I usually roll my eyes at places like this. You walk in and it’s super Seattle. The building used to be occupied by a taxidermist, but now it’s all dimly lit and has modern art on the walls. Full of hipsters, expensive, small portion, most people appear to be on first dates, slightly dressier than just«casual.» Make sense? My visiting friend picked the place out, so I had to be nice and go. But you know, it was actually really awesome. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. It was kind of awkward to wait because there isn’t a good place to wait inside. There’s no room. I suppose we could have gone to the bar in the back(looked pretty nice!). There was also a courtyard outside, but it was raining and chilly, so we just awkwardly stood by the door. Food was excellent! Like soooo good. 5⁄5. I had the lemongrass beef noodle dish. I am still thinking about it a week later. The dishes are served family style, so I had some of my friend’s as well. I can’t remember what the two of them got. One was a vegetarian dish and the other had ribs? We also got kimchi, which was good. As expected, the place was expensive($ 20 for noodles and 1⁄3 order of kimchi) but I wasn’t even mad because it was so delicious.

Loved everything about this place. It’s an inviting open kitchen atmosphere. Everyone greeted us with a smile and the servers were very attentive. If you want you can sit at the kitchen side counter and watch the chefs cook, or enjoy a table in the dining area. The food was full of flavor, and seasoned perfectly. I suggest ordering family style so you can try a few different things. We ordered five dishes for 4 people, and felt full and but still able to order something sweet.

This was my second visit, and I both kind of like and kind of abhor places like this. Maybe because I’m kind of an Asian food purist? I had the pork katsu for brunch, and it was pretty satisfying overall. The gravy was a bit heavy, and the biscuits I found a tad dry, but the pork itself was great. I also had a bite of the monkey bread, which was incredible. I’d visit again, but probably gravitate toward the less«fusion”-y stuff.

Only reason they don’t get a 5 star is the long wait times and limited number of reservations. The food and drink were simply to die for, I had the crab noodles and they left me wanting another order all to myself. Mark this in your«must» list, it’s worth the wait! It’s hard to fault them for being busy, but another arrangement then 2 reservations a night might be a good choice.

So I gave this place a 3 even though I may not be a huge fan of it because everyone else in my party thinks its hands down wonderful and a solid 5. I, on the other hand, have a different opinion and that’s probably because I’m a vegetarian who wasn’t super impressed with her meal. We waited 2 hours. Yes, you read that right, TWOHOURS. Not the it’ll be 2 hours and it’s only an hour wait, a full two hours. I do not think this place is worth the 2 hours and you could probably go somewhere else with a quicker wait. The bartender was super nice and kept checking on where were at in the list and everyone loved their drinks. They basically tried every drink on that menu while we waited. The house made soda, blackberry, was amazing. We finally got sat, two hours later. Ordered a ton of food and my party was super happy with it. They loved the lemon grass beef noodles, pork belly pancake, short rib rice bowl, and the tuna rice bowl. They said everything was cooked perfectly. I ordered the vegetarian dumplings and the cauliflower rice bowl. The vegetarian rice bowl was pretty good, maybe I just wasn’t that into it because my +1 thought it was amazing too. I don’t like spicy that much and it was spicy, for me, the cauliflower was cold(threw me off) but it was good, the kale was charred very nicely; and I was a fan of the mushrooms. The dumplings came out when I was already almost full so I wasn’t really into it, my +1, again loved it. I average it on 3 because I was ehhh whereas everyone else was YAY. So, I think if you’re a meat eater this place is hands down a place to visit if the line isn’t too crazy. For vegetarians, I think there are some options, but I think there are better places for you to go and not have to wait as long.

I was looking forward trying this place and I can say I’m not disappointed! The food was amazing, the place was hip and trendy, the sauce jars are clean(and I believe they clean the jars after each use), and the food is amazing(but I already said that)! This place is worth it! And the price is reasonable! Enjoy!

I was really disappointed walking into this place. I came with high expectations and ultimately decided to leave after about five minutes of waiting to be seated because the host up front was extremely aloof and careless. I was with a party of four and he neither greeted us, nor showed any sense of urgency in getting us situated. After we asked him how long the wait was, he said approximately 15 minutes and asked if he could seat us by the bar, to which we were perfectly okay with. Shortly after that, another party came in through the door and due to a lack of communication, another hostess seated them before us at the only available space at the bar. Thus, we left and never got to try this place out and took our money and appetites elsewhere.

Revel was pretty exactly what I expected Korean American fusion to be. This place actually reminded me a lot of Parachute in Chicago which is a super up and coming restaurant as well. We got the pancake with smoked cod, curry remoulade, and new potato. Not sure what a ‘new potato’ is but it’s nice that you definitely get a hint of both the cod and the curry. The pancake is similar to a Chinese green onion pancake. We also tried the short rib rice bowl and though the meat was good, I wasn’t a fan of the mustard greens since it didn’t fit with the rice dish at all. Of all the veggies out there… why choose the mustard greens? Also note that the daikon was fairly spicy and I’m a fairly medium spice eater. Overall I really thought the dishes we got were just okay. Nothing was particularly wonderful or good enough to make me want to return but nothing was awful either. To note: Asian fusion is never really my thing and I think it takes a lot for it to be done well, especially since Asian by itself is too delicious and thus really hard to surpass. There were also zero Asian people in the packed restaurant besides for my friend and me… so that was definitely an indicator too.

A hip Asian-fusion joint, WA’s attempt at Roy Choi but not nearly as good. First, I was annoyed that they refused to seat until everyone in the party was present, even when I said my friend was coming in 15 minutes. This resulted in having to sit at the patio when it was raining and cold. The service was also rather slow outside. Next, the rice bowl was completely forgettable. I had some kind of beef kimchi rice bowl and it wasn’t that great. The ingredients fell flat as the bowl just turned out to be a mess. The beef was chewy rather than moist, and the array of vegetables all seemed wilted. The flavors didn’t really mesh, and for a $ 15 bowl I was still hungry. I tried some of my friend’s tuna and it was good, but the rest of the dish was similar to mine in terms of lack of balance and he didn’t even finish his bowl. I guess Asian-fusion is just better in CA.

Visiting from out of town. found this restaurant after googling where to eat in Seattle. Was empty at noon on Black Friday. Should’ve been our first red flag. Second it was freezing inside… When we left it wasn’t much warmer. Food was below average, overpriced and too small of portions. Service was super slow and not knowledgeable about their own menu. It’s a drive from downtown. Would not return. Ugh we should’ve turned around when we first got there.

This is a unique place to eat. You won’t find food like this elsewhere. I’m not a korean food connoseiur so I’m not complaining about the weird fusion-ness that other people on here seem to have a problem with. I ordered a tuna bowl and my boyfriend ordered one of the pancake things… which is a loss less food than it seems. The bowl was fine but my food wasn’t hot. The rice felt like it’d been sitting out for a while(chunky), and the veggies were luke warm. We were eating an early dinner at 4:30pm with nobody in the restaurant so this seemed weird. Main reason I knock 2 stars off is because the service was off putting. The hostess first stuck us in a corner all by ourselves… away from everyone else in the restaurant(there were only about 8 people there when we got there). Then when we asked to move she got all crabby about it and told us we had to sit right up against the hostess table because that’s how they seat guests. So we ate our entire meal basically with her standing right there. It’s sorta hipster snobby kinda feel. But some people are into that I suppose.

I’ll start by saying that I don’t like Korean food and I usually don’t like Asian fusion cuisine but I did enjoy my meal here. The wait was a little over an hour for three on a Saturday night but they take your number so you’re free to hit the bars nearby while you wait. Between three girls, we ordered five dishes which was more than enough. –The salad with oyster mushrooms was tasty and refreshing. –The Korean pancake with pork belly was pretty good but pretty basic, it’s similar to what you would get if you ordered it at an authentic Korean restaurant –the short rib dumplings were one of my favorites. Super fatty meat filling and pan fried… Yum –The kale/cauliflower/rice bowl had great flavors and a bunch of great textures, and it was generously portioned –the lemongrass beef noodles were another one of my faves; they were Vietnamese style and the egg noodles were perfectly al dente. Delicious Everything was affordable and I left feeling more than satisfied, but I don’t know that I’m necessarily yearning to come back since nothing really blew my mind

Decided to give Revel another try and was quite pleased. Instead of going with the more traditional«Korean Style» menu items, I ordered the corned lamb salad, short rib dumplings and dungeness crab curry pasta on the waiter’s recommendation. I’ve never had corned lamb, but it’s amazing. Just like corned beef, but with lamb. The vinaigrette dressing was light and refreshing. Nothing about the salad said«Asian» to me, but it was very good. The short rib dumplings are so good I had to order again. The best dish was the crab pasta. Perfectly cooked fresh pasta in a a delicate/sweet curry sauce with crab. I wanted to drink the sauce, it was that good. This is the dish to get.

Must order the Crab Noodle dish. We ordered a few others(kimchi pancake, dumplings, shortrib rice bowl), everything was on the salty side. Very flavorful but I felt like I needed a huge bowl of rice to eat with it all. The one stand-out dish was definitely the Crab Noodles!

I was so excited to eat here after reading all the great reviews. I walked in and loved the ambiance of the restaurant. I also really loved that they had a heated patio! I ordered the short rib rice bowl and split the short rib dumplings with the boyfriend. Rating them individually, I’d give the rice bowl a 2 and the dumpling a 5. I thought the rice bowl was lacking in both seasoning and real flavor. The rice was very bland, and the samba daikon would be far more enjoyable in smaller bites. The mustard greens did very little to enhance the flavor profile of the dish — more like a large garnish than anything. The rib meat itself was tender and delicious — the only redeeming quality to the bowl in my opinion. The dumplings, though. Man. I wish I just ordered those as my meal. They were succulent, flavorful, tender — just pure deliciousness. They were the best part of the meal, by far — well worth the additional wait for them to cook.

Food is pretty solid here, but I wasn’t wowed by any of the dishes we ordered. My boyfriend and I ordered the following: Pork belly and kimchi pancake(4⁄5) — good flavors and it went well together with the right amount of kimchi. I loved trying all their house made sauces with the pancake. Rice short rib bowl(3⁄5) — This was my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn’t bad, but they could have done a lot more with the dish. The short rib was incredibly tender and I I wish they gave more! This dish reminds me of bibimbap, but it had WAY too much rice and i wish they served the dish in hot stone bowl so the rice could be crispy. Dungeness crab noodles(4⁄5) — This dish was very good and the noodles were el dente. There was plenty of crab meat and the curry flavor was good. I did think the dish was tad on the salty side though.

This was on my bookmarks and since I was in the area, decided to drop by and check it out. I came during a late lunch hour, so it wasn’t too busy. It has a very hipster vibe, like most restaurants in Seattle. It has an open kitchen, so you can totally see the chefs cooking and preparing your food. Decided to get the short rib rice bowl with samba daikon, mustard greens and egg yolk. It was so delicious! The meat was cooked medium rare and was so juicy! There were different sauces that you could add-nuoc mam(fish sauce), soy sauce, siracha, and some sort of bean paste. I just added a little bit everything and mixed it in the bowl. I would definitely come back just to eat this again!

This place is one of my favorites around seattle. They have excellent korean fusion dishes; it’s delicious and unique. Great atmosphere; modern and really clean. Price for each dish is around $ 10 – 16. Lamb salad– great starter! I usually do not like arugulla, but the dressing and the lamb made it way better. The corned lamb did not taste gamey at all. Shortrib dumplings– one of the best I ever tasted, hard to go wrong with short ribs. Pork belly kimchi pancake– the most unique one. I never would have thought that this combination with pancake would work, but it does. It just had thr right amount of kimchi that it does not overwhelm the rest. Dungeness crab noodles– easily my favorite from the restaurant. It is amazing– good amount of crab, noodles were cooked perfectly and had its own flavors, the sauce just pops with sweetness, and a little bit of spice to it. The dishes are pricey for the amount you get, and service can definitley improve. For some reason the service was slow, and it was hard to get the waiters attention, like i am invisible. I came when it was not crowded… if it was not for the amazing food i would rate this place lower.

We were looking for Korean, or Kbbq and found Revel on Unilocal.Glad we did. As we reviewed the menu we got good advice from our waiter and started out with some beverages. Lazy gardener with cucumber, mint and gin was a hit. Chauncey Gardener liked to watch, Lazy to drink. Our waiter advised 4 – 6 dishes for our group. Amateur! We wound up with 7, and what a selection. Mizuna salad with corned lamb and radishes and a nuoc cham dressing was tasty but a bit salty and the chiles overpowered the other flavors. Taro pancake was a sweet item, and could have been dessert. Moo shu pork and wood ear mushroom dumplings vied for honors as our groups favorite dish. Dungeness crab noodles have been reviewed before and have rightly earned their fame. They feature freshly made cilantro noodles with a gingery sauce, and yes, that crab. I heard«Oh my god!» a lot when we shared this dish, and that was exciting. Rice bowl with short ribs and BBQ pork from the grill shack filled out our menu along with some pickled daikon. Good service, good food, good atmosphere, good company. At Revel it’s all good.

I would categorize Revel as modern Korean fusion, which I don’t usually go for, but turned out really well. I recommend sitting at the counter so you can see all the action. Dishes are great for sharing — that way you get to have a little of everything. Short rib dumplings: pretty good. They’re pretty big and is basically all meet on the inside. The shallot and onions are good garnishes. Lemongrass beef + Dungeness crab noodles: both noodle dishes were good. I highly recommend both. The beef had a great broth and was very flavorful. The dungeness crab had the most interesting noodles — they had nori in them. The red curry broth was good too. I saw some of the rice bowls being made and they looked delicious. Highly recommend as well.
