Great Chowders, but generic none the less. 4 stars for taste, but 3 stars for the selection of food. The Po Boys were bland and thrown together with little thought. Don’t wait in the line for this location, head to the location in the mall!

This is located on the top floor of the Pacific Place shopping mall. The new england clam chowder is undeniably delicious. It’s the clear winner for me, but the manhattan clam chowder is delish as well. i like the seafood bisque, but a little too salty. The corn and chicken chowder was fine, but I’m biased towards seafood. I love their sampler. Get it if you are feeling undecided. It’s $ 1 off with a Unilocal check-in. Chowders also come with two pieces of sourdough bread and you grab your own packets of oyster crackers. Service is really slow and orders get mixed up. But it beats waiting in the Pikes Place location. Was not consistent in filling the chowder cups to the same level. The pacific cod tacos were good. Served on soft tortilla and come with chips and salsa too. Happy hour prices are great.

I’m definitely giving this 4 stars for flavors in every bite. The sampler is my favorite and the bowls aren’t small. Also great Sourdough bread.

Nothing special. Chowder sampler was a good deal with four 5oz choices of chowders. The chowders were a bit too salty.

Had the New England Clam Chowder and have to admit it can hang with a bowl from Boston. Great stuff. Wasn’t a huge fan of the seafood roll, particularly with the roll. It’s something about not having a grilled, buttery bun. Overall, worth the big lines.

In Seattle your first stop is Pikes Place or Market. But with limited time and no way to get around but walk, you find yourself at Pacific Place. Lo and behold, the chowder place is on the fourth floor by the AMC theatre. Of course we’ve got to try this place, we’ve read about it, heard about it and now we see it first hand. So lucky we were between crowds. Ordering was not as easy as it seems because they do have a lot to offer. The young lady behind the counter was nice and helpful and made several suggestions. We ended ordering cups of the New England Chowder, a piece of sourdough bread, the homemade potato chips, fish and chips, and side of Caesar Salad with croutons and their«never ending beverages». We found seats outside the small restaurant and waited for the food to come. It took just minutes as much of the chowders, the chips(both kinds) and even the salad had been pre-made. The fish was battered well and fries was average, not a wow factor, but still tasty. We were missing a piece of that Seattle sourdough bread and had to ask for it. The chowders were soupy and creamy, lots of potato and veggies, but I was wanting to chew on some clams. Perhaps my mind was somewhere else and I just could not rate this as the best chowder ever! What was realllllly good was the Caesar Salad. fresh, cold, shaved Parmesan cheesy, crumbly croutons, well seasoned dressing and a big heap of chopped greens. We may come back and try their rolls on future trips to Seattle.

Signature new England chowder was delicious and would recommend i had the lobster roll which to me was ok. Didnt love it maybe as the bread here seems to be sweeter than in australia. Service excellent and order came out quick. Would be nice if they had booths for seating or a more private area as i think this food needs to have a more up market dinning experience. I would however come again!

I didn’t know what to expect here. It’s in a shopping mall, after all. I wanted to try the New England Clam Chowder, but Pike Place Chowder creates it with bacon. This location(Pacific Place) only has 4 chowders per day(although the rest of their menu is more extensive than their Post Alley sister. I decided on the Seafood Bisque. This bisque far exceeded my expectations. It was hot, hearty, and so very flavorful. The various bits of seafood were very delicious as well. I have new respect for chowder.

I went for lunch to this outpost of the chowder place at Pike market. They have some nice lunch combos, including a sandwich, soup and drink. I chose half a lobster roll and a seafood chowder. The lobster roll was good, the filling to bun ratio was decent but taste wise it was slightly bland. The seafood chowder on the other hand was wonderful! It’s a tomato base with big chunks of fish and clams in it that were absolutely delicious. So overall it’s definitely worth checking out and for Seattle it’s also not too expensive.

This place is pretty darned good. This was on my to-do list for my visit to the area. I’d walked by the Post Alley location a couple of times, and I just wasn’t hungry when I did. Besides, the crowds were driving me out of the place. I was pleased to find the second location in a shopping mall not too far from the post alley location. Bonus: they stay open later and have a happy hour. I walked over there, it’s on the 4th floor of the mall and they have plenty of seating. Went during happy hour time so the chowders were less expensive. As much as I love clam chowder, I opted for the seafood chowder. The other seafood I’d had in the area was really good and fresh. I didn’t regret my choice. It was chock full of seafood and full of flavor. The 8 oz cup looks small, but it’s mighty. It’s filling. You get a slice of sourdough with it as well. There’s also oyster crackers available. The other food looked pretty good, but I couldn’t eat all that. I noticed lots of people ordering the clam strips and the rolls. Whether or not they’re worth their price, I have no idea. Now, where can I get a can of this stuff for home?

Pike Place Chowder was on my to do list while I visited the city over the weekend. They have two locations, the one in Post Alley at Pike Place Market or this one. Do yourself a favor, take the little walk and go to this one. This location isn’t hectic and crowded, there’s plenty of seating, they’re open later, and they have a «happy hour» menu. I ordered the chowder of the day, which was Smoked Salmon, and the wife ordered the Seafood Chowder. We also ordered a couple of oyster shooters. We wanted to try the chowder fries and a crab roll, but our bellies just aren’t that big. The Smoked Salmon Chowder was good, almost like eating lox and bagels. The seafood chowder was good as well. I’m sure the chowder fries would have been delicious. We came on a Sunday evening at about 5:30 pm, and there was no line.

Review 64⁄366 Pike Place Chowder is one of those places that’s always on the Seattle«Must Eat» lists. The original Pike Place Chowder is located in Post Alley at Pike Place Market, but… the lines are usually long AND they close early. So, if you still want to try the chowder, don’t care too much about the ambience, and don’t want to wait in line, head south a few blocks to Pacific Place mall, go up to the 4th floor(food court), and pick up a bowl of piping hot chowder. The chowders here are full of salty deliciousness. The chowders are thick, rich, and creamy. My friends and I ordered 2 medium cups(no bread bowls for us!)– 1 original and 1 smoked salmon. Both were great, the salmon’s a bit more salty than the original(probably because smoked salmon is already pretty salty to begin with). So I recommend you mix in some tabasco sauce into the original chowder. It adds a little more depth and complexity to your chowder– but more importantly, it helps cut through the creaminess and richness of the chowder. Even though I’m a fan and really enjoyed the chowder here– this was only my 3rd time here(I went twice during my year in Seattle, and this past weekend on a trip back up 5 years later). The thought of 12oz of cream sitting in my stomach doesn’t sound too appealing – nor would it feel all that great.

Hands down, the best clam chowder I ever had. I’ve had Pike’s before at the main location near the market. The chowder is soooo flavorful and creamy! My favorite is their award winning New England chowder. I had it in a bread bowl. The sourdough bread is also good and goes well with the chowder. If you’re in Seattle, this place is must! Their lobster/crab rolls are also good! Their main location was closed so we came here. All in all, same great food! Also, it’s nice to tour and walk around here.

For a place in a mall food court they make some good food! I saw the reviews and actually took clients here for a quick lunch since were were across the street. I was expecting it to be more of a sit-down type place so as we walked up I was a bit hesitant but pressed on. Once we got our food though, all doubts disappeared. The clam chowder was excellent, probably in my personal top 3 or so. My clients had a variety of poor boy sandwiches and a lobster roll. Everyone left satisfied and smiling. I had to go with the NE clam chowder because that’s my go to soup to judge a place by, but I will definitely be back to try one of their samplers where you get 4 kinds of chowder! Heck yeah!

Lobster Roll — 7⁄10. Nothing to call home and tell your friends about. New England Clam Chowder — 7⁄10. Call your mom to remind her you love her and are thinking of her. But don’t mention the chowder, because you don’t need to.

I hear this place is pretty famous in Seattle so I was happy to find they had a much less visited outlet at the mall near my hotel. I tried one of their samplers which has a $ 1 off coupon on Unilocal. Can’t say I was blown away by anything but the soups were tasty. My favorite was actually the seafood bisque. The clam chowder was ok… but slightly too think in my opinion. The corn chowder was also pretty good. Can’t say I’ll be back here(even if Im in town). On the plus side Din Tai Feng is opening up next door!

Both the New England clam chowder and the seafood bisque were delicious! Chunky. Great quality seafood. Extra creamy. Whatever if I’m lactose intolerant– the creamy goodness was worth it! The lobster roll was also good, though I’m a bit biased, as I tend to prefer the warm, buttery, toasted rolls to the cold, lobster salad version. However… The lobster was PERFECT and it was not drowning in mayo or other toppings like some places do. Tons of lobster, celery and a bit of shredded lettuce… definitely NOT complaining ;) The roll was a bit too thick for my liking though(I prefer a more equal bread to lobster ratio). Overall, this place was a wonderful find! Randomly located on the top floor of a mall, but not chain-restauranty at all. Avoided the crazy hustle of the market and had a super mellow lunch with YUMMY food! I’ll definitely be back.

This is really good chowder place. On my top Chowder list that is for sure. I am glad they have one in the Pacific Place mall. I actually went to the one near Pike Place and we had trouble getting a seat. What had happened was my mom complained that their customers had long legs and they would step over objects to get the table before she could walk over(meaning around) for the table and that means she will never get a seat. Problem: when you are not quick for a table. Also I love the hours of this place. They open late unlike the one near Pike place that closes at 5:00 pm. This one at Pacific Place Mall is totally different. Same Chowder but the best part is that its indoor meaning covered and lot more tables and seats available. Service wise is the same with the other one. Super friendly service. the kitchen is open concept. You basically see everything. So It very clean. I love this place. I got the 4 sampler chowder for $ 11.95(regular $ 12.95 plus $ 1 off if you check in on Unilocal). I got the clam chowder, seafood bisque, seafood chowder which is the daily special and the chicken noodle corn chowder. I loved all of them. But my favorite is the Seafood bisque and clam chowder. On top of that we also got the fish and chips(the cod option). I think what makes this place stand out is the freshness of their ingredient. Fresh Fresh Fresh. I am definitely comping back and highly recommend this place to my friends and relative. There is a reason why they got number 1 for every year in the Chowder competition.

My aunt and uncle pointed out this Pike Place Chowder to me the other week, saying it’s the same one as the Pike’s Place one in Post Alley minus the line. So I swung by last night to grab a quick dinner here. I did not realize they had happy hour until after I ordered. Only this spot does. Happy hour menu looked good too, I will have to order off it next time. I ordered: — ½ lobster roll combo with an 8 oz clam chowder and a side of fries — $ 18 or so I actually was not too impressed with their lobster roll. It’s served cold on a sourdough roll, lobster mixed with celery. I did enjoy the clam chowder though! it was delicious. And their french fries are good here too. Located on the top floor of the mall!

Found this hidden gem on our last day in Seattle. Annnnnnd it just happened to be literally across the street from our hotel –______– Tastes just as great as the original location. Less crowded. More seating. Cleaner and indoors. 10 stars across the board! They have more on their menu at this location. Free refills on the fountain drinks. The staff offered free samples of any of their chowders but we respectfully declined. Now we know where to go when we want Pike Place Chowder :)
