I liked this place for a couple reasons. First, they open early. There is enough parking on the side street early in the morning. Second, the food portion was generous. We ordered the Athenian omelet and we asked for a split which looked to be additional 3 dollars. We both got a full plate of food. The eggs were cooked just fine. The Unilocal reviewers were correct that it wasn’t greasy and that the hashbrowns were excellent. We ordered a side biscuit and side pancake. Now the menu said one pancake but 3 came out. I don’t know if this is because we had the $ 3 split. The pancake was good and the biscuit was huge and tasty. The food was cooked just fine but there just seemed to be something missing in the flavor. It was just on the side of bland. However, the service was quick and friendly. The lady was very nice. I really am torn between the 3 and 4 for this place.

I LOVE Pete’s Egg Nest. the portions are rather large, which I always feel bad about because it really doesn’t take much before I’m full, but it’s so delicious! Every time I have gone here the food has been consistently wonderful, and the prices are awesome for how much you get. It definitely has that family run feel, and the entire staff has always been very friendly. It can be pretty busy at times, but I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. This is by far my boyfriend and my favorite breakfast place close to home!

FOODPOISONING!!! First of all, got food poisoning from undercooked eggs. Second of all, we showed up, were seated and ordered and then notified that the credit card machine was broken so we would have to walk a mile to the nearest ATM. I will never go back.

Everything I’ve had from here has been great! My go to is the bacon, avocado, cheddar omelette! The freest toast is delightful! As are the strawberry waffles! I always try to bring friends here when they visit!

Just in Seattle for some days, discovered this place thanks to Unilocal and my Airbnb hostess. Clean, busy but fast, good ambience and very quick service. Came two days in a row for the Belgian waffle, which was perfect. Hope to come back for more!

Awesome service, great price, huge portions. It’s our first dinner in Seattle and it didn’t disappoint. The coconut French toast was incredible.

It was ok. I had corned beef hash and wasn’t real happy with it. It seemed like maybe it was canned? I’ll try it again possibly but choose something different. The staff was very friendly so that was a plus.

Pete’s is a classic, simple, family diner for your all-American breakfast staples. You really can’t go wrong with most things here, however, if you’re looking for something spectacular, I don’t think this is the place to find it. Tried their pan-sand breakfast(10.45 $ — two pancakes, three eggs, two sausage links) and the veggie benedict(10.95 $ — mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach). While everything had a pleasant lightness to it, there was a lacking in flavor. The pancakes in the pan-sand were not fluffy, and topped with the jam, which tasted like cheap grocery store artificial-sweetener-jam, made for a difficult to swallow plate. The veggie benedict was decent enough, with eggs just done enough to have a small amount of liquidy center. Veggies on the biscuits were fresh and plentiful. I think the benedict could be improved if avocado is added as a standard. The hash browns that came with the benedict were definitely not hash enough and tasted just like regular potato! Did we forget some salt? In an attempt to better my hash experience, ketchup from the table was added… but to my surprise, this ketchup must have been homemade, because it tastes nothing like Heinz or any of the standard brands. It was incredibly and overwhelmingly sweet! What is wrong with the condiments here? Truly confusing, I’ve definitely had better.

This is now our favorite breakfast spot! I got the South of the Border omelette and my husband got the Athenian scramble. Both were delicious and we couldn’t decide which one we liked better. The restaurant is very quirky… small, cramped, definitely family style, and it was a little confusing for a first time visitor. The only downside is the service. The waitress wasn’t friendly and when she set down our water glasses she put them at the opposite end of the table from where we were sitting. Same when she came back with the silverware. But an older gentleman(who I assume was Pete) was extremely warm and engaging and made us feel like family. And the food came out FAST. Like, 5 minutes from ordering. Great prices, great food, okay service… but it’s a family run spot and that’s just part of the charm. We’ll definitely be back.

As a breakfast fanatic, I have to testify that this place pretty much hits on everything that makes for a great experience… not only does the food come out fresh, hot and fast — but the couple that run the place fill it with positive energy, smiles and hugs for the all their regulars(and even us appreciative visitors!) I doubt there is a bad selection on the menu, and the servings are so generous you should seriously consider their shared plate deal for $ 3, unless you like your food coma first thing in the morning. Service was spectular– could not manage to make a dent in my coffee without a server refilling with a smile. There will be a line — for a reason.(It’s worth the wait)

I don’t understand all the 5 star reviews for this place. This is not a 5 star restaurant in the slightest, and they don’t serve 5 star food. What they do serve is your classic, typical American diner fare with some odes to Greece thrown in. They do so without the heart attack inducing levels of grease that most diners(looking at you, Beth’s) depend on to give a mediocre meal a flavor boost, and with what I’m assuming is such consistency that it makes them a regular spot for every senior citizen residing within a 5 mile radius. Their food is obviously fresher, of a marginally better quality, and prepared better than comparative restaurants but not to the extent that I would describe their food as being high quality, and FRESH.(Seriously, what are you guys eating?) The service was… existent. Not really one way or the other. I was here catching up with a friend, so I think maybe they just left us to ourselves. They were accessible when we needed something and fulfilled our requests promptly. Again, I wouldn’t say I received exceptional customer service or anything. Just what one expects when paying for a meal. They were pretty nice about the modifications I made to my order, though. My food was tasty, but nothing out of the park special. Yes, it was a large portion especially for the price. I ended up having leftovers which were only marginally less tasty. Think I ordered one of their eggs benny dishes. The coffee was terrible, which I guess is to be expected, but still not really excusable considering how easy it is to make a decent cup. At the end of the day… it’s a diner. Albeit a slightly better one than most, still just a diner. Nothing extraordinary about it. I’d eat here again over some other places, but North Star is only a few blocks up and has better food, atmosphere, and more memorable customer service… so I’d probably just eat there.

I’ve been to family run places plenty of times in my life, but this is the only place I’ve seen where its truly the heart of what makes a place great. Don’t get me wrong, the food(I got a Scramble) is supremely excellent. But the owner, Pete, took the time to talk to us, make jokes, and complain to us about pretentious customers. He playfully argued with(presumably) his wife and he and the staff worked flawlessly to get our food out in a timely manner. The place was loaded with authentic personality(A Greek Diner?). The place was packed but we got seated quickly(be sure to add your own name to the wait list).

I came here with my dad, in hopes a scramble could cure my mild hangover. We walked in and the place was packed. There isn’t a greeter, but I noticed a list of names by the door. Wrote mine down. After a 15-minute wait we were seated at the bar. A hot chocolate for me and coffee for pops, we scanned the menu and people watched. The owners hustled to fill orders while taking time to interact with customers. Everything on the menu looked delish. I scored on the Athenian Greek Scramble and my dad ordered Breakfast on a Biscuit. My meal was loaded with gyro meat, feta and homemade tzatziki sauce. Sooooooo good. Aside from a quick photo, I didn’t look at my dad’s dish. I was too busy inhaling my scramble. Pete’s is within walking distance to my house, so you can bet I’ll be back. Maybe I’ll leave the hangover at home next time.

After waiting half the time we expected to wait on sight of the line, we got sat in what I thought would be the worst seat in the restaurant, right by the kitchen. However, this area was no louder than the rest of the place and I appreciated the relative privacy. Service was great, and the food was quite good. The meal didn’t have any attribute that made it stand far apart from other breakfast places, so I’m going to stick with four stars. The woman who runs the place is wonderful, however, and she made breakfast perfect for us. We got the butterscotch french toast and NY scramble. I wish there had been more sauerkraut in the scramble, but it was good anyway. Serving size was ample, that’s for sure; we were full by the time we left. Call ahead to order if you know what you want and want it when you get there(you can take a paper menu with you when you leave).

Pete’s is a fairly standard neighborhood café that serves decent comfort food. I think the proprietors might be Greek, because the establishment had a Greek’iness about it. When we walked in there were a few groups deep in conversation, but plenty of seating was available. I got the sense that it was the type of place locals visit every day. While we were eating, a SPD Officer came in and sat down at a table near the kitchen where a few employees(or owners) were seated. They might serve breakfast until they close, because we arrived fairly late and were able to order some eggs. My friend had one good cup of coffee and one bad cup of coffee, but she really enjoyed her French toast… and side of hash browns. I ordered water which was delicious, because I have grown accustomed to the crap they give you in Arizona. To go with my water, I went with my usual eggs, sausages, hash browns and pancakes. I have no criticisms. The service was attentive and adequate and the food was delightfully predictable. No surprises is a good thing. If I was in the area again, I would definitely go back to Pete’s.

So we can steam on the way to the telly, go fill my belly/T-bone steak, cheese eggs and Welch’s grape RIP Biggie. I got the New York Scramble, close enough right? Pete’s is a cute mom n pop joint located in Greenwood. Family owned and operated. Even though it was Easter Sunday, service was fast and efficient. Seated, orders entered, and food arrived in less than 12 minutes. Instant gratification ya feel. Solid, hearty, breakfast/comfort food. Hashbrowns on fleek. Just don’t expect anything too fancy. Felt like our belgian waffle was a little undercooked but its all g, everything else was great. Reason’s why you should hit up Pete’s 1.) Owners/staff are really friendly and attentive 2.) Huge portions 3.) Fresh ingredients 4.) Not heavy/greasy like most diners 5.) Did not reek of food after leaving the restaurant 6.) Support local businesses

Pete’s is a dependable breakfast joint. Not too fancy, but is plenty comfortable. Got your usual suspects as far as menu items go. Their omelettes and scrambles are really good: generous portions loaded with tasty ingredients. As with eggs benedicts, if that’s your thing. Be warned pancakes are on the rubbery side. So if you like soft fluffy pancakes, skip ‘em. Go early so you don’t need to wait. But it’s pretty quick turnover if you do end up in a queue. Next time you’re craving brunch, give Pete’s a try.

It would be hard to find a restaurant that serves bigger portions. I have the chorizo benedict and got 3 meals out of it. It was ridiculous. I think my leftover bag weighed 2 lbs. Now you’re not getting a gourmet breakfast here. You won’t be drinking coffee pinky out. But you will be getting tasty diner food in a relaxed environment. We had to wait a long time to get someone to give us coffee refills. The food was good. I would go back! Kid-friendly.
