t have to do it. Was any of this done?
NO!
I found the staff and the department manager in the copy area to be inept. Here’s my beef with these people:
1– When I went to pick up the items at the specified time, they were not ready. In fact, they weren’t even started! I take that back, the girl started on one of the items to be laminated by ruining it! She apparently ran out of laminate so she just stopped. Didn’t phone me to say it was going to be delayed or that she had damaged my items.
2– When I asked when it would be ready, they refused to give me an actual time, until i asked F-​O-​U-​R times. For people who had already inconvenienced me, they made no effort to try to assure me that their mistakes would be rectified. NONE.
3– They told my boss the price of the laminate would be $ 1.99 per each of the identical items we had to be. Instead, they meant $ 1.99 per sq. foot… per side. Really? They charge you per side?! How the heck can you laminate only one side? You can’t! This is so unpractical. Just tell people what the price is. So basically it ended up being double what she thought.
4– When I finally went to pay, it took 2 of them 10 minutes to ring it up. Really? Makes no sense. Of course, they took great pains to tell me they weren’t going to charge me for the item they ruined… why thank you! Who cares that now I can’t use it and you’ve cost me more money… what Samaritans you are, Office Depot!
Conclusion: Just go to Staples, Kinkos… anywhere else but here… seriously.

We’re in town for a convention & some shopping — and we had lots of loot to ship home. (Much cheaper than extra suitcases these days!)
I stopped here on a Sunday morning and got very helpful & fairly astute service at the shipping counter from Alex. He was great about my 2 very different parcels. It turned out to be cheaper to send one UPS and the other USPS. I felt bad about causing him extra work, but he cheerfully went about making sure I had everything I needed.

Sometimes I feel like a prisoner of this office depot.
I have never waited in line for less than 5 minutes here even when I was the only one in the store.
One time I waited for 15 minutes behind 3 other people then had 2 people cut in front of me, one old man who obviously didn’t see the line one lady who was «here a minute ago» (obviously she wasn’t here since I had already been waiting). The cashiers who clearly saw both incidents greeted both cutters and proceeded to ring them up while looking at me helplessly as though the phrase «I’m sorry but the line is over there» never occurred to them. I would have stormed out but I needed ink so I waited.
If you live in the area of this office depot avoid it. Plan your office purchases for when you are out of the neighborhood.

The manager at this Office Depot is one who has lost their dreams and has failed at life.
The place is a mess. It’s hard to find what you’re looking for. When you do finally track down the area where your office supplies that you came there for, they only have trash.
In short, my visit to office trash warehouse was a disappointment. I left mostly empty handed and had to order things online.

Service at this story is incredibly slow. It’s difficult to find anyone to help you find something, and if you find someone to ask, they look oddly surprised about the interaction. Check-​out can take a long time, too, as they usually don’t have all of the stations going (even if someone is standing next to one).
The high prices and snail-​like speed at this store makes me miss easy access to Office Max, but I’d have to drive too far to get to one from my apartment. I might have dropped them to one store, but once I manage to find everything, they do always have all the stuff I’m looking for.

I really don’t like this Office Depot, thanks to its mediocre service and prices, but it’s sadly the only choice around here when there’s not enough time for online delivery.
The worst part is that they mark up prices way beyond what’s listed on their own website, so it’s usually a good idea to check the website before going to the store.

Yes, my memory stick was on sale, but I think I’d rather just tell them where to stick it.
I totally agree with the reviews about the staff here: BAD SERVICE SINCE 2006. Quick — — Someone, hand them a You’ve Been Unilocaled! card… (I wish I’d had the presence of mind to do that.)
I came in and waited forever while a male employee was talking to a customer about a rebate. It went on and on and on. In the meantime, no one even made eye contact with me. When a young woman finally arrived, I smiled, happy to see her. My hopes were dashed when she blew me off to pick up a phone that started ringing after she was right in front of me. Again, no one made eye contact, and no one apologized for the long delay.
Finally the MANAGER came. He was a little more civil, but when I left, the alarm went off. He’d forgotten — the manager had forgotten. What is it with this place? After all that, I needed to set off an alarm, so I could feel like a criminal?
And again, no worthy apologies!
