I picked out 5 prints from Richards, and had 4 of them custom-​framed by them. They are a set that go-​together. One of them was put in upside down and of course its covered with black paper on the back and a hanging wire is screwed in so now that I’m home and have noticed it, its a pain to have to fix, especially since the screws are non-​traditional.
Also — I never received a phone call that my order was complete. I’m the one who called to check-​in.
Richard’s wife, Irena, helped me out when I put in my order and she was helpful.
I find their prices to be on the expensive side, but it IS custom-​framing, and for that you pay a pretty penny.

The company I work for turns to Richard’s Artistic framing for every project! We would never go anywhere else. The service and quality is unmatched. Not to mention, they get things done quickly too.
You should absolutely give them a call if you have a framing project that needs to be tackled!

I had the same project done at Richard’s and a small frame shop near my office (mounting some large photos). Richard’s was half the price and twice the pleasure. They are possibly not bargain or cheapest option but I trust them completely to be honest, respect my budget and do things well. It is a husband /​wife team and they are delightful. Today she helped me pick a pre-​made frame and even offered to put my painting in it for free. Her wonderful eye helped me select a lovely frame for the piece. Highly recommended

I’ve had Richard’s Artistic Framing work on 4 pieces recently. The latest was a challenging 3D piece that required a shadowbox and careful affixing of the object. They have a terrific eye for design, quick turnaround, and reasonable pricing. Let’s face it, framing is never cheap, but before I used them the first time, I got 4 bids, and they not only were the most reasonable, but offered me the most professional matting/​molding. Added bonuses: quick turnaround time and Richard and Irena are the sweetest people! Check them out for your next special framing project. You won’t be disappointed.

I used to go to a framer down the street, but when they closed recently, I did a search and saw some great reviews here for Richard’s, so I gave it a try. I took in three pieces of art, and all of them turned out absolutely gorgeous and much better than I had even imagined. I was first helped by Richard’s wife, who helped me quickly zero in on what suited each piece. Richard helped me when I came to pick up the work. They were both delightful to work with, obviously talented and very professional. I wouldn’t say it was cheap, but definitely a case of getting what you pay for. I would recommend them to anyone.

If you need something framed, look no further. We needed five large paintings framed. Not only did they take the time to select the perfect frames, they delivered, helped put them on the walls… even loaned us their stud finder.
I felt I was not a customer but rather part of the family.

Today was my lucky day.
And the reason was the outstanding and thoughtful service I got from Richard at Richard’s Artistic Framing.
In what was a «framing emergency», I stopped here for a ready-​frame. I needed to deliver one of my photographs as an auction item for The Dutch Party, and the frame it was in broke! I remembered this little shop (thanks Trophy Cupcakes for making me patronize Wallingford Center on a regular basis), and decided to stop there to solve my last minute problem.
Best decision of the day! I came in and from the second I stepped into the shop, Richard kindly helped me. He asked me if I wanted to leave the photograph for custom framing, but I was in such a rush, I politely declined. Afterward, I briefly explained what I needed.
I have to say, I adore problem solvers. Richard smiled and teamed up with me to sort out an immediate solution!
He helped me find a simple, ready-​to-​go black frame. He even trimmed the mat I already had to make it fit inside its 8×10 dimensions. Then, taking a step further, Richard finished the framing process by putting on paper and wire to the frame. I also needed a label to identify my piece. Richard typed all the info on his computer, printed it out and glued it to the back of the frame. I was in awe. Indeed, it was my lucky day!
I came in with a broken frame and left with a pristine, professionally framed photo that looked fantastic. All that in just 15 minutes.
There’s no doubt that I’ll be back to this great frame shop. I felt at home and was treated with thoughtfulness, kindness and respect. While Richard was putting my frame together, I had the chance to look at the frames samples hanging on the wall. They have countless models and options, mostly very classy and beautiful ones. They also sell prints and artwork. Gotta love those who support artists in their shops!

The only reason I am not 5-​starring Richard’s Artistic Framing is because I do not have a lot of framework done, and so have no basis for comparison. I also only bought a pre-​made frame, but I have to say I am very pleased. The shop is on the lower level of the Wallingford Center. It is kind of a small shop, but filled with frames, materials, hardware, tools, and samples line the wall in what almost looks like a mosaic of frame edges. Richard and his wife are so nice, friendly, and helpful. It took me forever to find a pre-​made frame in the size and shape that I needed, but the one I got here was beautiful. Although I have settled for $ 5 floating frames from Target for my unconventionally sized prints, I felt $ 14 was a bargain for this beautiful square frame. It was also fitted with a remnant of museum quality glass, which is super high quality as well as expensive. Overall, my experience was 5-​star but I am not knowledgeable enough to know how they compare to the multitude of framing businesses in Seattle. I would definitely recommend this place though, as it looks like they have the resources and knowledge for museum quality projects, but able to serve the measly 7X7 print as well.

I have been a client since 1989 and have followed Richard through three locations in the building. I still have many of the things he did early on. They aren’t dated because Richard has the eye, taste and workmanship of an old world craftsman. Located in the basement of Wallingford Center, Richard and his charming wife run a welcoming space with high tech equipment. They are from Poland and have really embraced the NW lifestyle while retaining their courtly manners and service.
They go out of their way to do a good job. There are no short cuts, the selection of the frames is better than any of the franchise shops. I am so reminded of what good service is when I go in there. I also recognize other old customers-​we just keep returning and bringing our paintings, family photos, etc. I really like them and like the other rreviewer said, «Highly recommended!» Find them in the basement of the Wallingford Center-​the old school that is now brick red and very updated.

I worked with them for a project for my work and they went far above and beyond to help me reach my deadline on time. The owner stayed with me on site until 3:30 in the morning hanging artwork for an opening the next day. They are such wonderful people running a really great framing shop (they do much more than just framing: photoshop work, photo restoration, installation/​mounting)

Extremely friendly, helpful and speedy framer in the Wallingford Center. Reasonably priced (though I only need a matte cut). Will certainly return for future services.
